Summary/disclaimer: time for another chapter of Future Endeavor Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ben Ten, Cartoon Network and a few others do.
(Earth, Bellwood, 30 years ago)
Gwen looked at Mason King. The boy was rather plain looking, with dark black hair, a red T-Shirt that looked slightly short for him. The blue jeans and red sneakers were also a bit weirder.
"Gwen has a crush; Gwen has a crush!" Ben stated while Gwen played with the Omnitrix. She was glad Ben couldn't see the blush on her cheeks.
"Not funny, dweeb!" Gwen hissed while rubbing at her eyes. "I don't have a crush on him!" Gwen stated while crossing her arms. Gwen looked at the roof of her house.
Mason tapped away at his computer while letting out a sigh. Mason was a very shy boy, something that Gwen knew. He barely looked up from his computer at her.
"I'm usually the one calling you a dweeb." Ben stated before Gwen held up the Omnitrix with a smirk.
Ben went to go and talk to Lucy and Cooper. Gwen looked at Mason.
"Are you playing computer games on that?" Gwen questioned Mason. Mason looked slightly over the edge over the edge of the computer. "Didn't you have a project?" Gwen asked and raised an eyebrow at them.
"I-I completed it." Mason said before patting the computer. "Why, you didn't?" Mason asked Gwen who hummed and nodded.
"Got it done 3 weeks ago." Gwen said while looking at her nails. Gwen rubbed at her temples.
Gwen had met Mason at the local fair. He helped teach people about how to fix computers. Mason cracked his fingers and tapped them on the screen.
"Of course, you did." Mason stated with a slight smirk. "You pointed out an error in the hard drive." Mason said while gesturing to the computer. Mason put his computer into his backpack.
"That computer was basically a piece of garbage." Gwen stated while Mason hummed and shrugged. "Besides, you were busy starting to strip the chips out of it." Gwen put in as Mason shrugged.
"Yeah, the chips were old and broken." Mason responded before looking at Gwen. "Besides, you're the one who told me to take apart your phone." Mason stated with a smirk while Gwen playfully swatted at him.
(Current Day)
Mason looked over a photo that Max had taken of the duo. It took all of 3 months for Animo to capture him. Mason still felt the waves of energy racing over his body.
Gwen had managed to save him, but by then? The Necrofriggian DNA was bonded to him at the cellular level. It would never be removed.
Mason decided to see it as a blessing after a while. It did allow him to defend himself and help Gwen after that.
Plus, Mason didn't regret the fact that he and Gwen got married soon down the road. It helped that he and Gwen became closer as she looked into ways to try and revert Animo's work.
"Do you ever wonder what would have happened if I hadn't met you?" Mason questioned as he turned to look at Gwen. "Animo could have gone after anyone." Mason said which caused Gwen to frown.
Mason was still able to respond faster then Gwen did, cutting off any response she mentally prepared.
"I don't regret that, Gwen." Mason said and flew down the staircase. "Not for what I have now. Animo mutated me… So? I still had parents who accepted me. I still had friends who looked after me. I got a super smart and snarky girlfriend out of it who can kick anyone's butt out of it. I also got to use those powers to save the Earth a few times." Mason said and chuckled.
"Yeah, because the kids constantly have to hear how much you love being part ice moth." Gwen teased as Mason turned to her. "You are so easy to mess with. Ben constantly used to point out how much you'd blush around me before we started dating." Gwen added to Mason.
"Considering I was a boy around a cute girl I had a crush on?" Mason said as Gwen rolled her eyes playfully. "Do you really think you can fault me for that?" Mason questioned and cracked his neck.
"Hmm, let me think about it." Gwen teased playfully before swatting at Mason. "Why did you start thinking of back then? "Gwen questioned while Mason blinked.
"Because it reminded me of the day, I met my lovely wife?" Mason asked only for Gwen to throw her shoe at him and giggle. Mason turned invisible and slowly floated up the stairs.
"Get back here." Gwen said as she walked up the stairs. "You do realize we have to go and talk to the kid's teachers tomorrow. Right?" Gwen called after Mason as he reached their bedroom.
"I'm well aware of it." Mason stated and cracked his back. "It's a lot different then crime fighting. It's still interesting to look back at." Mason added.
