I'm back! As you can probably tell, I kinda gave up on the whole daily updates thing. Instead, this fic will update sporadically, whenever I have the time and inspiration strikes me. So sorry if you actually like these, but updates will not be frequent.

This chapter is about Miyuki. Don't know who she is? I don't blame you. She was the first member of Toguro's Demon Triad in the Rescue Yukina arc, essentially a mook to show how strong Yusuke and Kuwabara were and to further Tarukane's betting. What really caught my attention though was the fact that she was transgender. Yusuke found this out in a typical Yusuke manner (The family jewels have not been stolen.) and proceeded to beat the crap out of her despite this. The anime kind of bowdlerized this moment, but in the original manga I believe Yusuke basically said something along the lines of "Who cares about her gender? She could be an old lady for all I care and I'd still beat her up!"

Ah, Yusuke. So refreshing in the face of literally any societal norms.

I would like to disclaim that I know very little about crossdressing and the mentality of transgender people. I have no intention to offend anyone with an incorrect portrayal, and I deeply apologize if I do.

Disclaimer: I don't own YYH.

Miyuki was a woman.

Of course, most people didn't really see it that way. Back in Demon World, concepts like gender were often considered unimportant, trifling concerns. After all, what did it matter what someone's gender was if they were more powerful than you? So no one really cared who you liked or who you felt like, as long as you were powerful enough to hold your own. But that also meant that many demons and humans alike considered her a man, purely because her physical body was male.

But Miyuki was definitely a woman, and the surgery that would make her body match her spirit was expensive. So here she was, working for the Toguro brothers in Human World, scraping together funds for her operation. She disliked it, chafing under the orders and restrictions, but it paid well. At this rate, she could afford the surgery in ten years, give or take.

However, Human World apparently had very different ideas on gender than Demon World. Women were expected to be soft, fragile things, and men often had amusing reactions to her, sometimes refusing to fight her outright out of some twisted sense of honour. She found it delicious, how they would quibble about not wanting to hit a girl, right before she would slash their throats with her whip and silence them altogether.

So she played up her femininity. While she had always dressed like a woman, she began to act like a temptress, wearing skimpy clothing that gave suggestions as to her figure, spending some of her hard-earned money on a tight undersuit with full breasts and heavy, sultry makeup. Now when men looked at her, they looked at her with lust in their eyes, taking in the feminine beauty she worked so hard to achieve. She found she liked it, the feel of their eyes on her, the blatant want in their gazes. It made her feel like an object of desire, like she was already a woman, inside and out.

And when a young boy beat her into a wall and proceeded to acknowledge her as a woman despite knowing how her body didn't reflect that, she smiled. This was no foolish man utterly incapacitated by her femininity. This was someone who treated her as an equal, who didn't care about her body or her gender as long as she was his opponent. He would fit in quite well in Demon World, she mused, with an attitude like that.

And even when the Toguros were defeated and she found herself unpaid and out of a job, Miyuki couldn't find it in herself to be angry. After all, she was patient. She could wait. And in the meantime, human men could be so fun.

TBH, I really like that Yusuke didn't give a damn about Miyuki being trans. I mean, he's a teenage boy in the '90s, it's honestly kind of surprising he wouldn't care. Then again, he's Yusuke. All he really cares about is the fact that she's an enemy.
