Sorry for the long wait.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon or anything except Adventures of a Bulbasaur, which is the made-up book I created for this story.
Chapter 12 - Leaf's POV
"Don't hate me for this!" I cowered behind a desk as a big figure loomed over me.
"Of course I will," sneered the creepy voice, "and so will everyone else. You will die suffering from your losses."
I woke up shivering, covered in sweat. The voice... it sounded like Gary. With a gravelly side-effect. And more bigger.
I tried to meditate, but my mind was racing. Even though it was just a dream, I couldn't help but wonder if everyone would hate me. I never did anything wrong, so why would anyone hate me? Well, maybe besides Dawn because I stole her makeup kit, but it was just once!
I checked the time on my phone. Great, one a.m. Just my luck. More homework tomorrow, and I only slept three hours! U-G-H! I looked over at Misty, who was sleeping. I lay in my bed, trying to sleep.
"Leaf, if you can't sleep at the school, don't worry. Just listen to some Mozart."
Typical Mom. Why Mozart? I rolled over to my phone and clicked on Spotify. I was obviously NOT going to play Mozart. I picked a random song from my playlist and This Girl Is On Fire blurted out.
Oh shoot. Misty's going to kill me. Quickly I turned it down.
"Leaf!" someone hissed. I froze. Then I realized it was just Misty. To be sure, I checked the window. It was closed and bolted shut.
"Mornin', Mist," I grinned. She glowered at me.
"One, don't call me that. Two, why is that playing in the middle of the night?!"
"I couldn't sleep," I answered honestly.
"Go for a walk." Misty glared at me one more time, then she pulled her comforter over her head. Hmm, maybe a walk would do me some good.
I tiptoed to my closet and changed into a comfortable white T-shirt and grey sweatpants. Then I slung my leafy jacket over my shoulders and stuck a butter knife in it. Why Misty would bring a butter knife from the cafeteria to our dorm is a mystery to me.
I walked out the door, closing it behind me. I heard noises from down the hall, so I decided to run to the library. I liked reading about fictional stories about Grass-type Pokemon.
Admittedly, walking along in the dark halls was pretty frightening. I swear I heard the creak of a door, but I didn't see anyone.
Once at the library, I felt much better. The library was three stories high with about a million shelves with probably a gazillion books. It was filled with light, and through the small skylight, I could see part of the moon.
I climbed the wooden stairs to the second level, my tennis shoes making no sound. I picked out Adventures of a Bulbasaur and started reading.
"LEAF! LEAF!"
I jolted upright.
"LEAF!"
I stayed quiet. The voice was definitely feminine, but I was scared it would be Brittany. She's scary.
"I swear to Kyogre, if you do that one more time..."
MISTY! "Misty!" I called. I saw Misty come up the stairs, hastily dressed. She sat next to me.
"Leaf, it's two forty-three," Misty informed me, "in the morning. You also fell asleep I think."
I fell asleep in the book? I looked down and saw a bit of soaked paper. How embarrassing. "Nice."
"We should get going," Misty said darkly.
I shrugged. I wasn't about to admit it, but I definitely didn't want to walk those dark halls again. SO SCARY. "Let's stay here! I found a book I think you'd like," I suggested. I got up with my book in my hand and led her to the Water-type section.
We ended up staying there for the night. I fell asleep again, according to Misty. When I woke up, pre-dawn light was filtering into the vast library, pink and orange rays warming us up. We left our books where we found them and walked back to our dorm. The halls were less scary now, since there was pink light filling the building with warmth.
I'm NEVER going to open a door when May and Dawn are nearby again.
"MISTY AND LEAF!" Dawn shrieked as soon as we walked into our dorm. Our clothes for school were laid out on the bed and May was standing by the restroom door, her hands on her hips.
"Ten dollars, please," May said. I sighed. She handed me my phone and I paid her.
"I SWEAR TO DIALGA-" Dawn was cut off by May.
"YOU GUYS SCARED US TO DEATH!" she yelled.
"Shut your mouth! Our neighbors will..." Misty trailed off at the sound of a knock. We all froze.
The door opened. UGH! The principal of this school should have LOCKS on the DORM DOORS! Now we have Ash, Drew, Paul, and Gary busting down our doors, and WE'RE NOT PROPERLY DRESSED AND MY HAIR IS A MESS!
