Evaluations.. Part II

Eleanor POV

I took the parchments with questions and headed off to the first teacher which was Professor Lupin. I talked with him.

"So Professor, I have some questions for you, I would like for you to answer them to your best ability," I inform Remus.

"Alright, Ms Thomas. Is there any way for the reporter to leave us alone?" Remus asks me.

"No professor, the reporters were hired by Hadrian's father, to see how the three of us fare under the pressure of the press. Let's begin" I state. "So how did you find out about the opening of the Defence Against the Dark Arts position?"

"Well, I found out through Severus Snape. He and I might not have gotten along as school children, but he knew there was an opening of a job in my strong suit. He knew me and all of my friends had a class that they were great at. He included, we all had been the top of our class in at least one class each, except Lily. I was the best of us in DADA and muggle studies, James in transfiguration and HOM, Lily in charms and arithmancy, Severus in potions, Sirius in astronomy and runes, and Peter in Herbology and COMC. None of us took Divination because we knew you had to have the gift to be good at it." Remus explains. "My four friends and I decided to take the NEWTs required to become Aurors. The only ones who became Aurors for a short while were Sirius, James and Lily. After James and Lily's deaths, Sirius decided to take a break from being the worker and with him being Lord Black, we were still well off. When I found out that I could potentially teach my sons and godchildren, I accepted. I know for a fact that Sirius is jealous and worried that something will happen."

I nod and fill out the questions he answers until we hear the class shuffle in. 5th-year students, OWL level Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs. I wave to my friends who are in 5th year, Roger Davis being one of them. I had tried out to be a chaser last year and succeeded. I was probably the best one who tried out for the quidditch team. Roger was made quidditch captain this year and granted me a solid spot on the team until he left.

The class adored Professor Lupin and were very attentive. He managed to make 15 to 16-year-olds interested in a subject that is taught even as children for most purebloods. Students rated the class 10/10 every time and all the students had good reports for the defence professor.

After that, I headed straight to the next class, in the Dungeons. I talked with Sev for a while, he answered my questions honestly and proudly. As the class filed in, I had moved to the back, paying attention to the students and how they responded to the lesson and Sev himself. They all said that with the arrival of Hadrian Riddle, the Professor had improved his teaching, as if he'd regained something he had lost before. To that, all the Slytherins snickered, as the class was 6th years who wanted a Newt in Potions. After finishing the sheet I head off to lunch in the ROR like discussed this morning. Over this, we take pictures and discuss the papers. Right after lunch, I head to Professor Vector and it goes as well as the last two. The final teacher I had to do before Filch was Trelawney. From the second I walked into the class, I could tell that professor Trelawney was a fake. The so-called 'prophecy' she gave was planned out by Dumble-de and his Order. I knew that a real seer doesn't remember their prophecy. I'd asked her about the day that Dumbledore hired her. "Oh yes, that was the day I gave a prophecy in the hog's head." Is what she answered with.

"What was the prophecy in specific?" I'd asked to try and confirm that she was lying about a true prophecy.

"The one with the power to defeat the dark lord approaches.." she continues with the manufactured prophecy in response.

"HA! I caught you and your ruse of giving prophecies. A true seer never remembers their prophecies. And a good one never goes to the DOM to find out." the entire class gave bad remarks on her.

The day finished, Professor Vector having great reviews. Filch was having none of it when I asked him questions. We gave the papers to Hades for him to review. He took the papers and we discussed over dinner what teachers were leaving and how many people we needed to replace them, and add more extra staff, such as caretakers, and medi-wizards.
