A/N: I plan on giving Littlefoot a backstory in the next chapter or the one after it, so don't worry about it. But for now, let's just stick with a small fight and some romance.

Chapter Twelve: Chomper and Scales Reunite
Littlefoot carried the exhausted Scales through the desert when the valley came into view. Glancing back, he could see that she had closed her eyes and he felt sorry for her. When he had first seen her and the state she was in, his mother's words that it never hurt to help others, no matter who they were. And even though she was a predator, Littlefoot knew that she was too exhausted to try to hurt him. He was more worried about her dying of hunger. He knew that there was plenty to eat in the valley ahead and knew that it was better to not be around when he set her down.
It wasn't long when he walked into the valley and came to a stop next to a wide river. Laying down, Littlefoot then looked to Scales before using his tail to gently lift her off his back. He was able to move her into cool water before getting back up and quickly walking off.

It was half an hour later when Scales started to wake up from the feel of cool water running against her scales. She opened her eyes and looked to see that she was laying in the river. Looking about, she couldn't see Littlefoot anywhere. She then thought that he was either foraging for food or was thinking that she might attack him. Scales didn't blame him for thinking that and would talk to him later. But the roaring of her stomach made her think of eating something first. Luckily, when the hunting was getting scarce back in the valley, her mother taught her how to catch the Scaley Swimmers. She waited for a minute before dunking her head into the water. Scales was successful when she brought up a big Scaley Swimmer and swallowed it whole. But before she decided to try and catch another, four different scents came to her nostrils. Hunger over taking her mind a little, the yellow scaled Sharptooth decided to have a bigger meal. With a growl Scales followed the scent to where it was leading her.

It was late in the afternoon when Cera, Spike, Petrie and Ducky were walking through the forest. Chomper was still upset since the other night and the four decided to let him have some time to himself. Petrie was perched on Cera's frill while Ducky walked ahead of the group. As they walked through the forest, they decided to start singing 'The Sharptooth Sleeps Tonight' with Spike and Petrie providing the beat while Cera and Ducky took care of the lyrics. They then started the song…
Spike and Petrie: A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh
A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh
They continued to provide the lyrics as Cera and Ducky started to sing…
Cera: In the jungle
The mighty jungle
Ducky: The Sharptooth sleeps tonight
They rounded a tree and climbed up a small hill and started the song again…
Spike and Petrie: A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh
A-wimoweh, a-wimoweh
Ducky: In the jungle
The mighty jungle
Cera: The Sharptooth sleeps tonight
They kept going over and over with the lyrics since they like singing that part of the song so much. But soon, Spike stopped dropping the beats when he took a wrong turn. Soon the three stopped singing and noticed that Spike was gone. Ducky looked around and called for her brother, "Spike?" There was no answer, "Spike, where are you?!"
"Come on, Spike!" Cera shouted as well. Petrie flapped high above the trees to see if he could spot their friend but couldn't see any sign of him. Looking down he shook his head, "Me no see Spike."
"Let's split up." Cera suggested. The other two nodded and Ducky said, "Should one of us find him, he let out a holler."
"Sound good to Petrie." Petrie nodded before flapping off. Cera and Ducky ran off in different directions to try and find him.
Spike had actually waked a good distance from the other three and found himself alone in a part of the forest next to a field of tall grass. Deciding to wait for the others to find him, Spike started to eat some of the green food on the bushes. Suddenly, something small and furry jumped out of the bush slightly startling him. Spike looked down in surprise to see that it was a Fuzzy Face. The Fuzzy Face sat their for a moment while rubbing its adorable face with its equally adorable paws. It looked up to Spike before scurrying off. Spike walked after it and the Fuzzy Face continued to scamper away. It climbed a log and Spike carefully snuck up after it. The Spiketail tried jumping over the log, but fell short and grunted when he was only halfway over it. He started to climb over it but froze when he heard a twig snap behind him. Glancing back he asked, "Guys? Is that you?"
But all he could see was a field of grass and a few trees. When he couldn't see anything else, Spike shrugged before continuing to climb over the log and made it across. The Fuzzy Face sat on the log and Spike raised his head up to be real close to it. But before anything else could be done, the sounds and tremors of heavy footsteps came. The Fuzzy Face looked about before scurrying off and Spike saw something coming towards him in the field of tall grass. From the look of it, he saw that it was a Sharptooth and thought that it was Chomper trying to mess with him. But when he took a closer look at the Sharptooth's scales they were yellow, form the smell he could tell that it was female and what really made him nervous was the look of hunger in her eyes. The yellow Sharptooth growled in hunger as she stalked closer to him. Spike became scared and screamed at the top of his lungs.
But all it made the Sharptooth charge right at him. Spike quickly turned and ran for his life. The yellow she-Sharptooth crushed the log underfoot as she chased the Spiketail. Spike ran as fast as his legs could carry him but the Sharptooth was starting to gain on him. He ran around trees, climbed over medium sized rocks and jumped over small streams at the cliffs which wasn't easy for him. But his pursuer was able to keep up with him. She growled as she nearly caught him but missed him. Cera, Petrie and Ducky all heard the sounds of the chase before quickly running to help their friend when they heard him scream. From another section of the forest, Littlefoot raised his head when he heard a scream and quickly started moving to go and help. In a nearby cave, a set of eyes opened when he heard his friend's screams of terror and growled in anger.
Spike tried to loose the she-Sharptooth by running up the roots of a giant tree. But she was able to keep up when she ran up the roots too. Spike jumped out of the way to his left when the she-Sharptooth lunged at him with her jaws wide. He jumped again when she tried to pounce on him from behind. Spike moved out of the way a third time when the yellow Sharptooth lunged yet again. Spike then ran to who knows where with the she-Sharptooth right on his tail. The three met up and started shouting out, "Spike! Spike!"
A frantic Spike broke through a few bushes and looked back to see that he had gained some ground from her. But since he wasn't watching where he was going, he got snared in a few vines and tripped while getting more entangled. He started to struggle in his bindings when Cera, Petrie and Ducky found him. The two with hands started to try and untangle him while Cera asked, "Spike, are you okay? What's going on?"
"SHE'S GONNA EAT ME!" Spike shouted in their faces, the wind from the Spiketail making them brace themselves. They all looked around the Spiketail with a, "Huh?"
That's when they saw the charging yellow Sharptooth breaking through the foliage towards them. They all became terrified and shouted, "Whoa!" Petrie and Ducky both frantically moved to entangle their friend while Cera moved in front of them to protect them. The two were having a little difficulty with the vines and Cera glanced back and ranted, "Jeez, Spike, why do we always have to save your…"
But when she looked ahead she gasped when she saw how close the Sharptooth was. All four friends screamed as they thought that this was the end. Suddenly, a shape leapt over the four and they looked up in surprise. Even the yellow Sharptooth came sliding to a stop in surprise as Chomper landed between her and her prey. But her surprise and confusion turned into anger when Chomper rushed at her and used his head to knock her onto her back. Chomper stood over her and tried to bite down, but she used a backfoot against his chest to keep him back. The two Sharpteeth glared at each other while baring their teeth. With a push from both feet, the she-Sharptooth was able to shove Chomper back. The purple Sharptooth was able to stop himself from falling over while the female picked herself back up.
The three continued to help free Spike while they all watched the fight commence. Chomper and the female were currently circling each other while growling and glaring at one another. Chomper made the first move by lunging forward and tried to land a few swipes with his claws. He landed a few scratches and she retaliated by turning a full circle and smacking her tail into his midsection. Chomper cringed from the blow but was able to grab it under his arm and pulled her along. The she-Sharptooth yelped in surprise and Chomper released her. The yellow Sharptooth crashed into a tree and Chomper tried to attack her. They both crashed into the tree and fell to the ground. Chomper and the female quickly stood back up again before rushing at each other. The four friends jumped or cringed when the two butted heads together with crack. The two opponents backed away with a snarl and prepared themselves for what may come next. The two Sharpteeth moved in a circle while their teeth were bared. The female then lunged and snapped her teeth at him causing Chomper to back away before charging forward and the two butted heads again. The two Sharpteeth growled as they tried to push the other back. From their spot, Cera, Ducky and Petrie continued to try and free their friend. Ducky patted her brother's head and reassured, "Don't worry, Spike. Chomper's here now. Everything's gonna be okay."
"Yay!" Petrie cheered while he tugged. Cera then said, "Free Spike now, be happy later."
"Right." The three said before struggling to free the Spiketail. From a small distance away, Littlefoot stuck his head through the trees to watch the action.
Chomper and the female Sharptooth kept trying to push each other back to no avail. With a final push from the both of them, the two opponents stumbled away from each other. They glared at each other again before letting loose loud roars. Everyone winced from the loud sounds before the two rushed at each other again. Their bodies collided against each other and Cera shouted, "Go for the jugular, the jugular!"
"Mess her up!" Spike shouted. The two Sharpteeth were trying to bite at each other while their bodies were pressed up against each other. Chomper and the female were able to land a few scratches on the other as they backed away from each other. Seeing that their friend was holding his own, Cera looked to the others and said, "I guess he can hold his own. And that sure came in handy."
"Mm-hmm." The other three nodded before looking back to the fight.
The two fighting Sharpteeth had moved a good deal away from each other. With a roar Chomper started to charge at the female again. She braced herself for him as he used his shoulder to knock her onto her back. But when her back touched the ground, Chomper felt her back feet kick up against his belly and the two Sharpteeth flipped through the air with the female coming out on top. Chomper gritted his teeth when his back hit the ground and he started to come up a little, but the female quickly planted a foot on his chest and shoved him back down with a loud thump. Chomper's face became one of shock and surprise as he looked up to the female. The female panted while growling and prepared herself in case Chomper made another move. But the purple Sharptooth was no longer in a battling mood as he thought about the move she just used. He thought of only one from the past as he looked her in the eye and said one word, "Scales?"
This caused her facial features to soften in shock and the female Sharptooth stepped off of him. She moved backwards before stopping a few feet from him. Chomper rolled onto his belly before getting up again. Moving closer to her he then asked, "Is it really you?"
"Who are you?" She asked while tilting her head. Chomper smiled as he revealed, "It's me, Chomper."
"Chomper?" Scales asked while leaning forward to take a better look. Chomper's smile didn't falter as he nodded to confirm it. Her eyes widened and a great big smile adorned her snout. The two long lost friends shouted with glee, "Whoa!"
Chomper and Scales rushed towards the other and embraced after so long. Littlefoot, Cera, Ducky, Petrie and Spike were all confused by the display. The two parted, butted each other's heads and circled each other to see how much they had changed over the years. Chomper then asked, "How did you…"
"How did you…" Scales asked back with a grin. The others had wide eyes from shock, disbelief and no more fear. Chomper still couldn't believe it as he jumped a little and shouted, "Wow!"
"Where did you come from?" Scales asked him, wanting to know where her best friend had been all this time. Chomper shook his head and said, "This is gr… It's just so great to see you!" Then he added, "Just look how much you've grown since we were cubs."
"I could say the same about you, Chomper." Scales said with a smile. She felt as if she were about t start crying when she said, "It's so good to see you again."
"What is going on here?" Cera questioned and walked away from the trapped Spiketail. Ducky and Petrie looked to each other before glancing at Spike. Ducky motioned for Petrie to go while she continued to free her brother. Even Littlefoot started to come out into the light.
"What are you doing here?" Chomper asks her. This confuses Scales and she redirects the question back, "What do you mean, 'What am I doing here?' What are you doing here, Chomper?"
Cera, Petrie and Littlefoot all stood on the sides as the Threehorn then shouted at the top of her lungs, "HEY! WHAT'S GOING ON OVER HERE?!"
Chomper and Scales looked to her and Chomper smiled as he introduced, "Cera, Petrie, this is Scales. She's my best friend from back home."
Scales smiled to this while Cera quirked a brow and she questioned, "Friend?!" Moving between the two Sharpteeth she then asked, "You do remember what she just tried to do to us, right?"
"Yeah, but had she known she wouldn't have." Chomper assured. Then looking back he said, "Hey, Ducky, Spike! Come on over here."
Ducky had gotten the last of the vines off of her brother and they both looked back with a, "Huh?"
"Scales, this is Ducky and Spike." Chomper introduced as the Spiketail and Big Mouth Swimmer walked over. Then he said, "Spike, Ducky, this is Scales."
No longer worried, Ducky said with a wide grin, "It is very nice to meet you, Scales. It is, it is."
"It's nice to meet you all as well." Scales said with a nod of her head. Looking to Spike she said, "Sorry about the whole…"
"If you're a friend of Chomper's then that's enough for me to forgive you." Spike said with a grin and a shrug. Cera finally noticed the Longneck in the trees and asked, "Hey! Who's that hiding in the shadows over there?"
They all looked to see Littlefoot standing in the shade of a tree. Scales smiled as she said, "Oh, that's Littlefoot. He helped me to find this place."
"Nice to meet you." Chomper said with a friendly smile. Littlefoot only gave a small smile and then said, "Likewise."
"Wait until everyone back home finds out that you've been here all this time." Scales said, stealing back Chomper's attention. She was smiling at seeing him again, but then her grin fell when she said, "And your mother, what will she think about this?"
Her words brought back memories of the day when he was a cub. He remembered when Scar-Eye had said that and didn't want anyone to find about what he had done. Chomper then said, "She doesn't have to know." Then he added, "Nobody back home has to know."
"Well of course they do." Scales said as her smile came back. She was relieved when it turned out to be false when she said, "Everyone back at the Great Valley thinks that you're dead."
"They do?" Chomper asks, curious to how much that they knew. Scales' face once again fell as she thought of Rex and said, "Yeah," She was really sad when she said, "Scar-Eye told us about the stampede."
"He did?" Chomper asked while looking away, wondering what exactly his uncle said about the incident. He looked to her again and asked, "What else did my uncle tell you guys?"
"What else matters?" Scales asked as her smile once again returned, "You're alive." Her smile suddenly grew wide as she then realized, "And that means…" Chomper was slightly nervous yet surprised when she said, "You're the King."
"King?" Cera asked as she thought it sounded preposterous. Three of the four non-meat eaters were also surprised by this. The Threehorn then blew a raspberry and said, "Girlfriend, have you got your Sharpteeth crossed!"
"King?" Spike asked in wonder. They all looked to him as the green Spiketail came closer to Chomper and lowered on his belly to bow. Cera gave him a questioning look as he said, "Your Majesty!" He grabbed one of Chomper's hands with his paw and said, "I am your humble servant."
Then he began to noisily kiss the Sharptooth's hand. Chomper pulled his hand away and said in annoyance, "Spike, knock it off."
"Spike, please stop." Petrie said while Cera wacked him in the head with her tail. Cera then said, "And he's not the King." Then feeling uncertain, she looked up to her friend and asked, "Are you?"
"No!" Chomper quickly said. Both Scales and Littlefoot were surprised and the former questioned, "Chomper?"
"No, I'm not the King." Chomper shook his head. He walked around them, leaving a confused Scales as he said, "Maybe I was gonna be at one point, but that was a really long time ago."
"Hold on, hold on." Cera said as she ran in front of him. Chomper was slightly surprised and Cera then asked, "You're a King where you're from? How come you came here?"
"Look, I'm still the same guy." Chomper said with a confident grin. Petrie flapped over and pumped a fist, "But you have power!"
"Uh, could all of you excuse me and Chomper for a few minutes?" Scales asked with a smile. Cera looked the yellow Sharptooth and then said, "What do you think?" Looking to Chomper she said, "Cause whatever you have to say to him, you can say to us."
"I think that they want to talk amongst themselves." Littlefoot put in. Cera snorted and said, "Well, it's Chomper's choice now, isn't it?"
"Umm." Chomper said as he thought about it. Then he suggested with a grin, "Maybe you should go."
Cera's fell as she couldn't believe what came out of Chomper's mouth. Littlefoot came over and used his tail to close her mouth. She shook her head to make it go away. Then with an annoyed look she muttered, "It starts." She, Spike, Petrie and Ducky followed after Littlefoot and she added, "You think you know someone."
Spike, Ducky and Petrie all tried to comfort her as they walked off into the forest. When he was sure that they were gone, Chomper chuckled, "Cera, Spike, Ducky and Petrie." He turned to Scales as she stepped away and he added, "You learn to love those guys."
His face fell when he noticed how sad she was looking. Chomper then asked her, "What?" He moved to her right side and asked in concern, "What is it, Scales?"
Scales closed her eyes before saying, "It's like you've come back from the dead, Chomper." She turned her head to him and though relieved, she sounded sad when she said, "You don't know how much this will mean to everyone." Scales hung her head and sounded hurt when she said, "And what it means to me."
"Hey, it's gonna be okay." Chomper reassured her. Scales then moved his head under his and then said, "I've really missed you, Chomper."
Though a bit startled by her bold display of affection, Chomper started to smile and as he said, "And I've missed you too, Scales."
Chomper moved to where he could nuzzle her face with his and could feel his heart swell. He thought that she felt the same way as she pressed her body against his as both Sharpteeth started to make purr like growls. Chomper then said, "Let me show you around this place."
"Okay." Scales said, wanting to spend as much time as she could with him.
The two were being watched from the bushes by the five Leaf Eaters. Well, by four of them, since Spike was starting to eat their cover. Littlefoot looked down to Cera and asked, "Why are we watching them again?"
"Because this is a sign and it stinks." Cera said and looked up to him. Spike then asked, "I don't smell anything."
Cera nudged him with her elbow and said, "Not literal stink!" Then looking back to the two Sharpteeth she said, "Those two!"
They looked to see Chomper and Scales started to walk off into the forest. The sun was starting to set as they disappeared from view. Cera then said, "Him. Her. Alone."
"What is so bad about that?" Ducky asks in confusion. Petrie agreed and said, "Yeah. Chomper and Scales old friends."
"Don't you understand what's going on?" Cera questioned. Littlefoot huffed and said, "No. Please enlighten us."
Cera then decided to explain through a song as a melody started to play…
Cera: I can see what's happening
"Wait, what's going on?" Spike asks and stops eating.
Cera: And they don't have a clue
"Who?" Ducky asks, still not understanding. Littlefoot knew that she was talking about the two Sharpteeth.
Cera: Those two will fall in love and here's the bottom line
Our group's back down to four.
"Oh." Petrie said as he was finally starting to understand. Cera then sang in an accent…
Cera: The sweet caress of twilight
She looked between the other four and dramatically sang…
Cera: There's magic everywhere
And with all this romantic atmosphere
Disaster's in the air
Littlefoot rolled his eyes while Spike, Ducky and Petrie all looked back to where Chomper and Scales went. They began to think about what the Threehorn was saying…
Elsewhere…
Etta: Can you feel the love tonight?
Chomper had led Scales to a different part of the forest. They came to a small rise with Scales in the lead. The two friends/lovers had found themselves next to a beautiful waterfall. Scales carefully stepped down the rocks with Chomper right behind her. When he had reached the bottom of the stone pat that the bottom, Scales turned around to wait for Chomper was he was quick to join her. He came closer to her and it made her back up a little. The yellow Sharptooth walked over to the second waterfall as he stared at her thought the falling waters.
Etta: The peace the evening brings
Chomper moved to the opening beside the second falls, and they went around in a circle on the stone path around the falls. Scales stopped behind the third falls and turned to stare into the face of Chomper.
The world for once
In perfect harmony
With all its living things
Chomper and Scales walked on both sides of the falling water before walking side by side on the shore. The two came to a spot where Scales moved to another spot not far while Chomper stayed where he was. They both leaned down and began to drink from the water. And as they lapped at the cool waters, thoughts went through their minds of what they should say to each other…
Chomper: So many things to tell her
But how to make her see
The two glanced at each other before Scales continued to drink the water. Chomper then thought about telling her why he had left, but then he thought against it for he believed…
Chomper: The truth about my past
Impossible, she would turn away from me
Scales glanced up from her drink and stopped when she noticed that Chomper had something on his mind. She lifted her head and started to wonder…
Scales: He's holding back, he's hiding
But what, I can't decide
The two Sharpteeth looked to each other when a smile formed on Chomper's face. He then moved along the rocky shore. Scales then started to question…
Scales: Why won't he be the King I know he is?
The King I see inside
Chomper ran past Scales, confusing her as she turned her head to follow him and quirked a brow. Chomper grabbed a vine with his jaws and ran back to the pond. Scales had to move out of the way to avoid being rammed as he jumped and swung out over the water. Chomper released the vine with a grin and fell into the pond with a huge splash.
Etta and Chorus: Can you feel the love tonight?
The peace the evening brings
Scales had to brace herself as some of the water splashed on her. She looked to the pond with a slight glare but noticed that he hadn't come up yet. Scales looked about the water for any signs of him. She quickly noticed a trail of bubbles coming towards her. Looking down to the water, she was completely unprepared when Chomper shot up out of the water and wrapped his arms around her neck. Then he playfully pulled her into the water with a much bigger splash. A smiling Chomper came back up to the surface while Scales burst next to him with a gasp. She swam back to the shore and pulled herself out of the water. When he was fully on land and feet away from the water he started to take deep breaths as it had been a fright for her. Chomper swam to the shore and climbed out as well. He grinned as he stood next to her. Scales looked to him with a sly grin before playfully snapping her jaws at him. Chomper fell for it by moving back, but it was what Scales was wanting and used her head to knock Chomper back in. Scales took off running through the forest as Chomper fell back into the water with another huge splash.
Etta and Chorus: The world for once
In perfect harmony
With all its living things
The sun was starting to set and the sky turned to twilight as Scales ran into an open field with Chomper chasing after her. Their run through the field scared a small flock of Fliers as they flew away. He was starting to gain on her when they entered the forest once again. Chomper followed Scales through the trees and down a small hill. At the bottom of the hill, Scales turned and faced Chomper as he came up behind his friend. The two made playful swipes with their claws and nips with their jaws before they grabbed onto each other and tried to push the other over. Chomper put all his weight into it and they started tumbling down another hill. Chomper and Scales rolled over and over each other as they tumbled down the hill. Nearing the bottom of the hill, Chomper kept a good grip on Scales and threw them off the hill.
Etta and Chorus: Can you feel the love tonight?
You needn't look too far
The two Sharpteeth landed in a pile with Chomper on top of Scales. He lifted his head as they both started to laugh from their fun. Scales stopped laughing and looked up to her friend. Gently using a hand, she pulled his head down while reaching up and licking his right cheek. Chomper's smile dropped as he was surprised while opening his eyes. He looks down to Scales and she to him. She smiled at him and he smiled back.
Etta and Chorus: Stealing through
The night's uncertainties
Chomper rose off of her to let Scales stand up again. When she was on her feet they stood close to each other. The two Sharpteeth were lost in each other's eyes as they moved their heads towards the other's. Slightly moving their heads to where they touched, Chomper and Scales started to rub their necks together as a symbol of their love. When they stopped and separated from each other, Chomper leaned forward and licked the top of her head. Scales returned it by pressing her body against his, wrapping her arms around his neck and graced him with a kiss. Chomper returned it and they kissed for a second more. When they broke the kiss Scales walked around Chomper and he followed her movements before the two walked off deeper into the valley.
Love is where they are
Elsewhere…
The thought of losing their friend made tears well up in Cera's eyes as she sang…
Cera: And if he falls in love tonight
It can be assumed
The other three were sad too as Spike sniffled. Ducky placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and Petrie leaned against Littlefoot's leg. The Longneck looked down to them and was sympathetic for them by gently rubbing his tail along Cera's back. Spike then took up where Cera left off…
Spike: His carefree days
With us are totally history
The four finished together by lifting their heads to the sky and dramatically sang…
Cera, Ducky, Spike and Petrie: In short, our pal
Is DOOMED
The four friends looked to each other before bursting to tears. The tears flew through the air in arches. Littlefoot just rolled his eyes but slightly smiled at their antics.

Author's Note: This is the longest reunion chapter that I have done. Don't know how I'll top this in the next Lion King story. But only a few more chapters until the end. And I plan to do the next chapter different, cause not only does it have Ruby, but our Longneck will be saying a few words as well. I look forward to reading your reviews. Be sure to leave a comment either about if I've done something wrong or if you want something specifically to happen. See you next time.
