The meeting concluded and Kylee rushed out the door. She wanted to get away before anyone could say anything, but as soon as she burst through the door she was mobbed with paparazzi asking her a thousand questions. She felt two people surround her and start moving her. She kept her head hidden as she walked. When the crowd had quieted to a silence, she uncovered her face to see some friendly ones.
Nick and Matt had come to her rescue. She had known the Jackson brothers for quite some time. She was quite close with them, especially Nick. Kylee was asked to be his daughter, Alison's god parent. She loved these boys like they were her own brothers. As she felt the comfort fall over her, she fell to the ground and cried. Nick bent down and put his arms around her. She cried quietly against Nick. Footsteps began approaching them. She fell backwards farther onto the ground in an attempt to get away. She looked up to see Kenny concerned.
He outstretched his arm to help her off the ground. She grabbed his hand and slowly rose. She was embarrassed and hated herself. How could she be so stupid as to get herself tangled up in this mess. She covered her face as the realization sank in. She had made the biggest mistake of her life. Renee was her friend. How could she do that to her? She groaned as she saw more paparazzi coming for them. Kenny stopped them and told them to scatter or the police would be called. They left as Kenny walked back to Kylee.
"Thanks" she said quietly. She grabbed his hand and pulled him close to her and whispered "we still on for tonight? At this point I could really use something good". Kenny shook his head in agreement. As the Bucks turned, they questioned "What the heck are you two whispering about back there?" Kylee giggled knowing the Bucks would be against anything between her and Kenny. "Nothing" Kenny replied. She glanced up at her friend and began realizing that this is what she wanted. Jon would never get along with these guys. These were her friends and they had been for a while.
Still something felt off. As they walked, she had seen someone and realized that was what was missing. Adam Page stood behind his vehicle, loading his gear up. It had always been the 5 of them. Things were tense to say the least with everyone. Adam had gone off on his own path. But she still missed him. He was always the one to make her laugh even when it felt like the end of the world. Finally she spoke "What did happen with Adam? I never really got anything from any of you about it".
Kenny stopped abruptly. "Adam left us, not the other way around. He chose to do what he did. He hurt us" he explained. Kylee sighed "Don't you think you are being a bit harsh? It is always the three of you against everyone else. It is hard not to feel like an outsider. He was your tag partner and he was scared that you were going to abandon that." Nick chimed in "He cost us a title opportunity." He sounded irritated. "Well you guys weren't exactly making him feel included now where you?" she questioned. "That does not give him the right to just screw us over" Matt finally shouted. Adam looked in their direction. Kylee smiled sheepishly at him. She had always been closer to Adam than the others. But things got distant when he left the Elite.
"He was scared. And probably knew that he and Kenny could not beat you a second time. He knows you two. FTR was the wild card and he wanted to take a chance. Plus, you guys have to know that FTR and Blanchard were playing him. They knew he was the outcast so they preyed on him while you all did nothing" Kylee explained, getting frustrated. "This does not feel right without him." She sighed, feeling defeated. "Maybe you are right" Nick explained, feeling embarrassed himself. "We did know that Page was struggling. I guess we were just too focused on other things. We left him alone" he continued as he looked at the ground.
Kylee sighed as she continued to struggle with the exclusion of her friend. Adam was always there for her even when nobody else was. The others would be too busy, but he always made time for her. She closed her eyes and breathed deeply as she realized that she had not been there for him. She left him in the dark and he had gotten lost. This was her mess to fix. "Could you guys give him another chance?" she begged her friends. Kenny smiled as she batted her eyes at him. "On one condition" he said "you join the Elite too" Kenny said calmly. "This only works with all of us clearly." The group laughed as Adam watched closely.
Kylee walked over to him slowly. "Hey" she said "can we talk?" Adam nodded. She continued "What happened is my fault. I was not there for you and I am sorry. But, we do want you back. We miss you. I miss you" she said sheepishly. "They want to team up. All of us. I said I would only agree if you did. No more being the odd man out" she explained. She stopped realizing Adam had turned away. "They don't want me. They want you" he spoke softly. She sighed and walked around him. "Well, I want you" she explained as she grabbed his hand.
