Jackson and Maggie were all set on board to Seattle. They sat across facing each other.
"So Owens huh?" he said taking a sip of his champagne
"Come on babe, I was his boss at Tufts" Maggie said playfully, it was amusing seeing him getting so worked up by Luke.

"I wanted to tell you before your interview but I thought it wasn't the right time and after we kept missing each other`s calls, besides it`s just a cover"
"Jackson this is big, you made a merman and now you are about to take it global" Maggie said as she laid with her back on his chest "you work so hard and I hope people won`t think you are just riding on your grandfather`s surname because they are not seeing the work you put in all this" she said turning to face him
"That`s okay, as long as the people I love see my hard work that is all that is important. I don`t care about those who don`t know me because people will always have their opinions and they are entitled to them but I won`t let them get to me because those I love know the truth" he said rubbing her cheeks softly. Maggie said nothing but smiled at his words. The ride was smooth and before they knew it they were back in Seattle in no time.
Maggie had told Jackson that she needed to spend the night at her sister`s so she could surprise Bailey. When they got out of the plane they found Catherine waiting for them with Harriet in her hands. Jackson was surprised because Harriet was suppose to be at April`s.
"Oh honey, April had an emergency and this one kept asking for Maggie so I figured why not bring her" Catherine said looking at Maggie who just smiled taking Harriet from Catherine `s hands.
"I am going to ride in the back with my favourite girl" Maggie said rubbing Harriet`s head a little while the little girl rested on her "I am pretty sure this is the first time seeing you drive" she said while Jackson got in the driver`s seat while Maggie sat at the back with Harriet. The ride to Meredith`s was filled with stories of Stanford and how everything was working out but Maggie was strangely quiet with Harriet on her chest which made Jackson to give her a look and say "you okay right there babe?"
"Yeah, I am just a little tired that`s all" she definitely wasn't tired. She wanted this day to be perfect for him and she couldn't exactly do that herself, she could only rely on her sister who wasn't exactly cut out for such things. On the bright side Catherine had offered to help so at least there was that. She smiled to herself looking at Harriet who was wrestling with sleep. Catherine quickly changed the subject but Jackson kept stealing glances at Maggie until they arrived. Maggie got out of the car with Harriet in her hands, Catherine got Harriet and walked into the house with her saying she just needs to see Meredith while Harriet says hello to Ellis. They talked outside the car for a minute, Maggie kissed Jackson goodbye expressing that she needed to sleep early. Jackson opted to stay in the car and wait for his mother. He adjusted his car seat to relax a bit and closed his eyes for a few minutes. When he finally opened his eyes, he checked his watch and realised it had been over 10 minutes, he stepped out of the car and walked to the door. He knocked before opening it, to his surprise it wasn't locked so he walked through calling for his mum but there was no response. He proceeded to the back, which was strangely dark than other days. As soon as he opened the door his heart nearly left his chest when he heard "SURPRISE!" as the lights suddenly came on seeing a big banner written congratulations Dr Avery. There was Meredith, Robert, Amelia, Link, Alex, Jo, Richard, Bailey, Ben, Catherine, Collins and Deluca and he still didn't get why he was being congratulated. He was stricken because he had no idea what was happening, his eyes wandered trying to make sense of it all because it definitely wasn't his birthday. He looked around and saw Maggie approaching him with a glass in her hand. He was still puzzled, shaking his head not knowing what to do.
"Hey" Maggie said
"What is happening?" he said whispering in her ear
"Babe you have been nominated for a CF Award"
"You are not serious" Maggie said nothing but simply nodded her head with one of the biggest smiles. He got so overwhelmed, turned around and walked inside the house away from everyone. Maggie was right on his heels; she closed the door and slowly walked towards where he was. He had his back towards her so she wrapped her arms around his waist and said

"This is embarrassing, all these people seeing me cry, I am just overwhelmed babe and how the hell did you know?" he said looking at her
"Come on, no one saw that you were about to cry" she said smiling at him "so let's go outside and have some drinks, will tell you all about it later when we get home"
"I thought you were staying here" he asked raising an eyebrow
"Well, I lied" she said pulling him so they could move outside and everyone came to congratulate him making small talk and how proud they were of him

"Hey baby" Catherine said tapping his shoulder
"Hey ma" he said turning to look at her "so you knew?""
"Not until today honey, you know I am not involved in all that kind of staff" she said as they stood side by side balancing on the rail.
"Yah I know" Jackson said as his eyes landed on Maggie who had been talking with Meredith, Amelia and Bailey for a while at the other end. They were quiet further away from the crowd so no one could hear their conversation. He smiled looking at her; she was just being her bubbly self chatting away.
"That girl loves you baby, she asked April for Harriet to be here even though she went straight to sleep with Ellis" Catherine said laughing a little "I can see you are happy and that makes me even happier" she said looking at him with her hand on his cheek
"She is amazing mum" he said tilting his head looking at his mum with a big smile plastered on his face "I don`t know what I did to deserve her but she is the one" he continued as he looked back at the direction of where she was but unfortunately Meredith, Amelia and Maggie had all disappeared, he didn't see where they had gone.
"I know" Catherine said putting her arm in his slightly laying her head on his shoulder "now that you have both set the date, have you two looked at what you want?"
"Not really, we set the date yesterday ma so we haven't heard that chance"
"Baby, are you even aware that your wedding is in three months!" Catherine said in a higher voice making Link who was just a few feet away from them to hear.
"What! You guys set a date, when is it and can I at least throw you a bachelor`s?" he said while Catherine shot him with a very un-approving eye.
"Hey man, keep it down, she hasn't even told her sisters yet" Jackson whispered to him not seeing Amelia who was making her way towards them.
"Oh that, she already did" Amelia said in a strangely calm manner
"So can I?" Link pleaded
"Hey Shepherd, how was Baltimore?" Jackson asked awkwardly avoiding Link`s question while Catherine moved to stand next to Bailey who seemed pretty engaged in making a choice of what to pick from all the finger foods that were in front of her
"Dude are you avoiding my question?" Link persisted
"You are just something else, I don`t know if I want one and besides we haven't even announced it yet..."
"Listen up everybody" Catherine said hitting her glass with a little fork so as to get everyone`s attention. Everyone stopped talking looking at her while Maggie and Meredith made their way from inside the house towards where everyone was "my baby is getting married"
"Oh no" Amelia said out loud making Link and Jackson to look at her, she slowly moved away and made her way towards where Maggie and Meredith now stood.
"Catherine" Bailey whispered to her but she ignored her and continued with her speech "yes my son" she paused as her eyes fell on Jackson who was scratching his head slightly avoiding eye contact with her "my boy is getting married on the 21st of September and I couldn't help but share this with you all"
"Well the cat is out of the bag now so what say ye?" Link said
"Oh god, you don`t give up do you?" Jackson mumbled to himself as his eyes looked at Maggie who seemed rather confused whispering something to Meredith who then shrugged her shoulders looking at her little sister.
"So, a toast to my son and my beautiful soon to be daughter in law" she said her eyes moving towards Maggie who let out a very uncomfortable, unconvincing grin that Jackson clearly noticed while everyone raised their glasses to toast for them.
"This is not good" Amelia whispered to Maggie
"Tell me something I don`t already know" Maggie said while still maintaining the grin on her face. She looked at Bailey who just gave her an encouraging look making her to genuinely smile a little. The party continued for a while but because they all had to work the next day, they had to leave while it was still early. The kids had slept already so Maggie and Jackson decided to leave Harriet at Meredith`s.

"So Collins and Deluca, is that a thing?" Jackson asked as he drove them home in his mum`s SUV
"You know, I thought I was the only one who saw that but I don`t know. Are you sad she got over you so quickly?"
"Come on, she has had it rough"
"Yeah, I know" Maggie said in a low tone
"Hey, you okay?"
"I am okay; I am just tired a little"
"Well, from the eventful day you had it`s understandable" he said intertwining their hands placing them in the central console, Maggie couldn't help but smile looking at him.
"It was an eventful day indeed but it was fun, I nearly had an orgasm on a plane and oh oh my favourite one, I think I actually heard a full grown man screaming like a little girl, I hope he is okay now because something must have happened for him to scream like that" she said looking at him

"Okay okay, I get it, you are not a little girl, and you are -strong -powerful -robust -muscular..."
"That`s right, besides you are not the one to talk when it comes to screaming" he said loosening the grip making Maggie to quickly take her hand away from his
"Whatever, you were screaming like a little girl though" she said with a smirk making sure he cannot reach for her hand again.
"Well, that was actually the best part of my day so I am not ashamed of it" he said placing his hand at the back of her neck rubbing it a little
"Really, I thought you would say finding out you were nominated for the CF award would be the best part" she said looking sternly at him.
"That was amazing too, I mean that is something I have always wanted you know, a fair chance at competing with the best but the best part was when my eyes saw you standing by my door, that was the highlight of my day and nothing can top that, well maybe the plane ride would be close" he said intertwining their hands once more placing a kiss on hers
"That was def something, but can we agree that it will never happen again?"
"Which part, you screaming or..." he stopped mid sentence as Maggie knocked his head with her knuckles "okay okay, it's never happening" she stopped and then he smirked and said "that's if you can be able to stop it"
"I am just going to ignore you now okay"
"On a serious note though, how did you know I was nominated and how did you pull that off?" he asked glancing at her.
"Well Mer texted me, I had to make sure no one gets in touch with you so that is why I took your phone" she said handing him his phone while Jackson shook his head
"Just hold on to it" he moved his hand to her cheek rubbing it a little with his thumb while Maggie held onto his arm slightly leaning on it, closing her eyes feeling his soothing touch "thank you babe, this was the best day and I didn't see it coming at all"
"You welcome, am glad you loved it. Your mum helped in organizing because we both know my sister sucks at these things" she said removing her hand from his switching his phone on
"It was perfect, best day ever" he said still rubbing her cheek once more which made Maggie smile, he then moved his hand and placed it on her thigh rubbing it back and fourth
"Wow, looks like you got like hundred texts"
"Yeah, probably people sending their congratulations and all that, do you mind checking if there is anything urgent?" he said removing his hand so he could make a turn using both hands. Maggie scrolled through "oh, Khan says we have a session tomorrow so we need to let him know when we are both free"
"Okay, just let him know when you are free because I am flexible" Jackson said as they stopped by the traffic light
"Okay, done" she said putting his phone in the central console as they continued driving
"So about the wedding, since the word is now out, thanks to my mother" he said looking at her but s
"Yeah" she looked out the window at the city light "I mean what was that?" she said with annoyance
"You know my mum, she gets a little excited sometimes"
"That was not her place Jackson, she crossed the line" Maggie said raising her voice looking at him
"I get it babe and I am sorry" he said calmly even though he was a little puzzled by her sudden change of her tone "I will talk to her tomorrow okay"
"You don`t need to because it`s already done, it`s not like she can take it back now" she tilted her head to look outside
"Babe I get that you are upset but we are getting married on the 21st so it`s not like she lied or anything" he said looking at her but Maggie kept quiet "I actually think we should start to seriously talk about the wedding because we don`t have much time honestly unless if there is something you want to tell me that I am not aware of"
Maggie turned her head and looked at him, he was right, Catherine might have crossed the line but she sure was blowing it out of proportion. She gave him a warm smile and held on his free hand putting it in between hers and said "today was a great day, how about we get ourselves home and we continue to enjoy it without adding other things, how does that sound?"
"Okay, if that`s what you want" he said as the gate to their building opened for them to get in.

The next day
Maggie had notified Khan they would meet him during their lunch hour and he had been kind enough to offer to come to the hospital so that they would have more time. She had come in earlier because he had a surgery with Amelia on a woman who had a stroke. They were now scrubbing out when Amelia spoke
"You know, you are terrible at hiding things and I take it you haven't told him"
"Amelia please"
"What exactly is your plan here Maggie?" Maggie said nothing but just looked at her sister "don`t tell me you are thinking what I am thinking"
"Amelia, what would you do if you were in my position" she said drying her hands
"Huh, don`t ask me, I don`t know but I think you should talk to him, he deserves that at least"
"He is so happy and he wants to talk about wedding planning and everything thanks to Catherine`s big mouth?" she said rolling her eyes as Meredith walked in
"Hey, you need to talk to Jackson because he knows something is up and I can`t exactly avoid him forever"
"I know but right now I need to go, we got a session with Khan in a few minutes" Maggie said walking away leaving her sisters puzzled
"Poor thing" Amelia said as they both watched Maggie disappear from their sight
