Quill woke up with a jolt smelling vampires. He groaned out in pain and opened his eyes adjusting to the bright light.
"Hey easy Quill! You are safe!" Jacob's voice called out trying to ease him back down on the bed he was laying on. Jacob's figure slowly came clearer and Quill shook his head with his ears ringing.
"Where…" Quill struggled to speak or see where he really was.
"You're okay. We got you back at Cullens. They smelled the blood." Jacob explained. All of a sudden everything made sense to Quill. He smelled Cullen scent and was in their house. He was hooked up to monitors and IVs.
"What the fuck happened?" He groaned laying back down in pain.
"We were hoping you would remember…" He heard Leah's voice from across the room. Images began to swirl into Quill's mind. Fuck he remembered laughing at Embry in the front seat and then slamming into a dark figure. Except the figure didn't budge and the car shattered on impact.
"Where is Claire?" He hollered out trying to take the IVs out of his arm. His heart was beating so quickly he knew he was going to have a panic attack. He could remember smelling vampire before passing out. That left Claire, Emily and Embry alone in the car as it tumbled down the hill.
"Quill. We don't know." Jacob said pushing him down as he felt other hands hold down his fighting body. His imprint, best friend and Emily were out there or dead and he felt sick and useless.
"Jake you will have to alpha him!" Seth yelled out. Quill growled and bared his teeth to Seth.
"What the fuck is going on!?" Quill grunted thrashing his body against the many people holding him down. He suddenly felt dizzy and too weak to fight back. Carlisle came back in a rush an reconnected him to a bag of blood.
"Quill we will fill you in and you have to do the same. But any of us acting erractically will not help Embry, Emily or Claire!" Jacob ordered with full alpha. Sam and Leah growled to that. That's when it hit Quill… Embry and Emily were also in danger. Sam's own imprint was at stake and Leah felt something for Embry.
"We were driving…. Then out of nowhere a figure was in front of the car. The car bent to the person which I smelled vampire then. Then something else hit the side of the car and it rolled. I felt pain and smelled blood. The last thing I heard was Claire screaming…." Quill choked out. He began to shake with anger thinking of it hurting any of them especially Claire.
"We found you fifteen miles from La Push." Sam added.
"You were nearly dead from the blood loss. You pulled through and have been out almost four days. The vampires' trail went cold for all of us. Even Cullens can't find it. We think they got in a car and it got lost from there. " Jake informed.
"Is Embry alive?" Quill stuttered feeling tears swell up in his eyes.
"It would appear there were two vampires based on the scents. And Embry's scent was fresh so we think he is alive with Claire and Emily." Sam answered. Quill was relieved beyond words… as long as Embry was alive then the girls had a chance.
"That makes no sense though… the vampires had it easier with both of us dead… why keep us both alive? Why take Embry?" Quill tried to calculate.
"The emotions I read at the area the attacked happened was weird… it almost seemed like they were excited for what they planned next." Jasper said walking in.
"I can't see anything because they have one of you." Alice added. Fuck they needed to go get out there and start looking.
"I'm going to fucking tear this vamp apart." Leah growled and wiped over her tears stubbornly. Suddenly everyone felt sick… these vampires were playing games with their imprints and their pack mate.
"Carlisle… I need to get up so we can look." Quill growled at him. He wasn't going to sit by and let his friend get tortured.
"We will need all pack member imprints and family here. It's the safest place for them until we find this clan." Edward explained.
"How do we do this?" Seth asked.
"Seth go with Leah and get your family. Milo needs to be here too. I'll go with Collin and Brady to get their parents and my old man. Bella get Charlie and meet me to get my dad. Jared and Paul get Rachel and Kimmy. Anyone I am forgetting?" Jake ordered.
"No my mom isn't involved and neither is Embry's. We should be okay." Paul responded.
"When you all get back I am going with you to search." Quill snapped. It wasn't a request.
"I am not going without you. No worries." Leah remarked. Her voice was unrecognizable as she left with Seth. She was determined to get both of her cousins back and get Embry back. She wasn't going to play games with these pale faces. She was furious, worried, sick and she would get her revenge.
"Wait…" Alice nearly shouted as she had a vision. Everyone froze.
"Quill get up now!" She demanded unhooking him.
"What's wrong!" Everyone started shouting.
"Everyone do as Jake said but Leah and Quill you have to go into the forest now alone…" She instructed helping Quill lean against Leah.
"Why what's wrong?" Leah asked stunned taking Quill trying to bare his weight.
"I saw Claire… she had escaped… I can see her because she isn't with Embry. But the vision only shows you too. Emmett and Jasper will kill the vampire behind her. But you guys are bait." Alice answered shoving them out the door.
"No! She will not be fucking bait! No one will!" Sam cursed holding Leah's arm.
"Sam! Alice saw the vampire dead!" Seth argued. He hated that his sister was bait but it was their only way.
"The future isn't always set!" Paul argued backing Sam up.
"We can't keep risking out own!" Jared backed them up as well. The room was full of tension, stress and desperation.
"Sam please…" Leah begged with tears in her eyes.
"I can't lose anyone else…" Sam choked out begging her to stay.
"We get Claire!" Quill spat at him his body shaking.
"Thirty seconds!" Edward warned. Leah hugged Sam with all here might but then pulled away.
"We can get them back! I know we can! Just trust me!" Leah pleaded. Everyone's heart beats slowed waiting for Sam to release her. And he did abruptly. It took all he had to watch her and Quill stumble out of the Cullen house and rush into the forest.
