Hey there, been a while huh?

This is an update about the current state of this story and what'll happen going forward.

In simple terms, when I began writing 'To Be Strong', I didn't really have much going for it besides a very simple concept. As I've already noted before, this was my first time writing fanfiction of any kind, and I thought simply having a few chapters pre-written in advance with some vague ideas of where the plot was going to go would be enough to maintain the same tone throughout the entire story with no deviations whatsoever.

Haha, right?

Well, things didn't exactly end up like that. I ended up dedicating less time to some things that I should have (characterization, mostly) and more time to things I shouldn't (Yakegake being three chapters and over twenty-thousand words long come to mind.)

That's not to say I'm not happy with how this story has turned out so far. The Rock Lee fight is something I'm particularly proud of, as well as the overwhelming support I've received from the community (Over one hundred followers and more than thirty reviews!). That being said, I simply felt as if what I had written so far wouldn't really mesh well with what I had planned for the future, both in tone and plot.

So, does this mean that this story will be abandoned permanently? No.

I'll be following through on a massive re-write starting from chapter one that will change several aspects of the story, mostly centered around character development and plot progression (and hopefully pacing as well.) The reason I'm putting this notice at all and uploading this re-write as a separate story is because I feel as if some changes will be so radical that simply uploading them to this and not saying anything could be very confusing for the readers who have been following so far, and because I don't want to take down all of the work that has been put into this already.

In summary, expect to see chapter one of the re-write being published sometime around the next two weeks. For those who have already followed my profile, you should receive an email notification as soon as it happens. For those who haven't yet, that could be a way to continue to be kept up with the story. For those who won't anyway, I'll publish another "update chapter" to this notifying all of you.

SO, TLDR; Because of unplanned elements of this story, I ended up being unhappy with the plot progression and will be doing a major, new-story "re-write' of To Be Strong. It will be coming out in the next week or two, and consistently updated from then on out. There will be major differences when it comes to characterization and major events, but the general "plot-outline" will remain the same. Thank you all for the support you've given me so far, and if you decide to not keep up with my writing after the changes, I still appreciate the time you've given by reading everything I've put out there up to this point.
