Garcia smiles and holds Emily's clammy hands. They walk down the hallway, through two metal swinging doors and into a cold room where there are three incubators set up. "Are you ready?"

"Not in the slightest," Prentiss answers.

The blinding white lights look down upon her abdomen. Behind the curtain, Doctor Stone looks over and says, "No one is ever ready. With that being said, you and Derek have managed to be not only the most prepared for one, but the most prepared for three babies. You are going to be a great mother Emily. I am going to start the procedure if that is alright with you?"

Emily nods as her mouth can't form words. Penelope sits on a stool facing Emily's head, holding her hand she says, "What the doctor said."

Emily chuckles as Stone says, "Scalpel. Kelly clamp. Retractor. Can I get some suction?" The phone rings, Emily's head jolts towards it fearing the worst. Stone asks, "Can someone get that?" A nurse rushes to grab it. Hanging up she walks slowly to Doctor Stone mumbling words into his ear. "Emily…"

Emily responds, "What, is something wrong?"

"Quite the opposite. Derek is here, he is sanitizing and will be in right next to you in less than a minute," Doctor Stone says with pleasure. Emily's face lights up and Penelope squeezes her hand with elation. Speaking to a nurse, Stone says, "The muscle is pulled back, time to get them out of there."

Racing footsteps can be heard coming towards Emily's head. Derek stands over Emily, "I am so sorry, I should have been here." He leans in and gives her a supportive kiss.

Penelope, still sitting there, watches Prentiss excuse his tardiness, "You didn't know that this was going to happen. It's not your fault. Where is Rossi-"

Doctor Stone steps into their conversation, "Who's ready to see your babies? Baby A is coming out…" Pulling out a tiny baby he finishes his sentence, "Now. We have to weigh and measure him first, then you can see him. Congratulations."

Emily immediately starts crying and Derek cannot stop smiling. Derek announces, "You did it."

Emily states, "We did it."

A nurse comes behind the curtain holding Baby A, "Baby Boy A, born May 3, 2012, at 12:21 in the afternoon. Weighing in at three pounds ten ounces and measuring in height at fourteen inches."

Handing Derek Baby A, the baby starts crying louder. Derek is flustered, "What did I do?"

Emily laughs and picks up her hand from Garcia's, who is frozen with glee, and rubs the baby's head. The nurse comes back and says, "We have to take him to the NICU to be checked."

Penelope rises from her seat and turns her camera on. Snagging a photo of the joyous occasion Emily tells Penelope, "Go. Go with him, he can't let him think we left. Please, Pen."

Penelope says, "Affirmative." She hands the nurse her phone and says sternly, "I expect this back with at least seventy more photos." Following Baby A up to the NICU Penelope's clicks of her high heels fade into the distance.

"Baby Boy B is here," Doctor Stone rejoices.

Less than thirty seconds later the child is swaddled in a blanket and presented to the lucky parents, "Baby B born at 12:28 in the afternoon, measuring to be three pounds four ounces and thirteen inches." Only holding Baby B for a few seconds, he is taken away to the NICU like Baby A.

Doctor Stone lingers with his words, "Baby Girl C is being a tricky little girl, but she has arrived."

"Baby C- The third and final baby, is two pounds fourteen ounces, eleven inches long and born at 12:34 in the afternoon. Congratulations," a nurse says, "Since she is so small, we are going to take her up to the NICU straight away, you can see her for a few seconds in the incubator, but after that we need to go."

After ridding the room of all crying babies, Derek turns to Emily, "That's my little peanut. She is so itty bitty."

"She looks so fragile…" Emily trails off as she sees the last of her babies leave the room. "They are going to be okay, Penelope is up there so they are not alone."

The surgery went well and Emily was brought back to her room for recovery. Ten minutes after being brought back Penelope waltzes into the room with two blue balloons and a pink balloon. "I was not allowed to stay, they had to run some more tests." Penelope sits down in the guest chair and talks with Derek and Emily about their babies.

Right after the conversation finished a parade of babies lined the halls. Three incubators were rolled into their room, "Hello there, I am guessing these belong to you?" A nurse with the name 'Mike' on his ID rotates the incubators so that all three are easily visible. "If you need any help, just press the red button on your remote."

A new doctor walks in directly after Nurse Mike left, "Hello, I am your children's NICU doctor, Doctor Dennis Rogers. I specialize in multiples, especially earlier than expected multiples." Taking a breath Dennis states, "I am very happy to let you know that all three of your babies seem to be healthier than expected. The three are all on oxygen to help them with breathing. Baby B and Baby C have feeding tubes because they are having a hard time swallowing. Other than that, they are healthy." Emily, Derek and Penelope all cheer in celebration. "You are able to hold all of them, I just warn you that you will need to be extra vigilant, even though they are in stable condition, they are still very fragile. I can show you how to hold them properly," He opens the lid and shows the new parents how to hold their children without hurting them. After the demonstration the doctor announces, "I will see you in a couple hours."

Penelope's phone rings, "No, no, no! I called saying I couldn't work."

Derek looks at Penelope, "Baby Girl… If they need you, you have to go."

Penelope huffs, "I am not going in. I am only taking this call. That's it." She storms out of the room and answers the call dramatically per usual.

"Which one do I start with?" Emily asks.

"I don't know. Who put the stuffed animals in their incubators?" Derek notices a stuffed elephant in the first, a teddy bear in the second and a rabbit in the third

Prentiss looks closer, "I bet it was Penelope." She stares at the different boxes and babies in them. Derek rocks back and forth in the chair. Prentiss takes in the scenery of the room and warmth comes upon her. She smiles out of nowhere.
