Episode 2 part 7

Carmen grinned and nodded.

"Oh yeah," she said, "The stories I could tell you." Rafael groaned and sank down in his chair. Elle stifled a chuckle.

Carmen was giggling.

"You should have seen his itchy dance that time he tripped and fell into a patch of Daisies!" she said, "he was practically turning cartwheels!"

"Carmen that wasn't funny!" said Rafael glaring at her.

Carmen just grinned.

"I have an allergy to Daisies," said Rafael, "if I so much as touch one I start itching like crazy and my hands get so sweaty that I can't keep from dropping things."

Lisa looked surprised,

"of all the things for us to have in common who would have thought it would be that?" she said, "Daisies do me the exact same way!"

"Really?" said Rafael, "I was beginning to think that I the only one."

Lisa shook her head,

"Nope, you're not the only one." Rafael and Lisa smiled at each other.

"Well you guys are no fun," snorted Carmen.

Rafael and Lisa chuckled. they knew it burned Carmen up when she couldn't embarrass her brother. The rest of the mean past pretty uneventfully. Soon night had fallen, and it was time for Lisa and Elle to go.

"It was nice to meet you Lisa," said Rafael's dad, "and you too, Elle."

"Thank you," said Elle, "It was nice….," Elle trailed off and cocked her head, Listening.

"Lisa! There's someone sneaking around outside," she hissed

"There are a lot of people around," said Rafael crinkling his eyebrows, "circus camps are busy."

"I know," said Elle, "But this guy is behind the trailer and he's walking sneaky!"

Lisa's tensed, and her hand closed around the handle of her sword.

"What? What's going on here?" asked Vito.

"All of you, stay inside," said Elle instead of answering the question, "Carmina, Keep Carmen where you can see her."

Elle started toward the door.

"What is going on here?!" snapped Vito Jr.

"It's a long story that we don't have time to tell you right now." Whispered Lisa moving to follow Elle, "Now stay put!" Elle and Lisa slipped noiselessly out the door and into the shadows. They moved silently through the night until the caught sight of a sinister shadow trying to look in the window of Rafael's family trailer.

The figure was suddenly grabbed spun around and slammed against the side of the trailer. Before he could move there were two blades at his throat.

Rafael and his dad came running around the side of the of the trailer. Vito jr. switched on a flashlight and illuminated the face of the intruder.

"Valentino?!" Said Vito Jr., "Girls let him go he's a member of the clan."

"No, he's not, dad." Said Rafael, "Not anymore." Vito looked Confused.

"What do you mean?" he asked looking at his son.

"Three months ago, Valentino was banished from the clan for interfering with Lisa's initiation trials." Replied Rafael, "That's why he's sneaking around, he's not supposed to be here, and he's knows it!"

Suddenly Elle kicked Valentino in the groin. Valentino collapsed in pain.

"When you get out of the fetal position go tell Kano I said, 'Hello'." She snapped

Elle turned to Lisa,

"We'd better get back, I don't like the idea of leaving the others alone any longer." She said

Lisa nodded.

"Go ahead," said Rafael, "When Valentino can walk again Dad and I will make sure that he leaves."

Lisa and Elle hurried back to there horses, climbed into the saddle and hurried off back to Pine Hollow.

They were on high alert the whole way back.

"What do you think Valentino was doing at the camp anyway?" asked Lisa

"I'm not sure," said Elle, "It could have been for anything from sneaking a visit to his family to doing recon for Kano."

"That's true," said Lisa, "But I can't help wondering. If Kano hates you as much as you say he does, why hasn't he made a move yet? I mean what about all that stuff Jayden was spouting about Kano wanting you to suffer?"

"That suffer bit was a little misleading," said Elle, "Knowing Kano what that really means is that Kano is trying to figure out a way to lure me into a position where I have to fight him on his terms instead of my own."

"There is no I anymore," said Lisa resolutely, "It's we now and we're NOT gonna play this out by his rules! Elle, I think it's time to take the fight to Kano."
