"Tina!" I cried, running up to her and hugging her. "Amelia? Mr. Scamander?" She asked, somewhat joyful, somewhat disbelieving. "Expelliarmus!" I heard from Kama. I turned around to see Dads wand getting knock out of his hand. "Really? Can nothing ever go right for us?" I groaned. Today's just getting better and better. "My apologies, Mr. Scamander! I shall return and release you when Credence is dead!" Kaka said. " Kama, wait! " Tina cried, sounding just a little tiny bit (read, extremely...shhh) desperate. "You see, either be dies...or I do." Did he make an unbreakable vow or something? Honestly, given the recklessness of humanity, yes, Dad and I included, I wouldn't be surprised if this was some sort of revenge vow about to to wrong. Mr. Kama suddenly grabbed his eye. "No, no, no, no. Oh no. No, no, no." He moaned, jerking convulsively, sliding to the floor, unconscious . "Well, that's not the best start to a rescue attempt." Dad sighed. "It's not nearly as bad as the time in Norway." I reasoned. Good point. Dad conceded. "Do I want to know?" Aleathia asked, eyebrow raised. "Nope!" I said, turning back to Dad, who seems to have had Pickett unlock the door for us. "Newt!" Jacob called. "Well done, Pick. You need this man, you say?" I said, all of us heading towards him. "Yeah. I think this man knows where Credence is. Amelia. Mr. Scamander." Tina said, tense, hoping he was still alive. Suddenly, an earth-shattering road was heard. "Amy, get in the case. You'll need to calm the creature as soon as it's in. You can sleep after that." Dad promised. I nodded, opening the case and climbing down.
Fortunately, the enclosure right outside the shed was a grassy one. We had redesigned Frank's space as soon as we came back to England. I was forced back to reality when I heard the rattle of the fuzzy cat toy Dad bought for the niffler babies. I heard the case swiftly shut. A Zouwu. A real life Zouwu. I never thought I'd get to see one. Especially not in France. The Zouwu is native to China, so seeing one in Paris was a bit of a shock. I quickly noticed that the poor creature had a chain on it's neck. I'll find out it's gender after I get it comfortable. "Hey...hey, you're safe. It's okay. I'm not going to hurt you. I promise. Can I come closer? I just want to look at that awful chain. It can't be pleasant. Come on, calm down." I cooed, slowly inching forward, hands out, wand not on me. The Zouwu, like most beasts, are highly protective of children...and Dad. That's one reason why we're so good at what we do. Creatures just...trust us. The Zouwu stopped hissing at me when they realised that I was a child. Well, teenager, but it didn't matter. It was still long enough for me to get the chain off and tossed aside before it pounced on me. I held me breath before realising that it simply wanted to either play or get me to sleep. I noticed that the Zouwu had two sets of tusks, identifying it as female. Male Zouwu had three sets. The Zouwu huffed at my hair, okay, nap time it seemed. I curled up, leaning into her. She purred, content. I finally got my much needed sleep, safe in the embrace of the Zouwu. I'll name her later.
I was rudely awoken by Jacob accidentally tripping over me. "Ouch...whatssgoing ooooon?" I moaned. I was enjoying that dream. I think? I seem to have forgotten it. Oh well. "Oh, sorry if Kiddo. I'm just looking for some tweezers? Newt said they were down here." Jacob said, helping me stand up. "Tweezers? Why? I mean...I'll get them, but why?" I asked, shuffling of to Dad's section of the case bathroom. "Oh, and where are we now?" I asked, plucking the tweezers from their place in the desk. "Um, a safe house, I think." He replied. Cool. I'll process that after I've latched onto Dad. "Dad's outside the case, right?" I asked, heading towards the ladder. "Yeah, he, Tina, and Aleathia are looking after the Kama dude." Jacob said, following me. I nodded, already out of the case.
"Morning Dad. Jacob said you needed the tweezers. The Zouwu is nicely settled, didn't take too long to convince her to let me remove her chains. Now, what's going on with this guy?
