Author's Note: I'm so excited for this chapter, are you?! Can't wait to see how Hermione will react when things don't go her way? I won't keep you any longer. Btw, this is a filler chapter.

LET'S GET ON WITH THE STORY!...

Previously on My Boy Band Soulmate...

"I like you." Gustavo finally said. Hermione wasn't paying attention, pissed off at Luna for helping the boys. Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw her sister's Maserati pull up.

I guess I might have a few words with my dear beloved sister. Hermione glared and walked out of the mansion with a mission. The other people inside were scared and surprised when Hermione slammed the door open and it hit the wall, almost leaving a dent in it.

Now...

Hermione walked up to her sister's car. Luna turned to her with a smile, but it dropped when she saw the look on Hermione's face. Luna was confused why Hermione looked so pissed off.

Luna got out of her car and turned to her sister with a confused look. "What happened, Hermione?" She asked, thinking that she was mad at somebody else.

Merlin was she wrong.

"You know what fucking happened." Hermione hissed at her. Luna was taken aback at her sister's harshness towards her.

"What are you talking about? Why are you angry at me?" Luna asked, completely confused at her sister's behavior.

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. You thought that I wouldn't notice your trace of magic everywhere?" Hermione gritted through her teeth.

Luna furrowed her brows. "What's the problem?" She asked. Hermione rolled her eyes dramatically, making Luna huff.

"What's the problem? The problem is that you helped them not get fired! You helped them clean up the mansion so now they get to fucking stay here!" Hermione said, her voice steadily rising and Luna putting up a silencing charm before Hermione did so.

"What's the fucking problem of helping them not get fired?! I thought that helping friends was okay?" Luna raised her voice.

"Oh it is, but not those fucking idiots!" Hermione pointed to the door of the mansion, to where the boys, Kelly, and Gustavo were staring at the silent screaming match with wide eyes.

"What's your fucking problem with them?! They haven't done shit to you!" Luna yelled right back.

"My problem with them is that my fucking soulmate is in that bloody band! I could've gotten rid of them once and for all!"

"Why do you want to get rid of your fucking soulmate?! You need him!"

Hermione snorted and crossed her arms. "Yeah, try taking your own advice."

Luna rolled her eyes. "At least I'm not sending him away forever!"

Hermione clenched her fists. "You know how I fucking feel about the soulmate crap!"

"Yes I do, and frankly, I don't agree with you."

"Well I don't fucking care about that bloody shit! What I care about is all those thousands of lives being taken by that FUCKING WITCH!" Hermione stalked closer to her. Luna didn't faze but narrowed her eyes.

"I care about those people too, you know?! I was in the fucking war with you! I'm not blind or deaf! You need your fucking soulmate, you deserve him." Luna lowered her voice at the end.

Hermione shook her head and laughed bitterly. "You don't understand. I don't deserve him. I needed to send him away so I could focus on training myself...so he won't get attracted by the soulmate bond..." Hermione trailed off. She ran a hand through her hair frustratedly, making Carlos walk forward to comfort her, but the guys held him back with a shake of their heads.

Luna walked up to Hermione and put a hand on her shoulder. "You do deserve him. I don't deserve James at all. Please Hermione, you need him." She tried to convince her.

"The day I believe that is the day you will." Hermione hissed. She slapped Luna's hand off and everyone in the back was looking at her concerned and confused at what just occurred between the sisters.

Hermione turned to her sister one last time. "Come and talk to me when you've gotten your facts right." Hermione spat.

Luna glared at her sister. "Well come and talk to me when you don't have that stick shoved far up your arse." She retorted.

Hermione was contemplating on whether to hex Luna or not, but she decided not to when the boys, Kelly, and Gustavo are looking directly at them. She let up the silencing charm and turned to walk away. I'm not that petty...Well, maybe I am.

She changed her mind at the last moment and wandlessly sent Luna a pretty nasty stinging hex. She knew she hit her mark without turning around, judging by the quiet hiss that she heard escape Luna's lips.

The band and the producers could suddenly hear everything in front of them now instead of the buzzing in their ears. They were looking around trying to search for why they couldn't hear the sisters and the source of the buzzing noise, but they couldn't find anything. Luna looks up from looking at her increasingly swelling side to look at the 6 confused people and gave them a tight lipped smile.

"Well, I guess we'll be on our way now." Hermione heard Luna. She scoffed quietly so that no one heard her. She continued to walk down the sidewalk, intending to apparate to the alleyway behind the PalmWoods.

In a few seconds, she heard a car engine coming closer and in her peripherals, she saw Luna's red Maserati pass by. She rolled her eyes and looked at the car to see all the boys looking at her warily, Carlos looking at her in concern in worry. She glared at them, making them turn away, except Carlos.

She saw Luna's mouth move and the next second, Carlos is forcibly turned away by his friends. Hermione felt her chest ache at that, but she ignored it and kept on walking. She clenched her fists.

I am not supposed to be thinking this way, he shouldn't even be in my thoughts. Hermione went inside her impenetrable Occlumency walls and put all thoughts on Carlos in a box, locked it, and put it deep in her mind. Her vision blurred and came back to normal as her mind came back to the visible world and kept on walking normally out of the fancy neighborhood that terribly reminded her of the area that she used to live in when she was little.

She got out of the gated community and continued walking past the different stores until she found an alleyway. She looked around the alleyway to see if it was truly empty before she disapparated.

With Luna...

"Well, I guess we'll be on our way now." She told the record producer and his assistant. She gestured with her head to the car so the boys will get the hint that they needed to leave now. Luckily, the boys understood, so they hurriedly put their stuff in the trunk and got into the car, but not without sending Luna a concerned look.

Once she knew that the boys were in the car, Luna lifted her shirt and sure enough, her side was quickly swelling. She was used to the pain, so she let it go and moved on to her car. Surprisingly, she didn't see Hermione's hex coming- she should've known.

Unbeknownst to her, all the boys' eyes widened at the sight of Luna's red side swelling like a gigantic mosquito bite. James especially was concerned how she ended up getting injured.

Did it happen while she was cleaning the house? She seemed fine then. It couldn't have been Hermione, she didn't touch Luna there. I hope Luna is okay... James thought. He was worried that Luna was in pain, but her face showed otherwise.

Luna got inside the car and was met with silence. She sighed silently, but the boys could still see it. She backed out of the driveway and drove out of the neighborhood.

Not even seconds after driving off when they saw Hermione walking on the sidewalk. All the boys turned to Luna's sister warily, thinking that she was going to yell at them or do something crazy. Carlos didn't care. He was just worried about her.

Is she okay?! How is Luna expecting her sister to get home? She doesn't have a ride and the PalmWoods is far from here! I really hope she makes it back okay. Hopefully some creep doesn't touch her-

Carlos suddenly stilled, fists balling up at the thought. His eyes narrowed as a scene formed in his mind. If anyone was looking into his eyes, they would see some wisps of black flickering around his irises.

Luna looked through the review mirror and saw the boys abruptly turn away from looking at her sister. With her animagus abilities, she saw the wisps in Carlos's eyes and immediately took action.

"Make him stop looking at my sister." She told the boys. They complied without hesitation and grabbed Carlos's head to force him to face forward. She sighed in exasperation and continued to drive to the PalmWoods. She wasn't usually this bossy, but she didn't want things to get out of hand. Carlos didn't retaliate and looked forward, but his last infuriating thoughts were still lingering in his mind.

With Hermione...

Hermione apparated into the back alleyway that was behind the PalmWoods. She walked to the entrance of the alleyway and looked around before deeming that is was safe to walk out into the sidewalk without people looking at her suspiciously.

She decided to walk around the park to calm herself down before she went back inside to train. She looked around and spotted out things that made her feel content...well content enough.

The sun's rays peeling through the bright green trees, the kids playing with a frisbee and a kickball, 3 teen girls having a picnic, talking and laughing at whatever, a couple kissing and completely in love.

Hermione snorted at that. Yeah, that's not going to last for long. I wish I could be just as carefree and joyful as these people. She thought bitterly. Huh. This is how Harry felt when the entire fate of England and maybe the world was on his shoulders. I need to stop this before that vile woman kills and eviscerates everybody.

Don't worry England, I'm coming.

And with that last thought, she walked inside the PalmWoods with the mission of going to her personalized gym and practicing with the dummies. She walked into the lobby thankfully without a distraction and continued walking until she reached the elevators. When she entered the elevators, unexpectedly, the three Jennifers that she had yet to meet walked into the elevator after her.

The three girls looked like they ate something sour when they turned to her. Hermione ignored them and they ignored her...until the blond decided to say something.

"Oh hun, why did you get so much plastic surgery? It's not very appealing on you." All three girls laughed and clutched their stomachs. Hermione wasn't in the mood right now to deal with their shit, so she took action.

Dropping her backpack full of her things she took to North Carolina, Hermione growled and hit the button to stop the elevator before turning to grab all 3 of the girls' hair. The girls screamed and started protesting and trying to hit Hermione, but she yanked their hair harder so that they bended backwards and they couldn't do anything besides whimper.

"Considering that fact that you bloody bints are the only people in this elevator that have destroyed their body with plastic surgery?" She asked, a bit of her British accent accidentally slipping through. "Yeah, don't think that people believe that you are 'all natural'." Hermione laughed sharply, making the girls flinch. She leaned up against their ears and smirked at the fact that they were tearing up. "You know, it really doesn't look flattering when you do plastic surgery. I can see the results for myself." Hermione looked up and down at the girls with a disgusted face.

"I think I need to flush my eyes out with soap from looking at your bloody disgusting things you all call bodies." She hissed.

Hermione was tugging to hard on their hair that blood was actually seeping through the small bald spots that she was creating. The girls were openly crying because of the pain and the fact that Hermione found out their secret.

"Now run away before this ends up worse for you." She let go of their hairs and they all fell to the ground, clutching their hair. The curly-haired teenager looked at the blond's head before screaming at the sight of blood behind their head. They all look at Hermione in terror. The said girl formed a face that made it look as if she ate a lemon.

"Don't you dare talk to me or my sister that way or the consequences will not be in your favor." Hermione was still pissed off at what Luna did, but she will never stand someone else talking shit about her sister.

The brunette finally spoke up. "You freak!" She shrieked and Hermione was suddenly reminded of when Harry told her the way his Aunt Petunia would speak to him.

Her eyes flashed dangerously and her head snapped to the brunette, who recoiled at the sight of a pissed off Hermione. The witch walked up to her and grabbed her arm to yank her up abruptly. The girls looked on in terror as Hermione stood there not moving.

CRACK!

Nobody saw it coming, but in a split second, the brunette was slumped down against the wall, unconscious and with a broken and bloody nose. Hermione scowled and turned to the other girls, who squeaked when they made eye contact with the witch.

"Do anyone have anything else to say?" She snarled. When there was no answer, she hit the button again and the doors opened to the 5th floor. She grabbed her bag that she dropped to the floor earlier when threatening the dreadful girls and exited the elevator, but not without giving the girls one last withering look that made them tremble with fear.

Hermione rolled her eyes. Bloody bints. She stalked off in the direction of her room.

She entered the empty apartment and threw her bag onto the couch, immediately going to her room to change into regular clothes and shoes that didn't kill her feet. The witch forgot breakfast and lunch as she went to the gym and proceeded to destroy the dummies and punching bags until she passed out from magical exhaustion.

With Luna and the boys...

The entire car ride was full of awkward and uncomfortable silence, so Luna decided to pull down the top and roll down the windows.

The sun was blazing but nobody in the car was complaining, they all wanted to avoid the awkward conversation that was bound to occur. When Luna felt the heat, she almost died right then and there.

"How the hell do you all survive in this heat?" She started fanning herself and put up a nonverbal and wandless cooling charm over herself, she instantly felt better. The boys momentarily forgot what occurred between the sisters and they all started chuckling.

"To be honest, I don't know. Minnesota was never hot let alone warm and we've lived there most of our lives." Logan thought about how the 4 boys got used to the completely opposite temperatures than what they were used to in Minnesota.

"Wait, what do you mean most of your lives?" Luna got lucky when she caught that piece of information because she didn't feeling like racking up her brain for a conversation starter.

The boys smiled as they felt a wave of nostalgia as they were thinking about the day they all became best friends.

*Flashback*

Kendall, Carlos, and James were eating in the cafeteria talking about the class that they just had.

"Oh man! Did you all see Mitch's face! That was so funny!" James said and they all roared in laughter.

"Remember when he looked like he wanted to yell at the teacher or cry his eyes out? 'Don't send me to the principal's office!'" Kendall mocked the 2nd grade bully and they all roared in laughter again.

Mitch Stewart was a bully. Simple as that. He harassed all students in the 3rd grade and below besides Kendall, James, and Carlos because they were the only ones who could actually do some damage to him.

James's mother was very wealthy and influential, so she could snap her fingers and Mitch along with his family would be sent to another state. Kendall was best friends with James so Kendall was off limits too, but he was also very verbal and intellectual with his attacks so that counted. Carlos was the only kid in the school that could rival Mitch in strength, even though Mitch was taller and fatter than the boy. Mitch made the mistake one time to try to bully Carlos, but...let's just say that it didn't end well. Mitch had escaped with 2 black eyes and a split lip that night. Now he cowered whenever he got close to Carlos.

Carlos was not the violent type, but if you push the right buttons, you're in for a world full of pain. Of course, Carlos's parents grounded him that day when they picked him up from the principal's office, but Carlos could still see the proud smile on his father's face (that he failed to conceal) and the slight smirk on his mother's. Other than that incident, Carlos has never fought with anybody because he was too nice (unless the person was a bully, he would never tolerate that), but that still didn't count for his reckless behavior and always somehow ended up hurting someone at the end of the day by accident.

As the boys were laughing they saw the cafeteria grow quiet, earning them some head turns when they were the only ones making noise in the cafeteria. They immediately sobered up when they realized that the whole school was quiet. They all thought that the students were looking at them, but they all saw everybody's heads' turned to one of the entrances of the cafeteria.

The boys quickly turn to the entrance to see what everybody else was looking at when they saw Mitch Stewart and a new student that had books in his hands.

The boy was very clean and precise with his attire and he looked smart. The boy was trying to appear fearless, which was a fail because you could see the very obvious fear judging by the way his eyes were widened slightly and his body was trembling.

The 3 boys glanced at each other in silent question before they all nodded in agreement. They stood up and went over to the entrance because no one ever had the balls to stand up to the bully, even the fifth graders because 3rd grade Mitch was just as tall as them.

They got there close enough to see Mitch slap his hands on the books in the boy's arms and they all crashed to the floor in a flurry of papers.

Kendall spoke up. "Hey Mitch!" He shouted as the 3 boys walked up to the scene, slightly sneering at the bully. They really hated bullies with all their might. Mitch turned his fat face around before he blanched at the sight of the only people in the school who could stand up to him.

The 3 boys ignored him in favor of looking at the nerdy skinny boy who started gathering his papers and books. James hurriedly went to go help the boy clean up while Carlos stayed behind to intimidate Mitch while Kendall did all the talking.

"Why don't you pick on someone your own size?" Kendall narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms, Carlos copying his movements. To an adult, Carlos would look silly with his helmet on, but to everybody who knew, that helmet was hard as fuck.

"Stay out of this, Knight." Mitch didn't want to physically do anything to him in fear of retaliation, so he stayed where he was.

"If you want to bully him, you're going to have to go through all of us." Kendall pointed to the boy, who finally got everything back in his arms with the help of James, who draped his arm on the shoulders of the new boy and sauntered back to where Kendall and Carlos resided. Carlos gave him a toothy smile (he had a missing tooth from a hockey accident) and the boy returned his greeting with a nervous one.

Mitch's nose flared and he clenched his fists, so Carlos decided to intervene. He stepped in front of Kendall, who was smirking at the clear fear and blood drainage that was dawning on the pudgy boy's face. Carlos scowled before turning away and walking back to their table, knowing that Mitch wasn't following them. Kendall and James followed, James dragging the new boy along.

When they got to their table, the cafeteria was back to its original state because the scene was over. The boys all sat around, the boy between Carlos and James. They all turn to him with bright smiles and Kendall spoke as the unofficial "leader" of their group.

"I'm Kendall Knight." He started off.

"James Diamond."

"Carlos Garcia."

"So what's your name?" He finished. The boy was staring at all of them warily and placed his books of the table with slightly shaky hands.

"H-Hortense Logan Mitchell." He answered. (In a few years, James's mum will demand that they call him Logan instead, which was the name that they stuck to after that).

"Well Hortense. You are going to be our new best friend." The 3 boys all smiled at him brightly.

"No, exceptions." James added with a wink.

Then, Logan truly smiled for the first time since he arrived in Minnesota.

*Flashback ended*

The boys were to busy reminiscing at the memory that they failed to see that they were parked at the PalmWoods. They all shook out of the memory to see Luna staring at all of them with an raised brow, amused at their "far-away" looks that they donned only a moment ago.

"Come on, you guys can tell me the story inside." She nodded her head over to the building complex. They all nodded until they heard grumbling sounds and they all clutched their stomachs at the same time.

"I guess we can have breakfast too because we didn't have dinner last night." Kendall said. The rest of the guys nodded vehemently and scrambled out of the car at the mention of a meal. She actually forgot about the meal, which wasn't a good thing if she was trying to get better. Luna shook her head sadly, thinking about how the boys just reminded her of the Weasleys. The Weasley boys always had a large appetite and could shovel food down their throats (besides Percy and Mr. Weasley).

She shook herself out of those thoughts before they led to something dark and the guys would get concerned. She grabbed her keys from her pocket and closed the hood. She then followed them into the lobby, but before they continued to the boys apartment, they were interrupted.

"AHH!" They all pause in their movements to hear blood-curdling screams that pounded in Luna's eardrums. Luna stood up straight and alert, facing the direction of the screams, looking to see where the impending danger was.

She got into a stance, ready to fire at any moment's notice. This didn't escape James, who was already trying to protect her from the "danger", because he was staring at her, wondering why Luna was in a guarded stance and why she had one in the first place.

James sees movement out of the corner of his eye and turns to see the 3 Jennifers running away from the direction of the elevators, clutching their heads. They passed by the guys and Luna before they stilled in fear, turning slowly to face Luna. Once Luna knew that nothing was chasing the girls, she turned to them with raised brows.

Luna was baffled as to why she could smell blood on all them (cause she could clearly see the broken nose on one girl) and why they turned to her in complete fear. Luna was baffled yet again when the 3 girls tripped over themselves and fell unceremoniously onto the floor on their butts, shifting backwards in fear that Luna might do something. Luna brushed the surface of their minds to see their memories of the last few minutes.

"...plastic surgery? It's not very appealing on you." The girls laugh at Hermione...

Hermione yanking on their hair, drawing blood...

"You freak!"...

CRACK!...

Luna pulled away from their minds and gave the girls a menacing glare. She didn't care that her and Hermione were in an argument, no one talks to her sister that way. The girls cowered before crawling away quickly and darting out of the building.

Luna looked around to see the boys looking at her with weird looks and the rest of the room looking at the entrance where the bloody girls ran out. Complete silence filled the room and Luna smirked.

I don't care that we are mad at each other, I'm so fucking proud of her. This is part of the reason why I love her, because of her "I don't take shit" personality. Luna thought, crossing her arms before she walked past the guys and headed to the elevators.

After the longest ride in the elevator (was it just her, or was the elevator taking forever?) and some odd looks thrown her way, they ended up at 2J.

As soon as Kendall opened the door to the apartment, Carlos bounded to the kitchen to find something to eat. The boys went to the living room to chill while Luna just stood there in the dining room, feeling like an intruder.

At that moment, Carlos slowly walked to where she was standing with two corn dogs in his hands. He hesitantly walked up to her and offered her one of the corn dogs. She looked at the offered piece of meat before looking up at Carlos's nervous face. Just to ease his nerves, she smiled at him gently before taking the held out dog.

Carlos bit into his corn dog as Luna did with hers. Carlos quickly swallowed before looking at Luna in the face.

"So...what happened earlier? I mean with Hermione?" He asked, his eyes darting everywhere nervously.

Luna froze. She wasn't expecting this question already. Personally, she'd rather be asked about the three bleeding girls. She swallowed her small bite. "I don't know. We have arguments all the time, but this one was different than the rest." She said, staring off into space, looking a lot like her old self.

When Luna realized this, tears started forming in her eyes. Carlos's eyes widened. He didn't know what to do with a crying girl. But before he could try and comfort her, Luna's eyes went back to normal. He breathed out a sigh of relief.

Luna smiled, fake of course. "I'm sorry I can't tell you what our argument was about, but I can tell you that this might last for a while." She grimaced and took a bite of her corn dog.

Carlos nodded. "No yeah, I understand." Before he could say anymore, James called from the couch.

"Hey guys! Come sit over here!" He patted the seat next to him as an invitation for Luna to sit down. Luna hesitated because everything in her was telling her to bugger it all and sit on his lap, but she surprisingly held herself back.

She walked over to the couches and sat in the empty space right next to Logan, who smiled at her. She smiled back and quickly glanced at James to see him with his eyes narrowed and a look of jealously written all over his face. Luna huffed and crossed her legs like a proper lady.

"So what do you guys do when you're not being a band?" She tried to get the conversation going. They all looked at her with the same hesitant expression that Carlos had earlier.

"Before we get into that, what happened with Hermione?" Kendall asked and all the boys looked at her.

Luna huffed quietly. She really didn't want to dwell on that. "As I told Carlos, I can't tell you what the argument was about, but I can tell you that it was different than others."

"What was it about?" James pressed. She narrowed her eyes in annoyance.

"...Personal things." She swallowed a ball in the back of her throat.

Logan, not wanting to have a crying girl on their hands, changed the subject. "Anyways, what happened with the Jennifers'?" He asked curiously, albeit with a bit of fear.

Luna's eyes flashed, but her expression stayed indifferent. "I don't know what you're talking about." She said, tilting her head in fake confusion.

Kendall scoffed. "You know... the three girls that were screaming and covered in blood? They looked at you like you were the devil." He gave her a pointed look.

Realization dawned on her. "Oh! You mean those bloody sluts." She murmured the last part under her breath. She wasn't as quiet as she would've like as Logan bristled and flushed at her words. Her head snapped up to look at his blushing face. She gave him a shrug.

"Well it's true." She whispered closely in his ear, not wanting the others to hear. James immediately jumped up.

"Alright, that's enough chit chat. I, for one, would like to spend the day at the pool with this lovely lady right here." He pulled Luna up and draped an arm around her shoulders, throwing the corn dog to the floor, much to Carlos's dismay. Luna's heart fluttered at his words, but she resisted and shrugged his arm off, much to his disappointment.

"No, no. I would love to talk about those Jennifers'. They have had quite a meeting with my sister..." She smirked, not worrying at the moment about her stubborn sister.

The guys' eyes widened exponentially. "You mean...that Hermione...Hermione did all...that?!" They yelled.

Luna only smirked. "Of course she did. Do you take her for a damsel in distress?" She retorted, absentmindedly moving her left hand over her right forearm where her wand was. She glanced over at Carlos to see him with a conflicted but prideful expression. She knew exactly what he was thinking and sympathized with him in her head.

Man, could Hermione get any more perfect? To be honest, I think she would look even more sexy when she's mad. STOP CARLOS! Jeez! Already becoming a pervert? Get those damn dirty thoughts out of your head! We can't be thinking about her anymore! He thought. He tried desperately to stop clinging onto the thought of Hermione in his arms, but something was tugging him back. He looked up as if nothing happened, and luckily, the guys' didn't see him. But Luna did.

"I really don't want to mess with her." Logan said shakily. Luna just smirked.

"Well since James here threw my corn dog to the floor, we can go have breakfast while you all tell me about the day you guys met." She said with a convincing smile. The guys' smiled back brightly and eagerly stood up, excited to tell someone else about how their endless friendship came to be.

It took them a while, but Luna didn't want to help them in favor of wanting to see how well their cooking is. After about 30 minutes, they all heard the oven ding and the guys' rushed to the kitchen while Luna stayed in the living room.

She knew they burned whatever they were making because she smelled it 10 minutes ago. It was so bad, that she couldn't even pinpoint what they were making. She smirked when she heard the inevitable shriek coming from behind the counter. She sighed and stood up to fix their mess and make breakfast.

She walked up to see them all coughing and smoke coming from the oven. She rolled her eyes.

"You guys are 18 and you all can't cook! Not even the 4 of you together can come up with something!" She crossed her arms in annoyance and raised a brow at their stupidity. "What were you all trying to make anyways?" She swatted the smoke away as she coughed.

They sheepishly smiled and pointed to some charred rocks. "Dino nuggets." Kendall said in a small voice. Luna looked at the pan and looked up at the sheepish boys.

"You guys made chicken nuggets at 10 in the morning?" Luna raised an unimpressed brow. Idiots they are. She thought, rolling her eyes.

"Okay. Would you all like to go out to eat or would you like for me to make breakfast?" She sighed, rubbing her face.

"I vote we go out to eat." James stated. The rest of the boys nodded quickly and raced to get their stuff. Luna was going to tell them to clean up the mess, but before she did, she was yanked from the elbow by an eager James.

She slapped his hand away and he looked at her. "Don't touch me." She warned. James reeled back and pouted at her, but she ignored him (no matter how much she wanted to snog him) and continued walking with the other three.

They took her to a local restaurant and they sat her down at the booth. When she entered the place, she was dizzy by the onslaught of maple syrup coating every inch of the place. Much to her dismay, James sat next to her with Logan on her other side.

Throughout breakfast (although it was 2 o'clock already), the guys told her all about how they all met and their adventures they had together. She wasn't really focusing when all her attention was under the table where James's thigh was brushing against hers. She shivered the first time he did it, and unfortunately for her, James caught the action and ended up doing it purposefully again and again. She couldn't handle the raw desire of wanting to touch her soulmate, but she pushed through and heard a little bit of their conversation.

Currently, the guys were talking about their prank that they pulled one time on their 6th grade teacher. I don't even know what 6th grade is. Merlin, they remind me a bit of the Marauders that Harry was telling us about before. Her mood dropped a little, thinking about her late brother.

James somehow sensed this and turned to see the forced smile she was sporting. She couldn't hide her fake smile this time. "Is everything alright?" He asked. The boys went silent as they realized Luna wasn't paying attention to their stories of many pranks.

Luna stiffened when she realized that she had each of their attention. She cleared her throat. "Yes...I-uh need to go to the restroom." She said. Logan quickly got out of the booth and she scooted away from a pouting James and walked fast over to the toilets.

She hurried to the sink and slashed cold water on her face. Sweet Morgana, Luna! Get your shit together! We cannot afford to be with James, we don't deserve him! Now go out there and avoid him as much as possible! She scolded herself.

A little part of her wanted them to get fired for the same reason as Hermione (but she won't tell her that), but if she wanted to get Hermione and Carlos together, she needed them to stay. She would've let them get fired if that meant that James won't be attracted by the soulmate bond.

She sighed and walked out of the bathrooms with a mission.

The rest of Luna's day went fine, except for the fact that Camille and Jo chided her when she told them that her and Hermione got into an argument. When she separated from the boys so they could go clean up their mess, the 2 girls walked up to her and asked where Hermione was before explaining everything to them (omitting the details of the argument, she couldn't tell them that).

After the three ate dinner at Jo's apartment, she headed up to her own apartment. Luckily for her, she avoided her sister and went straight to her room.

As she was changing, she saw that the hex Hermione threw at her was still there, albeit not as bad as before. She healed her side with a flick of her hand and put on pajamas. She fell asleep soon after with the touches of James's thigh still lingering.

With Hermione the next morning...

Hermione Granger Potter-Black woke up with a groan. Her whole body was sore from the exertion that she put herself through. It also didn't help that she slept on the cold, hard floor all night.

She heaved herself up and headed to the bathroom to take a shower and clean off her dried sweat. When she was done, she changed to jeans and a T-shirt, not caring if she was going to work like that, and headed to the kitchen. She knew Luna would not get out of her room to avoid a confrontation, so Hermione didn't care. She made herself some tea and sat on the couch again, reading Hogwarts: A History to get her mind off things.

She was too engrossed in the book she read about a million times already that she didn't even see (or just didn't want to see) Luna come quietly into the kitchen and make herself some tea.

Hermione took that moment to find a pastry to fill her up with as her stomach grumbled. She was going to force herself to eat even if it meant shoving it in her mouth because she needed to build her strength when she would inevitably go back to the British Wizarding World. She stood up and didn't acknowledge the tense Luna by the counter and went straight to the pastries that Luna brought yesterday.

She heard Luna scoff and her her mumble, "Typical", but she still didn't acknowledge the blonde. She just went back to her reading and waited for Luna to leave to Jo and Camille.

When the door slammed shut, she closed the book and placed it down on the coffee table. She combed her fingers through her beautiful curly hair and sighed deeply.

She felt a twinge of regret for taking out her rage on Luna, but in her defense, Luna did help them not get fired. She held onto that thought and stood up with every intention to go to the park and sit down. Hermione felt lucky that Kelly told her yesterday that they were going to have this day off after being on the plane all night. Right now, she was going to calm herself down before she had to go to work in an hour.

She went through the lobby with no confrontation (although she saw Katie looking at her in suspicion as she passed by the little girl) and headed over to the park, but not without placing cooling charms over herself. Seriously, how do people survive in this weather? She thought. For the first time, she regretted moving to Los Angeles to see her uncle.

She sat down for quite a while, basking in the scent of freshly made corn dogs, the sound of children laughing, and the general noise of the gossip between the teenagers.

To be frank, that was one thing that she was for sure not going to miss from Hogwarts. She heard all the nasty rumors that spread like wildfire throughout the 5 years she has been there.

With her highly trained war senses, she felt someone coming towards her. She didn't look, but made it look like she didn't know they were coming.

She stilled as the person sat down next to her. A quick glance told her that her uncle sat next to her and was looking around the park with a fond expression. If anything, that made her nervous. Her heart was beating rapidly in her chest as her ignorant uncle sat next to her.

"Beautiful morning, isn't it?" He asked, not even looking at her. She nodded stiffly and stayed facing forward.

The next moment, she felt his gaze on her. She didn't dare look to avoid his knowing look.

"What happened?" He rasped out. Hermione jumped as her heart skipped a beat at the question. She was shocked at his sudden change of tone and the raw emotion in his voice.

She couldn't help but face him, a denial readily up on her lips. But it faded away when she saw the unshed tears fill his eyes, her heart aching. She never wanted to see her uncle like that.

"I'm sorry." Was all that came out of her mouth. "I'm so sorry." She choked out, letting her emotions seep through. Mr. Bitters didn't hesitate to wrap her up in a hug, Hermione hugging him back just as tightly.

Merlin, how she missed her uncle's bear hugs. She hadn't felt this in a while and relished in the warmth that only her uncle could give.

"I've missed you Uncle Reggie." She sniffled quietly.

Reginald chuckled softly. "It's been a while since I've heard you say that." He pulled back from the hug.

Hermione gave him a nod, but didn't have the energy to smile.

"As much as I would like to catch up, I really have to get to work. I missed yesterday and I don't want to get fired." She grimaced at the thought.

Bitters just nodded with a sympathetic smile. "I know exactly what your talking about." He said as they stood up to go their separate ways.

She hugged him one more time. "It's good to see you again." Her voice was muffled by his chest. She let go a hurriedly went to her car.

When she arrived at work, she ignored the young receptionist as the blonde who wore way too much makeup shot daggers at Hermione. She honestly couldn't understand what in the world she did to earn herself that reaction, but she let it slide, her emotions still on the happier side from officially reuniting with her Uncle Reggie as his niece.

To be continued... ;)

Author's Note: How was that? I'm sorry this took forever. I'm getting ready to take my finals, and I'm scared shitless.
