XIV. Parting Gift

It was time to go.

She knew she would be back in a couple months, and this time for good, but that didn't make it any less hard to leave her new boyfriend.

Gaara's siblings and Baki went with them to see Harley off. The shuttle had arrived to take her to the closest city with an airport (though it was still very far away).

The two were hugging and kissing each other goodbye.

"I love you," Harley said.

"I love you too. I have something for you."

"Oh?"

Gaara reached into his pocket and pulled out the gift that he hoped would cheer her up.

Her eyes widened and a big grin spread across her face. It was an onyx pendant, almost identical to the one she gave him when they were kids.

"You know that my father destroyed the one you gave me back then," he began. "But I still wanted to return it to you somehow. It can be something to remember me by while you're away; the same sentiment as the one you gave me."

"You know I'd never not remember you," she teased, placing the pendant around her neck.

She hugged him once more.

"You're seriously the sweetest. I'll see you soon."

A/N: I apologize for the sudden spamming of drabbles. My fluffy mood has been on overdrive lately.
