"Hello and welcome to Day 16 of the Tokyo Olympic Games! Today is the last of our tournaments and gymnastic events. Now...to start out with today's events, we'll be kicking things off with Tennis Singles!" Magenta said. "And our first match is David vs Akame!"
"So, we're first up, huh?" David asked.
"Seems like it." Akame said.
"I hope you're ready, then. My last big singles match was against a demonic racket. I hope I don't get too rusty." David said.
"How funny." Akame said.
"Akame has first serve!" Magenta said as Akame served to David.
David returns with a slice shot.
"Ha!" Akame said sending it back with a strong return.
David goes for a flat shot.
Akame went at it only to miss.
"15 love!" Magenta said.
David wastes no time with a topspin serve.
Akame went and returned with a quick sidespin.
David goes for a flat shot.
Akame then went for a short lob before David sent it right past her.
"30 love!" Magenta said.
"Whew… Looks like I still got it. Singles are a little different from Doubles, that's for sure." David said.
"Yes...so true." Akame said, serving it to him with a strong spin.
David returned with a slice.
Akame sent it back with a flat strike.
David decided to go for a lob.
Akame then went for a return only to miss.
"40 love!" Magenta said.
David served up a flat shot.
"Ha!" Akame called out, sending it flying with a straight shot only for David to take his chance and return it back past her.
"And...that is game!" Magenta said. "Winner is the Brave Adventurers."
"Seems I wasn't as rusty as I thought I was. I was just overthinking it, I guess." David said.
"Seems you were." Akame said.
"Okay...next match is...Connie vs Bulbasaur!" Magenta called out.
"So here we are on the playing field." Bulbasaur said.
"Yep, looks like it." Connie agreed. "I'm ready when you are."
"Then let's begin!" Bulbasaur said as he served it up to her.
Connie responded with a straight shot on the ball.
"Not bad, but how about…" Bulbasaur said as it flew right past him. "Hmm...girls got chops."
"15 love!" Magenta said.
"Guess it's my turn to serve." Connie said as she did so. "Here it comes, Bulbasaur!"
"I'm ready!" Bulbasaur said, returning it.
Connie managed to hit the ball in a drop shot, sending the Pokémon running forward to catch it. When he once again made contact with the ball, Connie shifted her stance to perform a lob, sending the ball deep into Bulbasaur's side.
"Gah!" Bulbasaur said, failing to get it.
"30 love!" Magenta said.
"So the girl's noticed my blind side." Bulbasaur said as he served it up with a top spin.
Connie saw the spin, watching where the ball's trajectory would take it. Seeing it, she raced over to the location and attempted a hit. However, the spin affected the ball's return trajectory, allowing Bulbasaur to get in a quick overhead smash and sending the ball flying down onto Connie's side.
"30-15!" Magenta said.
"Now he's starting to adapt." Connie mused as she served the ball. "Guess I'll have to mix things up a little."
"Ha!" Bulbasaur called out hitting it with a side spin.
Connie responded in kind, applying some spin of her own on her next hit. The combination of the two spins caused the ball's path to be truly chaotic, giving the Seed Pokémon a difficult time observing it.
"Gah!" Bulbasaur said, missing it.
"40-15! Match point!" Magenta said as Bulbasaur served it.
"(Final point, Connie. Make it count.)" Connie thought as she hit the serve with a passing shot.
"Ha!" Bulbasaur said sending it back before Connie jumped up and sent it back as it landed past him.
"Game! Winner is Team Chronicle!" Magenta said.
"Well done." Bulbasaur said.
"Thanks, Bulbasaur! I enjoyed competing against you." Connie smiled.
"Glad you enjoyed it." he said as he shook his vine with her hand.
"Now it's time for the 3rd match! Royal Knights vs Unmei Force!" Magenta said.
"Here we are again, Richard." Leopardmon said.
"This time, no partners." Richard remarked, before he then readied his racket. "Let's see how it'll change with that. Best player wins."
"Of course. I expect you to face me with all you have." Leopardmon said.
Richard responded, by hefting the ball up, before making his first serve, sending the ball across the court.
Leopardmon responds in kind with a slice shot, which Richard deflects to the other side of the court with a low shot. However, Leopardmon could barely reach it with a drop shot. Richard scurried across the field, trying to get the ball, and managed to lob it over the net. Leopardmon took this opportunity to perform a smash shot, which sailed by Richard, before he could move back to reach for it.
"15-Love." Magenta said.
Leopardmon served next with a flat shot, which Richard lifted over the net, as the shot bounced onto the front of Leopardmon's side. He responded in kind with a topspin shot, as Richard caught it, and sliced it to the opposing side of the court, hoping to bounce at the middle. Leopardmon did a flat shot, as Richard sliced it back again, as a rally of flat-shots and slices ensued between them. After a while, Leopardmon barely managed to slip up, earning Richard a point.
"15-all" Magenta announced.
Richard took a moment to take a deep breath, before then going for a short serve to try and put Leopardmon off.
Leopardmon was undeterred however, and managed a flat shot, as Richard went to scoop it up and over the net, before it was returned far stronger by Leopardmon, causing him to stagger for a moment. Leopardmon took the opportunity to land a topspin shot, which Richard missed by an inch with his swing, as the ball bounced onto the ground, scoring Leopardmon a point.
"30-15." Magenta announced.
"Hmm… Very impressive." Leopardmon said as he served up a slice shot, as Richard slinged it back with a powerful fore-hand. Leopardmon was pushed back a bit, but managed a topspin, as Richard slammed another shot through, trying to overpower Leopardmon with powerful shots. Leopardmon decides to mix things up a bit with a drop shot, as Richard couldn't make a powerful shot from it, and went for a top-spin towards the edge of the court. Leopardmon took this chance to perform a slice shot, as Richard returned to his fore-hand, although doing so left him open again. Leopardmon decides to nail a topspin shot, which got past Richard.
"40-15, Game Point!" Magenta said.
Richard clicked his tongue, before he then prepared to receive the next serve from Leopardmon.
Leopardmon decided that he would serve a topspin shot. Richard was able to return it, which led to Leopardmon making a flat shot, as Richard tried his best to return it back with strong force, in order to push back Leopardmon. Leopardmon manages to return it with a slice shot. The two exchanged in a back and forth rally with a variety of shots and returns. The rally between the two kept going until the final shot was landed.
"Game, Leopardmon!" Magenta announced.
"Whew… I nearly worked up a sweat there." Leopardmon said. "You certainly aren't an easy opponent."
"Yeah, same here…" Richard answered back. "But it's no surprise, considering who I was up against."
"Okay...now we got Match 4 coming at us! Fairy Tail's Cana Alberona vs Reformed Society's Chalcedony." Magenta said.
"Okay...let's end this quickly so I can get a drink." Cana said.
"As you wish." Chalcedony said.
The two of them played fiercely for a bit before the victor was decided.
"Winner is Reformed Society!" Magenta said.
"I should feel proud but...this didn't feel like a real victory. Hopefully battle with Sir Leopardmon will remove this sour taste from my mouth." Chalcedony said.
"Now we're heating things up with Match 5! Team Ginova's Hope vs Indivisible's Ginseng!" Magenta said.
"You were pretty good in table tennis, Ginseng, so I'd have to imagine you've got some skills with this, too." Hope said. "This'll be a fun match."
"Yeah, so let's have a good game, Hope!" Ginseng said.
Hope and Ginseng played a good game, but due to his inexperience with tennis, Hope wasn't able to keep up with Ginseng's expert skills, however still managing to make it interesting with the botanist.
"Game set, Ginseng!" Magenta called.
"Phew… I'm not exactly a pro at tennis, but I managed to keep up with you for a long time, Ginseng. Good luck in the next round." Hope said.
"Thanks, I've had a lot of fun." Ginseng said.
"No problem." Hope said as they shook hands.
"Now for the next match! Dimensional Heroes vs Spirit Force!" Magenta said.
"All right. I'm gonna give it all I got!" Asta said.
"Show me what you've got." Spade said. "At least it isn't Table Tennis."
It didn't take long before Spade showed off his skills against Asta.
"Winner...Spirit Force!" Magenta said.
"Man, you're not having very good luck against me." Spade said.
"No...no I am not." Asta said.
"Now...next match! Straw Hat's vs Team Valkyrie!" Magenta said.
Rinea steps forward, racket in hand.
"I hope you're ready to go for it." Nami said.
"Yes, I am ready." Rinea said.
"Well...here it comes!" Nami said, serving the ball to her.
Rinea returned the shot with a slice.
Nami sent it back with a backhanded shot.
Rinea decided to go for a flat shot.
Nami went with a strike shot as it flew at her only for Rinea to hit it back as Nami missed.
"15-love!" Magenta said.
Rinea decided to serve with a slice spin.
Nami shot it back with a topspin.
Rinea hits it back with a slice.
Nami hits it with a sidespin.
Rinea decided to mix things up a little bit and go for a lob.
Nami ran to get it but missed by a small margin.
"30 love!" Magenta said as Nami then served with a sidespin.
Rinea returned the shot with a heaping of topspin.
Nami sent it back with a backhand spin shot.
Rinea went for a flat shot.
Nami went for a strike shot only for it to fall short and hit the net.
"40-love! Match point!" Magenta said.
Rinea went for a slice serve.
Nami went back with a side spin.
Rinea decided to go for a flat shot down the middle.
Nami went for a dive at it only to miss by a small margin.
"Game! Winner is Rinea of Team Valkyrie!" Magenta said.
"Good game." Nami said.
"Yes, same to you. I never thought I could be pushed this hard." Rinea said. "Then again, I did get the...as you say, short end of the stick in Doubles."
"Yeah...you kinda did. Still...good game." Nami said.
"Now we move on to match 8! Benimaru vs Siege." Magenta said as the two started playing against one another.
"Wow...they're doing really well." Sunset said. "Hmm...wait...where's Theo?"
"He ran off after Glacius and Esmeralda last night but the weird part is he never came back." Ivy said.
"Hmm… This is very strange. There must be something going on here." David said. "Once the event is over, I'm gonna check things out."
"David, I know you're worried, but we know how much you've been wanting to win this whole thing, at least overall. Why don't you let us check things out instead?" Emi asked.
"Don't worry about this. We have Souei and his subordinates scouring the city for him. Thing is he was supposed to run in the marathon. But luckily we have an alternate lined up if they don't find him." Cobalt said.
"Yeah. It's me." Rimuru said.
"You? Uh, no offense, but…" David started. "Oh, right. I keep forgetting who I'm talking to."
"Yeah. The old me may have been average but that doesn't apply to the me of now." Rimuru said.
"But still, all we can do is hope that Theo is okay." David said.
"He's not going to die. I know it." Cobalt said. "Whenever that kid makes a promise...he sticks to it."
After a fierce match between one another, Benimaru soon emerged the winner after the two kept it close to a tie.
"Couldn't tell who would win there for a moment." Benimaru said.
"Me either. We were evenly matched from start to finish. Kind of exciting, actually." Siege said.
"Glad I made you feel that way." Benimaru said.
"And now with those matches done...let's get to the quarterfinals! First...we have David vs Connie!" Magenta said.
"Heh. This is gonna be good." David said.
"You said it, David." Connie agreed. "Let's get started!"
"(I'm worried about Theo and Esmeralda, but… Right now, I've got to focus!)" David thought as he grabbed his racket.
"The first serve, coming up!" Connie said as she hit the ball with a forehand stroke.
David decided to hit it back with a slice shot, forcing Connie to reach out low, just barely hitting the ball.
David countered with a flat shot, giving the ball enough speed to bypass Connie and land on her side.
"15-love." Magenta said.
David went for a topspin serve, a hit that Connie returned as a drop shot.
"So, you're gonna be like that, huh?" David asked as he dashed for it, managing a lob.
Connie ran while watching the ball fly. "Well, I don't plan on just giving you a win." she answered as she hit the ball with an overhead shot. "To be honest, I've been hoping this matchup would happen. Going up against the Ultimate Tennis Star is something I've been dying to do since I learned that about you."
Something about those words triggered something inside David, and he hit the overhead shot with a smash that landed in the middle of Connie's side.
"Whoa...uh….you okay?" Connie asked.
"Sorry. It's just that that would've been my title if my application to Hope's Peak Academy went through. But if it did...I probably would've been dead by now." David said.
"Oh no…" Connie winced, realizing the implication. "Sorry, I didn't mean to bring up bad memories."
"I'm used to stalkers, but… It's not really something I like talking about now." David said.
"I understand." Connie said. "You know what? No more mentioning of the past, okay? It's all over now, and you've moved on from what happened. Let's live in the present and look towards the future."
"Believe me, that's what I've been trying to do. But no matter how far I go, the past still haunts me. I've made too many enemies to just forget about it." David said. "But you're right. I can't focus on that kind of stuff right now."
"Right, there we go." Connie said as she served up a flat serve. "Let's keep going, shall we?"
"Right-o." David said with a wink before returning it with a slice.
Connie responded in kind by applying some spin to the ball.
David went for a shot with a slightly strong topspin, sending the ball carenning to the left side of Connie's court, forcing her to run and hit it with a normal forehand stroke.
David took the chance to hit a slice shot, which landed near the front of Connie's side before she could arrive at its destination.
"40-love, Match Point!" Magenta said.
David took a deep breath before serving a flat shot. Seeing it coming, Connie hit back with her own slice before waiting for David's next hit.
David decided to go for a top spin shot that landed just out of Connie's reach, ending the round.
"Game, David!" Magenta said.
"Whew… That was pretty intense. Sorry I went rough for a moment there." David said.
"It's fine, I kinda brought it on myself." Connie said. "Good game, David. Good luck in the semifinals!"
"Thanks. You were pretty neat, too." David said.
"Now it's time for the next match! Leopardmon vs Chalcedony!" Magenta said.
"It seems you are my opponent, Chalcedony." Leopardmon said.
"Seems so." Chalcedony said.
"I heard that you've been looking forward to this match. Is that true?" Leopardmon asked.
"Honestly...I have." Chalcedony said, gripping his racket tight.
"In that case, I better not disappoint, then." Leopardmon said with a racket of his own.
"Let's go then!" Chalcedony said as he served the ball.
The two of them engaged in a fierce ongoing match until they were all tied up.
"I'll admit...you've very well skilled, sir." Chalcedony said. "But I'll claim victory with this last shot."
"With a claim like that, you better make it a good one, then." Leopardmon said.
"I will!" Chalcedony said, serving it.
Leopardmon returns the shot with a slice.
Chalcedony returned with a topspin.
Leopardmon decides to go for a flat shot.
Chalcedony responds in kind using all the power he had to send it back at Leopardmon.
This pushed Leopardmon back as he attempted to make a swing.
"You're powerful, but...not strong enough!" Leopardmon said before sending it back as it landed on Chalcedony's side of the court.
"Match over! Winner is Leopardmon!" Magenta said.
"I see. Seems I still have a lot to learn." Chalcedony said.
"Do not despair on this. Your skills were rather good. I can see that observing him in all of those matches taught you well." Leopardmon said.
"Thank you, Sir Leopardmon." Chalcedony said.
"Okay...up next...we have Spade vs Ginseng!" Magenta called out.
"Wow, didn't think we would end up in a match against each other." Spade said.
"Yeah...should be fun." Ginseng said.
The two of them played their best for a bit before it soon ended with Spade emerging as the victor.
"Looks like I lost." Ginseng said.
"Hey you did your best from what I saw. And you looked like you were having fun too." Spade said.
"Yeah, you're right. As long as I have fun, I don't care whether I win or lose." Ginseng said. "Thank you for the match."
"Same to you." Spade said.
"Now...our final quarterfinal match! Rinea vs Benimaru!" Magenta said.
Rinea steps onto the court with a racket in hand.
"Good...seems you've brought some spirit with you, despite being a spirit." Benimaru said. "But whose fire burns brighter? Yours, or mine?"
"Guess we're about to find out." Rinea said.
"We certainly will." Benimaru said, serving the ball with a powerful sidespin.
Rinea took the opportunity to hit with a slice.
Benimaru returned with a backhanded strike as it went past Rinea.
"15-love!" Magenta said.
"Impressive." Rinea said as she served a flat shot.
"Thank you." Benimaru said, sending it back.
"Seems I may have a hard time with this guy." Rinea said, serving it back.
The two of them engaged in a fierce battle on the court until only one was left standing.
"You put up a fierce battle. But...you should learn to hone your skills more." Benimaru said.
"Winner is Benimaru!" Magenta said.
"Ah… Guess that's it for me. At least I still have Rhythmic Gymnastics, if anything." Rinea said.
"And now...we're ready to go to the semifinals! First match! David vs Leopardmon!" Magenta said.
"Well, here we are again, Leops." David said. "You've been looking forward to this one, I would imagine."
"More than you can imagine." Leopardmon said. "Do not hold back."
"I don't intend to. I may have gotten the gold in Doubles, but let's see if you can take the Singles title from me." David said.
"I just might." Leopardmon said, serving it towards him.
David returns it with topspin.
Leopardmon replies back with a sidespin.
David was pushed back as he hit a flat shot.
Leopardmon caught it and returned it with a slice shot.
David tried to trip him up with a lob shot.
"A lob...for real?" Leopardmon asked before going for a topspin at David who then sent it flying past him.
"15 love!" Magenta said.
"You were saying?" David smirked.
"Hehehe...let's see how long you can hold that." Leopardmon said.
The two of them battled it out for a bit before one final play would serve as their tie breaker.
"Take this!" Leopardmon said, serving at him.
David returns it with a slice shot.
Leopardmon goes in with a topspin.
David returns with a flat shot.
Leopardmon retaliated with a Drop shot.
"You really know how to give me the run around, you know that?" David asked as he dashed for it.
"What can I say? I want to see you at your best." Leopardmon said.
David manages to reach it, only managing a lob to get it over the net.
"My chance is here!" Leopardmon said sending it back with a topspin.
"Oh, snap!" David said as he rushed to return it. He was able to barely reach it and apply a slice spin.
"This score is mine!" Leopardmon said, going for a smash shot.
David was pushed back, but was able to return it with a topspin.
"Ha…" Leopardmon said going for it as it rolled right past by a small margin.
"Winner...David Ishihara!" Magenta said.
"Well done." Leopardmon said.
"Whew… You really got me going on my feet there. I'd hate to be any enemy that underestimates you in battle." David said.
"That's great praise coming from you." Leopardmon said. "I'm very honored to be a part of your team with the other Royal Knights."
"It's not just me, you know. Jexi and Hope were really glad to have you guys back." David said.
"Yes. As am I glad to see them once more." Leopardmon said.
"Hmm...so he'll be going to the exhibition match. And he's who I really want to compare my skills to." Benimaru said. "Spade, right? How would you feel about taking the win here?"
"You wish to test your skill against the Knight who believes Justice equals Power?" Spade asked.
"Titles don't mean a thing to me. If I am to be of any use to Lord Rimuru and Mythos Hearts as a whole, I must see how I compare to him in ability." Benimaru said.
"You are more than just a tool, Benimaru, you are their comrade." Spade said.
"Indeed...I forfeit." Benimaru announced before walking to the court Leopardmon was at.
"Are you sure that was a wise decision? I would've thought you'd have a better assessment against Ishihara." Leopardmon said.
"I already know his prowess but he is not the one that interests me." Benimaru said. "Don't tell me you feel inferior to him."
"Of course not. What makes you believe so?" Leopardmon asked.
"Given how quick you were to pass me off like that. It almost seems like you're scared of playing against me." Benimaru said.
"Me? No, I'm not. He is simply the better player compared to me. A simple fact. As you said before, titles don't matter here." Leopardmon said as he grabbed his racket. "Only skill."
"Which is the only reason I wanted to face you...I want to know which of us is the more skilled one." Benimaru said.
"Then come, prepare yourself for a match unlike any other." Leopardmon said.
"Benimaru is certainly an interesting one." Spade said.
"He certainly is. And powerful at that." Cobalt said as they watched the two strategists face off against one another. "Course I would expect that from a Kijin."
Both Benimaru and Leopardmon fought fiercely in the court until one was left standing.
"We have a winner! Leopardmon!" Magenta said.
"Well done...seems I can still improve." Benimaru said.
"Although, your skills do show some promise. If properly honed, you are sure to be a most valuable asset to their efforts." Leopardmon said.
"I shall take those words to heart." Benimaru said.
"Wow….now that was intense...but...we still have a final to put on! David vs Spade!" Magenta said.
"So it's down to the two of us. I must say, this is an interesting matchup." Spade said.
"You've got that right. Who would've thought that I'd be facing you?" David asked.
"This must be our first time." Spade smiled. "Shall we give them a hell of a show?"
"You just took the words right out of my mouth." David said.
"Let's do this." Spade said.
(Cue- A Glimmer atop 104- KH3 Re:Mind)
David prepares the first serve with a topspin.
"Here!" Spade called, executing a forehand.
David decides to go for a flat shot.
"Gotcha!" Spade said, returning a flat shot of his own.
David spices things up with a slice shot.
"Now we're talking." Spade smiled, countering with a topspin. "I expected nothing less from the Tennis Champ."
David decides to try to trip him up with a drop shot.
"Uh oh." Spade said, trying to counter with a topspin, only to miss.
"15-love!" Magenta announced.
"You're not so bad yourself, using tactics like that." David said.
"Well you could say our adventure in the Mushroom Kingdom taught me a few things." Spade said. "I just needed the practice, though my skills are nothing compared to yours."
"You'll get there one day. And who knows? Leopardmon, Cheetah, you… One day, one of you guys might be able to knock me off my tennis throne." David said.
"Only time will tell." Spade said.
The match continued on between the two of them, both being close to each other, until a winner was decided.
"Game, Set and Match...winner is….David Ishihara! What a blistering match! I could barely contain my excitement!" Magenta said.
"Phew… That was very intense. I really had to work for that one." David said.
"You are as skilled as always. Looks like you'll be holding onto your throne a little longer." Spade smiled.
"Heh. Seems that way." David said.
The two shared a bro handshake as they soon returned to the stands.
"That was amazing, my lord. I expected nothing less from you." Kabuki said.
"Thanks, Kabuki. I didn't expect to get gold in both singles AND doubles." David said. "But… Hmm… I can't help but feel worried about Theo, Es and Glacius. I know Cobalt said that Souei can handle it, but they don't know the city like I do. I'm gonna go look for them."
"Are you sure, my lord?" Kabuki asked.
"We can help you look for them." Ace said.
"Thanks for the offer, but I've already got a heist team set up for this. Cheetah will handle the tracking from where they last were, while Sachiko and Alphamon will be on getaway duty in case things get dicey. If all goes well, we should be able to resolve this by nightfall." David said.
"Well, okay. We'll just keep playing through. We'll meet back up with you at the hotel after the day's done." Jexi said.
"Be sure to keep us posted." Ace said.
"No worries. We will." Sachiko said.
As they went off, the rest of the competitors headed off to the arena for the Rhythmic Ribbon event.
"And here we are at the last Gymnastics event of the games! The Rhythmic Ribbon. And for this event, we will be using the same special performance space we used for Floor. We will also be keeping scores secret until everyone has gone. Now… first up is Raptor who will be performing World of Light." Magenta said.
Raptor stepped onto the space as she started to dance with the ribbon as images from the battles in the World of Light against the other smashers and the enemies and spirits before things reached their climax against Galeem and Dharkon she did a few spins and twirls with the ribbon as it soon ended with the two gods being slain and the worlds restored to their normal appearances as she stopped and took a bow.
"Nicely done. Next...we have Nami performing...Hell's Tea Party." Magenta said as Nami took the stage.
She started off spinning the ribbon as the tea party began to play out for everyone as something light and jovial until the cake burst open with the group jumping out of it. Things then started to get more hectic as the pirates were in a panic as they went about causing as much chaos as possible all the way up to the final escape from Big Mom who was in pursuit of them. Things then ended with something light as the group were soon enjoying a meal together with everyone back together one again.
"Wow...that was pretty exciting. Next we have Sectonia performing Fade and Rebirth." Magenta said.
(Cue- Reach out to the Truth- Persona 4 Dancing All Night)
Sectonia slowly rose her ribbon up during the opening segment as she slowly got up before she opened her eyes and danced with it to the beat before an image came up, initially being a giant beanstalk sprouting in Dream Land with the Dimensional Heroes and Shining Hope Squadron pursuing Taranza alongside Kirby. The image ended with her defeat in the hands of Hope and Lunala before a single petal descended, leading to when she rescued David from a swarm of Monokumas, the initial forming of the Brave Adventurers, and the group's initial adventure through Rieze Maxia and Elympios, culminating in Origin's Trial where Ludger sacrificing himself and becoming a divergence catalyst to save Elle. The next image shows her time with the Armatus from the Tapu Guardians, leading to journeys through Glenwood and its past, before shifting to the time she fought Dark Taranza in Dream World, and her reconciliation with Taranza. The imagery then shifts to the Redux where she fought David and Jack destroyed the Redux Dimension Mirror, leading to her splitting into two separate entities and gaining a new body. The next few images show the adventures that she had with her new body, which lead to her finally confronting her dark half in the Carribean and gaining her second God Mode state against Marluxia and Kaguya, finally leading to her gaining Burst Mode teaming up with Queen Bee against her Akumatized father. For the last part of the performance, her old body materializes from her playing the notes on a harp as her current self finishes the performance with one last spin before she bows.
"Wow...that was truly incredible." Magenta said. "Next up, we have Catra performing "From Shadows to Light"."
Catra stepped up, holding her ribbon as the stage darkened.
(Cue- Falling Inside the Black- Skillet)
Catra stood there as a patch of light grew from the darkened stage.10 seconds into the song, she started Dancing, the Light arcing out up into the air as spotlights came on.
The screen floor showed scenes of Catra and Adora's past together when they were kids, constantly being watched by Shadow Weaver. Catra's dances and ribbon twirls emphasized how their relationship grew in the Horde. As it continued on to when Adora took up the Sword of Protection and defected from the Horde to join the Rebellion, the screen projected Catra's inner struggles and pain, along with her rise to power within the Horde, before it all went away when the portal test failed and her utter loss to Cheetah.
The song and Catra's dance clearly expressed her pain and turmoil throughout her days with the Horde as well as the New Universal Villains. But in that pain, there was also hope, for someday things may change, as now she might have a place to call home with others.
What everyone was seeing were Catra's inner feelings, as she finished the routine with a bow.
(end song)
"Wow...nicely done. Now...let's see what Crusadermon has as she performs Trials of a Female Knight." Magenta said.
(Cue- Progress- Tales of Xillia)
The performance begins with imagery showing Crusadermon as a Kapurimon shying away in the bushes until a young girl walks up to her. That girl was a younger Sachiko. She tells Sachiko of her wish to be in the Royal Knights, but was nervous because of the fact that she's a girl. Sachiko tells her not to worry, for as long as she remains true to herself, she can accomplish any dream she has. The music picks up at the imagery changes to Crusadermon's fight with Sachiko at the Digital Shift in Akihabara, where Sachiko was able to split Crusadermon between herself and Rie Kishibe taking on the form of a black-armored Crusadermon, whom Sachiko defeats by utilizing Data Drain. The imagery changes again, this time to the many times that Sachiko and Crusadermon fought side-by-side, beginning with the Toy Box to the time Sachiko rescued her and Mickey from Luxord. The two of them even shared a tender moment in the Ylisse Redux at the prospect of her being sealed away again, before Sachiko held her hand and told her that everything was going to be alright before they both took the battlefield. The last image shows Crusadermon fighting the Chrysalia forces alongside Sachiko and giving her energy for her Hellfire Quake. As the image fades, the two of them can be seen back-to-back holding hands before grabbing their swords and taking off.
"Another good one. Wow...things are going good so far. Okay...next we have Stevonnie performing "Chronicle Combination." Magenta noted as Stevonnie walked onto the stage and began their performance.
The first image to appear was that of Princess Twilight and the Mane 6, specifically the first time they used the Elements of Harmony to purge Nightmare Moon of her darkness. That scene then shifted into the Occult Research Club being faced with a man with red eyes and five pairs of black wings. From there, the third image shows Shirou fighting a man with blonde hair and red eyes, swords flying in the air around them. The next image was more relaxed: a scene with Steven and the Crystal Gems in a group hug. The following image continued the heartwarming trend: Frisk and their family looking at a rising sun over a cliff, the monsters of the Underground finally free. Continuing on, the next image showed one of the many spars between Goku and Vegeta, both in their SSB forms. The second-to-last image featured the members from Cross-World standing against the demon forces led by Corset during their first gathering at the Cross-World Tenkaichi Budōkai. The final image presented the entire team, united for the first time at the UFT, just before the World of Light, as the performance came to an end.
"Hmm...unique. Up next, we have Unmei Force's Sanae performing A Maiden's Birth." Magenta remarked.
(Cue- Faith is for the Transient People (TAMUSIC Remix))
Sanae immediately started performing, as she swayed her ribbon around, as the pictures above first showed her life as an ordinary school-girl, her hair brown instead of the green she had now. Her life seemed to be fairly mundane, as a scene showed her passing by groups of students, before finding her own group of friends, as she chatted with them for a moment. The next image showed her heading back to her residence, which was next to a small Japanese Shrine, with a wooden torii. She then visited the shrine, before she then made a deep prayer, as ethereal beings appeared before her, one being a tall lady with a large circular Shimenawa on her back, and around her waist, as she had short wavy blue hair and red eyes, and a black and red dress, and the other being a young girl with short blonde hair and brown eyes, and a blue and white dress, and a straw-hat with goofy googly eyes on top of it.
There was a screen transition indicated by a storm of autumn leaves, before the scene showed the same shrine, this time on a large mountain, as Sanae was still in prayer, before she then raised her head and opened her eyes, as she was surprised to find herself in a different place. And when the same beings appeared before her, she was surprised as well. However, the two goddesses smiled back, as they embraced Sanae lovingly, before Sanae returned the embrace herself.
The scene then showed a series of events, starting from her days as a shrine maiden, and encountering various youkai residents, before a scene showed her fighting against Reimu and Richard, as they engaged in an intense danmaku battle. Afterwards, it showed Sanae defeated, before a hand reached out, as it was shown to be a smiling Richard, while Reimu stood by the side with an impressed smile on her face. Sanae then took the hand, as the music slowly reached an end, as Sanae herself ended her dance with some wind magic, creating a small green tornado around her, as she twirled her ribbon following the tornado's spin.
"Wow...another wonderful little performance. Next we have Edelgard von Hresvelg as she performs Three Houses United." Magenta said as Edelgard took to the floor.
(Cue- The Apex of the World- Fire Emblem 3H)
She started spinning the ribbon as appearing was Edelgard's starting year in the Black Eagle house surrounded by her classmates. Things continued to transpire up until the battle at Garreg Mach. Instead of the three houses about to face off against one another, Byleth and Siege went and united them as they faced off against a large white dragon and a number of shadowy figures and monsters. They fought their way through the wave of enemies before jumping into the air, the three house leaders, Siege, and Byleth went and slayed the dragon and cut down the creatures and people.
Soon light was shining down as the three leaders, Byleth, Siege and their allies looked out at the rising sun as a new dawn slowly came to Fodlan.
"Wow...that was something. Next is Bellossom performing the Ballad of Charm." Magenta said as Bellossom started dancing as a scene soon started to play out in a dense jungle.
"Wait...I remember this. That's where we ended up when me and the girls ended up in that world." Nami said.
The scene played out as they saw a Lopunny, Gardevoir and Medicham entering a cave with the girls and braving the dangers inside, including an angry Aggron and his Lairon and finally ending off with a battle against Team AWD until a Ditto revealed itself due to Wigglytuff's intervention. They soon struck a pose as the dance ended.
"Hmm...charming. Forgive the pun. Now...next we have Ajna performing Eulogia." Magenta said.
The music began to play slowly as Ajna acrobatically danced as the scene started out with her third eye opening before zooming in to show her village, Ashwat as she was then seen running up the hill with her pet tapir, Roti before she soon reached the mountain and closed her eyes as she began slow yoga movements with her arms as she then opened her eyes and turned to see her father, Indr holding his hand out to her before they were both engulfed in flames as the music began speeding up. The scene then shifted to Dhar marching with an army of Belu behind him as he was then seen clashing his sword with Ajna's axe before it shifted to her facing off against an army of hungry ghosts before she was caught off guard and knocked down by a Belu before she got back up with a fierce glare. The camera zoomed into her eye to show Thorani stroking her air before she looked up as it then showed Baozhai waving her arm forward before turning to Ajna with a grin, as it shifted to Naga Rider jumping down from the rooftops of Tai Krung as he slowly turned his head before it shifted to Razmi walking through the jungle at night as her eyes turned to the right before shining her lantern in that direction. It once again shifted back to Ajna struggling against the Belu before showing Thorani, Baozhai, Naga Rider, and Razmi each glowing their unique color as they flew into Ajna's third eye while Dhar was seen defending her from the Baju's attack as she looked up to see Thorani attacking it from above as it collapsed to the ground before a giant Manote Thiha took its place as Ajna, Phoebe, Zebei, and Razmi readied themselves. Ajna was then seen transforming into her first Heruka Form before shifting to her and her many allies in the many areas of the world from Kaanul to the Iron Kingdom as Dhar was seen about to face off with Ravannavar as a larger shadow loomed over him before it then shifted to Ajna slowly standing up as she began running up the hill once more, showing all of her many allies before she jumped into the air and transformed as she slashed down with the scene fading into golden mandala lotus petals as she soon finished dancing.
"Wow. So far, we've seen some amazing performances, and that was no exception!" Magenta said. "Next up, Angel performing The Dragon King's Fall."
Angel started to dance as scenes showed of Agnologia flying through the air, destroying anything within his path as well as a short confrontation with Igneel that cost him his arm. Things then heated up during the war as Acnologia destroyed anything standing in his path as he roared while in another dimension, he faced against the seven dragon slayers, a confrontation that seemed one sided until Natsu powered up and laid down the finishing blow on the dragon king, destroying him once and for all as the dance ended there.
"Hmm...not sure what to think there. Next is Rinea performing Serenade of Unity." Magenta said.
Rinea starts up her performance as an image showed up where Oscar first encountered Velvet and Connor, along with Teresa confronting David and the Tapu Guardians before it fast forwarded to their deaths at the hands of Velvet and their souls wandering to Leonora, where they assisted in the Battle of Loegres. The next scene shows Ferdinand with Clive before the two of them went their separate ways and Fernand joined Berkut and Rinea before some time later where all three of them were slain by Hatori and Leonora welcomed their souls onto her. The next few stills show their future struggles in the IGPX, the battle against Grimoire in Organica, and the war against Odin. The next image shows the group's travels in Elibe, where the group journeyed with Roy's father Eliwood, running into and recruiting Uhai and Hector's father Elbert on the way. Moving right along, the imagery takes them to Italy, where they meet the mafia group Passione, recruiting Narancia, Abbacchio, and the group's leader Bucciarati as they take the fight to Diavolo. The final reel that played, showed the group's journey through the World of Mana, where Leonora and her Einherjar defeated the Darkshine Knight, and freed the soul of Duran's father, Loki. The last image shows the entire group standing together in battle poses as Leonora raises her rapier to the sky in a burst of light.
"Wow...incredible! Now...next we have Aelita performing...Memoirs of Family." Magenta said.
Aelita stepped onto the mat as she started. Images soon started to play from her early childhood of leaving with her parents until the day some men took her mother from her, leaving her with her father. The scene then shifted to the creation of Lyoko as she was soon inside with him before things turned black. They then lit up once again when she found herself surrounded by people she would later consider her friends. Scenes from countless battles soon played before she saw a sphere of light shatter before her eyes before executing a special code, ending XANA once and for all. The scene then showed her facing an image of her father before it faded as she then turned to the heroes as she was last seen running towards them.
"Wow...next we have Selena performing The Blue Rose and her Angel."
(Cue- Luna Snow *Tonight*- Marvel Future Fight)
A piano started playing as techno acoustics joined in as Selena stepped up and began dancing, it began to snow as images began forming to show her first meeting with Zelos when she was Shiva, kissing him on the cheek before it shifted to them reuniting in the Lyoko Redux of the Olympus XII Saga as she faced off against Boldore and defeating him. It then shifted to night as she and Zelos danced under the moonlight and shared their first actual romantic kiss and then to the many romantic moments they shared over the years before finally showing her and Zelos embracing one another as she then finished dancing. A rose with angel wings formed from ice then appeared behind her as she bowed.
"Now that was love. And now let's have Belladonna performing Trials of Mana. Hmm… Interesting take, all things considered. Let's see where she goes with this." Magenta said.
(Cue- Trials of Mana Main Theme)
Belladonna walks up on stage and begins her performance as the screen splits into six, each detailing the origins of the heroes of this tale: Duran, Angela, Riesz, Hawkeye, Kevin and Charlotte. The screens start to fade as one by one, they are all joined up by Reformed Society, Brave Adventurers, Spirit Force and Shining Hope Squadron. The lengthy feature showed their journey across the World of Mana, from encountering the Elementals, to the fall of the factions of the Dragon Emperor, Dark Majesty and Masked Mage, along with the rise of Anise the Witch. The next segment showed the group's struggles against the Benevodons as well as the battle against the faction leaders' former associates before taking the fight to Anise herself where the entire group rallied behind Cheetah as she dealt the final blow, dispelling the dark clouds and bringing peace to the world. Once the screen fades, she gets one last spin in before striking a pose.
"Majestic. And finally...we have Lucy Heartfilia, performing Friends Forever." Magenta said.
Lucy started her performance as scenes with her and Aquarius started playing from when she was a child as they slowly lead to many points in her life before they slowed to the battle against Tartaros as she and Aquarius were struggling with Jackal. As a final resort, she held up Aquarius's key to summon the Celestial Spirit King as it broke as Aquarius faded with tears running down her face as Lucy saw her off in tears as the dance soon ended after.
"Okay...now the performances are done. We will now announce our results." Magenta said. "Bronze is...Aelita's performance. Silver...we have Crusadermon's. And in gold...Rinea."
"Oh my. This… This is amazing." Rinea said.
"Indeed it is. It's not Gold, but I'm still glad with the result that was put in. A shame that Sachiko wasn't here to see it. I did dedicate it to her, after all." Crusadermon said.
"Don't worry. We recorded the whole thing for her to enjoy." Omnimon said.
"Hmm...they still haven't returned yet. I would have expected David to be done by now." Emi said.
"Excuse me, sir?" a voice said as she looked up.
"Kurapika...have you been doing the search I asked?" Emi asked.
"I did. We found them. They are unconscious inside of a warehouse in the harbor." Kurapika said.
"Oh no… If that warehouse is where I think it is, then. But, David has put it past him now, I'm sure he'll be fine." Emi said.
"Actually...I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it...but upon discovery...we found this note." Kurapika said, handing it to her.
"To those who read this, I have no intention of causing a scene. I have returned these three unharmed so that they will not be a hindrance to the games. However...if you attempt to track me...I'll spoil the games for everyone." she read.
"So whoever it is, they want the games to continue. The reason though...that's still a mystery." Kurapika said.
"We should probably heed his warning." Hope said. "We don't want to ruin the games when they're getting so exciting. The marathon is tomorrow, after all."
"Right. Besides, there's only two days left. We'll finish things off and then hunt down this guy the day after." Jexi said.
"Sounds good." Ace said.
"Besides...we still got one event to do today...the Javelin." Jexi said.
Things soon shifted over to the stadium as the Javelin throw was well underway.
"And here we are at the Javelin throw. Objective is simple. Farthest throw gets the gold. First up is Soldiers of Fortune's Dimitri!" Magenta said.
Dimitri stepped up as he pulled his javelin back before hurling it.
"49.783 meters!" Ty called out.
"Astounding. Next is Ginhana Sky's Lucario!" Magenta said as Lucario sent it flying with a strike.
"45.657 meters!" Ty called out.
"Okay...lets see some skill from Miriam of Spirit Force." Magenta said.
Miriam materialized a javelin in her hand before she launched it.
"48.465 meters!" Ty called out.
"Nice. Now we have Team Indivisble's Ajna throwing next." Magenta said.
"Alright, time to put the Harpoon Toss to good work." Ajna said as she readied to throw it and soon launched it as it flew far before it soon landed.
"49.658 meters!" Ty said.
"Nice. Next we have Max of Unmei Force." Magenta said.
"Alright, here goes… Hup!" Max remarked, before taking his javelin, and throwing it across the field with a fluid motion.
"50.878 meters!" Ty called out.
"Cool. Now we have Spectra Force's Tatsumi!" Magenta said as Tatsumi hurled the javelin.
"46.243 meters!" Ty called out.
"Neat. Next is Team Ginova's Mezo Shoji." Magenta said.
Shoji picked up the javelin as he gave it a strong toss.
"47.890 meters!" Ty called out.
"Nice one. Now it's up for Brave Adventurers Mana!" Magenta said.
"Here I go." Mana said as she ran up for some momentum before she tossed the javelin with all of her force.
"50.978 meters!" Ty called out.
"Excellent. Now for Team Chronicle's Undyne." Magenta said as Undyne gripped the lance and hurled with all she had.
"47.435 meters!" Ty said.
"Nice. Laxus of Fairy Tail is up." Magenta said as Laxus stepped up and tossed it.
"50.253 meters!" Ty said.
"Super. Now for the Dimensional Heroes Zan Partizanne!" Magenta said.
"Finally...it was about time I made my olympic debut!" Zan said running as she then tossed the javelin.
"51.019 meters!" Ty called out.
"Amazing! Now we have...Ug...Mythos Heart's Gabiru." Magenta said.
"Haha...so...decided to call upon me now. All you people...you shall witness my performance...and consider it a great honor from all of Mythos Hearts!" Gabiru said as he tossed the javelin.
"51.020 meters!" Ty said.
"Haha...there. I have attained a score no one can reach." Gabiru said.
"So...we're going to crush his score, right?" Examon asked.
"Pretty much. Sounds reasonable, though." Riesz said.
"Well you better show that hustle, Riesz...cause your next." Magenta said.
Riesz takes up a javelin and twirls it before she dashes for the white line and throws the javelin.
"51.343 meters!" Ty said.
"Say what?!" Gabiru said. "Well...I still have silver."
"Next is Team Straw Hat's Roronoa Zoro." Magenta said as Zoro tossed the javelin with little to no effort as it went flying.
"51.243 meters." Ty said.
"Oh come on. Do I even want to hope I'll keep bronze?" Gabiru asked.
"Let's see about that after Examon takes his throw." Magenta said.
Examon flies at a slow distance to the white line before throwing his Javelin.
"52.657 meters!" Ty called out.
"Gah!" Gabiru said before fainting on the field.
"Uh… Is he okay?" Mayumi asked.
"Trust us, he's fine." Cobalt said.
"Now...lastly, we have Bruno Bucciarati." Magenta said as Bucciarati went and tossed the javelin.
"50.978 meters!" Ty said.
"And that's everyone. Gold goes to Examon, Silver is Riezs and Bronze is Zoro." Magenta said. "And that concludes all of today's events. Tomorrow...is our final day!"
"That was an amazing throw, Examon. We expected no less from the Royal Knights' strongest member." Riesz said.
"Strong is an understatement, Riesz. The difference between the two of you is over a meter. But that's not to say your throw wasn't good." Belladonna said.
"I guess throws like that are to be expected when you master spears." Mana said as the comm beeped. "Hello?"
"Hey guys. You all finished up for the day?" David asked.
"Yeah. Also...Kurapika found Theo and the girls. You can come back now." Mana said.
"Alright. We're clearing out. Thanks, boss." David said.
"Anytime." Emi said.
Later that night…
"Ah...so good." Theo said enjoying the meal.
"So you really don't remember what happened?" Cobalt asked.
"No. I remember chasing the girls and trying to get them into the guild. Then came the attack but nothing else after." Theo said.
"That's so weird. What was the point of the kidnapping if they weren't intending to do anything?" David asked.
"I think you're thinking too much about it. As mysterious as the assailant was, it wouldn't do any good to work yourself up over it." Cheetah said.
"Yeah, I guess. I'm just glad that we were able to find them before things got...messy." David said.
"Though...weird part is...even when I defended against the attacker...I think I met them before." Theo said.
"You are certain of this?" Sachiko asked.
"We didn't interact and only met for a short while but I know we met." Theo said.
"Interesting." Spade said.
"But when was this...yeah. That's right. It was during the battle with the Devil Family!" Theo said.
"The Devil Family?" Hope said. "You mean Mammon's crew."
"Yeah...but...the attacker wasn't an enemy. I think it was one of the guys on our side." Theo said.
"That's weird. This whole thing doesn't make any sense. What was the point of all of this, then?" David asked.
"Not everyone was an ally in that fight. Remember? One of the factions was neutral but joined to save their own members." Jexi said.
"From what you all are saying, there are so many questions left unanswered." Ace said.
"Another of the Lost Thieves? For someone claiming not to make a scene, they sure know how to do just that." David said.
"But...this doesn't make sense. If they wanted to steal, they could have taken the medals without much effort. So...ugh...there's so much of this I don't get." Jexi said.
"Let's just drop it. Once the games are over and done with...we can forget this guy and continue on our merry way." Lea said.
"Yeah. You're right. I prefer to forget about this whole fiasco entirely." David said.
"Yeah, and tomorrow's the last day of the Olympics, so let's make the most of it while we're all together." Ace smiled softly.
"The marathon is a total distance of 42.195 kilometers. It is the ultimate test of speed, endurance, and stamina." Cheetah said.
"You all will do great out there." Mastemon said.
"Seems they're letting two from each team compete. Sounds like my kind of fun." Jexi said.
"And from the looks of things, the runners will be timed individually." David said. "It's really going to come down to the wire. It all comes down to this."
"One final event before we all split off from one another once more." Jexi said. "It'll be one to remember."
"It sure will." Ace said.
"Let's give it our all out there." David said.
"Hahaha… Wouldn't want it any other way." Cheetah said.
