Home. It used to be her home once upon a time then she fell in love with a Slytherin seventh year student against all the barriers she put up, Bellatrix never falter in tearing them down. At first she thought the oldest Black sister was trying to wind her or become another of Bellatrix's one night stands. Turns out she was right until the first time they had sex and Minerva could feel and hear every one of her loves emotions and thoughts.
They were true heart sears. True loves. Soul mates. Though Bella rolled her eyes at the terms of their deep bonds she never looked at another witch again and nor did she.
"Are you going to tell me what brings you back to our farm after all these years Minerva McGonagall?" Mama McGonagall's strong Scottish tones brought her out of her thoughts. Trevor seated beside Minerva at the kitchen table, with concern written clearly on his aging face.
"Albus contacted you did he not?"
Mama McGonagall wasn't haven't any lip, she didn't take it when her brood were young and she certainly wouldn't take it from her fully grown daughter. The sharp glare from her Mama cut Minerva's attitude back.
"I'm asking you daughter. I know Albus's concerns but I want to hear from you." Her statement brokered for no arguments.
Her supportive brother looked on genuinely interested in her well-being even if Trevor was unlikely to say it out loud.
"Hermione has started her first year at Hogwarts and I haven't taken it very well. No that's a lie I have been watching my daughter grow up with since I abandoned her," she held up her hand on seeing Trevor open his mouth. "Let me finish this first. My sister in law met Hermione when she was eight with her son and husband." She spat the word husband she hated the man with passion nearly as much as Bellatrix did. "Since then she and Narcissa have been thick as devils snare.."
Mama raised a greying brow, "you can't hold that against the lass Minerva. Narcissa and my grandbaby are soul seared and you can't in good conscience interfere with that." She leant on the table closer to her daughter. "Just like Albus and I couldn't and didn't interfere when you started your relationship with a seventh year student once we found out the truth."
"I know, I know. A year before Hermione started Hogwarts I was sent to Malfoy Manor upon arriving I saw my lass badly injured and unconscious. Narcissa's house elf Dobby rescued Hermione from her adopted.. the woman that raised my daughter after attacking her so brutally that my baby nearly died." Tears trickled down her cheeks, her Mama grabbed her hands holding on tightly. Minerva smiled in gratitude.
"I have been struggling to accept Bella being gone. I just can't. I know she is still out there Mama, I can feel it in here." She sobbed pressing their joined hands above her beating heart. "I came here to find the truth, to find Bella and bring her home."
Trevor discreetly wiped his eyes, wrapping his arms around his sobbing baby sister and mother. Maggie knelt down placing her hand on Minerva's leg, her way of showing support to her grieving sister in law.
This may not be home anymore but the love from her family helped ease some of the pain in her heart in that moment.
Pulling back Mama wetly laughed, "look at us weeping like new-borns. I would very much like to meet my grandbaby Minerva." She tapped a finger on her daughter's lips the moment she went to rebuff her. "I'm not expecting anything right now my lass. Right now you need time to away from that school and we will give everything we have to help you."
"The only way for this to happen is going back to that night or more specifically the place it happened. It's went you went home Minerva."
