Chapter 12: A Little Wreckage
Len's POV
I was finally on the final chapter of my book and about to finish it. I had no interruptions, which was great for me because I could finish it in peace.
Except for Piko occasionally wanting to read something else after he finished his book.
My eyes had finally reached the final sentence. Once I saw the final "end book" after the chapter had ended, I smiled and placed it on my desk.
"Man, that was a good book, but now I'm in the mood for something else." I said as I stood up from my desk, grabbed the book, and placed it back where I had found it on the bookshelf.
"Hey Piko, you wanna take a trip around Neverland?" I asked.
Truth be told, I actually asked him that because I wanted to see if the cannons on this ship could do anything.
Piko looked up at me from the floor, closing his book as he did so.
"I guess I could. Where are we going?" He asked.
"Just around Neverland." I replied, and then started walking away from him.
"And seeing if the cannons work." I thought as I walked through the hall.
I made my way towards the end of the hall, the only thing blocking my way being the door in front of me. I placed my hand on the doorknob, twisted it, and soon found myself outside.
I noticed Miku, who was still on the deck. She was looking around.
About a minute later, Piko came out behind me and walked onto the deck. He noticed Miku and walked over to her. I started walking away, making my way to the wooden stairs on my left.
"Who're you?" He asked.
"I'm Miku, but here I'm Wendy." Miku replied.
"Oh. I'm Piko. I'm a pirate."
"Really? You don't look like a pirate."
"I'm new to being a pirate. I actually became one today." Piko said as he shrugged.
"Ah, okay. I see. I guess that explains why you're in a white cat costume." Miku said as she nodded.
I couldn't help but think that maybe Miku could actually be Piko's friend. A friend that wouldn't make fun of him or tease him.
I finally stepped foot onto the upper part of the deck. You know, the part the stairs lead up to that also had the wheel in the middle of it.
I walked over to the wheel and placed my hands on it.
I took a deep breath as I made sure to firmly grip the wheel.
"Here we go." I thought, and then spun the wheel around, watching it spin as fast as it could go.
So fast to the point where I could barely even see it move.
The Jolly Roger moved a bit as the wheel spun around and around. I once again placed my hands on my wheel, abruptly stopping it from spinning.
I spun the wheel again. We were moving, but it seemed like we were moving in place.
That confirmed it. There had to be an anchor keeping us in place.
I scanned the ship as I noticed something on the opposite end of me. Just like mine, there were wooden stairs that led up to it, but unlike my side, the wooden thing in the middle of it was different. It had at least four wooden poles sticking out.
It wasn't a wheel, but it was something that I knew could bring the anchor up.
"Hey!" I said. From my place on the Jolly Roger, I could see Miku and Piko look at me.
"Go on the opposite end of the ship and make sure the anchor is no longer in place." I said as I pointed to what I was talking about.
Miku and Piko didn't say a word as they walked to the opposite end of the ship.
Miku and Piko placed their hands on the wooden poles and began to push on it. They slowly began to move the wooden poles around, beginning to walk around in circles and gaining more power the more they did this.
Eventually, they could no longer move the wooden poles, signaling that the anchor had to be off the watery, sandy floor beneath us.
I spun the wheel again. Unlike before, we moved, but we were finally able to go forward.
I spun the wheel more and more, and soon we had left our little place in Neverland.
The more I spun the wheel to my right, the more I began figuring out how familiar Neverland was to me.
I eventually found myself in front of the Indian's camp. I walked over to my right and yelled out to everyone.
"REMEMBER ME!? LET'S SEE IF THESE CANNONS WORK!" I yelled as I launched a cannon ball right in front of me, landing into the edge of the site, causing bits of rocks and dirt to fall into the water below.
All the ruckus caused some of the Indians at the front of the site to walk out of their tents and huts. Once they saw me and the cannon ball in front of them, they started screaming and running away in terror.
"Yeah, they better run!" I thought as I launched another cannon ball, destroying a hut and landing into the ground, causing dirt to be kicked up into the air.
This caused MEIKO to come out of her tent and look at me.
I began laughing and pointing at the Indians that had run away.
"EVERYONE, FOLLOW ME! DO IT NOW SO YOU'RE SAFE!" I heard MEIKO yell. I opened my eyes to see her waving her hand and calling her people. They were running towards her and past her.
"Might as well gift her a little something too." I thought as I prepared to launch another cannon ball.
Before I did, I saw MEIKO glare at me. She ran away as soon as she had done that.
I launched my cannon ball and it hit her tent, knocking it down and forcing it to fall over.
In the place of her tent was now a cannon ball in the front of it.
I laughed again as I saw all the Indians run out of my sight. After I had stopped laughing, I decided that I had caused enough damage and decided to cause some damage somewhere else.
Somewhere like the Mermaid Lagoon.
I turned the wheel and began to "drive" the Jolly Roger to the Mermaid Lagoon. Once I got there, I placed the ship towards the front of the lagoon so it couldn't move and blocked the exit-and entrance-of the Mermaid Lagoon.
"REMEMBER ME? I'M BACK!" I yelled into the lagoon. I saw Luka, GUMI, Haku, and IA look at me.
Luka smiled at first, but she immediately swam away once she took a good look at me.
I walked over to the cannons as the other mermaids began swimming away, ducking underwater and trying to get out of my sight as I gripped onto the cannon ball launcher, a small, brown rope that was able to launch those cannon balls.
But it was a shame for them, as I could still see them under the water.
I pulled back the cannon ball rope in my grip and watched as a cannon ball flew out of it, landing on a purple rock in the middle of the lagoon and completely destroying it, causing purple bits of rock to fall into the lagoon as the ball followed shortly after.
I walked to a different cannon ball launcher next to me and pulled the rope next to it, causing another cannon ball to fly into the lagoon.
But this time, the cannon ball flew into a rock a bit on the outer side of the lagoon. A part with grass on it.
I knew the mermaids were still under the water, or maybe they had swam out of the lagoon under the Jolly Roger and I didn't notice.
But oh well. I was going to part with one last cannon ball.
I pulled the rope and watched as it flew into the lagoon, this time landing into the water, causing a humongous splash that made water practically fly out of the lagoon, but still keeping enough water intact.
That was it. I decided to leave them with that.
I walked back up to the upper part of the ship and once again spun the wheel. This caused the ship to turn around, finally unblocking the lagoon.
I spun the wheel even more, finally getting it out of the lagoon. My next target were the lost boys.
I navigated the ship around Neverland, trying to find a good spot to send the lost boys my "gifts", but they were so crowded in trees that I couldn't find a good place to launch my cannon balls.
What did I do?
I decided to leave them alone.
I finally got the ship back to where it originally was in Neverland; that little watery place right next to the Mermaid Lagoon, just like in the movie.
Once situated, I looked at Miku and Piko, who were just talking to each other on the deck. They looked like they were having a good time, so I'm assuming that they were talking about things they found funny.
"PIKO! MIKU!" I shouted, loud enough for them to look at me.
I guess they really liked talking to each other. They both jumped when I called their names, but both of them looked at me anyway.
But then again, it's just me, Piko, and Miku, so we had to talk to someone every once in a while.
"Yes, Captain Hook?" Piko asked.
"Lower the anchor. We're staying here." I said.
Piko nodded and began walking away to the opposite upper deck, as did Miku each of them walking up a separate pair of stairs on the opposite side of where I was.
Just like earlier, they placed their hands on the wooden poles, but unlike last time, they walked around in reverse.
But just like last time, they both began walking faster the more they began walking around in the same circle.
After about another minute or so, the boat swayed and stopped, signaling that the anchor was back to where it started.
"Thanks." I said to them. They both silently nodded and walked off of the opposite upper deck, and I did the same from where I was.
I soon found myself back on the deck and I had walked to the door that led to the hallway before I knew it.
I twisted the doorknob and pushed, walking into the hallway and towards my headquarters, if my new room could be called that.
Only one thought flew in my mind as I made my way closer to my room:
"I guess being an adult is fun after all."
