The moment Dorbickmon showed up, they all knew they were in grave danger. Even if they defeated Huanglongmon, the Death General still had his army by his side and power in his hands.

"M-maybe we have a chance," Akari said with little hope as the general jumped near them.

Dorbickmon fire sword was in his hands as he gazed at the group. He could already tell that Shoutmon and Ballistamon were out of battle. They were too weakened by their battle against Huanglongmon. The only one remaining was the dark knight who pointed his spear at him, "You think you have a chance of defeating me?"

Darkknightmon X2 frowned as he slowly took a step to the right. His grip on his weapon strengthened as he took another step to the left, "I doesn't matter if I have a chance or not. I will crush you and eventually, Bagramon."

The red dragon laughed loudly as he heard that threat. A large grin was on his face as he pointed his claw at the foolish knight, "You? You think you can kill my master? The emperor who killed the Digimon King with his own hands?" he twitched his head on the side and his grin was gone. He frowned as anger took place to the amusement of such declaration. He saw how serious the other Digimon was, "You are living in delusion weakling. You will fall under me. And when you'll die, you will remember your place in the Digital World. Just a little bit of bites and nothing else," he charged. When he slashed, his sword was blocked by the spear.

The dark knight tried to resist the strength of the other dragon. He felt pain as he began to kneel against Dorbickmon. He was kicked in the gut and sent away. He didn't lose his balance and avoided pillars coming after him. He looked at the Fire-Fury and saw a dark aura surrounding the Digimon, "Even without the fusion…" he dreaded to say anything else.

"You are still a weakling," the Death General replied, "I didn't need to Digixros to defeat you before. I just wanted to give you a little bit of my true power," he then charged.

Chapter 13: Little Hope

The battle went on and it was clear that Darkknightmon X2 had no chance of defeating Dorbickmon. The knight could only dodge or block an attack at the last second and trying to maintain a little bit of distance between them. His superior speed wasn't enough when the dragon could guess where he was coming.

Shoutmon grunted as he could do nothing against the enemy. The one put his own village into the constant fear of destruction and enslavement was right there and he was too powerful. Still, "Taiki! You have an idea?"

The boy thought about it. He gazed at Nene and nodded negatively, "We have to save it for next time."

The girl gazed at her Xros Loader. The Weeping Flowers were there, but it wouldn't work from where they were. If they could send it around and get the Digimons, Darkknightmon could have turn the tide. Still, they wouldn't get the dragon by surprise another time. Nene had to admit that they couldn't take that chance.

"We need to get out of here," Akari said as she looked around. Even so, the how was the big question. The situation was hopeless.

"I'm thinking!" Taiki replied as he thought hard while under the pressure of losing anyone.

The little dragon didn't want to wait any longer. Even if he had no chance, he could be an annoyance. Something that might give Darkknightmon X2 a little chance. He didn't like the other Digimon, but they had the same goal, "Taiki. Think of a way out of here. I'll make sure Darkknightmon can get one hit. If we can just get him once, we will show him we have a chance," he clenched his hands, "That we have a chance of defeating him."

"Then we run away," Taiki whispered as he gazed at the red dragon who charged forward.

The red dragon grabbed his mic and ran towards the two fighters. He grunted as he accelerated with everything, he had left within him.

The boy could only watch as he continued to plan an escape.

Shoutmon jumped in the air and prepared to hit the skull of the crimson dragon with everything he got. He twisted his spine and when he was getting closer, he swung with everything he had. His eyes lightly shined as he smashed the back of the dragon's head.

Dorbickmon felt it, but it didn't hurt him. He gazed behind him and saw the little dragon who dared to hit him without hesitation. He saw the fury in that dragon's eyes and almost no fear.

Darkknightmon X2 saw his chance and slashed. The crimson dragon turned around and saw the attack coming and jumped back, trying to dodge it at the last second. The knight yelled as spear damaged the dragon chest.

Dorbickmon opened his mouth and breath fire with everything he had and hit the dark knight. He charged and tackled the knight away. He put his hand on his chest as the knight jumped away from him. He grunted as he grunted loudly, "Not bad."

Darkknightmon X2 grunted as the fire greatly hurt him. Despite managing to hit Dorbickmon, he was certain he wouldn't have another chance again. He had to admit that Shoutmon had a lot of guts to try anything.

The little dragon yelled at the Death General, "You aren't invisible Dorbickmon!"

The Fire-Fury chuckled, "Of course. Bagramon is the only Digmon stronger than me. Much stronger."

Shoutmon yelled back, "We can defeat you! We manage to hit you once, but we can do it again!" he pointed his finger at the giant dragon, "We can overthrow you from this kingdom! We will prove it!"

Taiki walked forward and said, "Shoutmon is right! We will defeat you Dorbickmon!" he didn't specify what was the plan as he gazed at Dracomon, "If we can get you once, we can get you again!"

The general glared at them.

"I will do everything to assure that we will liberate this kingdom with everyone here!" the boy finished.

Akari sighed and walked by the side of her friend, supporting his decision.

"And with me, we will find out the best way to take you down. You might never see us," Nene added. She looked at the ruler of Dragon Kingdom, "And you are only the first."

Dorbickmon chuckled, "You think you can defeat me?" he pointed his claws at the humans, "Your kind is but a foolish one!"

"So many fools do what they say in our world Dorbickmon," Nene replied with a small confident smile, insulting the dragon ego. She brought her Xros Loader and whispered something.

The Fire-Fury took out his fire sword and went towards them, "I shall finish you now."

Darkknightmon X2 activated his thrusters and charged at Dorbickmon with everything he got.

The Death General jumped to avoid the knight tackling him and prepared to counter-attack. He saw the knight didn't care for him.

The dark knight grabbed Shoutmon and went to the humans and Ballistamon. He knew they had to escape. It was their only way to survive and saved the Weeping Flowers for another time. He showed his hands.

The three humans climbed on Ballistamon who prepared himself to jump on the hand.

"Come on and jump!" Shoutmon was ready to grab them if anyone felt.

Dorbickmon yelled, "You will not escape!" he prepared his cannons to fire at them.

Dracomon suddenly yelled, "Don't do this Dorbickmon!" he added with everything he had within him, "Don't!"

The Fire-Fury stopped as he heard the voice of the blue dragon. He heard a hint of dejection, as if the blue dragon would never forgive him if he did that. Without thinking, he stopped his attack and turned towards Dracomon. The next second, he winced as the Darkness Xros Loader emitted a black aura and made the Digimon to refocus on the enemies of Bagramon and charged his cannons again.

The boy noticed that short hesitations from Dorbickmon, just before Ballisatmon jumped on the hand of the knight.

"Don't stop Darkknightmon!" Nene ordered.

"I'm not insane enough to stop Nene!" he yelled back, pushing the thrusters at its limit.

"Incoming fire!" Shoutmon yelled.

The knight took altitude as he avoided the blast coming from the crimson dragon. He gazed back and saw the dragons chasing after them. They weren't fast enough. Darkknightmon X2 knew they would be far away soon and they would have a chance to hide somewhere. Their scent included.

Taiki looked back once again and said, "We will be back Dracomon. I promise."

Akari sighed, "Damn. That was way too much intense for me."

"You should stay back next time," Nene suggested.

"No. If I can be of any help, I will help you. I can't just leave you face the danger," the girl sighed, "I'll just worry over you."

The boy believed her and sighed, "Well…"

"This is just the beginning. They are six more Death Generals and Bagramon," Shoutmon said as he sat near them, "If it's too much, then maybe you should stay at the village once it's safe."

"No!" she replied loudly and looked at the young dragon, "I cannot let Taiki on his own. I know my friend and he often go too far in anything he does," she crossed her arms, "He might help you when he needs to sleep or eat. He almost passes out once and I had to remind him to eat something," Taiki nervously chuckled as the others turned towards him, "I'll tough it up."

Shoutmon nodded, "Fine," he gazed at his general and hoped that Akari was just exaggerating.

"This wasn't the best moment for that," Darkknightmon X2 commented, "Nene. Find the best location to hide. We are almost out of their reach."

She took out her Xros Loader and checked on the map to see if there was a perfect place to hide. She lightly smiled and said, "Found it. Just follow my plan. It won't be as bad as mud. Believe me."

"I don't care," Akari replied.

The dragons flew in the air and searched for the killers of Huanglongmon. They were carefully searching around for the Digimons and the humans with them.

The soldiers of Dorbickmon did everything they could, but saw nothing standing out. They passed over a lake and slowed down. They carefully observed their surroundings.

"They couldn't have gone that far," one of them grunted.

"That Darkknightmon was very fast. If he didn't stop for a second, we've lost them," another one said.

"Search for any traces of them or Dorbickmon might get our heads for letting them escape!" the third one yelled and they continued forward.

On the lake, they were five bamboo sticks was on the surface. Suddenly, a blue horn began to rise above the lake.

Shoutmon, Sparrowmon, Nene, Taiki and Akari with bamboo sticks in their mouth came to the surface and pulled Ballistamon back underwater with them.

After a few seconds, the bamboo sticks returned to the surface as if nothing happened. For a few minutes, the group remained in the water.

Nene gazed at the others and tapped each of them.

The group returned to the surface and sighed loudly in relief.

"All clear," the girl said as she looked at Taiki and his friend.

Akari nodded, "I thought we were goners."

Shoutmon gazed at the machine Digimon, "Yeah. You came out too early."

"I don't like water," Ballistamon replied.

Sparrowmon replied, "We had to endure it. If they saw you coming out, we would have been attacked."

"We are safe for now," Taiki said. He was about to suggest to go elsewhere when Darkknightmon head came to the surface behind them.

"And it might had been better to put me in the Xros Loader than having me dive with you," the knight grumbled as water came out of the mask.

"You're right," Nene admitted. They didn't think when they had to hide as quickly as possible.

"We should go now. We have to hide," the boy reminded them.

"And plan a plan to end this once and for all," Shoutmon declared as he raised his hand.

"We can't return to the village or their army might find them," Taiki said as he cut that option out.

"I have an idea. Follow me," Nene load in Darkknightmon and the group swum out of the water. They stood up and immediately searched for cover.

AC: This is the end of this chapter. I hope you enjoyed it.

I originally planned to have Darkknightmon already in the Xros Loader when they hid in the lake, but it was funnier if he wasn't.

Next Chapter: How To Bring The Fire-Fury Down?

The group prepared a plan to save Dracomon and stopped Dorbickmon. Taiki decided to hold the promise and save Dorbickmon by searching for a way to break the Dark Xros Loader.
