Chapter 16: Escape

"Escape"

It has been four years since he met him, when in the middle of a visiting trip to his native island he completely destroyed his captor's ship and rescued him, since then he had admired him and felt more proud than ever when the man took him as his ward. However Coby had no doubts, this was the first time he had seen such an expression in Vice Admiral Garp.

The normally cheerful and carefree man showed no expression in his face, his fists were clenched, and he gave off an immense thirst for blood.

He was furious.

"Coby," the older one began, "how long is it?"

"One hour sir."

"Yes sir!"

In front of the entrance to Level 6 "The Eternal Hell" Hannyabal was standing following the orders of his boss.

'If they come this way I'll let them pass' thought of the man 'so they will blame Chief Magellan, they will fire him and then Impel Down will be my prison'

"Hey," he decided to ask one of his subordinates, "if something happens here, will they blame the Warden?"

"They will blame you Vice-Warden since Warden Magellan is busy," a guard commented, "you will probably be fired."

"Ehhh? It can't be," he said in a completely disappointed tone of voice 'I, fired? That would be a total disgrace, the greatest disgrace in history, well I guess I'll have to take this seriously'.

At that moment they hear some footsteps and to the surprise of all those present, it was a woman.

A beautiful and sexy woman, the most beautiful woman in the world.

"Ah...I'm hot," she purred, "gentlemen would you help me cool down?...oh but what am I saying, of course you will, do you know why?" She winked at them as she made a suggestive movement with her clothes.

"Why?" They asked helplessly.

"Because I'm beautiful." The guards shuddered when they saw her, Hannyabal almost had a runny nose.

She began to walk towards the warehouse while all the Impel Down workers were after her drooling and some, no longer able to avoid nasal spills, once they all entered, the door was closed by her.

"Well…" the Vice Warden began in a perverted voice.

"OKAMA KENPO..."

Outside the place while the site was unoccupied two people were sneaking up.

"Nnnfufufu Bon-boy did a good job, even the Den Den Mushis fell dead in love."

"Well, using Boa Hancock's face always works," Inazuma commented. "We should hurry Iva-sama."

"Sure, let's go for Straw Hat-boy," Queen Okama made a somewhat curious gesture "I already want to meet the offspring of our leader nnnfufufu."

"He had it well hidden."

"I always knew that Dragon had a mischievous side." He smiled. "The way he looked at that woman was not normal."

"Of course it wasn't normal." Inazuma couldn't help but agree. "When has Dragon been seen falling so many times in front of the same person?"

"Yes, he even crashed into a chair once," he smiled at the memory of the accident, "apparently our dear Dragon-boy was doing his own things."

And so both revolutionaries entered Level 6.

'This is not right, he should be here by now' Captain Straw Hat thought as he frowned.

"What's wrong?" Zoro couldn't see his captain's face but he knew him, Luffy had been silent for too long.

"The first time I was here when I was going to the kitchen I was intercepted by the poison guy," he sounded worried "he's a bastard but he's strong, he should be here by now, I have a bad feeling." he clenched his fists.

Zoro said nothing for a few seconds as he contemplated the situation, after thinking he finally decided to speak.

"Luffy, go back." Given the situation, he decided to use the real names of his nakamas. "I'm really worried about Nami and Usopp, I'll take care of that annoying thing that's chasing us."

Luffy thought about it, he didn't want to leave Zoro either but if there was someone capable of taking care of himself alone in that prison that was undoubtedly his swordsman so without much preamble the rubber captain nodded and turned around to go in search of his navigator and his sniper while the green-haired man prepared to face his opponent, the Demon Guardian Minochihuahua.

After Law and Rocinante's visit, Luffy had managed to feel better despite the fact that his entire body ached and he was starving, just knowing that even in the middle of a huge underwater prison he was not alone made him feel at peace.

"Those men..." Robin started suddenly and Luffy could hardly be happy, finally it was she who started a conversation "they gave you some kind of message, didn't they?"

He wanted to answer, he really wanted to do it but not even Luffy was that stupid, he knew that if he said something he would compromise Lawy and Roci, he couldn't allow it even if the one asking was Robin but in the end he didn't have to. Right at that moment the entrance to Level 6 was opened, letting in two of the strangest guys Luffy had ever seen.

And Luffy had seen a lot of weird guys.

"But look at nothing else," the man? Purple haired gave him a radiant smile as he approached his cell 'He's like Izo but Izo looks prettier, maybe he's like Dadan…Yes! He definitely looks more like Dadan, well never mind I'll ask him later' "You must be Straw Hat-boy, I'm Ivankov and I came here on behalf of your father nnnfufufu."

His father? Luffy didn't know that Whitebeard had these kinds of friends but he didn't care, his Oyaji haven't forgotten.

"They're friends with Oyaji!" He exclaimed happily.

Inazuma rushed to cut the bars and then free Luffy from the chains that held him while Ivankov silenced the rest of the prisoners who were shouting for freedom as well.

Once free the boy left.

"Thank you shishshi!" Now he got something more serious "now release Robin, she is from my crew." as usual Luffy was already giving orders.

"What?!" Exclaimed by Robin at first, surprised, then to finally say with obvious annoyance "No! I thought I told you to leave me alone, I want to die and I never agreed to join your crew."

"But I already decided that you join," Robin didn't know what to say to that "and if you want to die, do it later, now I'm going to save you."

And without further ado, once Inazuma released her, Luffy took a Robin who was still protesting and carried her on his shoulders to finally advance towards the exit.

"That was "The Light of the Revolution" Nico Robin, I didn't know she was here," commented of the scissor man.

"The government might have kept it as a great secret, Dragon wanted her to join our cause," a radiant smile spread across Ivankov's face "apparently his adorable son was ahead of him."

The revolutionaries finally advanced towards the exit where Luffy had already taken a great advantage of them.

Usopp had managed to dodge again, but he no longer knew how long he could resist this way, he was exhausted, he did not have much ammunition left, he was dying of fear and he did not see any solution no matter how much he thought and thought 'Come on Usopp, damn it! You trained two damn years not to be a fucking useless and now that your nakama needs you you can't do anything, you haven't changed a thing, you're still good for nothing Damn! Curse! Curse! Think for a fucking time' but little by little despair was taking hold of him completely and he made the mistake of looking at his friend, he just wanted to get down on his knees and start crying like a five year old while he saw her in that way, the energetic Nami fallen and without showing any gesture, with pale skin and shallow breathing, the sniper clenched his fists in a gesture of pure helplessness 'Nami' thought and then saw the man turn towards her.

He wasn't going to allow it!

"Come get me, you fucking poison ball!" He fired a shot that managed to ignite some of the poison, thus gaining a few minutes.

'Luffy…where are you?' his mind was already somewhat fuzzy and he was barely able to stand.

"You are brave but that is not enough to end me." 'curious I say brave just to me' thought Usopp "soon you will have the same destiny as that woman."

And without further ado, Magellan shaped his poisonous hydra, made an impossibly slow walk in the eyes of the sniper as he made his way to where his friend was.

"It is the end, for disturbing the peace of Impel Down, I the Warden Magellan condemn you to death, take your punishment." and attacked.

Time seemed to stop just at that moment.

Usopp, without really knowing how he did it, somehow managed to move, with all that was left of strength he ran, lashing himself right in front of Nami, thus using his own body as a shield.

"I WILL NOT LET YOU TOUCH MY NAKAMA!" He shouted with all his might.

And suddenly a huge force completely invaded the place, so powerful, so brutal and so intimidating that Magellan himself was forced to back down.

"You... how dare you?" It was a hoarse whisper but at the same time dangerous, capable of making anyone shudder, a will so powerful that it was even capable of making the world kneel before its wishes. "HOW DARE YOU HURT MY NAKAMAS?!"

Only few times could Luffy be seen more furious.

And few times Usopp could be more relieved, as soon as he saw his captain there he began to cry non-stop, a feeling of absolute security invaded him completely.

Magellan couldn't do anything.

Impel Down was being totally surrounded by a large number of warships and right in the center came Kizaru ready to start the action.

He wasn't going to let the pirate scums get away.

In Level 3 "The Desert Hell" the older brothers had already managed to kill their respective beasts, just like Sanji who also took care of the beast that was chasing his beloved Robin-chuan and the other Franky, so only the Basilisk remained, which was the most difficult.

The reason, Robin believed him to be adorable and did not want to hurt him, which resulted in a depressed and jealous Sanji, Sabo and Ace were trying to attack but then just to be intercepted by the depressed Sanji who would defend something that his beautiful Robin-chuan loved with his life, the other Franky could only shaking his head saying that they were all crazy then just to be hit by Robin, in the end the beast was knocked down by the other Sabo who had just arrived from Level 2 and who in turn was also hit by Robin.

Suddenly the baby Den Den Mushi that Sanji was carrying began to ring.

"Say," he answered without wasting time.

"Sangorou, it's me, Usohachi!" The sniper spoke quickly, "are you alone?"

"No, Robin-chan, the two Sabos, Ace and the other Franky are here."

"I'm counting on you guys," and so the sniper hung up.

"Well you heard, we have to riot."

"It'll be fun." Amusement was evident in Ace's voice.

Currently at Level 5.5 "New Kama Land".

Nami's mind still felt fuzzy but she was lucid enough to know that her friend wasn't there and she remembered some things that were about to drive her crazy.

Her last clear memory was of the poisonous man making several attacks and a small ball of poison hitting her.

"And Usopp?" She asked worried as soon as she could speak well, she knew it was him. It was Usopp's voice that whispered "Don't give up Nami", "You are the navigator. What are we supposed to do without you?", "Nami don't you dare die, if you do I will never forgive him. ''

Those words had given her a lot of strength, they had helped her to carry on and not give up.

"Quiet Nami-girl, Nose-boy is stronger than it seems, the wolves have hurt him a lot but he will survive, as for you, you were lucky to find me quickly and above all because the poison that hit you was a minimal amount."

At that moment a tearful Luffy entered the room where the navigator and Queen Okama were.

"NAMI!" Without thinking twice he jumped on his friend to give her a huge hug with his face totally wet with tears "yho pwenseh qwesh eshtuavash mujeshtah" (I thought you were dead).

When they escaped from Magellan, Usopp began to walk thus reaching Level 5 "The Freezing Hell", having no more place to go the sniper decided to enter. There he fought against the cold and against the wolves with all his might in a desperate attempt to follow his captain's orders and protect Nami until he couldn't take it anymore and ended up collapsing. Both Straw Hats were picked up by Inazuma who at the request of the other Luffy went for them, he had recognized them through the monitor because Usopp in an attempt to help Nami's breathing had removed her mask.

And so they ended up in the okama paradise in the care of Ivankov.

"Idiot, I'm fine," Nami said softly, she almost hit him but in the end she decided not to and simply hugged him back because even if she didn't admit it she had been too worried about the other version of her captain.

At that moment Inazuma entered, ready to report.

"Young Usopp already informed his allies, it's finally time to move Iva-sama."

"Nnnfufufu fine, we will finally leave this place. Inazuma call my candies and tell them it's time for war, we'll be out in a few minutes."

"Got it," with a final bow the scissor man left the place.

"Move?" Nami asked curiously.

"Yes, your friends must already be causing a disturbance to distract the guards, we will use this opportunity and make sure Luffy-boy gets out of the prison safely."

"So suddenly… nd why do you want to help Luffy?"

"He is the son of my comrade, I cannot allow him to die, I will keep him safe even if it costs me my life."

Vice-Warden Hannyabal had finally managed to break free and now he and his subordinates ran at full speed while listening in horror to the news through the baby Den Den Mushi that would not stop ringing.

"Warden Magellan is out for the count!"

"Boss we need reinforcements at Level 3! The prisoners have escaped!"

"Okay, hold on!" He hung up and called to his other subordinates, "Sadie-chan take your demonic guardians to Level three!"

"They're already there! But they were all defeated boss. What do we do?"

"What?!" Hannyabal was already about to panic "Okay hold on, I'll call Saldeath," then he hung up and started calling the head of the Blugoris, "Saldeath move to level 3 with all the guards that you can take!"

"Vice-Warden we need reinforcements in Level 2, the prisoners escaped and we can't do anything!"

"Mr. Hannyabal, Emporio Ivankov appeared on Level 5!" Another guard reported just then.

'Nakama' Robin shuddered upon hearing that word, a warmth completely invaded her like a soft protective blanket as she saw Luffy's comforting back fighting for her.

No one had ever fought for her.

''Hey Zoro, how do the gears work?"

"I'm not very sure...well I don't know how he does it with the fourth but when he wants to do the second he is in this position..."

"Hmm I see and then..."

"He accelerates his circulation, he can resist it because of his rubber body."

"Oh! So cool, I think I already have it shishishi."

'I don't want anyone to get hurt again just to protect me, this time the one who protects will be me'

With the steam coming out in the classic position and with the determination to protect his nakama Luffy made his move.

The Straw Hats and Whitebeard's sons had finally managed to reunite at Level 3 where they were also ready to go.

The huge army of okamas had arrived, with Luffy in front who was taking Zoro by the shirt so that he does not get lost and right behind them Ivankov and his own were also coming.

They had all met on Level 4 and together they made it here.

"WAAA!" Sanji yelled, hiding behind Franky.

"Everyone to the exit!" The queen screamed.

"Here!" Straw Hat Luffy yelled.

Silence invaded the place until they finally heard the cheerful and familiar voice.

"GUYS!" Yelled a smiling Luffy followed by an exhausted Robin who could barely keep up with the rubber boy.

"LUFFY!" Both Ace and the two Sabos approached Luffy with a huge bear hug. The older brothers almost shed tears, the younger brother for his part only had enough to recognize them to start crying with all his might.

"I'am finally home."

They had managed to get out and finally, outside the prison, they prepared to take a battleship. When they managed to board one, Zoro, Sanji and their captain were in charge of delaying the other ships that were on the left, while the others took care of the ones on the right, Nami was looking for a safer escape route and Franky was in the rudder. But in an oversight they took their eyes off him, everyone did, everyone except him.

He never stopped looking after him, he did it since they were children.

So as soon as he noticed an Admiral rise in the sky, he predicted his movement and acted a few seconds before.

Kizaru fired.

The impact hit him full.

"SABO!"

'I'm sorry Luffy, but it's the older brother's job to protect his little brother' he thought before everything went black.
