As the sun started to rise on a frosty winters morning, her alarm rang out. Turning it off, she started to get butterflies and excited for her day ahead.

Nothing could beat a beautiful day for a wedding. She'd left her blinds open on purpose so she could see the sun rise to start her day. Standing there looking out the window she smiled, brushing some hair out of her face that she could see in her reflection.

Nothing brought her more happiness than knowing this was there home together no one else's.

Stepping closer she looked down to the street below which was bustling as always, as she walked off into the kitchen she pressed the button and waited for her coffee.

As she waited she looked at the time – 6:32am, in an hour her penthouse was about to be filled with people to get her ready for their big day. She couldn't help but smile at the thought.

Her coffee pinged it was ready as it she drew her attention back. Picking up the mug of coffee she made her way back into their bedroom. Sitting on the bed, she looked out at the sunrise, smiling thinking of the memories they shared.

Thinking back to the moment they almost kissed, he'd taken her on a bar crawl to get really drunk to forget all about Trip. Last time they'd been drinking alone together prior to this was the Sheppard wedding.

"You know, it took me a long time to get over what happened with us that night. Pft, I actually uh…. Well two years ago at the maskerade ball, I tried to tell you I loved you. It turns out I told Jenny Humphrey haha, she was wearing your mask."

"You, you loved me?"

"Of course I did. Serena you are the most beautiful, amazing, alive person I've ever known"

"Nate"

The week later when she realised after that she'd made the wrong decision.

"Serena!"

"Excuse me if I didn't say goodbye but after what you did.."

"Don't go"

"What?"

"Don't go with Trip"

"Nate"

"Okay I know what I did was wrong and I'm sorry I just, I did it because, because ever since last week, ever since 3 years ago when you left. Please don't get in the car, just stay here with me, just give me a chance"

Then finally realising her mistake and giving it a go, which was the most incredible time she's ever had with someone. Before it all got messed up…

After watching the sun fully rise in the cold winter sky and slowly finishing her coffee, she walks off into her bathroom for a shower.

"Serena? Are you awake? It's the big day!" Blair squealed. Walking through into her room, she could hear the shower running.

"Serena? I went out to get us breakfast. Just like old times!"

"Hey B, I wont be long, your dress is hanging up for you!"

"Makeup, hair, photographers should all be here in 10 minutes. Which gives us about 2 hours before our car arrives."

"Perfect, have you spoken to Chuck?" Serena asked as she turned the shower off.

"He messaged me this morning, all up and awake. Henry loved spending the night with them both apparently, which is great news for us S" Blair laughed.

"Definitely make a note of that," she said opening up her bathroom door in her towel.

"Thanks for staying over last night, it was lovely to reminisce of old times"

"I loved it too," Blair smiled back, "Croissant?

"Nathaniel, I must say Lorenzo has done a superb job." Chuck said complimenting Nate on his clean shave and cut.

"Daddy"

"Henry!" Chuck said excited as he caught him mid run and picked him up into the air. "Look how smart you look, dressed up ready for Uncle Nate and Auntie Serena's wedding day"

Henry smiled in his custom made tuxedo, peony boutonniere and all. "Can I have cereal for breakfast Daddy?"

"Of course you can, go and take a seat at the table for me." Putting him down Henry ran and took a seat as Chuck took him some cereal.

"Morning Mr Chuck, I look after Mr Henry while you get ready?"

"Thank you Dorota. Nathaniel and I wont be long, are you sure you can look after Henry and Monkey tonight?" Chuck asked

"Of course Mr Chuck" Dorota smiled.

As Nate stood their buttoning up his crisp white shirt, he grabbed his tom ford Windsor-fit grey tuxedo jacket.

Taking a big deep breathe in and out he finally felt ready as Chuck knocked on the guest room door, "you ready?"

"I think so,"

Looking slightly taken back by the response Chuck replied, "Think so. Look Nathaniel, you've both been waiting for this moment since you were teenagers. Once we all grew up," he said straightening Nate's tie.

"I could tell you had fallen for her, the night I saw you both at the Sheppard wedding said as much. While you were falling for Serena, I was falling for Blair.. it all worked itself out. So, don't doubt yourself or this, she'll be there" he smiled as he pulled down the sleeves of his jacket.

"Serena, you look so beautiful." Blair said with a slight tear in her eye. Looking at her best friend standing in the most beautiful white V-neck A-line lace applique long sleeved trailing wedding dress.

"Thanks B" she said admiring her dress in the mirror.

"You ready? Our car is waiting for us."

"I am," she said spinning around to look at Blair, "You look beautiful too B"

"Took you long enough" she playfully fired back smiling.

Holding out her hands, she handed Serena her bouquet and took her other as they walked out together.

Standing with the beautiful backdrop of the sea through the top to floor glass windows.

He looked at his watch nervously, "Nathaniel relax, if you pace anymore you'll be going through the floorboards. She'll be here."

"Mom!" screamed Henry as he ran over to Blair.

"Hey baby" she said bending down and giving him a massive hug and kiss on the cheek, "Do you remember what you have to do Henry?"

"Yep" he nodded and pulled out the rings in his hand.

"Good boy, okay so wait by Granma Lily for me okay?"

"Okay" he said running off towards her.

As the harp started to play, out came Serena arm in arm with her father William.

Turning around Nate looked eye to eye with Serena finally "wow" he said as his mouth curved into a huge smile. His heart skipped a beat as he felt some tears come to his eyes. She was honestly the most beautiful person he'd ever met and to be marrying her, honestly felt like all his dreams had all come true.

Blair followed soon after who had Chuck smiling like a Cheshire cat, a cheeky wink to Blair as she made eye contact with him made her blush and smile back. She glanced around to the small gathering of close family and friends. Lily, Rufus, Howard, Anne, Eric, Vanessa, Carter, Chloë, Penelope amongst a few other people.

As Serena meets Nate at the bottom she holds her hands out as he takes and kisses her right hand.

"Dearly beloved we are gathered here today…" Rang out as Nate was staring into Serena's eyes as they glistened under the fairy lights and candlelight.

As they stood there and holding one another's hands snow started to fall outside behind them.

Nate started his vows, "I've actually spent the last few days writing my vows, re-writing them again wondering if I had all the right words to say exactly how I feel about you. Now after seeing you walk down that aisle, it all became a lot clearer." He said taking the written vows out of the inside of his jacket and passing them to Chuck.

"It doesn't matter what fancy words I use, the meaning is all that matters. You are the most beautiful, amazing alive person I have ever known, and have loved you for a very, very long time." He said with a smirk.

"It's taken us a long time to get here but to be marrying you, after all the things we've been through, honestly I feel like the luckiest man alive"

"Nate you've been my best friend since we were little, a shoulder to cry on when I needed it, and someone who would drop everything to be there to protect me. I couldn't have got through the lowest moments of my life without you. I fall in love with you more and more every day, and to know I get to spend the rest of my life with you by my side fills me with so much.." she chocked as she started to tear up.

Wiping a fallen tear off her cheek he smiled trying not to shed some himself. "To be marrying you, becoming your wife and spending the rest of our lives together till we are old and grey, I never thought all my dreams would come true."

Getting a little nudge from Lily, Henry walked up to them both with the rings. Holding them out they both grabbed one another's rings.

"Thanks Henry, you look very handsome" Serena said leaning down and kissing his cheek.

"Thanks Henry" Nate smiled and held his hand out for a high five which he received before he ran off to sit back down next to Lily.

"Nathaniel Fitzwilliam Archibald do you take Serena Celia van der Woodsen to be your lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in heath, until death do you part"

"I do" he smiled, placing the wedding ring on her finger.

"Serena Celia van der Woodsen do you take Nathaniel Fitzwilliam Archibald to be your lawfully wedding husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in heath, until death do you part"

"Yes, I do" she smiled back placing the ring on his finger.

"I know pronounce you Husband and Wife, you may kiss the bride"

With a huge smile on both their faces, her hands went up and cupped his face as his hand slid behind her back and pulled her in close of a long passionate kiss, moving apart Nate whispered "I love you"

"I love you too" Serena whispered back.

"You look incredible"

"Don't look bad yourself Archibald" she teased.

"Thanks, Mrs Archibald" he smiled back as they finally moved slowly apart finally realising everyone was applauding.

Turning to Blair she flashed her ring "Ahhh can you believe it" she screamed as Blair pulled her in for a hug.

"Congratulations Nathaniel, about time" Chuck said shaking his hand before pulling him in for a hug.

Standing at the top table, after the three course meal and Chuck's hilarious yet brutal best mans speech, Nate stood up to say a few words "I would just like to say a few words from my wife and I" he smiled down at her.

"We would just like to thank you all for coming, I hope you all enjoy this evening. Here's to the rest of our lives together." He said leaning down and kissing her.

"To the bride and Groom" Chuck yelled out as everyone repeated and toasted to the happy couple.

Second time lucky, anyway..

Okay, so it's been far to many years to count since I last updated this story.

Not even sure if anyone will even be reading this still or even wanting an update.

So as an explanation i'm not sure why after this amount of time I decided to update this, I guess I don't like an unfinished story and given the fun everyone is having this year :) *covid sarcasm*

I thought why not? I've got a nice bit of drama planned if anyone wants more updates

So to finally get me back into the gossip girl or shall i said love for Chair mood 3

"I'm currently going through all the episodes on Netflix (on S3)

Random sidetone from my rewatch, god Dan was a dick?! How they ended up putting Serena with him I do not know.

Looking back i don't know how i liked them (them being Dan) back in Season 1..

Still should have been Rufus and Lily endgame

Vanessa deserved better and Carter and Georgina are amazing!

Anyway, drop me some feedback if anyone out there wants this to be continued x
