Well, this chapter, instead of being light hearted like I planned it to, is not. I honestly don't know how I feel about it, but I feel like it needs to happen. Things will change, and definitely not for the best
A few days later
Noah woke up, trying to get up but not being able to. He tried to move his arms, but found them suspended, surrounded by metal braces. "I wouldn't do that if I was you." He turned to see a middle aged doctor looking at him. "You have three broken ribs, two of which pierced your right lung, with seven cracked ribs as well. Your cheek has a shallow cut. Your right arm was broken into seven pieces, one of which pierced the skin. Your left arm has second degree burns all over it, not to mention your radius and ulna were snapped cleanly in half. Unfortunately, we couldn't heal you perfectly. Your right arm will have a scar where the bone broke skin. Now, onto your left arm. We did everything, but just barely managed to save it. You will always have the burn scar around the forearm." Noah nodded numbly, shocked by the sheer amount of damage done to his body.
"Doc, can I still be a hero with all that I've been through?" Noah asked, his voice breaking, scared of the answer.
"You can, but, for how long remains to be seen. You see, since you were out of energy, to save you, we had to do extensive surgery. Your ribs and lung will be fine, but your arms won't. If you damage them like you did, you will lose them. Both have the same risk. Just be careful in the future." Noah nodded again, starting to think. The doctor went to the door. "And before I forget, you will need physical therapy. You were out for a week, so your muscles have degraded some. Due to the damage done, along with the procedures, we haven't allowed anyone to visit you, nor does anyone know the extent of your injuries. Do you wish to allow visitors?"
"No. I need time to think. You can tell them I'm awake, but nothing else. I don't want them to worry." The doctor nodded and left, leaving a deep in thought Noah.
Elsewhere
"What do you mean I can't see him?!" A blue haired bombshell shouted. "I'm his girlfriend and I have a right to see him!"
"You better let me in before I get another chair!"
"Yuuma no!"
"Yuuma yes!" Kai hugged Yuuma, pinning her arms to her side.
The doctor let out a sigh, not enjoying the situation at all. He remembered the Hados from the stories that spread. About how the daughter would cling to her man no matter what, how the father was the only good one, and the mother was a demon who loved to hit people with chairs when they got in between her and those she called family. "Let me finish. You aren't allowed to see him because he requested it." This got the three Hados to stop. "Noah woke up about an hour ago. He said he doesn't want any visitors. He also forbade me from telling you his injuries. He doesn't want you to worry."
"Doc, please, is there anyway we can talk to him? Please?" Yuuma asked, her voice wavering. The doctor sighed yet again.
"There is one way. Since you are the legal guardians, I can tell you this, but give him a while."
A few hours later
Noah was staring at a wall, brooding. He was startled as the ringing of a phone was heard. His nurse, a cute pinkette by the name of Muja Kina, held it up for him.
"NOAH SHIGARAKI KAYAMA! HOW DARE YOU BAN US FROM SEEING YOU!" A very familiar voice shouted from the phone as she held it away from his now hurt ears.
"AND HOW DARE YOU HURT YOURSELF LIKE THAT! THERE WERE OTHER HEROES WHO COULD HAVE HELPED! NOT TO MENTION HOW YOU JUST GAVE ME A BABY AND RAN OFF! JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU-" Kina quickly hung up the phone at Noah's look.
The phone rang a second later. She answered it. "HOW DARE YOU HANG UP ON M-" She hung up again. The phone rang again, except both ignored it at Noah's command. It kept ringing until it stopped about five minutes later. Then, it rang after a minute of silence. She picked it up and held it out for him.
"Noah?" A soft, angelic voice spoke.
"Hey Nene, how's it going?"
"I've missed you. I really want to see you. Will you let me?"
Noah sighed. "I don't really want to, but I guess you can. Please, don't bring anyone else with you. I don't really want people to see me. You'll see why later. Bye Nene, I'll see you soon." Kina hung up the phone as Noah sighed.
"Kina-san, can you step outside? I have my girlfriend, a blue haired girl by the name of Nejire Hado coming. I want you to let her in." Kina nodded and stepped outside, leaving Noah alone.
A couple minutes later
"He's right in here Hado-san." Noah heard his nurse say. He saw the door open and his nurse lead Nejire in.
"Kina-san, please leave. I'll be fine." He gave her a small smile as she left, leaving him and Nejire alone in awkward silence. He looked her over, recognizing the giant hoodie on her as his favorite one. She had dark circles under her eyes.
A minute passed with no words, the atmosphere tense. "So, how are you? Been good?" Noah asked, trying to not make it even more awkward than before. Nejire muttered something. "What was that? I couldn't hear you"
"I said, tell me everything. The doctors didn't tell us, tell me, anything, because they said you didn't want us to worry?! We worried even more! We thought you lost something!" Nejire shouted, tears streaming down her face, letting her bottled up emotions out.
"I almost did! I almost lost my left arm! The doctors said they barely saved it! My arms will never be the same! I might have to quit being a hero if I want both my arms! My right arm was broken in seven pieces, one of which destroyed my skin, sticking out! My left arm was burnt! It's got second degree burns around it! Not to mention it was snapped in half! And I'll always have the scars on both arms! I had two ribs pierce my lung! So I did almost lose something!" Noah shouted, tears threatening to leak out.
"Then why?!"
"Why what?"
"Why does it always have to be you?! This isn't the first time you've been hurt like this! I know we're heroes, but still! First you were kidnapped in front of UA, then you got hurt at the USJ, and now this! You always go in alone, leaving everyone behind so you can get hurt! I don't know if I can handle seeing you like this!" Nejire started to sob.
"Are you telling me I should quit?! That I should give up on my dreams of making a name for myself?! That I should always be 'the kid of the villain who finished All Might'?! You know how much proving I'm more than a villain's kid means to me! And if you're saying I should give it up, then I never should have said yes!" Noah finished, his tears gone, an angry visage on his face.
Nejire took a step back, looking as if she was physically slapped. "Wh-what?" She squeaked out.
"You heard me, Nejire." He spat out her name like it was poison. "I never should have dated you if I had known you would want me to choose between you and my dream. And in case you don't know, this means we're through. Now get out! OUT!" He roared, scaring her. She ran to the door. "AND DON'T COME BACK!" She left, leaving Noah alone with his thoughts and emotions.
Time to end it. Honestly, I had an entirely different draft, one where Azazel, using his drink, gave him a sip, energized Noah enough to save his arm, but that felt like a cop out. Instead, we have this emotional wreck. As of right now, I only have a base idea of what to do next. Please don't flame, but review.
Wait a minute. No joke, I didn't realize the parallels I made between Noah and Izuku. No cap, I didn't plan this. I only realized it as I went to post it
