Ay, I have returned, the unspeakable year is over, it's a new decade(look it up, the new decade starts on the first, not the zeroeth), and I've rewatched all of Fate for the sake of inspiration...So basically I've given up my soul, lets see if it was worth it!

BEGIN!

Midoriya residence, Sunday before finals

"Let's see, Uruz, definitely that one. Maybe Raidho to act as a natural buff to the mind's defenses. Ah, Isaz, that should give this a bonus against unknown attacks. Can't go wrong with Eihwaz. Hmm, running out of room. Then the last runes should be Mannaz and Sowilo." Nodding to myself I analyzed the newly created mystic code to check my work.

Silver ring of mental protection(R): A mystic code crafted by Izuku Midoriya. It has the mysterious ability to fortify the mind of the wearer, protecting against C-ranked magecraft and above with a 50% resistance rate while completely nullifying lower-ranked magecraft.

"...Maybe I overdid it a bit." If this was what he could already do with a basic silver ring, what could he do with a gold one? Or something bigger like a necklace! Would the effects stack with multiple accessories? What would that even mean for something with a resistance rate and a full nullification feature like this?

"Izuku honey! Are you coming down for dinner or should I put it in the microwave?" Mom called out from outside my room. Right. Food, magic could wait for later.

"Coming!" I called out while heading to the kitchen. What would I ever do without my mom? Always looking out for me. "Hmm, maybe…Yeah, she deserves something nice." I mutter while checking through my inventory for the proper gift to give. Ah, that one sounds perfect!

Over the last month or so of trial, error, and regular classes I have been diligent with my daily gacha rolls. Some of which gave me some seriously cool stuff, and even my first legendary item! The full set of roles came out like this:

Universal: Pencil case, bargain brand deodorant, bicycle helmet, GameStation 2 XL, MP3 player(Endeavor edition), Midnight sunglasses, rubber duck, red, black, and blue candle set, 10,000 yen x15, assorted gemstone dust x5, leather jacket, MMA gloves. (Some fairly standard stuff, this gacha system is quickly making me quite a bit of money, even with just the guaranteed universal items)

Common: Colt M1911 pistol, 50 x .45 ACP cartridges x20, perfect Opal, 10 g gold plates x4. (...I probably need to register that now, unless my mysterious benefactor can take care of the legalities for me?) (No such luck kid) (Had to try)

Uncommon: The Amazing Spider-Man #1, Meditation skill book, 1st Edition Charizard(highest rank), Advice token x5, Gacha Reroll token x5, Random stat potion x7, Repair Tool(Subnautica). (A lot of duplicates, albeit valuable ones. Not to mention all of those collector's items that are worth quite the mint.)

Rare: True Enochian skill book, Moon rock/1kg, The Art of War(Original), De revolutionibus orbium coelestium(Original), Hamon skill book, Soldier Pills(Naruto) x5), divine Moshi 500g, Alchemy skill book(FMA), prana storage gems(200 units) x2. (...Holy shit! T-those manuscripts alone are worth tens of millions of yen each! A-and are those skill books what I think they are?! And that Moshi...Ochako's going to have a heart attack.)

Epic: Gutenberg Bible Vol 1, Codex Leicester, Hades Cap of Invisibility(NP), Excalibur(Richard), Reinforcement skill book, Projection skill book, Mystic eye killer glasses, artificial Mystic Eyes of Binding. (I'm a billionaire, well shit. And those magic skill books aren't anything to scoff at either, though the mystic eyes might be a bit much. Good thing those glasses came with them.)

Legendary: Five-star Dragon Ball(Shenlong) (0O0)

A fucking dragon ball. My quirk gave me a god damned DRAGON BALL! Granted it was only one, but still! 'This is not coming out of my inventory until I have all seven. No exceptions.' I decided after restarting my brain...Where was I going with this again? Oh right! A gift for mom.

You know what, I'll make her something custom built. Quickly taking a few of the pure gold plates out of my inventory, I used my enhanced strength and a bit of heat from the friction of my work to mold it into a perfectly sized bracelet. Next, I manually carved the runes Ansuz, Wunjo, Algiz, and Ingwaz into the material using my fingernail, effectively creating a vitality and growth mystic code which should in theory vastly improve mom's health over time.

Smiling at my work I took a moment to cool it down by letting it burn out in my palm before finally exiting my room. Wouldn't want to accidentally burn mom's wrist with her own gift now do I? Stepping out into the kitchen I see mom holding a steaming plate full of mouth-watering food, including my personal favorite katsudon meal.

"There you are Izuku, I made your favorite food! I thought you could use a reward for all of the hard work you've been doing for the past month." Smiling at the gesture and blushing a bit at the growl my stomach gave I leaned in to hug mom, subtly placing the bracelet on her arm as I did so. "Izuku honey, what is this? Is this real gold! Where did you get it, it's so beautiful!"

"I made it myself, just for you. That's just a small token of my appreciation for everything you've done for me, mom. It's the first of many that I plan to give you, though I'll leave those for a later date." I winked, preparing myself for the incoming river of tears that was sure to come up only to be surprised by an unexpected question.

"Where did you get this Izuku, you said you made it yourself but where did you get the gold? And where did you learn how to make something of this quality in the first place…" Mom said, clearly worried. I suppose that it was about time that I revealed the true nature of my quirk to her, and luckily, I now have the means to do so while keeping her safe from any prowling mind readers out there.

"Mom, I'll explain everything but first, what do you know about RPG's?" I asked, to which mom replied that I shouldn't mess with military-grade explosives, no matter how durable I was...This was going to take a while to explain.

Hours of explaining gamer lingo later.

"...And you're absolutely sure that you aren't on drugs right now honey?" I should have honestly expected that question. Of course, I answered no, hell I was decently sure that any hallucinogenic drugs used on me would have reduced if any effects at all considering the perks of Gamer's Mind. Not that I could blame her for thinking that, it was my first guess along with this being some kind of elaborate quirk prank.

"Right, of course, just...Please be careful Izuku, I know that these powers have made you...Incredible for the lack of a better word, but as a mother I can't help but worry about you. Please, I know I can't stop you from being a hero but... Just promise me that you'll be careful above all else." She stumbled over her words, showing me just where I got my previous stutter from. I couldn't stand to see mom so worried like this, and it's not like I hadn't made a similar promise just a few weeks earlier.

"Mom, I swear on my life and everything I hold dear that I'll take every precaution possible to stay alive. I'll never stop protecting the innocent, but even I know that if I go down, the chances are high that those I was protecting will soon follow. And I think it goes without saying that I'll never let that happ-" I was cut off by a firm hug from mom, comparatively light tears soaking my shirt as we stood there for what felt like hours before deciding to spend the day together. Something that neither of us knew that we needed as much as we did.

This. It was stuff like this that made me realize just what heroes fought for. What I fought for, and what I would keep fighting to protect. Tonight, I would enjoy this while it lasted, tomorrow...Knowing U.A I'd be in for something equally painful, informative, and overpriced.

The next day, final exams, Izuku POV

In front of me was a collection of some of the most popular, not to mention powerful, heroes in all of Japan, each one staring at me with a rather frightening smirk. "Why? Just why? Also how? And when?" Several unasked questions were implied from the previous set, most of which the genius principle of U.A could guess and planned on answering.

"You're too strong for the regular test, or the newer test that we've come up with. So instead we've enlisted the help of some of the country's top heroes to give you a proper challenge proportional to your potential Midoriya-kun. As for how-" The mammalian principle answered only to be cut off by a certain battle bunny.

"I don't know about lizard-chan, the chuunibyou, or the fire crotch, but I just want a rematch Izuku!" The current number 7 hero Mirko chimed in, effectively pissing off her temporary male coworkers. "Also you got me interested in working with other heroes every once in a while. Ryukyu is pretty badass if you were wondering." She introduced the current 12th ranked hero, the lowest-ranked hero among them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you Midoriya-san. I suppose I should thank you for getting this antisocial rabbit to open up to partnerships. She's been a great mentor for me." She said politely, slightly embarrassed over Mirko's aggressiveness. "I can't wait to test your combat abilities myself."

"Izanami couldn't stop talking about you during the off-time of our internship. So when U.A asked around for volunteers I couldn't help but be interested. I hope that your fighting ability is as good as your naming scheme." Should I be happy or worried that someone named Edgeshot liked my naming sense? Questions for never.

"You defeated Shoto, and then you suddenly became All Might's supposed successor of all things. It would be irresponsible of me as the number two hero to turn away from such an opportunity." Translation: Endeavor couldn't beat All Might no matter how hard he tried. Time to go after his apprentice.

"Does that explain it well enough for you Midoriya-kun? Great! The rules for your test shall be the same as for the rest of your classmates but with the obvious exception of having more opponents and the lack of restraints on them. Any further questions?" I opened my mouths. "Other than why All Might isn't here, you know that we can't reserve too many heroes to just you. Toshinori shall be testing Yaoyorozu-san and Todoroki-kun instead."

"I have no further questions." My defeated voice was clear, a little disappointed that I couldn't fight my mentor again. Though If I was being honest, doing that would have probably been my downfall. A few weights or not, I still wasn't quite on his level yet. These heroes though? Maybe, just maybe.

"Good, a hero shouldn't dally with pointless questions when a crisis is happening. Villains don't talk your ear off in real life." Endeavor said, and it took all of my willpower not to correct him on that. Shigaraki, Kurogiri, Stain, nearly all of the major villains I had faced were rather talkative. Granted they weren't very stimulating conversations.

"You will have five minutes to prepare yourself Midoriya-kun, please use any and all tools in your arsenal, this is as much a test for these great heroes as it is for you." It wasn't very often that you fought someone as versatile as the Gamer. It would be a good exercise for any fighter.

Five minutes of MacGyvering later, 3rd person fight POV

Eerie laughter rang out through the false ruined city as the green hero walked in plain sight. Seemingly completely at ease with the team of powerful and highly experienced "villains" heading in his direction. Little did they know that five minutes was more than enough for him to feel at least somewhat secure.

"He's just walking, menacingly. He knows something that we don't." The ninja of the group whispered for some reason even though they were nearly a kilometer away from the greenette. "Also why is he wearing so much jewelry all of a sudden?" He asked the only hero among them who had spent a decent amount of time with the student.

"Damn, he's got even more of those bullshit magic runes now. I have no idea what any of them do but they're bound to be annoying." The battle bunny griped, knowing just how much of a pain in the ass those little symbols could be when used properly. And with a month of study and training time? She was certain that her former intern/partner now had plenty of tricks up his sleeves.

"If we have no useful information then we'll have to scout him out. If it looks like you have an opening, take it. Otherwise, stay out of my way while I test the waters." The elder Todoroki said simply before blasting off towards the green hero student, a Jet Burn already launched towards his face.

Which of course was met by a Delaware Smash from Izuku, which while powerful, did not fully stop the flame hero's attack as he had powered it with more than enough energy to combat someone on All Might's level if necessary. Something that the older Todoroki had only done in his fights with the #1 hero. Until now.

As Endeavor's fist grew closer he smirked, thinking that he had taken the overconfident child by surprise. This smirk disappeared faster than Izuku's father the moment that the greenette caught the punch as if it were nothing. Skin seemingly immune to the flames as he did so.

"Strong. You didn't earn your rank for nothing Endeavor, but you're nowhere near as strong as All Might. Speaking of which, you should be familiar with this next attack." Cocking his fist back, Izuku did so slowly for maximum effect as Endeavor desperately tried to pry himself away from his grip. Immolating himself and Izuku in hopes of overcoming Izuku's runic and natural fire resistance.

"Sorry, but your quirk is rather simple to counter. Fire resistance is ridiculously simple to build into my gear and let's be honest. Your powerful flames are pretty much all you have." Izuku said before sending a 50% Detroit Smash at his opponent. 'I hope Todoroki-kun is watching, he'd probably love this.'

Boom! The elder Todoroki was hit straight in the chest, sending him back from where he came, his body crashing into the building where the other heroes were waiting. Wide-eyed and mouths open as their now injured comrade flew past them and several concrete walls thereafter…

"So Mirko-san, do you still want that rematch?" Izuku said, his voice somehow carrying over the whole distance to the heroes, a smirk on his face as he stared down the now sweating heroes. It was at this moment that the top heroes in all of Japan realized that they may have been way over their heads.

Next chapter, an actual fight. Or, at least the closest thing to a fight these poor normie heroes can muster. Worry not, however, Izuku is still not the top dog around these parts and he'll get quite the challenge soon enough...Or as soon as my messed up schedule would allow anyway, my next FF chapter will be for the Origins story since I feel like writing RWBY next. Until then! I will also be updating this story chapter by chapter to make it flow better and overall fix old typos as I did with my Konosuba story so don't get too excited if you see this story updated multiple times in the following weeks.
