Hiccup was enjoying his life in Hogwarts. It was interesting, annoying and dangerous sometimes. But his heart still remained at Berk, his real home. Sure he did accept Hogwarts as his home but it was never the same and he had not forgotten Dumbledore's promise about sending him back home. But he felt strange. It was like he was slowly forgetting things. Like what his best human friend's name was. Or where his house was in the village of Berk. He was about to lose hope of ever returning home but that night Dumbledore asked for Harry, Hiccup, Ron and Hermione to his office.

"Yes Professor?" asked Hiccup when all four of them entered.

"Hiccup I have good news for you." he said, getting out a strange object. "Do you know what this is?"

Hiccup shook his head while the rest of the Gryffindors nodded.

"It's a time turner…" said Hermione. "but it looks rather different."

"Yes, Miss Granger." said Dumbledore. "It is, but it's no ordinary time turner. This one was designed to send people back in time or bring someone from it…"

"That's the reason I ended up here?" asked Hiccup.

"It seems so. It was a secret project in the Ministry but I was able to get it last year and able to fix it. It should send you back but…"

Dumbledore looked down.

"What is it?" asked Hiccup.

"There is always a price in great magics like this. Hiccup here was able to get his power of talking to animals thanks to this time turner."

"Isn't that a good thing?" asked Ron.

"It could be, but he is forgetting things haven't you Hiccup?" he asked.

Hiccup slowly. "It started since Voldemort's return…Now I'm not even sure what my girlfriend's name was."

Ron and Hermione both flinched at the name.

"Yes soon you will forget everything about your home. If you don't return soon."

"Then...if he goes back to his real home…" said Harry who was standing uncomfortably next to Ron.

"He will forget what happened over the last year." said Dumbledore. "And I decide to erase the memories of him too."

"Why?" asked Hermione.

"So that it will not affect the Ministry. They will notice your disappearance and they will look into it. We cannot let that happen."

The four Gryffindors stared at each other. They will forget about each other?

"But…"

"Don't worry," said Dumbledore. "The magic will take its effects during the night. When everyone's asleep they will simply wake up the next morning totally forgetting about Hiccup."

Hiccup felt strange. Everyone? Forget that he even existed?

"That hurts…" he said, trying to lift the mood.

Ron laughed but was cut off by Hermione who stepped on his foot, hard.

"Let's start." said Dumbledore. "It will take a minute or two so…"

"We have to say goodbye." said Hiccup, turning to the three.

"Yeah…" said Harry looking down.

"I'm going to miss you." said Hermione.

"Until you forget me." said Hiccup, giving her a sad smile.

Hermione bursted into tears. She flung her arms around him. Hiccup was very surprised. He hugged her back soon Harry and Ron joined in too.

"It's time…" said Dumbledore.

"Just a moment please." said Hiccup.

He got out his bag.

"Guys? Can you come out for a sec?"

[Sure!]

"Not all of you…" said Hiccup. "Only Toothless, Shard, Gena, and Skewt."

The three came out.

[What's wrong?] asked Toothless, looking at Hiccup's tearful face.

"Nothing Toothless. We're going home…"

[You're going?] asked Gena. [I don't understand…]

[Me too…] said Shard.

"See, when Toothless and I go back home you are going to forget us." he said calmly though his mind wasn't. "So I want you to return everyone in your home to where they belong."

[But - but…] said Gena. [You said you will protect me…]

"I'm sorry Gena." said Hiccup, tears rolling down his cheeks. It felt so cold. So cold inside.

[Don't worry Gena I'll protect you.] said Shard. Raping her wings around the snake.

"I love you guys." said Hiccup hugging Shard.

[Goodbye…] said Shard.

Hiccup nodded to Dumbledore and he grabbed Toothless and Dumbledore turned the time turner and its magic closed in around the two. Hiccup waved at Harry, Ron, Hermione, Shard, Dew and Dumbledore. He was going home...Finally.

Hiccup woke with a start.

"I am in my bed…" said Hiccup. He saw Toothless wake up and look around the room. Their home. "I'm in my room...We are in my house! We are in our house!"

Hiccup and Toothless started jumping around in joy. Hiccup could feel a warm feeling rush over his body.

"What's going on here?"

He turned to his father. His dad! He started remembering everything. Astrid, his home, his dad, everything.

"Dad! I missed you so much!" cried Hiccup hugging his father the best way he could.

"Sure we only saw each other last night but I guess you can miss me." said Stoick hugging his son back.

"Dad, I traveled to the future! I am a wizard, did you know that? I mean it's crazy. I could talk to animals and - and…"

"Son, I think you had some crazy dream there." said Stoick gently patting his son on his shoulder.

Hiccup walked out to the village and smiled he was back! Finally after a year he was finally back.

He stared at Toothless.

"I guess now I can't talk to animals…" he said. "Too bad. And it seems time didn't pass here."

Toothless nodded.

"Hey Hiccup!" cried Astrid. Astrid and Stormfly were walking toward them smiling. "You're late! We're all waiting!"

"What?" asked Hiccup. "What are they waiting for?"

"Uh, you lesson Hiccup. At the Dragon Training Academy?" asked Astrid, looking suspicious.

"Oh yeah…!" said Hiccup, remembering what was supposed to happen if he hadn't sneaked out for a night flight a year ago or should he say hours ago? "Magic is so confusing…"

"Magic?" asked Astrid. "What are you talking about?"

"I dunno, I'll tell you later."

"Tell her what later?" asked a voice.

Hiccup turned and saw Fishlegs and the rest of the Dragon Training Academy members.

"Tell us, Hiccy, no secrets." said Tuff.

"Yeah," said Ruff, nodding.

"Fine, fine." said Hiccup nodding. "Well, Toothless and I landed in a dark, creepy Forest…"

.

.

.

"That's some dream Hiccup," said Astrid.

"Yeah, we can't travel through time." said Fishlegs nodding.

"But it's real." said Hiccup. Toothless nodded. "See, Toothless agress!"

"The dragon doesn't even know what we're talking about!" said Snotlout, he laughed until Toothless threw him to a wall. "Stupid dragon."

"It's only a dream Hiccup." said Astrid.

"But it isn't…" Hiccup mumbled.

Later that day Hiccup sat down on his bed.

"If I go to sleep now I'll forget ever went to...what was the school's name again?" asked Hiccup to Toothless. "Arg, I'm forgetting already. I can't remember the Headmaster's name now or the...the forest."

He ran his hand through his hair then he pulled out a feather. Shard's feather.

Epilogue

FEW YEARS LATER

Hiccup had forgotten everything that had happened five years ago. He was cleaning his room after the attack of Drago Bludvist. He was going through his desk when he grabbed a notebook.

"Huh, I don't remember writing this…" said Hiccup. He opened the notebook and found a feather. It looked oddly familiar. It's golden color was wonderful. Then memories started returning to him.

"I - I remember…"

Thanks for reading.

I hope I see you next time.

Bye!
