We open to Raven still staring at the unconscious bodies of the recently released Terra and Beast Boy in shock. Raven ran to inspect the body of her green teammate, who showed no signs of breathing. The other Titans soon ran in and saw the awful sight of what Raven was seeing. All the Titans stood in shock at the sight of their unconscious teammate.
"Raven?" Starfire asked.
"He used the spell." Raven replied.
"Is he...dead?" Cyborg asked reluctantly.
Raven gave a sharp glare to her bionic teammate, hinting she did not want to hear that at all.
"Kid Flash, get the defibrillators; Cyborg check his pulse." Robin commanded as he, Starfire and Jinx stood by Raven, who was surveying her unconscious teammate.
Cyborg ran over and placed his fingers on Beast Boy's neck. "No pulse." He concluded.
"Hit him with the defib!" Raven commanded as she tore Beast Boy's suit off to reveal his green chest.
Kid Flash did as Raven commanded, placed the defibrillators on his chest and gave him a shock.
"No pulse." Cyborg announced.
"Give him chest compressions!" Robin commanded.
Raven did as Robin said and started pumping her teammate's chest 30 times.
"Nothing." Cyborg announced.
"Hit him again." Raven commanded.
Kid Flash used the defibrillators again, but still..."No pulse."
Raven started performing chest compressions again on Beast Boy's chest, still doing 30. Kid Flash then used the defibrillators again.
"No pulse." Cyborg announced, sounding like he was close to tears.
"We have to keep going." Raven commanded and she started to do chest compressions again.
"Raven." Robin said, trying to get the empath's attention, but she was too occupied giving Beast Boy chest compressions.
"Hit him again." Raven commanded.
"Raven-"
"Now!!!!!" Raven's shouting made Kid Flash comply and he used the defibrillators again on his green teammate.
"Raven, still nothing." Cyborg announced once again, now having a tear fall down from his human eye.
"I need to keep going!" Raven shouted.
"Raven-" A saddened Robin grabbed ahold of both of Raven's arms, grabbing her attention. "-it's over. I'm sorry. I think the curse has taken its core."
Raven soon stopped doing chest compressions and started to stare at the lifeless body of her green teammate. Starfire started crying her eyes out due to the fact Beast Boy is now dead, Robin comforted his girlfriend by holding her in a tight embrace, Jinx was saddened by Beast Boy's loss that tears started escaping, Kid Flash couldn't help but tear up himself, Cyborg was wiping away a stray tear away from his human eye, while Raven was doing nothing but stare at his body in horror.
Cyborg placed a hand on Raven's shoulder and said, "I'm sorry Raven, it's over."
Raven just let the sounds of Starfire's crying and the silent mourning from the others fill her ears, since she was in disbelief that her friend and teammate was dead. Cyborg placed a hand on her shoulder, implying he wanted her to leave him. "No! NOOOOOOO!" Raven screamed as she forcibly removed Cyborg's hand from her shoulder. "No, he has a strong heart, he wants to live!"
Raven started performing 30 more chest compressions on his chest and then she reluctantly performed mouth-to-mouth. Raven performed this action many more times while the others watched on, not sure if she will be able to do it.
"Raven how are-"
"He wants to live!" Raven shouted at Jinx. "For goodness sake he wants to live! He wants to live!" Raven shouted, getting teary eyed. "Do you hear me you idiot?! You want to live!!! You want to live you idiot!!!! Live! Fight for your life!" Raven slapped Beast Boy's face in order to wake him up. "Fight!" Raven slapped him again. "Fight! Fight!" Raven slapped him again, only this time a tear fell from her eye fell on his face. "Fight!" Raven slapped him again. This time there was a faint sound of breathing coming from the green Titan. This sudden revelation made Raven's eyes go wide as did the other Titans.
"He's breathing." Cyborg announced happily.
Robin then smiled at the sight. "Give him some air."
Jinx got the oxygen mask, placed it on his mouth and nose and started pumping air into his airways. "Take it easy now." Jinx said to Beast Boy.
Raven was feeling something she had never felt in a while, she felt very happy that Beast Boy was alive. "Breathe slowly." Raven said to her comrade. "Breathe." Beast Boy took Raven's advice and breathed slowly.
"Oh Raven! Thank X'Hal you saved our friend!" Starfire shouted as she pulled Raven into a bone crunching hug.
"You are crushing me Star." Raven said.
"Now that everyone's happy, I have a question: What do we do about your unconscious lady friend?" Kid Flash asked as he pointed to the unconscious body of Terra.
"Friend Terra?" Starfire reacted.
Cyborg approached her unconscious body and started to check her pulse. "She's alive."
"Get those two back to the tower, Slade could possibly still be here we gotta go search for him." Robin said. "Cyborg, Raven, you take Beast Boy and Terra to the infirmary; the rest of us will look for Slade."
"You got it Rob." Cyborg replied.
Robin, Jinx, Starfire and Kid Flash left the T-Jet to go and look for their arch-nemesis.
"Raven, you watch the two, I'll start flying." Cyborg said.
"Ok Cyborg."
Later.
The T-Jet flew off the island just as the remaining Titans started their search.
Robin picked up the holographic cube and pushed the button on it, to see it was busted. "Busted." Said Robin.
Starfire looked underneath a huge rock to see if there was anything, while Jinx walked into the cave.
Kid Flash took notice of a nearby island and ran towards it. Once he got there, he found a disk with the Slade symbol and another holographic cube, implying that Slade was there. Kid Flash ran back towards Robin and handed him the cube. "Found out how he communicated with us."
"Not sure how this will help us find him." Robin said. "I suggest we go to 'Marrow's' apartment after we sweep the area."
"Or we can go into the cave to see if there's any clues?" Jinx shouted from the cave.
"How did she hear us?" Kid Flash asked.
A few moments later, the remaining Titans walked into the cave to see Jinx standing by an archway and in front of them, another archway with no way to get across. "How did Beast Boy perform this task?" Starfire asked.
"Um...He turned into a bird and flew, obviously." Jinx rudely replied.
"Or..." Kid Flash disappeared and somehow was on the other side of the archway. He gave a 'Ta-Da' pose which everyone stood amazed at.
"How did you get across?" Robin asked.
"There's a bridge in front of you. It's just invisible to those who don't look." Robin gave his best friend a dissatisfied look which made the speedster sigh. "Fine, I saw this in a movie."
Robin smiled at Kid Flash's confession and said, "There we go."
Later.
The four made it to the room where Beast Boy retrieved the spell. They noticed the dead knight and see a sword which recently looked clean.
Robin picked up the sword and used some powder to see if there are any finger prints, unfortunately there were none. "Nothing."
"What good are looking for fingerprints?" Jinx asked.
"Back in my days in Gotham, my mentor used to use the fingerprints he found at crime scenes to track down the suspects." Robin replied. "And unfortunately, Slade's too smart for that. I was confident he would slip up."
"What is this sword?" Starfire asked.
"Judging by the clothing on this poor old soul, he was probably the user of the spell who escaped death and became cursed with immortality." Kid Flash replied. "Maybe the sword was the only way to kill the poor soul."
"And I thought Batman was good at deduction." Robin commented.
"I learnt it from the best." Kid Flash replied, implying he is referring to his best friend.
"I don't see anything that can lead us to Slade." Said Jinx.
"Maybe you don't need to be lead to me, perhaps you need to walk right into me." Said the sinister monotone of Slade who walked out of a shadowy corner.
"Slade." Robin hissed.
"Robin, so finally good to-" Kid Flash threw a pebble at Slade's head, interrupting his little monologue. "And was that necessary?" Slade asked.
"Just wanted to see if you were a hologram." Kid Flash replied. "And I can confirm he is not a hologram...Unless he could be another android. Better check him for nuts and bolts." Kid Flash quickly put on a rubber glove to perform a 'search.'
"I'm as real as Beast Boy's body lying in your T-Jet." Slade assured the speedster.
"That's where you're wrong Slade, Beast Boy is alive." Robin informed the mercenary.
Slade's eye went wide in disbelief. "No! Impossible. He was dead, I was sure of it."
"Friend Raven claimed he had a strong heart while she revived him." Said Starfire.
"I guess he does." Slade agreed.
"I know why you wanted to free Terra from her prison." Robin said. "Revenge. You just couldn't leave her in peace."
"You have to thank me Robin, I know you tried to free her."
"By using Beast Boy as your pawn!"
"Because if I were to be cursed with death, than I wouldn't have gotten revenge." Slade said.
"And I assume you would have gone with immortality if you had the chance?" Jinx asked.
"Immortality sounds satisfying, but as a father of two, I refuse to watch my children die while I live on, watching future generations be born and then die." Slade explained. "Because of Terra, I died and made a deal with an intergalactic demon and didn't stop my son from joining your little club."
"Son?" Robin asked shocked. "One of our members is your son?"
"That's a story for another time." Slade replied to the surprised Titans. "Now, I shall take pleasure in finishing you off." Slade pulled his bo-staff out and started to charge at the Titans.
Jinx throws a hex blast at the merc, but he dodged it flawlessly by performing a Matrix style dodge, got up and kicked Starfire in the chest.
Kid Flash tried to sneak up on Slade with his super speed, but he was too fast for him and hit the speedster with his bo-staff. "Predictable." Slade said to the speedster.
Robin threw a birdarang at the merc, but he quickly used his staff to deflect. But wasn't fast enough to anticipate Robin coming towards him with an air kick, so he quickly used his bo-staff as a shield, causing the boy wonder to snap it in two.
"Robin, your skills have improved since we last fought." Slade commented. "I'm impressed." Slade threw an explosive disk at the boy wonder, but he quickly dodged it by performing a backflip.
Starfire tried to tackle the merc, but he quickly hits her in the face with a piece of his broken staff; now using both pieces as batons.
Jinx used her hex abilities to make the cave crumble a bit, causing some rocks to fall; but Slade quickly dodged them by performing a roll. Kid Flash tried to attack him again, but Slade, somehow faster than the average speedster punched him in the face.
"Ok, somehow he's faster than the average speedster." Kid Flash commented as he was feeling his jaw for any broken bones.
"You think you're the first speedster I encountered?" Slade asked, while kicking Jinx in the stomach and then throwing her towards a charging Starfire.
Slade threw one of his batons at Robin, but the boy wonder caught it and threw it back at Slade; who caught it.
Starfire managed to fire some star bolts from her eyes and they managed to hit Slade. The merc got up and just dusted his shoulder off. He quickly got hit in the face by Kid Flash then in the leg by a hex blast from Jinx. The merc quickly threw two explosive disks which Starfire blew up in mid air.
Starfire blasted the merc in the shoulder before he could get up again. The merc then performed a cartwheel, kicking Robin in the chest as he did so and disarming him of his bo-staff. Slade dropped his batons and caught the staff and used it to hit Jinx, Starfire and a speeding Kid Flash.
"He's fast." Jinx said.
"You're making me feel slow." Kid Flash replied.
Starfire fired a barrage at starbolts at the merc, who deflected them by spinning the staff. Robin managed to get up and performed an air kick at the merc, who grabbed the boy wonder by his ankle and threw him at the wall.
"You missed." Slade commented before he got electrocuted and fell to his knees. Before he could get up though, Kid Flash managed to knock the merc out with a punch.
"That's for being faster than me." Kid Flash said while shaking his wrist.
Starfire and Jinx stared at the unconscious body in surprise since they didn't think they could've defeated the merc even if they tried hard enough.
"Did we just..." Jinx asked, surprised.
"We are the winners." Starfire announced happily.
"Yeah, take that!" Kid Flash exclaimed.
While the other Titans looked happy that they defeated the merc, Robin on the other hand wasn't so sure himself. He looked rather skeptical, since they defeated Slade, while hard, easier than the other times.
"Titans, take him back to the tower." Robin ordered. "And put him in the prison cell."
Meanwhile.
Beast Boy and Terra, now wearing a hospital gown instead of her Slade suit, were both in the infirmary, getting treated by Cyborg. He looked at a clipboard with a piece of paper whilst Raven entered the room.
"How are they doing?" Raven asked.
"Beast Boy is still doing fine, considering he was dead for two minutes." Cyborg replied. "And Terra is still unconscious and hasn't even woken up once."
Raven took a quick glance at Terra and asked, "You found a way to remove her suit?"
"Luckily, Rob knew some guy at Wayne Enterprises who's very good with technology. Guided me with this high tech gear." Cyborg replied. "Worked like a fox, no pun intended."
Raven stared at Beast Boy with so much guilt, since she blamed herself for Beast Boy betraying the team. If she told Beast Boy about the spell than none of this wouldn't have happened.
"Why didn't you tell anyone about the spell?" Cyborg soon asked.
"What?" Raven asked.
"The spell, why didn't you tell anyone?"
Raven turned to face her bionic teammate and replied, "You saw what happened to Beast Boy. I was scared that if I told any of you, one of you might've tried to do it."
"Well, I wouldn't have been stupid to perform a spell that lethal." Cyborg assured her.
"No, you wouldn't have. You would've been selfless." Raven said. "I wasn't just scared for any of you dying, I was scared you might've been cursed with immortality and be forced to watch all of us, including me, die. And I didn't want any of you to watch me die when I ran my core. I hope you don't-"
"Raven, I get it. You were just being there for us." Cyborg assured her.
"But will Beast Boy understand?" Raven asked.
"Beast Boy will." Replied the familiar voice of the green teen who had just woken up.
"Beast Boy?" Raven reacted. "How much of that did you hear?"
"He listened to all of it." Cyborg said assuringly.
"Yup I did." Beast Boy said. "Wait, all of what? I only heard the part where you said you didn't want anyone to watch you die."
"So you understand why I hid it from you?" Raven asked.
"I do." Beast Boy replied as Raven approached him. "Raven, I'm so sorry I betrayed you. All of you. I was just desperate to get rid of Terra that I-"
Raven interrupted Beast Boy by pulling him into a an unexpected hug. "That's for being alive." Raven said. She then pulled out of the hug and slapped him in the face. "And that's for dying leading me to put my lips on yours."
"You kissed me?" Beast Boy asked.
"No, quit ruining the moment."
"You started it by mentioning you put your lips on mine." Beast Boy retorted.
"It was mouth to mouth." Raven explained. "I had to do what I had to do to bring you back."
"Wait, I died?" Beast Boy soon asked.
Cyborg and Raven gave each other a look that said, "We don't want to say it."
"You were dead for two minutes." Cyborg replied.
"Wait, so the spell worked." Beast Boy said.
"Yes, it did." Raven confirmed as she pointed to the unconscious body of Terra.
"Terra?" Beast Boy reacted.
"She's alive." Cyborg replied. "She just needs all the rest she needs, she's been in a stone prison after all."
"Yeah." Beast Boy said. "You will let me know when she wakes up?"
"Of course Grass Stain, we will." Cybrog replied. "But you'll be needing some rest as well, since you just died."
"Please stop reminding me." Beast Boy begged.
"Ok, I guess you need some time to process." Cyborg said.
"Yeah." Said Beast Boy.
"Honestly, I think Beast Boy is going to need someone to talk to about all this." Raven said to Cyborg.
"I don't know if I want to." Beast Boy said sadly.
"Trust me, it will help." Raven assured him.
There was a beeping noise and Cyborg opened up his T-communicator. "Cyborg to Robin, what is it?"
"Prepare the cell." Robin replied. "We finally got him."
"Slade?" Cyborg asked.
"How did you know?" Robin asked.
Later.
We see Robin and Cyborg escorting Slade to a cell that looked to the similar to the one Raven was locked in before she awoken her father. Slade appeared to be accepting his fate, rather than trying to find a way to escape. "And this is all it took to catch me?" Slade asked. "I'm impressed."
"I hope he meant that genuinely." Cyborg said after he threw Slade into the room and closed the door.
Robin looked away looking troubled, this didn't go unnoticed by the bionic teen. "You ok Rob?"
"He was taken out easier than our last encounters." Robin replied.
"That's bad, huh?" Cyborg asked.
"Joker did something similar back in my days in Gotham. He surrendered so he could take over the asylum." Robin replied. "Do you have any security cameras set up in there?"
"Sure do." Cyborg replied. "Wait, he still has that disruptor that stopped all my tech from working."
Robin threw Cyborg a little trigger device, which he caught. "Try and do something good with this tech, this kind of stuff could be useful." Robin suggested.
"Sure thing." Cyborg replied.
The two then start walking down the corridor still intending on chatting. "How is our patients?"
"Terra's still sleeping, Beast Boy's wide awake." Cyborg replied.
"What's his condition?"
"Honestly, he started off being good old Beast Boy, then he looked uncomfortable when Raven mentioned he died." Cyborg replied.
"I would have been." Robin retorted.
The two walked into the infirmary where they see Starfire was holding Beast Boy in one of her bone crunching hugs. "Friend! I am so happy you are not deceased!"
"Robin, tell your girlfriend she's killing me." Beast Boy begged while gasping for air.
Cyborg laughed while Robin wasn't, since he thinks Beast Boy is still trying to forget he died.
"Star, I think that'll be enough." Robin said to his alien girlfriend.
Starfire let go of Beast Boy and said, "Apologies Beast Boy."
"It's ok Star, I'd react the same way if you died and come back." Beast Boy said.
"Well, it's great to know you're alive and well." Kid Flash said.
"So, did I miss anything while I was out?" Beast Boy asked.
"We have finally locked up Slade." Starfire replied.
"Wait, we actually got him?" Asked a surprised Beast Boy.
"Yup." Jinx confirmed.
"We tested, he was not a hologram or a robot." Kid Flash replied.
"Oh, that's cool." Beast Boy said.
Kid Flash's cocky smirk soon vanished, noting Beast Boy's anticlimactic response. "Okay. Expected a witty joke or...I don't know, a little something more."
"Beast Boy has been through a lot, give him some time to get used to things." Raven requested.
Beast Boy then took notice at Robin and gave his lead a regrettable stare. "Robin, I'm sorry I-"
Robin sighed. "Beast Boy, it's ok." Robin assured his teammate.
"But I-"
"Beast Boy, I was scared you were going to go down the same path as Terra, but in the end, I'm glad you didn't." Robin said to his teammate.
"So, I'm still a Titan?" Beast Boy asked.
"Yes, but I advise you take some time off." Robin said.
"For once Robin, I kind of agree." Beast Boy said to his leader.
"Get some rest, I have some work I need to attend to." Robin said as he left the room.
"So, what are we going to do with Slade?" Raven asked.
"Robin has informed the Jump City Department for the police and they are to take him tomorrow." Starfire replied.
"I'm not cooking him some breakfast." Cyborg said. "But I will cook us some of my famous spaghetti and meatballs to mark this special moment."
"I call dibs on the first batch!" Kid Flash exclaimed.
"No, I call the dibs." Starfire said.
"Can we just not do dibs?" Jinx asked.
The Titans ran out of the room, while Beast Boy and Raven stuck by. Raven stared at Beats Boy, feeling his stress and sadness over dying.
"So I was dead?" Beast Boy asked.
Raven sighed. "Well, Cyborg did mention it."
"I know it's just...I died." Beast Boy said glumly. "How am I supposed to react to this?"
"Do you need time alone?" Raven asked.
Beast Boy jumped off his stretcher and walked out of the infirmary. "Yeah, I really do. I just need to process this."
Raven looked at her green teammate, saddened since she could feel his sadness and confusion over dying. It saddened her to see him be this glum. She then looked at the unconscious body of Terra before exiting the room. After Raven left the infirmary, Terra's finger started twitching.
Meanwhile.
In Robin's room, the boy wonder was watching the merc on a monitor trying to see if he'll slip up. "What are you up to?"
Starfire entered his room with a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. "I assumed you would be in here so I brought the feast Cyborg has prepared for us in celebration." The Tamaranean placed the plate near her boyfriend and starts watching the monitor. "He has not moved?"
"Mostly small movements." Robin replied while taking a bite out of a meatball. "Nothing big yet. He looks like he's planning something, I just can't put my finger on what it is."
"Did Scarecrow give you any useful information?"
"He mentioned there are more cloudbursts out there, didn't even give me location." Robin said.
"If there are other cloudbursts, than how come we don't have the locations?"
"Scarecrow was under the influence of truth serum when me and Kid Flash got in, he mentioned Slade didn't tell him the locations; heck Scarecrow didn't even make spares."
"So Slade made them behind the Scarecrow's back?"
"That's what I want to find out." Robin said.
"And Beast Boy?"
Robin took a look at the screen, having a strange feeling that things weren't over. "I don't think we're out of the woods just yet."
The next day.
We see Terra in the infirmary, she appears to be sleeping but she then woke up. She started by slowly opening her eyes, she looked at the ceiling feeling a little dazed and a little confused. "The infirmary?"
Terra analysed her surroundings, still feeling a little dazed and a little confused. She looked down and saw she was no longer wearing her suit anymore, she was in a hospital gown. She sat up and commented, "The suit."
"Oh good, your awake."
Terra looked to her left and saw Jinx standing beside another stretcher. "Hi."
Terra gave Jinx a terrified stare hinting she was startled by this.
Meanwhile.
We see Raven reading a book on her bed, minding her own business, until she heard some knocking on the door. She jumped off her bed, walked towards the door and opened it to see Beast Boy at the front door. "Hi." Beast Boy said awkwardly, similar to Raven.
"Hi." Raven replied. "I'm assuming you wish to talk."
"Well, I didn't know who else to talk to." Beast Boy explained.
"Come in and sit down." Raven said.
Beast Boy followed the empath into her room and sat on a chair across from another chair which Raven sat on.
"Now I know dying has...become quite a...emotional experience." Raven started. "Not just for us, but to you as well. How are you feeling?"
Beast Boy really wanted to start things with a joke to lighten the mood a bit, but he was too bummed out to do it. "Honestly, when you hear from one of your closest friends that you died, it becomes too much to take in."
"But how do you feel?" Raven asked.
"I feel...I don't know what I'm feeling." Beast Boy said.
"Do you feel saddened and scared?"
"Yeah." Beast Boy replied.
"You're in distraught." Raven explained.
"Funny thing is, I don't even remember dying. I used the spell on Terra and then...there was black." Beast Boy explained. "I even swore I..." Beast Boy swallowed a gulp. "...I heard my Mom telling me to step into the light. She told me, her and my Dad were waiting for me. I didn't know what to do, so I started following the light and then...I woke up."
Raven listened to everything Beast Boy told her looking calm on the surface, but inside she felt saddened that Beast Boy was close to death.
"I still have to thank you for saving my life though." Beast Boy said.
"You're welcome. You think you were terrified of what was going on? I was terrified of losing you as well." Raven explained. "And a part of me was relived."
Beast Boy shot out of his chair, angered. "Relived?! Do you hate me so much?! What was that hug about, Raven?! What was that hug about if you were relived I was dead?! Or that slap from you for dying?! Huh?!"
Raven looked at the window and then replied, "I was relieved because I didn't have to kill you."
Beast Boy raised an angry eyebrow at Raven. "What? You were intending to kill me?!"
"No. But Robin, told me in the possible future, I killed you." Raven explained.
Beast Boy's anger soon vanished once he heard that update, and went wide eyed in shock. "You killed me?"
"According to Robin, it was a mercy killing since you wanted those Terra hallucinations to end." Raven explained.
"So I guess this would've happened if Robin didn't figure out earlier than expected?" Beast Boy theorised.
"Are you seeing Terra?" Raven asked.
"I...haven't." Beast Boy replied. "When I died, do you think the Terra hallucinations died with it?"
"Honestly, that's very logical coming from you." Raven commented.
Beast Boy chuckled. "Was that an attempt at humour?"
"Honestly, it was more of an observation." Raven explained.
"Well, whatever it was, it worked, really." Beast Boy said.
"But in all seriousness, maybe that's how the Terra hallucinations disappeared." Raven said.
"Yeah." Beast Boy said. "Look, I'm sorry I punched you."
"I deserved it." Raven said as she sat up. "I should have told you." Raven walked to the window, feeling saddened and being on the brink of tears. "I feel your death was my fault. If I told you, if I told anyone, than you wouldn't have teamed up with Slade and..." Raven choked back a bit, still trying to control her emotions. "I'm so sorry." Raven then just gave in and started crying.
Beast Boy shot out of his seat and ran straight to his teammate. "Raven, don't blame yourself for my mistake." Beast Boy said.
"But, I didn't tell you." Raven said as she wiped away her tears.
"Raven, you had a good reason. You were scared of losing one of us or one of us to be turned immortal." Beast Boy said. "I know how terrified you were once you found out, really I did. If I knew about this sooner, I wouldn't have wanted you to try and use the spell. I don't want you to turn immortal and more importantly, I don't want you to die Raven, for the years I've known you, you've been one of the greatest people I've ever met." Raven looked at her green teammate, not taking his words. "Raven, I absolutely mean it. You are. Sure, we've had our moments of bickering and criticising, but that's what makes us friends..." Beast Boy took Raven's hand in his while continuing to stare at her. "...And honestly Raven, apart from Cyborg, you're my best friend. And I don't know what I'd do without you to criticise my jokes."
Raven stared at Beast Boy feeling genuinely touched by his words. The empath then pulled Beast Boy into a hug which he returned. "Like you told me Raven, don't blame yourself for stuff you can't control." Raven smiled as she soon pulled out of the hug and held Beast Boy by his shoulders.
The two stood in place smiling at each other. Beast Boy wiped Raven's tears away all while he continued to stare at his friend. And before the two realised it, they started to lean in. Their moment was ruined once Cyborg ran into the room. "We got a situation."
Outside the tower, Terra is throwing rocks at Jinx attacking her since she isn't aware she's no longer a HIVE member.
Jinx managed to blow the oncoming rocks into pebbles once they got closer. "Terra, I'm a Titan!"
"You think I'm going to fall for that, Jinx?!" Terra shouted as she threw more rocks at her, Jinx managed to avoid them by dropping on her back and then getting up again.
"Hey team, I have a bright idea! Oh really Robin, what is it?!" Jinx mumbled. "Jinx, I need you to guard Terra even though she won't know you're a Titan. Great plan Robin!"
Terra soon stood on a floating rock and used it as a levitation platform. "Where are the Titans?!" Terra threw a huge Boulder at the pink haired sorceress, who used her hex powers to blow it up.
"Maybe if you stop throwing rocks at me and actually ask, maybe I'd tell you!" Jinx performed a few cartwheels while avoiding some more rocks. But she didn't anticipate her, being knocked out by a rock coming from below her.
Jinx was about to attack, but Terra hit Jinx across the head with a rock coming towards her at top speed, causing her to get a black eye. "Ow! My eye!"
Terra was about to continue by crushing Jinx with a boulder, but it was stopped by dark magic and Jinx being moved aside by a yellow blur.
"Terra, stop!" Beast Boy shouted.
Terra soon stopped and calmed down once she saw Beast Boy. "Beast Boy?"
"Least she remembers." Beast Boy mumbled.
Terra lowers the rock and stares at Beast Boy, Raven and Cyborg, like she hadn't seen them for a long time. "Guys?"
"What's up rock and roller?" Cyborg asked.
"What's going on?" Terra asked. "Why is Jinx here? And who's the fiery haired guy wearing a yellow jump suit?"
"We'll explain everything." Beast Boy said. "I just gotta inform Robin and Starfire you're awake. She forced him to go on a celebratory date to the park."
"Wait, 'date?' Terra asked.
"Oh boy, we have lots to tell her." Raven said.
Kid Flash ran from the arena before returning with some grey shorts and handing them to Terra. "You might want to put those on."
Terra looked down, saw she was in her hospital gown and then her cheeks turned red in embarrassment. "Oh."
Later.
The Titans are seen in the common room. Beast Boy and Kid Flash are both standing up, possibly reenacting some scenes from their adventures; Terra was seated on the couch, now wearing some grey pants; Raven was reading a book while sitting next to the geomancer; while Cyborg was attending to Jinx's black eye.
"And then, Starfire was forced to get married but that turned out to be one big conspiracy and that caused her to stand up against her sister." Beast Boy said, telling Terra the events of Betrothed. "Then Starfire gave her crown to her nanny who is scary as heck dude, I mean it."
"Tell her about Tokyo." Kid Flash said.
"I'm getting there." Beast Boy said.
"She'll love it." Kid Flash argued.
"But I prefer to tell things in order." Beast Boy argued back.
"Robin and Starfire became a couple and shared their first actual kiss, the end." Raven interjected.
"Aww, Rae!!!" Beast Boy whined.
"Well, Kid Flash wanted it." Raven said.
"After that, me and Jinx joined the team." Kid Flash retorted.
"But before that: Last year, Raven couldn't celebrate her birthday because of this super scary guy named Trigon." Beast Boy interjected.
Kid Flash pushed the green Titan aside. "And after the worst birthday since my 16th birthday where my-"
Beast Boy pushed Kid Flash aside. "We met my original team, the Doom Patrol where we fought against this super computer named the Brain and I froze him in the final battle and said-"
Kid Flash pushed Beast Boy aside. "-The worst ice pun in history. Honestly, I heard better from Mr Freeze."
Terra was staring at the two, like she was invested in the stories the two were telling her. "What else happened?" Terra asked. "I feel there's a lot more stories."
"Tell her the one where Raven got turned into a rabbit." Cyborg suggested.
"Tell her no." Raven interjected.
"Why? Embarrassing?" Terra asked, with a smirk that was her first one of today.
"Terra!" Screamed an energetic Starfire, who flew to the geomancer and forced her into another bone crunching hug.
Terra was stuck in the Tamaranean's grip, struggling for air. "Starfire...Air." Terra gasped in-between breaths.
Starfire let go of Terra and just gave her a very adorable smile. "Oooh, it is good to see you again, friend."
"Wait, I'm still your friend?" Terra asked, surprised.
"Yes, why would you think not?" Starfire asked.
"Because, I betrayed you, went over to...him." Terra replied, shamefully. "How can I still be your friend if I betrayed you."
"Because you redeemed yourself." Robin replied as he entered the room.
"Well...You always said, one shot of nobility isn't enough to redeem yourself." Terra said.
"You're right Terra, but your sacrifice that day was enough." Robin said.
"Hey, I did a million things to redeem myself and she did one thing!" Jinx shouted.
"Don't take it personally." Terra said to the pink haired sorceress.
Silkie then jumped on Terra's lap and started snuggling against her. Terra was at first startled, but she then started stroking the larva. "Hey little guy, you missed me?"
"Wait, you know of Silkie?" Asked the surprised Starfire.
"Well yeah." Terra replied. "Me and Beast Boy hid him in the tower all the time, until you all found him."
"Does anyone want to Terra the story about how we were almost cooked into a pie?" Cyborg asked.
"A pie?!" Terra reacted. "I bet Jinx would've tasted delicious since her hair looks like cotton candy."
"Oh, you are heading for a beating." Jinx said in a fake insulted voice.
As the hours went by, the Titans were catching Terra up with all the stuff that went on while she was encased in stone. They told her how Starfire was betrothed until she wasn't at the end, they told her how they found out about Silkie, the formation of the network of Titans, the bunny Raven incident, the day at Tokyo where Starfire and Robin finally got together, how Jinx and Kid Flash joined the Titans, basically so many adventures.
Later.
Terra is seen sitting on the rooftop of Titan's tower, feet dangling off the edge. She took notice of a small rock next to her and used her rock powers to telepathically throw it in the ocean.
"Enjoying the view?" Asked the voice of Beast Boy.
Terra turned around and saw Beast Boy approaching her. The green Titan took a seat next to the geomancer. "So, how does it feel to be out of your rock prison?" Beast Boy asked.
"It feels, strange." Terra replied. "I mean, I don't remember being under all that rock. I remember there was lava and then there was darkness and then, I woke up in the infirmary and fought Jinx."
"Yeah, Robin kind of regrets putting her on watch." Beast Boy said.
"Why didn't he put that fast one in charge?" Terra asked.
"He decided to visit his uncle at Central City." Beast Boy replied. "Apparently he's quite a runner."
"And Cyborg?"
"I think he went to fix the T-Car."
"Why didn't you or Raven try and watch me?" Terra asked.
Beast Boy's friendly smile soon diminished once Terra asked that question. "Me and her were doing therapy together."
"Therapy?" Terra asked. "Since when was she a licensed therapist?"
"She isn't licensed, but she'd make a good one." Beast Boy explained.
"Why were you having therapy? If you don't mind me asking.
Beast Boy looked away, uncomfortable with what Terra had just asked. "Do you want to know how you were released?"
"Well, nobody's given time to tell me, so yeah." Terra replied.
"Well..." Beast Boy uncomfortably rubbed the back of his neck. "I was the one who freed you."
"You seemed uncomfortable with that." Terra analysed. "Is there a reason why it discomforts you?"
"Me freeing you came at a price...I died Terra." Beast Boy explained.
"What? Is this a joke?" Terra asked, surprised.
"No, I'm not joking Terra. I died, bringing you back." Beast Boy exclaimed.
Terra stared at her green friend, not sure how she was supposed to react to this news. "I mean...Wow...This is just...Unexpected."
"Yeah. I died bringing you back."
"How?"
"It was a spell that had two dependable outcomes." Beast Boy explained. "I could have either been immortal or death, fate chose death."
"Jeez, that's shocking." Terra said.
"I know. When Raven told me I was dead and Cyborg said I was dead for two minutes, I felt uncomfortable and like...I was...A freak."
"Raven was the one who saved you." Terra pointed out.
"I know, yet I still feel saddened by the fact I was dead." Beast Boy explained. "If it weren't for Raven, I would have been dead for good."
"How did you come back alive?"
"Raven did it. Did chest compressions and mouth to mouth." Beast Boy explained.
"Guess in a way you got your first kiss." Terra's little quip made Beast Boy chuckle a bit.
"Never expected it to be Raven." Beast Boy retorted. "How are you finding things outside the statue?"
"Everything feels different." Terra replied. "I mean, all those stories you told me have got me thinking about all the things I missed. The other Titans, the second Wicked Scary and Starfire and Robin getting in a relationship; which I knew was going to happen."
"Still owe you five bucks." Beast Boy said. "Except Slade probably took it when I died."
"Slade?" Terra repeated, terrified.
"Oh yeah. I betrayed the team. Slade manipulated me into believing he was just an hallucination who was just helping out." Beast Boy explained while Terra was having some flashbacks to Slade torturing her with that suit she wore when she betrayed the Titans. "But he was using me to free you just in case he died."
"Wait, Slade told you to free me?" Terra asked. "Why?"
"Out for revenge." Beast Boy replied.
"But Slade's dead. I killed him." Terra mentioned in disbelief.
"You did, but he came back." Beast Boy explained.
"Impossible, nobody can survive a pool of lava."
"He didn't. Raven's father brought him back." Beast Boy mentioned. "It didn't go so well. He teamed up with us to defeat him, we won, but he vanished. Until now."
"Where is he now?" Terra asked.
"He's in the holding cell." Beast Boy said.
"Oh cool. He's been captured and-" Terra's eyes soon went wide. "What was the last part?"
"He's in the holding cell." Beast Boy replied.
Terra's face soon started stare at Beast Boy, panic stricken. "He can't be here."
"He is." Beast Boy replied with a confident smile. "Why does your face say it's a bad idea?"
Before Terra could even give a response, she jumped up and started to run back into the tower. While Beast Boy stared back, confused.
Meanwhile, in Slade's cell.
Slade was meditating, peacefully all while Robin watched him on the CCTV camera. Just then, the faint sound of choppers approaching is heard. The sound made Slade's eye opened. Meanwhile, Terra is running through the corridor intending to reach Robin and warn him about Slade being in the holding cells.
Back in the cell, Slade stood up and started stretching, this act made Robin's eyes squint with suspicion as he watched the act on the screen. "What are you planning?" Robin asked.
Meanwhile, Terra ran past Jinx and Kid Flash, who were about to share a kiss. "Rude." Kid Flash commented.
Cyborg exited the garage, wiping the oil off his hand with a napkin possibly after giving the T-Car an oil change. Terra ran up to him and asked in a panicked voice, "Cyborg, have you seen Robin?!"
"His room, watching Slade." Cyborg replied.
"Thanks." Terra said as she continued to run as fast as she could, pushing Raven and Starfire out of the way as she ran.
Meanwhile, Slade was backing away from the wall of his prison cell while the sound of the choppers approaching the tower grew louder.
Robin soon realised the sound of choppers were approaching and opened the curtains of his bedroom. He saw a huge number of choppers getting closer to the tower. "What the?"
And without warning, one of the choppers fired a missile and it was heading straight for the floor that was Robin's room. Before it could hit the boy wonder, Robin ran out of his room just as the missile managed to hit the window to his room, exploding. Robin managed to wipe away the dirt from his shoulder just as Terra managed to make it to him.
Robin gave Terra a stare that said, 'What just happened.' Terra replied, "Keeping Slade in the holding cells was a bad idea."
Robin stood up and ordered Terra, "Stick with me. It's you he wants."
Just then, another missile went off, this time, coming from the lounge.
Them Robin's communicator started going off and on the screen was Cyborg. "Rob, I think you know the situation."
"What's happening? Why aren't the defence shields working?" Robin asked.
"I checked Rob, they're offline." Cyborg explained.
"What? How?" Robin asked. "You said they aren't hackable."
"They aren't, but somebody destroyed it without my alarm going off." Cyborg explained.
"Slade." Robin hissed.
"What?"
"He's probably planned this out." Robin said as he pushed a button on his T-communicator. "Titans, defend the tower."
"What do you think we're doing?" Kid Flash asked as he dodged a missile.
"I'm going to keep Terra with me." Robin said.
"Is she ok?" Beast Boy asked.
"I'm fine Beast Boy." Terra retorted.
"Don't worry Beast Boy, I'll keep her safe." Robin assured his teammate. "Just defend the tower at all costs."
Robin hangs up on the T-communicator and turns to Terra.
"What now?" Terra asked.
"Stick with me. Slade wants you, I won't let him." Robin said.
"I got this Robin, I'm more powerful than he thinks." Terra said.
"He's studied you, therefore he might know your weakness." Robin said.
"But Robin-"
"That's an order Terra!"
Terra slumped her shoulders and said, "Fine."
"I'm going to check on Slade, follow me." Robin said before he and Terra started to make their way to the holding cells.
Meanwhile.
The choppers were still firing at the tower, using missiles and machine guns attached to the bottom.
Starfire fired a starbolt at one of the propellers, causing it to crash and explode upon impact.
Jinx used her hex powers to make a chopper tear itself apart and the pilot, which was a Slade bot, fall out.
Beast Boy, now a pterodactyl, latched on to the tail of one of the choppers, causing the pilot to try and free himself, but Beast Boy was too strong and tore the tail right off.
Just as the Titans continued to defend the tower from the choppers, an army of Slade bots walked out from underwater and walked onto dry land. Cyborg quickly took notice and blasted them to pieces.
"How did they get past the defences?" Kid Flash asked, as he kicked the head of a Slade bot at a chopper window, causing the pilot to crash into the ocean.
"Slade must've destroyed them while he was with Beast Boy." Slade said.
"How did he get in if you had a defence system?" Raven asked as she used magic to crush some heads of Slade bots.
"He must've gotten in before I installed it." Cyborg theorised as he fired a sonar blast at a few Slade bots, causing them to drop to their knees and explode.
While the Titans were dealing with the army, an army of tanks rolled out of the ocean, the sight making Jinx groan in annoyance. "Oh you have got to be kidding me."
The army of tanks started firing at the tower, which made Starfire angry. "Please, stop firing at the tower." Starfire used her starbolts from her eyes to make the tanks explode.
"If they destroyed the couch, I don't know if I can live with myself." Beast Boy said before he turned into a rhinoceros and rammed into one of the tanks.
Meanwhile.
Robin and Terra make it to the holding cell to see that it looked untouched once they opened the door. No Slade, no hole in the wall, nothing.
"Where is he?" Terra asked.
Robin knew Slade wouldn't have escaped if he wanted Terra, he entered the cell, quickly looked up and saw the merc hanging from the ceiling. The merc jumped down, but Robin quickly performed a backflip avoiding the merc. Robin kicked Slade in the face, but he looked unfazed by the kick and just punched Robin in the stomach.
"Terra, run!" Robin demanded as he blocked Slade's punches. "Stick with the team, they might need your help."
Terra gave her leader a nod, before she ran out of the tower to let Robin handle Slade.
Robin continued to block every punch coming in from Slade. Then Slade managed to kick Robin in the chest, causing him to fly across the tower. But Robin managed to use his feet to stop him from hitting the wall. The boy wonder threw a birdarang at the merc, but the merc caught it and crushed the weapon in his hand.
Robin and Slade ran up to each other, continuing their fist fight. Slade used one foot to jump off a wall to kick Robin in the face. Slade took notice of his two swords hanged on the wall of the souvenir room for display.
Slade pulled them off the wall and said to Robin, "Tell your friends my weapons aren't trophies."
Robin got up and pulled his bo-staff out and aimed it at Slade. "This army's a distraction."
"Well figured out." Slade said.
"You wanted to be captured, you knew Terra would be free, you used Scarecrow as a pawn in your game." Robin snarled angrily.
"It was the only way I could make Beast Boy believe he was seeing me even though I wasn't there." Slade explained. "The only way I'll be able to kill Terra."
"And Beast Boy was then used as your expendable asset. You're a monster Slade." Robin said.
"Monsters are beasts in children's fairy tales, I'm just a man with a common human goal: Revenge." Slade said as he aimed one of his swords towards Robin. "I would politely ask you to let me get Terra, but I know you'd say 'no,' so do your best to protect your friend until the inevitable moment I jam my sword into her chest and then clean the blood off my sword."
Robin and Slade glared at each other in an intense staring contest. Robin squinted his eyes while Slade did the same with his only eye. Robin held a tight grip on his staff, while Slade put a very tight grip on his swords. Slade took a small step with Robin soon following his action. Then, Slade just started running while Robin soon followed, the two then clashed their signature weapons against each other.
Meanwhile.
More armies of tanks and Slade bots emerged from the ocean, intent on destroying the Titans. Cyborg was blasting the bots and tanks, Raven used her magic to make the tanks stop and explode, Jinx used her hex powers to caused a group of choppers to crash into a few tanks, Starfire was tending to an exhausted Kid Flash; who had his back against the tower wall.
"Can't run." Kid Flash panted.
"Hey Star, we'll be needing you twos help." Cyborg shouted.
"I must tend to friend Kid Flash." Starfire said. "He's exhausted and requires the energy bar."
"Does anyone have an energy bar?" Kid Flash asked.
Starfire fired a starbolt at a Slade bot while Raven replied, "No. Because nobody eats in battle!" Raven used her magic to make the choppers blow up.
"Dudes, there's too many of them." Beast Boy said in his T-Rex form. "
Cyborg fired another shot, this time at a tank causing it to explode. "With my defence network down, I doubt we'll be able to hold this off."
Just as all hope seemed lost due to the team being outnumbered, an army of boulders rolled into battle, running over an army of Slade bots and knocking the tanks down. The team looks behind them and see Terra, levitating on a rock and commanding an army of sharp rocks to impale the pilots of the choppers.
The Titans stared at the sight in awe at Terra single handily taking out the army. Beast Boy laughed out loud and shouted, "Ha, you guys are so doomed now!"
Terra approached the amazed Kid Flash and threw him an energy bar with a Flash lightning bolt as the logo. "Thanks Earthbender."
Terra used her rock powers to summon a huge rock to crush one of the tanks, then used them again to control an army of pebbles to fly into the Slade bots heads.
"Terra." Starfire shouted while blowing up Slade bots. "Where is Robin?"
"He's handling Slade." Terra replied as she threw some sharpened rocks at the tanks.
"Does he require assistance?" Starfire asked.
"He looks like he wants to handle Slade on his own." Terra said.
Meanwhile.
Robin and Slade had continued their staff/sword fight into the lounge. Slade span his two swords before trying to hit Robin, who used his staff to deflect the blades. Slade used one of his swords to try and slice Robin's throat, but Robin ducked, making the blade chop a bit of his hair off instead.
Robin kicked Slade in the kneecap then the merc retaliated with a kick to Robin's chest. Robin quickly dusted that off and threw a birdarang at the merc.
Slade caught the weapon and crushed it with his hands. Robin and Slade continued their sword and staff fight, each clash more intense than the last one. Slade tried to slice Robin's head again, but he ducked and the sword sliced the window, causing it to break.
Slade and Robin continued to duel with each other, but then Slade used one of his swords to slice Robin's staff in two.
Robin then used his broken staff as batons and disarmed Slade of one of his swords. "This isn't going to go your way Robin!" Slade shouted.
"Doesn't matter, I won't let you hurt Terra!" Robin exclaimed.
"She won't feel pain." Slade assured the Boy Wonder as he tried to slash Robin again, but the Boy Wonder ducked and before he kicked Slade, the merc pierced his sword through Robin's cape and stuck to the wall; Now Robin was stuck the wall.
Robin quickly tore his cape off before Slade could use his other sword to stab the Boy Wonder. The Boy Wonder punched Slade in the face, causing his mask to crack. Slade growled and used his sword to slash at Robin's chest, only causing his suit to be sliced.
Robin threw his baton at Slade, but the merc caught it and threw it out of the window. Robin performed an air kick, but Slade grabbed his leg and threw the Boy Wonder at the wall.
Meanwhile.
Starfire blasted a few more Slade bots, while Terra crushed the tanks with her rocks. The Slade bots were about to blast the Tamaranean and the geomancer, but Kid Flash ran past them and destroyed them with a single punch.
Raven used her magic to make the choppers collide with each other. While Beast Boy turned into a Sasquatch and crushed a Slade bot's head.
"Boo-Yah!" Cyborg shouted before he used his missiles to blow up an army of tanks and the rest of the Slade bots.
"Is that everyone?" Asked the exhausted Kid Flash.
"Not everyone." Jinx replied as she used her hex blast to make a helicopter crash into a tank that was broken, but still functioned. "Now everyone."
"Not everyone." Said Slade in his usual sinister voice. He exited the towers, holding a heavily beaten Robin by his collar.
"Robin!" Starfire shouted in horror, while the other Titans looked on in horror at their leader being beaten.
They were about to approach him, but Slade put a knife on the Boy Wonder's neck. "Take one more step Titans and I slice your leader's throat!" Slade threatened. "Don't even try running Kid Flash, because I will be able to see you before you can lay a finger on me."
"Let him go Slade!" Raven demanded.
"Why not?" Slade asked. "This mess happened because you didn't tell anyone about the spell and you are now suffering those consequences. I hope you are very happy."
"Don't save me, keep Terra safe!" Robin ordered.
"Yes, keep Terra safe." Slade repeated. "But for how long can you keep her safe? Because I will find you and I will kill anyone who'll try and stop me."
"If you harm Robin than I will crush you like a Glotkath bug." Starfire angrily threatened.
"I won't hurt him as long as you comply to my demands." Slade retorted. "Give me Terra and I let Robin go."
"Kill Terra and I gnaw on your bones." Beast Boy threatened the merc.
"You think that threat will make me shiver?" Slade asked as he tightened his grip on Robin. "And when I'm done with Terra, don't think it will be the end Titans. Because I'm going to come for you, even in your brightest moments."
The Titans stood, unsure of what to do, until Terra took a step forward. "Let him go, Slade."
The Titans stared at Terra in shock. "Terra, what are-"
Terra stared at Beast Boy, with a sympathetic smile. "Everything will be fine."
"Terra, don't do it." Kid Flash requested.
"I said, trust me." Terra assured Kid Flash.
Terra turned to face Slade who lowered his knife and threw the heavily beaten Robin in front of him and the Titans, while the geomancer reluctantly approached her ex-master. A concerned Starfire flew to her heavily beaten boyfriend and wraps his arm around her shoulder.
"Good girl Terra." Slade said while Terra approached him.
Robin gave a loud cough, due to the massive beating Slade had given him. "Terra..."
"Don't stop her Robin." Slade demanded. "She's doing the right thing. What do you think will happen? You think she'll fight back against me? She knows despite all her power, I'll be able to stop her."
Robin gave another heavy cough. "If that's a fact Slade...Then try and fight her under smoke."
Slade's eye went wide as he realised there were piles of smoke pellets planted in his pocket. Before Slade could react, the pellets exploded, trapping Slade in a cloud of smoke.
In the smoke, Slade tried to catch a glimpse of Terra but she was nowhere to be seen. "Come out and face me Terra!" Slade shouted as he looked around to see if he can catch a glimpse of the geomancer. "Come on Terra! Face your past like a big girl." Then, Slade gets hit in the face by a tiny pebble. "A pebble? Do you think that'll stop me?!"
Suddenly, Slade gets slammed by a rock, causing him and the rock to fly off the island and into the ocean.
Terra looked over the spot where Slade possibly met his watery demise and said "He'll be back." Terra turned to face the other Titans and said to Robin, "Nice plan Robin."
"I'm surprised you caught on." Robin said.
"I knew you put those pellets in his pocket for a reason." Terra commented.
"Wait, what would have happened if she didn't notice?" Kid Flash asked out loud. "Did you have a backup?"
Robin sighed. "Kid Flash don't question things, my abdomen really hurts."
"Well, lets get you checked out." Cyborg said. "While I do that, you think you'll be up for an all you can eat Italian feast tonight?"
"Italian!" Kid Flash exclaimed. "Sure!"
"Do you think Robin will be okay?" Starfire asked Cyborg as she handed her boyfriend to the bionic teen.
"It's Robin, he's survived worse." Cyborg assured the Tamaranean.
The Titans then entered the tower, planning to celebrate another victory against Slade.
Later.
Beast Boy is seen sitting on the edge of the tower, throwing some rocks into the ocean as a method of relaxation, due to the satisfying sound of the rocks splashing as they hit the water.
"Got room for one more?"
Beast Boy turned around to see Terra, wearing the original outfit she wore when she first met the Titans. "Yeah sure." Beast Boy replied.
Terra sat next to her green teammate and used her telepathy to throw a rock into the ocean.
"So, how did you know us keeping Slade in a cell was a bad idea?" Beast Boy asked.
"When I was with Slade he told me of a plan he had. Purposely capture himself then once he's in the cell, Slade bots activate and attack the tower." Terra replied.
"Wow, are we really predictable?" Beast Boy asked.
"Just good luck for him, I guess." Terra theorised.
"Hmm, probably." Beast Boy and Terra then started to stare at each other.
"Hey." Beast Boy said.
"Hi." Terra replied, while smiling.
"So, there's something we were about to do on the day you...uh...you know." Beast Boy said while rubbing the back of his neck.
Terra's smile soon faded and said "Oh. The kiss."
"Yeah." Beast Boy confirmed. "I was wondering if you, wanted to try it, again." Beast Boy closed his eyes and started to pucker his lips towards the geomancer. But instead of doing the same, Terra just pressed a finger on her lips, looking sad as she did so.
"Beast Boy, about the kiss..." Terra looked very sad as she took a deep breath. "I don't think you deserve it. I don't think..." Terra tried to hold back a tear as she stared at the ocean. "...you deserve me."
Beast Boy stared at Terra, saddened by what she said. "Terra, why? I thought we should...try...you know?"
"I know Beast Boy, I would've loved to, but I'm sorry. I can't have you." Terra said, sadly.
"Terra, what's the reason?"
"When I feel close to you, it just brings back painful memories of the night in retraced you." Terra said. "And I thought, maybe it's my conscious' way of telling me that I can't be with you because I don't deserve you."
"Terra-"
"Don't tell me otherwise." Terra interjected. "Deep down, you know I'm right."
Beast Boy sighed. "Terra, I understand what you're saying, maybe you're right, maybe I don't deserve you."
"I'm sorry, for breaking your heart, again." Terra said. "Do you think, we can just be friends?"
Beast Boy gave Terra smile and replied, "Sure, sounds good."
Terra wiped away her tears and stood up. "I'm going to check up on Robin, see how he's doing."
"Yeah, go on." Beast Boy said.
"You sure you're ok?" Terra asked.
"Yeah, I am." Beast Boy replied, even though he was lying.
"Ok, just...talk to me, okay?"
"Okay."
Terra walked through the hatch, still feeling some guilt over breaking Beast Boy's heart again. Once Terra was gone, Beast Boy released all of his emotions and started crying his eyes out.
Later.
Beast Boy is seen walking down the corridor, still feeling sad about what had happened between him and Terra moments ago. He stopped and took a quick glance at her bedroom door before continuing to walk.
"I'm assuming it didn't go well?"
Beast Boy stopped and turned to trace the voice, which belonged to Raven, who was standing behind him showing a sympathetic look.
"How did you know?" Beast Boy asked.
Raven approached Beast Boy and replied, "I'm sorry."
Beast Boy didn't want to cry in front of Raven, because he thinks it made him feel like a coward, but Raven's sympathetic face was telling him to let it out. Beast Boy then gave in to his emotions and the tears started to fall down his face. Raven took notice and quickly pulled him into a hug, which the green Titan gladly returned.
Cyborg, Kid Flash, Starfire and Jinx watched on, all showing sympathetic faces understanding what Beast Boy was probably going through right now. They walked off to do their own thing, allowing Raven to comfort her friend.
Meanwhile.
Robin was in his room, typing on his computer. Terra entered his room and then asked, "How's your arm?"
"Still sore, but it'll heal." Robin replied as he turned to face the geomancer. The Boy Wonder took notice of her face since it looked like she had been crying heavily. "You okay?"
"I had to give someone a talk." Terra replied, glumly.
"I'll not ask anything about it." Robin said.
"Thanks. Can I ask, what are you doing?"
"Slade said his son is a member of the Teen Titans and I'm trying to find out which one." Robin replied. "I've asked all the Titans to lend me a blood sample, so it won't raise any suspicion."
"Got any idea?" Terra asked.
"On who it is? No." Robin replied. "I've never got a good look at Slade's face, so I doubt I'll be able to match anybody's face with Slade's."
"I guess not." Terra retorted. She started staring at the screen and then started squinting her eyes at one of the pictures. She started to slowly approach the screen while still staring at it. Robin took notice of what Terra was doing and started to watch her. Terra slowly walked to a picture of a blonde haired boy with blond locks and lime green eyes, wearing a long-sleeved white shirt underneath a purple tunic with a gold belt, black pants and purple boots.
Terra pointed to the screen, hinting she knew that the boy was Slade's son. Robin looked back and forth at the screen and Terra, trying to put the pieces together. "Are you sure?" Terra gave a nod, confirming his suspicion. Robin's eyes went wide and said, "I don't know if I should believe it." Robin stared at the picture of Jericho and said, "Jericho, why?"
