With three segments of the Dark Temple remaining, Ben and Summer divide their team into groups of three and continue their attack on the Dark Temple, leaving Nokia to tend to Takumi and Ami as they recovered from their encounter with Sabios. If they succeed, our heroes will be one step away from confronting the Dark Captian and ending his plans.
Summer reentered the Dark Temple with Staraptor, an Absol, Fei and Yuuko.
"Okay, let's get to it team." Summer said. "There are fewer of us this time, so we all need to put in some extra effort."
"The way I see it, we get in on more of the action." Fei smirked.
"On the bright side a smaller group can operate faster." Yuuko said. "But let's not let that be an excuse to be careless. As always we should proceed with caution."
Summer nodded. "Agreed."
They moved down the path and saw a yellow switch. Summer hurried over to it and stepped on it. A glowing Sunflora appeared. "I guess these are what we're lookin' for here." Fei said. "Let's get to it!"
DIGIVOLUTION
"FanBeemon Digivolve to…Waspmon!"
"Guilmon Digivolve to…GeoGreymon!"
Ben entered the Dark Temple with Pichu, Lucario, Arata, and Yuugo. Right off the bat there were three long paths each leading to a switch in front of a stone barricade. "So, what do we do?" Arata asked. "Split up and each take one?"
"Two of them are most likely traps…" Yuugo replied. "It would be best if we all went the same way. That way if we hit a trap, we can all face whatever comes at us together."
"But these pathways are rather narrow." Ben said. "We won't have much room for the three of us to fight on."
"Good point. Maybe Arata's right. We should split up. But let's hit them one at a time. That way if the first one we hit is the correct switch we won't have to deal with the other two."
"Good idea."
Ben took the right path. Arata went for the middle and Yuugo went to the left. "Okay. Guess I'll go first." Arata stepped on the switch and looked at the stone slate in front of him. "Huh. It's not budging." Just then a Shelgon appeared in front of Arata. It rolled into a ball and rammed into him, flinging the poor lad to the stone floor. "Ow! It's a trap!"
Ben looked at his switch. "Then maybe mine is the right one."
"Ben wait! We shou-
Yuugo was going to suggest that they deal with the Shelgon before potentially triggering any more traps but Ben had already stepped on the switch. The Ranger looked in front of him. The gate didn't open. And no Pokemon appeared in front of him. "Huh. Must be a dud." And then another rolled up Shelgon rammed into him from behind. "Ow! No fair!"
Yuugo sighed. He stepped on the switch in front of him and all three gates lowered. "So much for the cautious approach. Come on Hagurumon, we'd better help them!"
"Affirmative."
"Crazy Giggle!" Keramon shot a black sphere from his mouth at the charging Shelgon, but it kept rolling and rammed him.
Ben was back on his feet and Pichu along with Lucario were fighting off their opponent. "I got this! Help Arata!"
"Right!"
DIGIVOLUTION
"Hagurumon Digivolve to…Clockmon."
Shelgon was ready to charge again. "Chrono Breaker." From behind it Clockmon slammed his hammer down on it. It didn't do much harm on the sturdy Pokemon but the effects of the attack slowed it down significantly. Arata and Keramon were easily able to dodge.
"Thanks pal, you saved our bacon there. Keramon, time for a little payback!"
DIGIVOLUTION
"Keramon Digivolve to…Bakemon!"
"Lucario, Aura Sphere!"
"Nightmare!"
As the Shelgon charged again, Lucario and Bakemon's long range attacks, knocked them out. "Okay, that's taken care of." Yuugo said as he looked at the portal ahead. "Let's press on."
They reached the portal and went to the next room. There were four platforms connected to a fifth one in the center. They boys landed on the bottom pillar. On the center pillar was the red WarpZone. However, it was blocked off. "Looks like we'll have to backtrack once we're done." Ben said.
Yuugo nodded. "For now, let's head north."
Summer Fei and Yuuko landed in a room that lead to a straight, narrow pathway. A hoard of Combee were buzzing around.
"This…may prove challenging." Yuuko said.
"Oh, come on! It's just a bunch of bees, what's the worst they could do?" Summer asked.
"Ahem!"
"Oh, er…no offense Waspmon."
"Well, we'll bee-I mean see soon enough." Fei replied.
As soon as they noticed the girls approach the Combee started buzzing loudly and blowing strong gusts of wind at them. All three of them were knocked off their feet and away from the path.
"Ow…I think it's safe to say they can do some harm!" Fei grumbled as she got up.
"Then we have no choice but to fight back." Yuuko said. "GeoGreymon!"
"Mega Burst!" A gold beam blew a few of them away.
"Staraptor, Arial Ace! Absol, Night Slash!" With their sharp beak and claws, Summer's Pokemon eliminated the remainder of the enemies. "Even compared to the other Temples the Pokemon here are extremely aggressive."
"It's just as the Thunder Captain said." Yuuko replied. "We cannot underestimate the Pokemon here."
"Yeah. This is the cream of the crop we're dealin' with now." Fei added.
Ben's group entered a small room. Here a glowing Pokemon that resembled a human with green hair in a white dress stood.
"Gardivior." Ben said. "So, they're the ones protecting the gate. Capture on!"
Ben's Styler flew towards the Pokemon, but just before it could drop a loop, Gardivior teleported away. Ben turned the gadget towards it again but it teleported again in response.
"Wow that's annoying."
"Clockmon!"
"Chrono Breaker." Yuugo's Digimon jumped towards it, and swung his hammer down, but the target teleported away.
"Attacking recklessly will get us nowhere." Arata said. "Get ready, Clockmon. On my Signal. Bakemon!"
"Nightmare!" The Digimon shot a purple sphere, but again the Pokemon teleported.
Arata saw a flash of light where it was about to spawn. "Now!"
"Chrono Breaker." Just as Gardivior reappeared Clockmon hit it on the head. Not only did the impact daze it, but it's movements were slowed.
"Ben, you're up!"
"Got it!" Ben whirled his Styler around the Gardivior as quickly as possible as to catch it before it could escape again. "There. Done."
"Good thinking Arata! Looks like this is a dead end. Those other paths we saw must lead to the others." Yuugo said. "Let's head back." The boys nodded before they turned around.
After capturing all the Sunflora and finding the Red WarpZone, Summer's team ascended to the final area. There they found the Steelhead of the section they were in along with his Vespiquen.
Fei scanned it. "Vespiquen. Bug/Flying Type. It commands grubs housed in its body…ew."
"So, you finally made your way here. The fools that dare defy Sabios."
"Sabios? What happened to Elios?" Summer asked.
"I could not care less for the Golden Oracle. I have one master and one master alone."
"Guys. He must be under Sabios's spell." Summer muttered.
"Either that or this is what that last oracle warned us about." Yuuko replied.
"You mean about some oracles working with Sabios willingly?"
"Right. If we can capture him, we might be able to learn Sabios's true intentions."
"What are you brats plotting?" The oracle asked. "No. It does not matter. All of you will fall by my hand!"
"Go ahead and try!" Summer said as she took aim. "Capture on!"
As her Styler flew towards the Pokemon Yuuko and Fei whipped out their Digivices.
DIGIVOLUTION
"GeoGreymon Digivolve to…RizeGreymon!"
"Waspmon Digivolve to…CannonBeemon!"
Summer's Styler tried to loop around Vespiquen, but the target swiftly escape the capture line before it could complete the loop. Then it shot a hoard of purple needles towards Summer. Fortunately, Staraptor flew over to her and grabbed her shoulders in his talons so he could move her away in time. "Thanks Partner!"
"CannonBeemon, let's show this loser who rules the hive!"
"Nitro Stinger!"
"RizeGreymon, attack!"
"Trident Revolver!" Both CannonBeemon's blue flame and RizeGreymon's shots came out fast, but the Pokemon dodged all of it. Then once they were done firing Vespiquen zoomed in and let out purple clouds of gas.
"That has to be the fastest opponent yet." Summer said as Staraptor set her down. "But it's a Bug Type! And I have just the solution! Staraptor, Arial Ace!" Staraptor flew at the Pokemon and stabbed his beak at it. "That seemed to hurt it. Keep it up!" Staraptor turned around and closed in for another attack.
"Tailwind." On the Steelheads orders, Vespiquen quickly summoned a coat of wind around it then narrowly dodged the attack.
Summer was shocked. "No way! Vespiquen shouldn't be able to learn Tailwind!"
"We of the Dark Temple put our Pokemon through extra strict training. We have even proven capable of teaching our Pokemon techniques they would not learn on their own."
"You made your Pokemon suffer to gain more power and you still use them like tools? How cruel can Sabios be?!"
"Hmph. Vispiquen! Power Gem!" The Pokemon gathered shining rocks around it and threw them at Staraptor.
"Staraptor, Steel Wing!" The bird's wings started to glow as they sliced away the rocks. "Absol, now! Sucker Punch!" Summer's Friend Pokemon rushed in and punched the opponent from behind.
The Steelhead growled to himself. "That girl is good at giving commands." He slowly brought his hands together and his armor glowed. "In that case…"
Nobody noticed what he was doing. They were too busy trying to hit Vespiquen who due to Tailwind was able to dodge the attacks. But the more that came the more it started to tire. "We're wearing it down!" Fei said. "Just keep it up, we'll get it eventually as long as we give it no chance to counter!"
"The Tailwind should wear off eventually!" Summer added. "Staraptor, use-
"Now! String Shot!"
Out of the blue a blob of web flew at Summer and slammed into her mouth, sealing it shut. She made a muffled shriek in surprise. Just as she reached towards it in an attempt to get it off a stream of web wove around her upper body, pinning her bent arms to her chest. Her fingers were just out of the reach of her gag. Summer grunted as she tried to force her arms down.
"There. Now you can no longer command your Pokemon."
"Summer! Where did- Yukko didn't finish the sentence when she heard buzzing around her. Looking around the girls saw Combee hovering around them.
"Argh! I never expected them to call in backup!" Fei growled. "CannonBeemon, get rid of these guys!"
"On it!"
"I won't let you! Vespiquen, Toxic!"
The Pokemon buzzed loudly and purple pools appeared on the floor right where Absol, and GeoGreymon were running another formed and splashed up at the flying Staraptor and CannonBeemon. Upon contact they dropped to the floor. "Ugh! What is this…?"
RizeGreymon grunted as he struggled to get up. "My strength is fading…I can't move…"
Yuuko looked around her as the Combee that weren't tying down their Digimon and Pokemon with web closed in on her Summer and Fei. They three of them backed up until they had their backs against each other. "Fei, whatever you do don't get caught in their webs!"
"Ha! Fools. These Combee have also been specially taught this move for this exact purpose! Seize them!"
More String Shots were fired and the three split up. Yuuko didn't last long. She had a hard time keeping track of all the attackers while dodging and soon one got her from behind and started to tie her arms to her body with silk. "N-no!"
"Yuuko!" Seeing her friend in danger, Fei hurried over only to have her hands seized in web from behind and her arms pulled back. "Hey! Let…me…go!"
Even without her arms Summer was still able to avoid the web much easier. She was a trained Top Ranger after all. She jumped away, over and around all the webbing until one of the Combee got clever. It shot a blob of web on the floor behind her and when she jumped backwards without looking, she landed right on top of it. When she felt something under her feet and heard an odd squishing she looked down. Try as hard as she might to move, her feet were stuck to the floor and her arms were pinned in front of her. Looking around her as the Combee close in on her she saw her Pokemon and her friend's Digimon completely covered in web. Fei and Yuuko were gagged with web just as she was and Yuuko's arms were pinned to her sides with silk wrapped around her body. Fei's were trapped behind her back via the web wrapped around her upper body. Combee were circling around them, continuing to coat more web tightly around them, moving to their legs.
Summer felt web stick to her shoes and shins. More Combee spun around her and started wrapping her legs up in String Shot. When her thighs were pinned together, they spewed more onto her hands, trapping them into a ball of silk. Lokking at her webbed form, she sighed. "Great. I bet while we're stuck in this sticky situation the guys are fighting something easier. Like a Feebas or a Metapod or a…"
"You know, I bet the girls are fighting something easier right now." Arata said. "Like a bee or something. But us? We gotta tangle with a dang dragon of all things!?"
The oracle's Salamance roared as it shot blue flame from its mouth. Andromon and Pumpkinmon jumped back as Ben pulled away his Styler.
"Yeah, just once it would be nice if we could have an Oracle that uses something small!" Ben said. "Like a Ratata or something! But no! We gotta fight the Dragon/Flying Type that scorches fields and mountains when enraged!"
"Incoming!" Yuugo jumped away as Salamance slammed into the ground.
"Okay, time to fight back! Lucario, Flash Cannon!" Ben's Friend Pokemon shot a beam of light into the dragon's face, and it did stumble back. Pichu followed up with Thunder Shock.
"Now guys! Sic em!"
"Spiral Sword."
"Meteor Fall!"
Andromon and Pumpkinmon attacked next, pushing it back.
The Oracle however stayed focused. "Not bad. It seems you are more skilled then I imagined…But how will you handle this!?" Salamance flew up into the air and roared. "Dragon Meteor!"
"Wait, what?" Ben looked up and a giant, glowing blue rock came down towards them. "Oh, come on!" Everyone ran away form the point of impact, but when it collided with the floor, it exploded. A flash of blue enveloped the field. The next thing Ben knew, he was on the ground with his head spinning. His friends were scattered on the floor around him. "Ugh…What the heck was that? Salamance shouldn't be able to learn that move…"
The Steelhead laughed. "We have put our Pokemon through special training to grant them skills they would not learn otherwise. Tremble before their might!"
Ben looked up and saw Salamance swoop towards Arata and Yuugo who were still trying to get up. "Guys, look out!"
Yuugo quickly glance above him. "Arata, move!" He pushed his friend out of the way just as the Pokemon came down and trapped him under one of its front legs.
Arata looked behind him after he landed. "Yuugo!"
The boy grunted in pain as weight bearded down on him.
"Any chance we can attack that thing without hitting your partner?" Pumpkinmon asked.
"I forbid the attempt." Andromon replied.
Arata sat there in horror. He saw this before when he was a child. His friend Yuugo pinned down by a monster. An Eater.
Summer, Yuuko and Fei were near mummified in web. From just under the noise down, a thin but tight layer of silk cocooned each of them. They each dangled upside down from a thread connected to their feet that a Combee was holding so they each had a small bee Pokemon lifting them.
Summer looked to her left after attempting to twist out of her cacoon. As humiliated as she was, she knew she had it easy compared to their Pokemon and Digimon. She couldn't even make out any of them in the big fat mess of web they were under. In fact, the other Combee were still spraying String Shot on them. They weren't taking any chances.
Fei was still thrashing wildly trying to rip the web holding her. It was thin so the girls could bend forward and bend their knees, but their arms and legs were pinned down, so she couldn't do much about her situation. She couldn't even speak. Just dangle and struggle making muffled grunts. Yuuko was the only one who stayed still and silent.
"What a joke." The Steelhead scoffed. "Lord Sabios warned us to be weary of you. But after he disabled your two friends it seems you are no true threat to his plans."
Summer stopped trying to get free and listened.
"We are so close now. Just a little longer and he will have enough power from Arceus to make our dream a reality!"
"Sabios is stealing power from Arceus? So, everything must be his doing!"
"It would be beneficial to capture you and learn your secrets. I shall see what Lord Sabios thinks once I take him to you. After you receive your punishment for defying him. Vespiquen!"
Vespiquen flew in front of them awaiting orders. Fei and Summer braced themselves. Then a white light shinned from Yuuko's back through the web. The mass of silk covering her Digimon also glowed. "RizeGreymon! Slide Evolution! WarGrowlmon!" With its bladed arms, he broke free from the web along with Staraptor and swatted the Combee aside before turning his attention towards Vespiquen. "Atomic Blaster!"
The Pokemon was blown away from the captives. Staraptor cut the threads dangling them, and WarGrowlmon dashed in and caught them. As Staraptor charged toward the enemy, the first thing WarGrowlmon did was put the girls down and cut Yuuko's cocoon opening it from the back. She squirmed a bit and got her arms out and tore down the top half of the front that included her gag. "Thank you, WarGrowlmon."
"I'm just glad you're safe."
Yuuko sat up, but didn't bother freeing her legs before reaching to Fei and helped her into a sitting position. "I'll help these two, keep the Pokemon distracted."
"Right." As he ran off to help Staraptor, Yuuko managed to get a small rip into the top of the back of Fei's web and slowly started to help her tare the top half down.
"Phew! Thanks, Yuuko." The two of them scooted to Summer who was struggling on the floor. "Hold still! We'll get you outta there."
They tore down the top half of the cocoon and Summer was free to speak and use her arms. "Thanks. How did you do that Yuuko?"
"I was able to move my fingers under that web. By doing so I managed to stretch the web off of my body just a little bit, but enough to slowly dig with my fingers towards my Digivice." Yuuko explained as the girls started peeling the webbing off of their legs. "I figured WarGrowlmon could cut lose from that web."
"Which gives me an idea." Once Fei finally got the cocoon off of her completely. She sprung to her feet and took out her Digivice.
"CannonBeemon! Slide Evolution! Grademon!" Fei's Digimon burst free and sliced the web around her and Absol apart.
"No! Capture them! Quickly!" The Steelhead ordered.
The remaining Combee charged from all directions. But this time the team was ready. "Staraptor! Absol!" Summer's Pokemon dashed into the crowd, bashing the bees.
"Shining Laser!" Grademon shot beams from her swords.
"Wolkenapalm!" WarGrowlmon took out three Combee in one hit.
"Staraptor, let's set our sights back on Vespiquen before it can use Tailwind again! Arial Ace!"
Vespiquen fired more purple stingers, but with a barrel roll Staraptor gracefully evaded the attack. He then rammed his beak into it so hard it flew into a wall. It tired to get up when Grademon struk. "Cross Slash!" As it dropped back onto the floor, Summer's Styler began to loop around the Vespiquen while it was on the ground.
"No! Get up!" the Steelhead ordered. "Combee, don't just stand there, tie her in web again!" But before his Pokemon could do anything Absol charged at them and batted them away with its paws. "No! This…this can't…" The Steelhead weakly dropped to his knees.
"I think that did it." Summer sighed. "Good work guys. Uh, by the way, Yuuko, not to be rude but…couldn't you…ya know, Slide Evolve or whatever your Digimon while they were tying us up? Rather than waiting for the last minute?"
"I thought that if we looked helpless, he would get over confident and blurt out something useful."
"Oh, I see. Well, he did. We know Sabios has plans for Arceus."
"And it is likely that controlling Arceus was his idea. He must have manipulated Elios into doing it. After all this armor he has sounds special. It might be the only thing capable of controlling it."
Summer nodded. She then was alarmed to hear a buzzing and saw Vespiquen slowly get up. It stared at Summer and flew over to her. "Not again!" Summer closed her eyes and held her arms up to shield herself, anticipating to be webbed again. But after a few seconds of nothing but silence she peeked in front of her. The Vespiquen was holding a Heart Slate out to her. "Huh?"
"I think that bee wants to help you." Fei smiled.
Summer took the Heart Slate. "Really? Thanks!"
The Pokemon seemed delighted. Summer smiled and rubbed its shoulder.
"Arrgh…" Everyone turned to the Steelhead as he got up. "How could I be defeated despite the armor's power…?"
"Wait, what? You remember all of our fight?" Summer asked.
"Remember?! I'll report to Sabios that you've infiltrated our Dark Temple! You will be filled with useless regret when you face his true self!" He pushed Yuuko to the floor and keep running. Fei's first reaction was to hurry to her friend on the floor and Summer was already behind him.
But just before he could take off String Shots fired from multiple directions. His arms were pinned to his sides and he was pulled backward. He landed on his rear and looked up to see is own army of angry Combee. "W-what are you doing?! Release me! I command you!"
Summer, Yuuko and Fei laughed as the Combee trapped him in a cocoon just as they did to them a few moments ago. Only this one was extremely thick. "Let's see how you like it!" Summer chuckled.
Once the Combee were done, Grademon went over and picked up a lose thread to dangle him upside down. "Oh, boy, just what I always wanted. An idiot yo-yo." She said as she bounced the Steelhead up and down.
"Just don't drop him and bonk him on the head." Yuuko said.
"Relax, he's got a helmet." Fei replied.
"So, you really are working with Sabios willingly." Summer said. "Let's take him back to Tanvir and see what he thinks."
Arata was frozen with fear. This is just like what happened when he was a child. The Salamance looked up and him and growled. "Ah…ah…" He slowly backed away.
"Arata, what's wrong?! Snap out of it!" Ben said. "We need to help Yuugo!"
"Hmph. The brat is right to be scared." The oracle scoffed as he looked at Yuuko, who was pinned down by Salamance. "As for you boy, you shall be the first to suffer for defying us!"
The dragon pushed his foot down and Yuugo screamed in pain. That scream scared Arata even more. "It's hopeless! There's nothing we can- His train of thought stopped. What happened after the incident that day came back to him. Thinking of his friends he glared and gritted his teeth. "No. Not this time! I'm not the same brat! I won't run away!"
"Arata, what do we-
"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" Without thinking or listening to Ben he started running towards Salamance.
"What are you-
"Do you wish to go first boy?!" The Steelhead asked. "Salamance, Fire Blast!"
The Dragon shot a blue flame at Arata, who rolled to the side. It exploded behind him and left flames trailing in a x, that blocked Ben from getting closer. Arata jumped at the Salamance and pulled on its long neck. "Get off him!"
"A-Arata!" Yuugo yelled weakly. "Don't!"
The Salamance roared in pain before taking flight with Arata still on it. It soared into the sky and spun around in the air rapidly with the boy barely holding on. "Arata!" Ben ran under them.
"Gah! Pumpkinmon! I don't care if you have to hit me, just get him!"
"But-
"NOW!"
"Rrr…Alright…" A giant pumpkin formed over the Digimon's head. "Trick or Treat!" With great strength, he threw it at the Salamance and it struck it in the head. It came crashing to the ground. Dust rose up as Arata fell off and rolled across the floor.
Ben ran up to him. "Arata, are you okay?!"
"Heh…been better."
Yuuko weakly hobbled over to him. "Arata…why did you do that? You could have gotten yourself killed!"
"If I ran on you again…I would never forgive myself."
"Arata…"
Hearing a roar, everyone looked back at Salamance as it got up. It shot a huge fireball towards the boys. "Look out!" Ben tied to shield his friends. But then Lucario ran in front of them and shot an Aura Sphere that blew the attack up. Then Pichu shot a spark into the target's face.
"Tch! Earthquake!" the oracle ordered. The Salamance stomped on the floor hard and the ground shook, making Lucario and Pichu fall over. "Now Finish them with Dragon Meteor!"
"Not this time…" Yuugo said. "Andromon!"
"Sonic Void." The android Digimon shot a sphere of wind from his hand that made Salamance spiral out of control.
Ben shot his Styler and drew tight loops as fast as he could. "This ends now! Lucario! Pichu!"
Pichu played music from his ukulele that erupted with electricity. Lucario shot a barrage of Aura Spheres until the Pokemon submitted.
"This can't be…" the Oracle dropped to the floor.
Ben sighed as he looked at his hurt friends. "And you guys think Takumi and Ami are the reckless ones."
"Ben!" Yuugo pointed at the Salamance as it walked towards him.
"Oh, come on, you still want to go!?" then Ben saw something in its mouth. "Wait...is that…a Heart Slate?" The Salamance extended its neck to Ben. "You're…giving this to me?" Ben gently took it. "Thanks!" The Pokemon smiled. As did Lucario and Pichu who stood next to it.
"Ouch…" Everyone noticed the Steehead get back up. "How can I possibly lose to…"
"What do you guys think?" Arata asked. "Under a spell or working willingly?"
The man looked up and glared at the boys. "You?!"
"I say willingly." Ben muttered.
"I'll remember this!" The man ran off but Salamance stuck out its tail and tripped him. He landed flat on his face.
Arata glared at the man. "Pumpkinmon."
"Trick or Treat!" Arata's partner threw another pumpkin. In landed on top of the oracle trapping him in it.
"Ow! What is this?! Let me out of here!"
"So, you can start another fuss?" Arata asked. "As if! Once we finish off this temple, we'll have someone roll you into a prison cell or something. Until then you just stew in there."
"How dare you! I-
"Let's get out of here." Ben said, ignoring the oracle's rant. "Can you guys walk?"
"Yeah, sure." Yuugo replied. "And thanks for saving me Arata."
"Heh. No worries. It feels good not to fail a friend for a change."
"Do you know who I am?!"
Ben Arata and Yuugo returned to see everyone else gathered in the plaza. Grademon was still holding onto the Steelhead tied up in web upside down.
"What's going on here?" Yuugo asked.
"Summer's team captured an oracle that hasn't snapped out of it." Nokia replied.
The prisoner struggled and shouted. "Let me go! I'm a temple oracle serving great Sabios!"
"That's nothing to be proud of." Arata said. "Now start talking, chump. What's your parasite of a boss up to?"
"You said he was collecting power from Arceus." Yuuko said. "What is he going to do with it?"
"I don't know what Sabios has in mind! But I know that what he does is right!"
"You have a messed up idea, on what is right, you know that?" Summer glared. "You both should be ashamed for all you have done!"
"After abusing Pokemon to attack the innocent, you have no right to call yourself an oracle." Ben added.
"Let me go already!"
"He must be under a spell, too…" Kira said.
"Either that or this is what that guy warned us about with Steelhead working for Sabios willingly." Yuugo replied. "The oracle we fought was like that."
"And what happened to him?"
"He's trapped underneath a pumpkin the size of a Wailmer." Ben grinned. "Don't worry, he's not going anywhere."
"A…pumpkin?" Tanvir asked awkwardly.
"So, this guy is also working with Sabios willingly?" Nokia asked.
"Either way it's too dangerous to let this guy roam free." Arata said before turning to the two other Steelheads. "You there! Take off this idiot's armor and lock him up somewhere so he can't cause trouble!"
"With pleasure." They waked to the man as Grademon dropped the cocoon to the floor and started dragging the oracle away.
Tanvir sighed once they left. "The temple oracles are all so naïve. That may be why they can be so easily influenced by Sabios."
"Speaking of, all that's left is to take him down." Yuugo said. "I want in on that action."
"Me too!" Nokia added. "I'll make that jerk pay for what he did to all those poor Pokemon! And to Takumi and Ami as well!"
"Then it's settled." Ben nodded. "The three of us and Summer here are putting an end to this once and for all!"
"We should go with you too." Arata said.
Yuuko put a hand on his shoulder. "No. If we make our group too big it'll slow them down."
"And if something happens to us, we're counting on you." Ben added. "Also, keep an eye on Takumi and Ami."
"Speaking of them, how are they doing?" Summer asked.
Nokia sighed. "They won't even talk to anyone. I guess they're upset about not being able to help."
Ben looked down. "I feel for them…Take care of them for us okay?"
"Will do." Tanvir nodded. "Now more than ever we're counting on you."
Back in the Light Temple, standing next to Arceus, Ellios stared at Sabios who was with two oracles. "What are you doing? I heard that the Dark Temple is under attack already!"
Sabios trembled. His face displayed fear. "Please heat me out Ellios! The intruders have creatures from another world that can evolve at will and these people called Pokemon Rangers use these tools we've never seen to do some twirling thing!"
"Don't give me such nonsense excuses!" the golden oracle roared. Sabios immediately bowed onto the floor with his head hanging low. "I'll have to make a move myself!" he stormed past Sabios and walked away. The two Steelhead panicked and followed.
"Hehehe…" Sabios dropped his panicked display and stood up. "He's such a simple man. He then walked over to the pedestal with the glowing orb. "Thanks to those annoying Rangers, now the captains have come to their senses. I guess controlling all four captains is not possible for Ellios, even with the help of Golden Armor. Anyway, Ellios did an excellent job. But it ends now. He's no longer useful. With this orb full of Pokemon power, the world is in my hand…" he smiled, and he took the orb away. I've been dreaming for a long time…of flying a gigantic fortress to rule the world from the sky. It cannot attack the ground easily, but it can't be counter attacked from there. I needed this orb for the sole purpose of creating a fortress in the sky!" Slowly he began to walk away with his prize in hand and a wicked grin. "Hehehe…Hahaha!"
As he left Arceus's eyes stopped glowing.
Still in their cots they were set in, Takumi and Ami heard Fei's voice from the other side of the door. "Alright, alright, you can see em, just don't cause a headache."
Ravio came inside with Terriermon and Palmon and closed the door behind him. "Er, you called for me?"
"Hi Ravio." Takumi smiled. "Terriermon, Palmon, thanks for bringing him."
"No problem." Terriermon replied. "But are you sure about this?"
"I am."
"What's going on?" the boy asked.
Ami spoke next. "You want to know what happened to your father, right?"
"Yeah! More than anything! I know Sabios is manipulating him! I have to do something!"
"Good. Takumi and I were wondering if you would be interested in a little deal."
For those wondering what the moves Vespaquin and Salamance weren't supposed to to know where all about, those are moves they can learn, but not by leveling up. AKA TMs, Move Tutors, or by breeding. I figured I'd do something special for the Dark Temple bosses to show Sabios isn't messing around. Because man, did I have a hard time with these bosses (CURSE YOU VESPIQUEN AND YOUR INSTANTANEOUS ATTACKS!) But anyway, one Dark Temple fight to go, and it may or may not be a two prater.
