Did all of you liked the last chapter? If so, please don't forget to leave some review and comments. Also, it looks like Yugi and the others have defeated the Labyrinth Ruler, but must now face off against Lord Stanley, aka Pegasus Crawford. However, it looks like Yami and Bakura are curious towards their counterparts and are trying to find them. Lets see how our heroes will avoid them while finding a way to get back home.
"Silent Slash!"
Silent Swordsman swung his heavy blade at the monster, causing heavy damage. Pegasus cried out in horror as he dropped to his knees, as his life points dropped down to 0.
Yugi let out a huge sigh of relief, glad that the duel is now over. "The match is over, Lord Pegasus. You lost, and I win. Now please let us leave."
Pegasus slowly stood up, shock still on his face. "You must be joking… Me? Lose? Never!" Holding his hands out to stop his guards from coming closer, he took some slow shallow breaths and looked at Yugi. "Oh dear… You just might be stronger than Seto. Since you were able to defeat me, the duel gave me the proof I needed to know that you are the Rose Duelist sent from a different time era."
A chuckle escaped his lips, as a smile appeared on his face. "I really enjoyed that! I've learned a lot from you! In fact, you've done wonders for my game!"
"Game? This was all a game to him!?" Malik exclaimed in disbelief.
Mako shrugged. "You know how he is."
"The question is, why would Lord Pegasus join the House of York when he's part of the House of Lancaster? I don't understand why," Ryou questioned.
"No one knows. Only Lord Pegasus has the answer to your question," Malik replied.
Realization dawned on Pegasus as he snapped his fingers. "Oh! By the way… I'm afraid I don't have any Rose Cards. Sorry!"
Yugi sweat-dropped, but chose to ignore his comment. "Don't worry about it. However, I'm afraid I cannot stay longer. My family and I must leave immediately before the prince and his friends come and find us here."
"Ah yes! They should be here soon!" Pegasus chuckled with his eyes closed, and then opened them. "I recommend you go to the Isle of Man. You will find the next White Rose Card there. Just look for a woman called Ishtar, defeat her in a duel, and she will give you the card."
Malik paled. "D-Did he just say Ishtar!?"
"That would be your older sister, correct?" Ryou asked. "Does she even know you're with us?"
Malik quickly shook his head no. "I don't think it's a good idea to go there."
"Can we have Mako help us get there by ship? He was able to bring us here, and I'm sure he won't mind taking us to the Isle of Man," Yugi commented, glancing at Mako.
"Why of course! Mako, I order you to take them to the Isle of Man and whichever destination they must go to until they get to their final quest!" Pegasus ordered him.
Mako bowed. "As you wish, your majesty!" He then stood up. "Follow me to the boat, everyone!"
As they started to leave the castle, Pegasus called out to them. "Oh Yugi-boy!"
"Hmm?" Yugi turned around. "What is it, your majesty?"
"Remember to be careful on your journey. There may be a time when you have to face Rosenkreuz, or maybe Henry Tudor. Don't let your guard down, or you won't be able to return back home."
He gave him a firm nod. "I'll keep that in mind, Lord Pegasus. Thank you for the advice."
"It's more of a warning, but please do remember what I said. Remember to keep your friends and family safe as well."
"I will protect them with my life."
"Meow."
"Be careful, and goodbye little kitty!~"
"Squeak."
"And little bunny!~"
Quickly leaving the castle, they ended up at the dock where the ship is. They got on and hid behind some crates, not wanting to be seen by the public, and Mako started to move his ship as it set sail towards its destination.
"Next stop is the Isle of Man! Luckily, it won't take that long since the winds are good!" Mako replied.
Malik quickly got on his knees and hugged himself, curling into a ball. "She's gonna kill me once she learns that I helped a friend escape from the prince…"
Snowflake and Thumper rubbed themselves against him, while Amane gently patted his head. Ryou crouched down and patted his back. "You did the right thing in helping my brother escape. If you hadn't, Thumper and I would've been devastated if we lost them to Henry Tudor and the Lancastrians."
"You're also our friend, Malik. You already became part of the family, and we'll explain to your older sister why you helped me out," Yugi placed his hand on his arm while crouching in front of him. "So please don't be frightened. It'll be okay."
Malik sadly sighed, and looked at them. "Thank you all for being so kind, but it won't be the same once you all go back to your time period. This will be the last time I get to do fun stuff with you all."
"Time may keep us apart, but our memories will never fade away."
"You'll be in our hearts, and we'll be in your heart. So that way, our bonds shall not break."
"Meow."
"Squeak."
"I-I'll always love you, big brother Malik."
Malik blushed at Amane's comment, and then sniffed as he realized something. "S-She called me big brother…" He started to sob as he hugged her. "I'm a big brother! I have a little sister who loves me!"
Yugi and Ryou smiled at each other, and then at Malik as they continued to comfort him. The animals did their best to comfort Malik, while Mako chuckled at their sweet reunion and focused on steering his ship. Right now, daylight is still out and its best to get to the island before the sun starts to set. Since Lady Ishtar holds a White Rose Card, Yugi must defeat her before he can get to his next opponent: Richard Slysheen of York.
The cold, clean taste of water caused him to drink it all in one gulp, letting out a huge sigh of relief. He had no idea that his mouth would get thirsty, and he's glad they took a small break. Since arriving at the Kingdom of Lancashire, Henry left to go see Lord Stanley in order to get information on when his counterpart came.
Joey knew they were too late, and will have to put their plans on hold. Right now, they're managing their troops in helping them defeat every duelist who are part of the Rose Crusaders working for the Yorkists, and make sure they collect the White Rose Cards. They now have 2: one from Rex, and the other from Darkness Ruler.
Chills ran down his spine as he remembered the duel between Yami and the Darkness Ruler. The spooky Yorkist wanted to duel against the Rose Duelist, but thought defeating Yami would be a greater victory. Sadly, he was mistaken and got defeated. But now, rumors of someone defeating the Rose Crusaders and obtaining their White Rose Cards had spread, causing them to realize that the Rose Duelist had come to help the Red Roses defeat Seto and his minions.
A scoff escaped Joey's lips as an image of Seto Rosenkreuz appeared in his head. Its obvious he has issues since the war started due to a belief that he is the strongest in achieving the throne for England. Not only that, he likes to show off both his armor that symbolizes his deck leader: Blue Eyes White Dragon.
"An armor of my Red Eyes Black Dragon would be better," Joey mumbled to himself.
Tristan arched his eyebrow at him. "You said something, Joey?"
Joey waved him off. "Don't worry about it. So is Yami still speaking with his father?"
Tea nodded. "He is. Once he's here, he'll have us set sail to our next destination. I don't know where, but lets hope the place isn't dangerous."
"Every place we go to is dangerous. Are you sure you're okay coming with us?"
Tea placed her hands on her hips while frowning at him. "Sorry to say this, but I am no damsel in distress. Its not just men who can fight, but also women. I vow to help our lord defeat the Rose Crusadors, and make sure the Lancastrians and Yorkists will finally achieve peace!"
"After this war is over, I can finally breathe a huge sigh of relief," Tristan said, and then felt his cheeks turning red. "Maybe I can see how Lady Melody is doing. It's been a long time since I've last seen her."
"Its best to stay away from the flower shop if I were you. I heard her boss Rebecca is in a really bad mood, and sometimes directs her anger at the customers," Joey pointed out.
"Why? Did something happen?" Tea asked.
Joey shrugged. "Don't know. I couldn't get any information about it, but it has to do with a letter she was given. Whatever's written on it obviously put her in a really bad mood, and it's almost worse than the time someone made fun of her appearance."
"Poor sweet Melody. I hope her boss doesn't take her anger out on her. She's such a fragile fairy!" Tristan cried out in anguish while looking at the sky.
Face-palming at his comment, she heard footsteps and turned her head to see the prince approaching them. "My lord, were you able to get anything from the king?"
"I have. They are headed towards the Isle of Man," Yami told her.
Joey scratched the back of his head, and strapped his waterskin to his belt. "The area where they have huge cliffs?"
"The same place where they call it the gem of the Irish Sea?" Tristan added.
"Correct," Yami said. "If we leave now, we can make it before dusk approaches."
"My lord, is it wise to chase after them?" Tea questioned.
"She does have a point," Bakura replied as he approached them. "I thought you wanted to focus on achieving the throne from the Yorkists. Why are you obsessed on chasing your counterpart? He and his brother don't trust us."
"Lady Tea, Malik is wanted for aiding my prisoner to escape, and that prisoner is also my counterpart who not only resembles me, but is filled with secrets I must know about," Yami explained. "I am focusing on winning the throne from the Yorkists, and I won't let the White Rose Crusaders win." He crossed his arms over his chest. "There's something about my look-alike that made me curious about him. I must find him, get answers from him, and have him realize I'm not an enemy. I want him to see me as a trusted ally or a friend."
Tea opened her mouth, but then closed it. The prince's personality started to change a little after the masked ball. At first, he wanted to know who was the masked maiden in purple he danced with, and now he wanted to know who his doppelganger is. She is curious on who they could be, but stopping the war comes first.
"What would happen if we ran into your look-alike, his brother, and their family along with Malik?" Joey asked. "Those pets and that little girl are innocent, so we can't scare them."
"Don't worry. I just want to talk to them with no conflict," Yami replied. "Now, let us make haste since time is of the essence."
Malik gulped as he tried to make himself smaller while hiding behind Ryou. Sadly, he's a little taller than him and couldn't hide behind one of the huge pillars nearby. Ishizu already saw him, and is giving him a heated stare. News must've reached her already on what he did, and is waiting for the right moment to scold him on what he did.
"You are Ishizu Ishtar, correct?" Yugi said to break the silence. "We were told to come here and challenge you to a duel for a Rose Card."
Her gaze left Malik's, and focused on Yugi's. "You are correct. Though I am surprised. I never thought you would reach the point where you could challenge me." She closed her eyes for a few minutes, and then opened them as the field began to change. "Too bad that it all has to end here."
The field changed into the sea, and a monster is summoned hovering above her. Ryou took a good look at the monster, noticing it was a tall woman with her eyes closed who had long purple hair, black cloak, brown leaves sticking on both sides of her head, and an eye on her forehead. "Is that Witch of the Black Forest?"
Malik hesitantly nodded. "Y-You're correct. She's Ishizu's deck leader, but don't let her type fool you. Besides her ability, Ishizu has some water monsters in her deck. That's why she was stationed here due to her affinity for the water just like Mako."
"I'm a little happy he volunteered to take us wherever we need to go for our destination on his ship."
"He's our only transport in crossing the sea."
Amane sat on a huge boulder, with Snowflake and Thumper resting near her. "You can do this, big brother Yugi."
"Meow."
"Squeak."
Yugi summoned his deck leader, and the duel started as they both got in a stance. He watched as she placed a monster face down in defense mode, and a card face down on the field. After her turn was over, he drew a card and summoned one of his monsters. "I summon Breaker the Magical Warrior in attack mode!"
A monster with red armor that resembled a knight appeared on the field. Yugi then placed a spell card to increase his monster's attack points, and ordered it to target the facedown monster. "Attack, Breaker!"
Arthur tried not to tremble as he watered the plants with a watering can. He could still sense his granddaughter's anger, and it's terrifying. He didn't know why she was angry at first, until she showed him the note left to her by Yugi and Ryou. Apparently, the prince and his friends saw them at the beach and escaped before they could get captured. That event caused them to leave at dawn the next day, and before they were considered wanted in the kingdom.
He is upset that they decided to leave without telling them first on what happened, but knew they had no other choice since they couldn't get discovered. If anyone knew they were staying here, Arthur and Rebecca would've gotten in trouble for hiding a prisoner.
Now that he thought about, being put in a cell is better than having to endure Rebecca's wrath. For now, he'll have to find ways to keep her calm and pray for the souls of both Yugi and Ryou, because she will not rest until she finds them again and punish them harshly for the stunt they pulled. Shaking his head at the thought, he figured its best that Rebecca took a break from her shift and take over so she wouldn't scare any of the customers
He also can't let Melody faint or run out of the shop screaming in terror from Rebecca's anger. He's not ready to experience a heart attack or a stroke from her malicious aura.
"Boys, I pray you have a solution in letting her know you're truly sorry. Have mercy on your souls," Arthur muttered to himself.
Yugi scanned his surroundings again, but the fog made it hard to see anything. He's glad Snowflake is resting on his shoulders so they wouldn't get separated, but now they had gotten lost. After he defeated Ishizu and obtained a White Rose Card from her, she proceeded to chase after Malik, who tried to escape from her.
He had never heard a grown woman curse that viciously before, and her vocabulary had been very colorful. Ryou had to quickly cover Amane's ears so she wouldn't listen to those words, and Yugi went after her to prevent her from killing Malik. Snowflake and Thumper watched with curious gazes, wondering why she is chasing him.
After being able to stop her and telling her why Malik freed him, she calmed down a little, but was still giving Malik the look saying 'this isn't over'. Ishizu asked if Yugi was related to Henry Tudor, and he told her he isn't since he came from a different kingdom. He did ask her if there were any more Rose Cards to collect, and was told to go to Bosworth, but must first land at Milford Haven.
He asked why, and her answer is, "Once thou arrive, what thou are seeking shall join thee."
Confused on what she meant, he accepted it and asked her to let Malik join them to Milford Haven. Ishizu refused at first since he still needed to be punished and returned back to Egypt, but Malik pleaded with her and Ryou told her he's their precious friend and will not get separated from them.
Surprised to see they consider her brother as their friend and family, she hesitated for a bit, but then complied while telling them that once the journey is over, Malik must return to her so they can go back home to Egypt. They agreed with the conditions, and left the island where they were taken to Milford Haven. When they arrived and looked around, Amane spotted something in the woods, causing her to run there. Yugi, Ryou, Malik and their pets ran after her and called out for her, but it didn't seem like she was listening to them.
Then, the fog came and they all got separated. Yugi and Snowflake are together, but he has no clue where Ryou, Thumper, Malik, or Amane could be. If Mother Nature is causing this fog, then is she the one who made Amane go inside the woods? For now, he'll need to find them and hope they're okay.
"Meow," Snowflake rubbed her cheek against his.
Yugi stroked her head, hearing a purr. "We'll be okay, sweetheart. We were able to get through the fog before back at the Forest of Grimshaw. We can get through the fog again here in Milford Haven."
"Mew."
"Mother Nature created this fog. We just need to appease her."
A memory of a song Nenet sang for Yugi and Ryou when they were little appeared in his mind, and he started walking as the lyrics escaped from his mouth.
Summer in the hills
Those hazy days I do remember
We were running still
Had the whole world at our feet
As he continued to walk while singing, the fog began to draw away like curtains whenever he's nearby. This means Mother Nature is starting to like this melody.
Watching seasons change
Our roads were lined with adventure
Mountains in the way
Couldn't keep us from the sea
Yugi had no idea his voice would sound enchanting, and his voice echoed in the woods, not realizing someone from the distance heard his singing.
Here we stand, open arms
This is home where we are
Ever strong in the world that we made
I still hear you in the breeze
See your shadows in the trees
Holding on memories never change
His eyes spotted a purple light in the distance, causing him to believe it could be his brother or Malik. Running over to the light, he could feel the fog clearing a pathway in front of him, making it easier for him to see where he's going. As he got closer, he noticed an outline of a tall figure. Could it be Ryou or Malik?
Not realizing the figure had gotten closer; he accidentally tackled the person to the ground, causing him to land on the figure, who made a noise. Luckily, Snowflake jumped off of Yugi and landed on the ground gently on her paws. Soon, the fog cleared away and Yugi got a good look at whom he landed on.
A pair of familiar crimson red eyes stared back at him, surprised and amused at what he did. Bangs that were his own, tricolored star-shaped hair, and a smirk that was all too familiar with him. Realizing he was laying on top of him with his hands on his chest and hands holding his waist, Yugi's face turned red, and yelped as he quickly scooted back and got up to get away from him.
Unfortunately, Yami was quicker and tackled him to the ground. Lying on his stomach, Yugi struggled as he felt Yami pinning both his wrists down with one hand while the other is resting on his back. "Get off!"
"I don't think so, little one," Yami smirked, and noticed something on the back of his top. Moving aside his cape, his eyes widened at seeing a design of a purple rose stitched on the back of his black top. Remembering where he saw it, his eyes narrowed as he pulled out the pendant from his top and showed it to Yugi. "Have you seen this pendant before?"
Yugi glanced at it, and gasped. "W-Where did you get that pendant?"
"Answer my question! Have you seen this pendant before!?"
"N-No! Why would I remember seeing something like that!?"
"The purple rose on this pendant matches the one on your back! Is your kingdom's emblem a purple rose!?"
"Its not! It's a pink rose!"
Yami arched his eyebrow, and then slightly grinned. "So the pink rose represents your kingdom?"
Yugi cursed to himself, letting that information slip. "J-Just let me go or I won't stop Snowflake from scratching you!"
"Meow!" Snowflake tugged on Yami's bangs with her mouth.
"I'll let you go if you tell me the truth. You know something about this pendant, do you?" Yami questioned, stopping Snowflake from tugging on his bang more. "Do you happen to know any maiden losing this type of pendant?"
"Why would I tell you!? I don't know!" Yugi shouted while looking over his shoulder. "I'm telling the truth! It's the first time I've ever seen a pendant like that!"
"You were surprised when I showed it to you. You obviously know about this pendant."
"I-It looked like another pendant my brother and I once lost not long ago!"
"Really? How long ago was that?"
"Just get off of me, you pervert!"
"I'm a gentleman, not a pervert."
"You molested me when you were interrogating me!"
"You actually believed what your brother just said about me?"
"What he said is true!"
"Meow!"
"Ignoring that, I'll let you go on one condition."
"I won't tell you the name of my kingdom!"
Yami shook his head. "I'll get that information from you another time. All I want to know is your name."
"No thank you!" Yugi answered.
Yami growled in frustration and flipped him over, pinning him down. "Do not be stubborn, little knight. All I ask is your name, and I'll release you."
"My answer is still no!"
"I won't hesitate to use force on you, little one."
"In front of a kitten?"
"Yes, in front of a kitten."
"Meow?"
Yugi squirmed to get out of his grip, and kicked his legs but was unable to due to Henry Tudor pinning his whole body with his own. Since when did the prince became that strong when he's so thin!?
"I won't tell anyone of your name. Let me be the only one who knows it."
"Why? You don't even know me!"
Yami leaned forward, letting their noses touch. "Then let me know you. Please let me in and trust me. I swear to you on my life that I am a trustworthy prince who wishes to stop the war, and bring peace back to England. I wish to know my doppelganger who resembles me, and differs from me by personality and traits." His crimson eyes gazed into amethyst eyes. "Please tell me your name, and I swore to never tell the others about you."
Yugi could feel his cheeks warming up, seeing how close the prince is and his kitten is watching all of this. Luckily, she has no idea what's going on and is busy tilting her head at them in confusion. He could see truth in Henry's eyes, and they looked desperate and sad. Yugi is mad that the prince has his pendant, but cannot tell him its his or the prince will know Yugi is the masked maiden he danced with at the ball.
Not only that, he does not want anyone to know that he and Ryou wore dresses while disguised as girls. It was still embarrassing, and he still had dreams of when he and the prince were in the garden kissing and whispering sweet words to each other. It's forbidden for two males to be together, but his heart is beating for him while his body felt warm from his touch.
Knowing the prince won't budge until he gets an answer, Yugi groaned and turned his head. "My name is Yugi Mutou, your majesty."
A triumphant smile appeared on his face as he stared at him. "Pleasure to meet you, Yugi Mutou. I am Henry Tudor, prince of the House of Lancaster and member of the Red Roses. However, you can call me Yami since my name is tiresome."
"Tis an honor, Yami," Yugi turned his head to look at him. "Now could you please get off of me?"
"Ah right! My apologies!" Yami got off him, and helped him up. "I hope you're not injured."
"I'm not," Yugi dusted his clothes to get rid of the dirt. "Though my pride was damaged."
"Sincerest apologies, Yugi."
"Apology accepted since it was sincere."
"Thank you," Yami chuckled. "So what brings you here to Milford Haven?"
"For a break. My family and I wanted to explore the area while hiding from your troops."
"There's no need to be afraid. I'll explain to them that I already got my answer from you."
"Remember your promise. You mustn't tell them my name."
"May I ask why?" Yami asked. "Your name sounds lovely to me."
Yugi looked away, his cheeks turning pink. "I-Its complicated, and its best you do not know about it."
Yami looked at him for a minute, and then shrugged his shoulders. "As you wish, little one."
Yugi huffed and glared at him. "Also, do not call me little one. I'm not that short!"
"I like calling you little one. It suits you well."
"Meow," Snowflake jumped back onto Yugi's shoulders and rested her body around his neck so it would be easier for to be on.
Yami chuckled and patted her head. "I'm guessing you two got separated from your family?"
Yugi sighed, nodding his head. "I'm afraid so. My little sister suddenly ran into the forest, and we went after her. However, a fog came and separated us. We're trying to get through the fog and search for them."
"Was that your voice echoing in the fog?"
"N-No. I thought that was yours."
"I'm afraid I cannot sing. But your voice sounded similar to the voice singing in the distance, and it captivated me."
"T-Then its Snowflakes!"
"Meow?"
Yami laughed, and brushed a bang away from Yugi's face. "I won't tell anyone about your beautiful voice, little one. I want to be the only one who hears it."
"…. I think I hear my brother calling for me! Coming, brother!" Yugi quickly walked past Yami and onto the pathway where the fog is clearing it for him.
His face feels hot, and his heart is still thumping against his chest. He even heard Yami's deep chuckle, and footsteps to indicate he was following him. There's no way Yami would be interested in him. He knows that Yugi is a male. Plus, he is determined in finding his masked maiden in purple, not knowing she is actually Yugi in disguise.
Since Yami is with him, he'll have to think of a plan to get his pendant from him. He can't go back to the 15th century without it. It's his last connection to Merle, and a precious gift made just for him. He pray that an idea would come to him, and he'll be able to return home with no worries at all.
The problem is… Why is he feeling a little sad on returning back home? And why are his lips tingling? They only tingled when he and Yami had their kiss at the garden and-
Yugi gasped in horror, stopping his walk as he felt his face getting hotter and his heart thumping louder against his chest. He covered his face since Yami is with him, who is giving him a concerned expression and asking if he's okay.
Yugi Mutou fell in love with Henry Yami Tudor, and it is not okay!
