Hey guys sorry for the delay! Due to school I didn't have the same time to write as I usually do. The truth is that I actually typed this chapter up a bit recently as I'm in my final year of teacher's college. However, as we get closer to the Christmas months, I'll have more free time, not to mention that I'll be used to the workload this time around, so my second semester should be a bit less constricting for time.

Ultimate Weapon Chapter 14: Time for a Road trip

Event: Gang Wars (Part 2)

Jaune rubbed his ears in annoyance at all the noise that he was surrounded with. He was sitting beside Nora, who was doing nothing to help with all the joyous yelling, and watching a Hockey game. When Junior told them that Senator Pride might be attacked Ozpin had attempted to get a full protection detail on her, huntsmen and all. It was supposed to be simple.

It was far from but.

"Watch it weirdo!"

Jaune sighed as he let another bystander bump past him. He was sitting. As one could tell from Jaune's disgruntled expression, he was close to losing his temper.

"The only weirdo is you dick!"

Jaune's expression lost its bite as Nora glared at the retreating patron.

"So this is Moro Stadium" muttered Jaune.

"Yup!" said Nora with a pop "Biggest sports stadium in Vale apparently! Find it hard to believe anyone would want to attack it though."

"Junior doesn't lie" sighed Jaune "just wish the others were here."

Nora shrugged.

"Renny hasn't exactly been uh….up to service. Pyrrha couldn't come here even if she wanted to, paparazzi be all over her here. I think team RWBY wasn't even supposed to know about this stuff. Apparently, Ozpin doesn't trust their ability to keep things to themselves".

Jaune rolled his eyes. He remembered hearing about that little misadventure. Blake went missing or something. He honestly didn't pay that much attention to it since he truly didn't care. But apparently some property damage occurred and words were exchanged. But Jaune could understand it at least. Neither were wrong after all. Team RWBY couldn't exactly trust Ozpin to treat Blake well but Ozpin didn't appreciate the fact that team RWBY kept the fact that Blake was an ex-terrorist from him. It was true that Ozpin knew from the start but it was the principle of the matter. He detested allowing children to preform any huntsmen tasks aside from specific curriculum missions. Team JNPR was becoming a solid exception to that rule for a few reasons this evening.

"Can't believe Ren got hurt last night."

Nora giggled a bit as she awkwardly looked to the side.

"The man must have tangoed like no other" continued Jaune.

Nora's blush increased.

"The only man I know to have cracked his pelvis. Truly, a man of many talents."

Nora gulped as a giddy giggle left her mouth.

"OH YEA! Ren and his dancing games you know!"

Jaune stared at Nora, his blank expression telling all. The woman was still limping, albeit barely.

"You're really going to stick with that?"

Nora beamed as her face turned cherry red.

"I can literally SMELL what you did."

"Yup!" smiled Nora "all that sweat from the arcade am I right!"

Jaune stared at her. Nora stared at him.

"….You broke him didn't you."

"….No" muttered Nora.

"….Jesus Christ" murmured Jaune "at least the man looked like he almost died happy."

Jaune remembered that moment Ren came limping into the room last night. His face set in the stoic position of a man that had preformed above the call of duty. Nora's hair was a mess, her face twisted in the bask of euphoric bliss. Only an idiot wouldn't know what they did. Jaune was happy for them, but he found it weird how Nora kept spinning these random tales.

Especially since Ren outright admitted that the girl dragged him to a hotel the second Ozpin contacted them to relax for the night. The poor guy texted him from the hotel bed that Nora dumped him on. Some conversations were kept between men in this instance.

"You're an odd woman. You know that right?"

"YUP!" smiled Nora "normal is boring anyways!"

Jaune smiled and shook his head.

"Notice anything on your last snack run?"

Nora shook her head. Pity but at least Jaune learned that Nora could eat like nothing else. There had been four snack runs in this one game.

"Looked everywhere but nothing. If they're here than they're hiding either in the stands or somewhere else. OH COME ON THAT WAS A PENALTY!"

Nora used her enhanced strength and chucked her popcorn at the ref. The poor man dodged with practiced ease as he looked around. He shouted something but the sheer distance made knowing what he said unknown. Perhaps Jaune may have heard it if he wasn't surrounded by such noise. Jaune smiled as he watched the teams' line back up. The sound of skates, the slapping of the puck…oh yes…

There was no game like Hockey.

"You look like you're enjoying yourself" smiled Nora cheekily.

Jaune smirked as he got up.

"I've always enjoyed hockey. Usually with a whiskey and a smoke. I can do without all the noise though."

Nora snickered as Jaune sighed. The noise wasn't that bad, it was tolerable. The issue was that Jaune was hitting the peak of his tolerance. Enough to be annoying but not necessarily painful.

"Your mom almost killed you that time she saw you with that cigar!"

Jaune stared into space as the memory resurfaced. It was during their two weeks break that Jaune and his team went around the city. He had gotten a package of his favorite smokes from junior while they were out. During their walk he decided to enjoy one for a time. He was at the time a bit of ways away from the others. They didn't enjoy smoking like he did so he didn't want them to have smoke hitting them in the face while they walked. Suddenly he could feel it. His hair raising on the back of his neck. A familiar chill of the intent to kill. An attack was imminent.

Jaune had turned to face his attacker only for his mother to appear and rip his cigar from his mouth. The glare she gave was so intense that Jaune was sure his heart stopped. Twice. She allowed him to continue drinking but the cigar had to go. Jaune attempted to remind her that he was a healing miracle and as such cancer and kidney failure was impossible but…well…

You don't screw with mom.

Jaune smiled as he closed his eyes. If he had to quit smoking to ensure he had a good time with his family than fine.

Besides he could just smoke it at juniors or any seedy bar he could find.

Jaune decided to get back on the job. He looked around the stadium and noticed the V.I.P section. Sitting in the booth were several men in suits and a woman with her child. The woman was dressed rather casually while the seemingly 8-9-year-old child sat in her mother's lap. The girl seemed despondent to the whole ordeal. But to Jaune's surprise the mother seemed well aware of it as she attended to her daughter. His superior vision wasn't enough to read lips but he could learn a lot from what body language he could read. Jaune took notice of the infrastructure of the building as well. It was different than most hockey rinks that Jaune knew of. Usually they were sealed but in this case the entire building seemed adaptable to alter its environment. Currently it was an ice rink with a few rather odd design choices. An openable roof, some really nice seats, and the fact that this game was happening so deep into the fall. As far as Jaune was aware this was still football season. It wasn't until the December-January months that hockey started in Vale.

"Damnit. Pyrrha would have been effective here. So much metal for her to use" observed Jaune.

Nora shrugged.

"Pyrrha would have been swamped."

Jaune scowled.

"I know. I'm just saying."

"….Aww did you want to spend time with her" teased Nora.

Jaune shrugged.

"I'm more concerned about the woman and her daughter. If Pyrrha were here I knew she'd be able to manipulate the stadium if necessary. The whole thing seems adjustable to expand and shrink back."

Why someone would spend so much money to make a "universal" stadium for all sports was just odd to Jaune. But hey if rich people wanted to blow their money like that than by all means. Nora gave Jaune a silly smile as she obviously didn't believe him. Jaune really didn't care all that much. However, there was a topic they needed to discuss.

"So, what do we know about them?" asked Jaune.

Nora looked confused for a minute before she took a shot in the wind.

"Uh…if you mean the senator than not much. Her husband died like three weeks ago from a random mugging."

"Not a chance that was random."

"No, but that's what the police reported."

Jaune turned to Nora.

"Seems a little…bare."

Contrary to what some may believe Nora actually had an excellent memory. While she didn't bother in class Jaune had discovered that Nora, in all her chaotic glory, was an academic hack. Her semblance, the ability to absorb electricity and enhance herself, did more than just increase her strength. It enhanced every aspect of Nora. Her reaction time, speed, eyesight. Everything someone could think of Nora got a boost for. As such whenever it came time to crunch for an exam or an assignment Nora would absorb a lightning dust and than proceed to memorize every textbook they had assigned. While her overall intelligence remained unaffected, her ability to absorb and retain information was greatly increased. As such her knowledge was immense…even if most of it was useless information. Simply put, Nora had memorized every piece of documentation regarding that incident that she could get her hands on through the help of Ozpin.

"…You think it's the F.O.H?"

Nora nodded.

"Got my money on them for sure. They got the money to fudge with the police reports and are stupid enough to go after the husband of a beloved politician. I mean the White Fang are nuts and all but they attack for a reason. Not really getting the same vibe from the friends of douches. Guys seem all over the place. Attacking you attacking her…I just wish we knew what their end goal was."

Jaune snorted as he turned his attention to the roof of the stadium. He narrowed his eyes at the fact that the stadium's roof was opened. The clear blue sky of the autumn months was truly apparent…in the middle of a hockey game.

"…Why is the roof opened?" asked Jaune.

Nora blinked and looked up.

"It's opened so what?"

"I mean why though? We're not cold enough for hockey yet. Hell no one has to wear jackets today as it's pretty warm."

Nora narrowed her eyes as she stood up.

"….My guy is telling me somethings up."

"Was it the popcorn?" muttered Jaune.

"….maybe" grunted Nora "but now that you mentioned the roof it is weird that it's open. I'm going to check on the…uh?"

"Master control room?"

"Pretty sure it's called something else but yea that place."

Jaune got up as well, ignoring the annoyed fan behind him.

"I'll check the roof."

"Really?"

"Can't take any chances" said Jaune "the police restricted huntsman from attending. Said they didn't want a panic."

Nora looked like someone hit the stupid button and stared at Jaune.

"I'm not kidding" he grumbled.

"….but…huntsmen don't even have professional uniforms?"

"I think Atlas does?" muttered Jaune.

Nora shrugged.

"Not the point!" she chuckled "…this all reeks."

"Tell me about it. Ozpin's been going nuts over the correspondence he's dug up. He's trying to find inconsistencies or something. Probably gonna call you to speed read the whole thing."

Nora groaned. When Ozpin had discovered her little trick, he had dropped his coffee mug. It was his suggestion that they used Nora's ability more often in their missions and gave Nora temporary access to the police files regarding any incidents with the Pride family.

"I just wanna fight the dude and call it a day!"

Jaune snorted. Nora had not been impressed with the added responsibilities.

"Wish it was like a comic book. Just fight the bad guy and everything was alright."

The two sighed in acceptance of their task. Nothing was ever easy.

"At least we got the police captain for this" said Nora "dude said something about apprehending the supposed terrorists already as his reason for not patrolling."

Jaune nodded.

"The bastards that attacked me and my sister. A distraction. If anything, that should be putting the police in high alert."

"…. Wasn't there a senator guy that's funding those F.O.H weirdoes? Probably paid the police off."

"Maybe" grunted Jaune "For once I'm hoping Junior is wrong. But…"

"I gotcha"

Jaune smiled and nodded at Nora. Nora may not have been per say the uh…sharpest tool in the shed but her instincts were sharp. Sharper than anyone Jaune knew. That included himself. If her gut was telling her something was off than that usually meant there was. Jaune may have noticed the roof but that was simply because he found it odd. A thing to look into in a day that seemed perfect.

"Sucks Ozpin couldn't come" muttered Nora "bet he could have wormed his way into that VIP room."

"Apparently the work load of a headmaster is not to be underestimated" muttered Jaune.

Nora shrugged and made her way to try and find the control room. She flipped off the guy that was yelling at her for blocking his view. Jaune smiled and rolled his eyes as he found a good spot to start climbing.

However, before Jaune moved he noticed something in the distance. Jaune blinked as he stared.

"Is that?"

-Eight Minutes Later-

Getting access to the stair way was easy. Terrifyingly easy. All Jaune had to do was find the door and viola, he was taking the stairs up. He noticed the lack of cameras as he walked through the stairs. Jaune scowled. There were too many openings to take advantage of in this kind of space and far too many blindspots. While there was no activity to suggest well…anything that didn't mean something wasn't happening.

Junior's information was always good. The worst that Jaune had ever received from his good friend was information that was incomplete. Like a base sub level being omitted or something of that nature. The F.O.H would attack…but the method was currently unknown. If Jaune was a betting man though…it would come from the sky. Why else would the sky roof of the stadium be opened? The amount of energy that was being wasted just keeping the temperature stable would be significant enough to close it up. Yet, it was open.

However, as Jaune crossed the final door, there was nothing. The rafters were completely cleared for the moment. It was possible there was bombs but that was something that would take an in-depth look for. Not to mention that most bombs had timers or had sounds coming from the receivers. It was possible that a model Jaune couldn't hear was in use but that was military grade Atlas tech and difficult to come by.

"….hmmm" growled Jaune.

He looked up at the stormy cloud and narrowed his eyes. The clouds were bleak and heavy with water. He could practically smell the unfallen rain.

"….There's a reason this thing is open."

How Jaune would have loved to have Pyrrha here or even Ozpin. Either one of them would have been able to begin closing the stadium right at this moment and close off an avenue of attack. The stadiums roof was famously reinforced so as to become a bunker in the worst-case scenario. A normal bullhead would never puncture it would standard ammunition and payloads…if that was what was happening.

"….Why this senator…" muttered Jaune.

Jaune was walking through the rafters and inspecting the beams. For the life of him Jaune couldn't figure it out. He knew that Kelly was worried about his standing. He had tried to become the leader of Vale while Jaune was in the vault. He failed horribly. While Senator Kelly had a strong political base the voting of Vale was counted individually, not by sector. As such Kelly was shown first hand how abysmally people saw him when he had lost to his opponent by a solid 80%. At the moment Senator Pride had gained a massive following but it wasn't a threat to Kelly's current position. The current president of Vale was a sickly elderly man who had just been outed for corruption. As such there was a rush for another election. Kelly had thrown his hand in immediately but Jaune thought him a fool for it. The man already lost in the last election and from what Jaune could understand was the least popular politician in Vale. He had his hands in many businesses and as such was wealthy to the level that the Schnee's were his peer. Yet the practices that made him wealthy and gave him allies also made him unpopular in the public opinion. Nothing extreme but enough that people didn't like him. He was also a blatant racist, so there was that. Second was the method. Why here in a stadium of all places? Senator Kelly wanted to effectively run Vale…so why attack the people you wanted to rule in the first place? Couldn't he have just sent the F.O.H to attack this woman in her home or in the streets?

"Killing Senator Pride has no value" muttered Jaune "unless there's something I'm not seeing? Wait…what if this has nothing to do with Kelly?"

Possible but highly unlikely. Before Jaune could contemplate further the rafters began to shake a little bit, the wires holding the support beginning to shake. Jaune gripped the frame's rails to steady himself and looked up. The sound of helicopter blades echoed through the air and Jaune narrowed his eyes. He watched a helicopter fly by but sighed in relief. It was the news copter, the one that always flew around Vale for the "News" and Grimm sightings. It was more a military vehicle than anything, hence the strength of the wind. It was flying unusually close to the stadium though. Jaune's ears twitched though.

"…..Is that a?"

BOOOOM!

An explosion ripped through the air as the helicopter exploded into shrapnel. The force of the blow was enough that Jaune, who was several dozen meters away, had the wind ripping at his face. Pieces of the plane were shot forward and shattered through his weak aura. Jaune coughed some blood as several pieces pierced his heart and lungs. People were screaming below him as the helicopter's corpse made its way down. As it began to draw near the stadium Jaune scowled. He prepared to jump but suddenly found the rafters he was on loosing stability. He looked to the left and saw that a helicopter blade and sheared through the cable lines.

"NORA!" yelled Jaune.

The helicopter's flaming wreckage screamed past him. A loud bang was heard as maniacal laughter echoed through the stadium. Jaune watched stupefied as Nora jumped up, lighting arcing around her, and caught the flaming helicopter with her bear hands. She landed in the center of the ice, cratering a portion of the stadium. Nora slid back on the ice and the helicopter landed on her. It exploded a second time in fire.

The people slowed down, watching.

"I'M OK!" yelled Nora.

She had punched through the helicopter's door and grinned while she stood upon the flaming wreckage. Electricity arced all around her as some people took photos. She was supercharged to a degree that her eyes had turned blue for a time.

"We're all ok!" some people yelled.

The people cheered and Nora never lost her smile.

"Might be a good idea that we all evacuate yea!" stated Nora

She looked at the sky and saw Jaune climbing up the broken rafters. Good. She would need to catch up at some point. The people took priority though until help arrived. Nora looked to the VIP box and blinked. It was already empty. Yet, the entire top floor and no one running around. It had only been a minute since she had caught the plane. Nora narrowed her eyes at the sound of several pops but thought nothing of it.

"help".

Nora jerked at the sound again.

"HELP!"

Nora jumped off the helicopter and ran towards a woman in her late thirties. She was dressed in a conservative business suit and her brown hair was done in a pony tail. She was running towards the rink but not towards Nora. She seemed after something.

"They took her!"

"Who?" asked Nora.

"They took my daughter!"

"…..Senetor Pride?" asked Nora.

The woman nodded. She was wearing a pink blouse with a pair of black jeans and running shoes. She was a pretty woman but stress seemed to have drained her down recently and now was no different.

"…"

Nora looked up and noticed that there was a massive dust place now hovering the open stadium. The bottom opened up and shot down an odd cylinder compartment. It slammed in front of Nora and opened up, revealing a massive bomb.

"….Ok what the actual fuck?" muttered Nora.

This was insane! What kind of human extremist group attacks a bunch of humans!? Well….Nora hilariously had one extremely effective way of dealing with bombs. Nora grinned as she walked towards it. Who knew that Beacon's education would actually come in handy? One of the classes dealt with understanding what resources as huntsmen were available to them. One of them was affectionally referred to as the "Valkyrie" a weapon designed for eliminating large stores of Grimm through the use of pulse technology combined with blue dust. The only reason Nora had bothered retaining the information was because the weapon shared her name. She always kept a few dust crystals on her for various reasons…and no that wasn't the reason why Ren was broken…much. Nora whistled as she walked to it and placed her hand on the screen. She delicately punctured the glass screen and absorbed all the electricity within the bomb, killing the trigger and the dust within as they were drained of energy.

"WHOO!" muttered Nora "now that's a rush!"

Nora's eyes were sparking as she held more energy than she had ever had in her life. She felt invincible. A group of people began parachuting into the stadium, their uniforms completely black and devoid of identification of any kind. It was a ghost squad, one without "connections" to any government or movement. Or at least that's what these losers probably thought. It was obvious that they were F.O.H. Especially since their guns had the…symbol…on it.

Nora wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed but if she was a terrorist trying not to have connections, she wouldn't put her damn group symbol on her guns. Something stank and it wasn't her.

"Huh….guess Jaune will have to wait."

Either way these fools needed a beating. Nora grinned as she slammed her fists together. The shockwave that echoed from the impact shook the air. Nora turned to the senator behind her and scowled.

"I'd help find your daughter but at the moment we got company. Can you find a safe place? We can search once we're safe."

Senator Kelly swallowed and nodded. She looked up and around the stadium, trying to see if she could find the people that took her child. She retreated into the stadium, intent on looking for Katherine.

"…Or just run into the stands that works too" muttered Nora.

"Huntsmen found. New target added…moving for elimination."

Nora rolled her eyes and faced the now dozen or so men that had their guns trained on her.

"….alright…eenie meenie minee you!"

Nora destroyed the ground beneath her as she moved. The first person she struck was sent flying into the wall, entombed within it as their conscience was forcibly ripped from them. Nora laughed as she duck under bullets and quickly dashed to three more people, taking them out. The ice proved no issue for Nora, who was using her strength to make her fly across the laugh, laughing all the way.

"STOP HER!" yelled a soldier.

"I'M FUCKING TRYING-ACK!"

Nora grabbed this soldier and proceeded to Supplex him so hard that his head was buried into the ice. Nora flipped around and used the poor man's ass as a spring board to jump forward. The force was enough to rip the man clean out of the ice and for Nora to shoulder charge yet another soldier into the opposing wall. The two closest to him were smacked away with two thrusts from each of Nora's arms. Nora picked up one guy and hurled him into another group of people shooting her. The resulting collision echoed through the screaming stadium with a bang.

"I AM NORA!"

Nora was chuckling but she knew that her current state was temporary. She needed to be faster. Not to mention there was a missing child. Was kidnapping really worth all this? What the actual hell was going on? The bomb must have been fake, for why bother shoving a bomb into a building after people had left? Unless the building was the target?

"Ah who cares!" roared Nora "I'll figure it out after. Now get over here!"

"OH GOD NO! HAVE MERCY!"

"PROTECT ME CONE!"

Nora laughed at these supposed soldiers. It was kind of obvious they were lacking in mental discipline. Nora wasn't anywhere near a fully fledged huntsman. This meant a lack of experience. However, as she looked at their gear even Nora could tell they were high level stuff or at the very least looked the part. The bullets even stung when they hit her, even in her empowered state. Due to the nature of her semblance Nora's usual aura protection was reduced, as most of her semblance took her aura to properly function. In return Nora's body became dense enough to withstand bullets! As she just found out!

"…I'm coming Jaune."

"NO!"

Nora turned her head, ignoring the bullets impacting her skull. Senator Pride had her hand outstretched towards a man with a child. The child was thrashing against the man but due to aura it was annoying at best. He whispered something in her ear and the child went slack. The man seemed to click something on his clamp he was using on the cord and was now going quickly back into the dust plane.

Nora ignored the motley crew before her and with all her strength jumped up. As she got closer, she noticed that the man was wearing a costume. It was entirely black and covered his whole body and masked his face. He had a belt and numerous throwing weapons strapped to his body. Nora was closing in fast but the man turned to her and grinned. His face was obscured by a mask that had a bullseye on it.

"Not today sweetheart!"

The man's machine beeped and the lights turned red. Suddenly he surged up faster than before and Nora missed him by a few inches.

"Good effort but no!" chuckled Bullseye.

"YOUR COSTUMES RETARDAAAAAAAAAADED!" yelled Nora as she fell.

Bullseyes eyes went dark as shadows covered his face.

"….I'm gonna kill that bitch" he growled.

No one made fun of his damn suit!

"Fuck what I do for money" he muttered.

The child looked down at her mother sadly. Bullseye rolled his eyes at the woman's incessant screaming. He heard a thump hitting the side of the ship but ignored it. He was payed to get the girl after all. What happened after wasn't in his contract. Speaking of which it might be best to parachute out rather than land with them. The ship began to move away and into the distance. Senator Pride was on her knees gripping herself with tears in her eyes.

"THIS IS THE POLI! Senator Pride are you alright?"

Nora grunted as she climbed out of the hole she made when she landed. She felt more drained than usual but for the most part was combat ready. She had dealt with the remaining "soldiers" rather easily.

"Freeze!" yelled the officer.

"Oh put a sock in it!" yelled Nora as she finished punching the last man "where the hell were you guys!?"

The officer sputtered.

"I got the call seconds ago and drove through traffic to get here? What happened?"

Nora blinked at the man and the serious demeanor he carried. A few of his fellow officers were rushing to get people out from under some rubble, others were rushing to assist as many people out of the stadium. Yet, to Nora's still keen eyes, she noticed a few whose expression seemed to be sated or content.

"….We got attacked."

"M….MY DAUGHTER" sniffled the senator.

"….Oh no" muttered the officer.

Nora looked up and narrowed her eyes. She hadn't seen Jaune yet.

"Knowing him he followed them."

Nora kept this thought to herself though. She didn't want to give false hope. Nora took out her phone and dialed for Ren.

"Hey Ren how you doin sweetie? Yea….yeeaaaa. We uh….kind of got….oh….it's on T.V already? Damn that was quick…right…..ok…..Ozpin did what?"

"Ozpin is already here."

Nora screamed like a child and turned around to see Ozpin standing behind her with a smile.

"Hello Nora."

A police officer jerked back in awe.

"Ozpin? The headmaster of Beacon?"

Senator Kelly looked up and her eyes shone. The headmaster of Beacon was here.

"Senator Kelly" sighed Ozpin "I am here to offer my full support. I assure you I already have a student tracking your daughter."

Nora rose an eyebrow.

"Did Jaune?"

Ozpin smiled. The senator was now ripping into the first police officer right now, causing the poor man to hold his hands up and stammer. They wouldn't hear them right now.

"Oh yes. He attacked the dust ship and attached himself to it. When it lands…Jaune will attack. However, we have a problem."

Ozpin turned to the officers that now surrounded him.

"Officers of Vale. The dust ship that has left has cloaking technology native to Atlas. It has avoided every sensor that we have and has moved faster than any commercial flight vehicle that's available. That is not something that is cheap nor easy to obtain. In fact, it shouldn't be accessible to the general public whatsoever."

A detective came through the crowd, a woman that wore a dress shirt and pants. Her blonde hair enhanced her piercing eyes.

"We are well aware" she said.

She nodded to her coworker and sent him off. She turned her attention to Ozpin.

"There's only so many people that can get that kind of tech. We've had suspicions that the F.O.H have a backer. This might just lead us to whoever that was."

Ozpin rose an eyebrow.

"Don't be surprised" muttered the detective "we've known things were fishy. I was here already helping and there is not a chance those soldiers were anything but F.O.H"

"What gave it away?" asked Ozpin.

"They were organized and too sloppy, a trade mark for these guys. They got all the technology of a military. They're organized like one to. Their soldiers though…they're just normal people who get swept up in all their racist crap. I just wished I knew who their supporter was. Not a chance that someone like Graydon Creed was capable of this on his own. Guy's charismatic but he's also a nut."

Ozpin stilled.

"Creed?" he thought.

It was possible that Victor was related to him but that was…no Victor was a Faunus and Graydon was a racist of an almost unprecedented level. Still…a possible lead. Ozpin wasn't convinced that this was F.O.H though. Sure, like the detective said, the parts fit. The question was if the parts were for this puzzle in particular? The F.O.H had no reason, ideologically anyways, to attack a human mother and daughter. There was more to this…especially since a man in a bullseye suit was apparently a part of this. If it was who Ozpin thought it was…that man didn't come cheap and more importantly was as crazy as they come.

"Why are you all so calm!?" demanded the senator.

Ozpin spoke in before the Senator could really start screaming.

"Miss Pride. You are aware of my reputation correct?"

The woman begrudgingly nodded.

"One of my students who was…enjoying the event has intercepted the dust plane. He is with her now."

The senator blinked.

"He…he is?"

Ozpin nodded.

"Him and his teammate Nora here."

The ginger waved and smiled.

"Were here to enjoy hockey much like everyone else. They both contacted me the second this incident occurred, hence my timely arrival. I am sorry that I did not arrive here sooner."

Considering that the distance between Vale's sport center and Beacon proper was hours by dust plane, the fact the headmaster made it within the ten or so minutes since the whole thing started…well…

"No I'm sorry It.."

"No" stated Ozpin firmly "never apologize for worrying about your daughter. Her safety is your biggest concern not the pretenses of politeness."

Ozpin turned to the detective.

"You know exactly why this came to pass."

The woman before them nodded and sighed.

"We've been building a case against Captain Hoover for the last six months. When he told us not to take the bomb threat seriously, we knew something was up. Suspicious or not he didn't even call the stadium…damnit we should have just ignored him."

Ozpin knew the detective was truthful, even as the senator began to rip into her. The detective was worried about her job and had suspicions that all her fellow colleagues that had been killed in action were in fact offed by their very commanding officer. The threat of her life and occupation had kept her quiet. Ozpin closed his eyes, a green glow surrounding his body. Glynda wasn't going to like this.

"JAUNE! CAN YOU HEAR ME!"

Ozpin expanded his thoughts and sent them towards his wayward student. He needed details on what was happening. What he found was both reassuring…and worrisome.

"GRK!"

SCREECH!

Jaune grunted as his claws tore through most of the wing on this dustplane. It was bigger than the commercial models and Beacon's drop ships. When Jaune had noticed the ship simply hanging in the air he knew his troubles had just begun. His wounds had already healed over and below him he noticed that Nora was already wrecking havoc. Without a second thought Jaune used his enhanced legs to jump and latch right onto the wing. At first glance it was a solid idea. Once Jaune was securely latched onto the plane he would be able to follow it whereever he went with Ozpin's mental power following him the entire way. Except.

SCREECH!

"DAMNIT!" grumbled Jaune.

Jaune twisted his invincible claws so as the edge was sideways. The unfortunate side effect of having unbreakable bone blades was that said blades could cut through almost anything. The razor edge was so fine that it allowed Jaune to cut through even the most durable metal with little worry. As such the dust plane's wings held no resistance to Jaune's added weight applying pressure to the blades. In short…he was slipping as his claws tore through the wing. Every jump of turbulence put Jaune another couple of inches from sliding off.

"SON OF A BIT-"

Another baby nevermore smashed into Jaune's face. The force was enough to make Jaune slide back even more. The plane beneath Jaune was entirely invisible at the moment. If he got dislodged it meant that he would never find it by sight. He could track it by scent, true, but that created the issue of time and whether he would make it to intercept whatever was happening with this kid.
"I still don't get it" thought Jaune "why go through all this trouble? What's the point in bringing this kind of heat down on you?"

Money in the end could buy you a lot. You could get prestige, homes, and a lot of material things. It could also free you from the law and grant you freedoms you may have never considered. It was also a trap, at least to Jaune. If senator Kelly thought that killing this political opponent and kidnapping her daughter was going to accomplish something, it wasn't. Contrary to how comics work in this world, people were not stupid. It could take years, true, but the rumors alone could cause some business trouble. Money was more liquid than stone, one screw up in finances and you could literally lose it all. The sharks in that sea of money would rip apart any billionaire if given the opening. After all, everyone wanted money. So, Kelly going after this woman's daughter, a woman who had a clear antagonistic relationship with the man, was just plain stupid. Which got Jaune thinking….it might not have been Kelly.

"…..I hate myself just thinking that" muttered Jaune.

But Kelly had done some questionable stuff in the past. The man thought he had it all and could get away with all. As such he could have orchestrated all of this…or none of it. Jaune scowled as yet another baby nevermore smashed into his skull. Jaune's eyes shimmered in pure rage as another one tried to suicide bomb him. This time Jaune ripped his claw out of the wing and got the sucker as he slammed back down. He was now nearing the edge of the wing but Jaune regretted nothing. Now that he was further down Jaune could tell that this wasn't normal tech. Normally any invisible ships had a…shimmer if you will. A small blip of energy in the dust arrays that made up the cloaking. But this ship? There wasn't even a damn sprinkle in terms of openings. It was too perfect…which meant big money was involved to get this kind of thing…it couldn't be Atlas…it must have been…

"Stark tech" muttered Jaune.

Stark industries. The home of all thing's innovation and amazing. It was a conglomerate of many smaller companies merging into one banner, thus transforming Vacuo into a super power over night. Hank Pym, Hank McCoy, Reed Richards, Helen Cho, Susan Richards, and numerous others were all small companies that had partnered with Tony Stark in a bid to keep their independence. Each of them was seeking Asylum from the war machine that was Atlas and joined Tony and his than average company "Stark Tech". Through their combined intelligence and that of the many unnamed but equally brilliant scientists and engineers, Stark Industries had become a world leader in innovation. If there was any place on Remnant that could have cloaking technology like this than it was only Stark Industries…and industries that had gone on the news about several break ins by some douche named….Towan?

"No the name has to be Roman right?" thought Jaune.

"GRRK!"

Jaune slipped even further down the as his claws tore through more of it. Jaune breathed a sigh of relief as he felt the wind pressure on his back beginning to lessen. His ears popped and felt himself go forward.

"Finally we're landing" muttered Jaune.

As the ship leaned forward Jaune's claws began to slowly cut through the wings again, this time going up.

"…..Fuck" muttered Jaune.

The reason Jaune had been on the wing in the first place was simple. If he claws the ship itself the resulting pressure, should he cut through that, may very well kill most of the people in there…

Ok fine he got stuck on the wing.

Jaune closed his eyes as he began to stand up, the ship righting itself as it began to land. Jaune took a quick observation of his surroundings and frowned. He was in a forest…deep within a forest. There was no beaten path, no meadows, no anything. Merely a strip large enough for this ship.

"This was planned" thought Jaune "they wanted to land here."

Jaune turned around and licked his teeth. The buildings of Vale were nowhere to be found, even at this elevation.

"Quick ship isn't it" muttered Jaune.

The F.O.H was getting more dangerous than ever it would seem. As the ship finally landed Jaune hugged the top of the ship and sighed in relief as the cloaking removed itself. There was not a single window or reflective surface on this entire thing. It was shaped like a standard bullhead, if a little sleeker. The lack of windows was probably why Jaune wasn't thrown off the ship with barrel rolls or something like that. With a hiss the bottom of the ship opened up with a ramp and the sounds of struggle could be heard.

"Enough of that Greg".

This voice was light, cowardly even. It sounded like it was from someone that was young.

"Kid you know why we're here. Don't make this harder than it has to be."

"What do you mean? Greg…."

Jaune scuffled closer and noticed that there seemed to be a group leaving the ship. They all wore discreet black uniforms that were reminiscient of the F.O.H. Yet, as Jaune looked at them, he knew for a fact they were not a part of that group. For starters…the big one holding the girl had ram horns.

"Fuck I hate these jobs" muttered Greg "but damn it if those racist bastards don't pay good."

A skinny man, well built and carrying a firearm, stood in front of Greg.

"Greg…what did you do?"

"What I had to!" growled the Faunus "we can't be too squeamish about this."

"All….did all of you agree to this?"

Jaune rose an eyebrow at what was happened. Before Jaune could move the smaller man grabbed the child from Greg and held her close.

"We agreed to kidnap this child for those bastards and that I could return her home! I DID NOT AGREE TO THIS!"

Greg sighed.

"Arthur…I swear to fuck if you were not a teleporter, I would kill you myself. Don't you remember…you owe me."

The man shivered which considering his armor shouldn't have been possible to notice.

"I know…..I know. But-"

Greg grunted.

"Good. Not many people would take in a mutie like you. So stop being a little brat…and hand me the girl."

The man looked at the child…and than stepped back. The world seemed to shift as space collapsed on him…until a collar sparked with electricity and he crumbled to the ground shaking horribly.

"Fucking dumbass" muttered Greg.

The others seemed uncaring at what happened to their teammate. Jaune saw red as the man pushed a button and the convulsing mutant shake even more, a soundless scream tearing through his throat.

"….No use for someone that doesn't listen" muttered Greg.
The poor girl sat there staring at Greg, her face expressionless and devoid of life. Greg made to move for his gun, only to stare as a large shadow began pooling around the girl.

"What the!"

Greg dodged to the left, making Jaune miss completely. However, Jaune cut the collar around the mutant as best as he could. The man sighed a breath of relief as his he blinked his eyes. Opened. Jaune was enthralled for a moment, the eyes looking like the night sky.

"KILL THE FUCKER AND SHOOT THE KID!"

Jaune wrapped his arms around Katherine pride and this man and shielded them with his body as best he could.

His aura held for a moment at least enough for Jaune to ehar Katherine mutter one thing.
"Everyone always dies" she muttered.

Katherine sighed as watched the bullets tear through Jaune. Jaune stared at her, blood leaking from his mouth. His eyes began to shimmer, a primal rage echoing into his heart. A child…they would KILL a child? For what? Money? They would kill their co-worker over…what? Decency?

"Just like dad" muttered Katherine.

"Kid."

Katherine jumped under Jaune, her eyes widening a bit. She watched as some of his torn skin knitted back together.

"Close your eyes.

"JAUNE WAIT STOP!"

Jaune ignored Ozpin. This was different. This was not the rage of a berserker. This was a man that watched someone try to do the unspeakable.

"Did we get him?"

Jaune began to breath, a mist escaping his mouth. Ozpin's voice was quiet…no…he was ignoring it. There were somethings that should never be done. There were somethings that needed to be done.

Today. The cage was loose and for once?

Jaune didn't care.

He raised his head, his eyes darting around. Time seemed to slow as he looked at them. There were four of them, one was near the ship, another two behind Greg, and the big man himself. Three of them were reloading while Greg was switching his weapon. Jaune's muscles bulged as they tore from the strain, his healing factor and adrenaline allowing Jaune to force past his usual limits. The Berserker rage that made him so famous amongst the White Fang was now unleashed once more. Greg blinked and Jaune was before him.

"Dumbass we have au-GRKK"

Jaune roared as his claws ejected with a SNICKT. He rammed both hands into Greg's stomach and lifted his straight off the ground. He reared back, stabbing through Greg a few times through the chest and stomach. He hurled the corpse at one of the shocked soldiers and darted to the left. He quickly stabbed into the throat of soldier and dashed towards the one in the ship. The man fumbled and shot at Jaune. A bullet tore through his eye, another through his throat, and a few in the chest. His aura had long since broken under the hail of bullets but that didn't matter. The wounds healed before the solider and the man whimpered. He didn't get to speak.

He wasn't allowed to.

Jaune swiped at him and the man's head rolled to the floor. The final soldier stood. He thought distance would save him. That the money was all his. Jaune leaped from the ships ramp and flew across the battlefield. He landed on the final nameless soldier and pierced his heart and lungs. The force of his landing made the two skid across the field for a time, spreading his blood across the grass.

Jaune kept breathing and his eyes lost their primal sheen as he stood. He spat on the corpse as he stood up, leaving it for whatever Nature required.

Or the Grimm. Hopefully the rumor that they ate your soul was true.

Bastards.

Jaune turned to Katherine Pride and swallowed. It never ended well when he murd-

"You didn't die."

….well that was new.

"uh…no" muttered Jaune.

"You didn't die like daddy did."

"…" Jaune remained silent and walked towards Katherine. The blood on his arms didn't seem to bother her…
"….You watched him die…didn't you" whispered Jaune.

Katherine's lip wobbled a bit as she nodded.

"….why weren't you afraid?" asked Jaune "most people would be pissing their pants at the sight of a gun trained on them?"

Katherine stood up and walked towards Jaune. Jaune stepped back a bit and was about to catch the kid when she decided to jump at him. She was in his arms and than…gone. He turned around and noticed that Katherine had walked right through him.

"….The bullets would have passed through you?" muttered Jaune "than why did you not run?"

The girl shivered.

"The man said he'd shoot mommy."

Jaune rose an eyebrow.

"Stick with me kid" said Jaune "hopefully we can get back soon."

Katherine watched the last of Jaune's wounds seal up. There was no mark. Just perfect skin. It reminded her of the stories that her dad would tall her at night. He had a favorite saying.

"Don't you know kitten! Heroes never die!"

Jaune felt safe to the child. There was something there, something…instinctive that told her so. The way he moved, the way he looked at her, every little thing was portrayed to Katherine as a protecter. Jaune jumped at the feeling of Katherine gripping his pant leg and her body shaking. Jaune frowned but placed his hand on Katherine's head. He rubbed his thumb over her forehead to try and comfort the poor girl. He knelt down and checked on this supposed teleporter.

"You alright there."

The man was still.

"….Fuck" muttered Jaune.

"That's a bad word" whispered Kitty.

"At the moment kid I'm not really caring."

Before Kitty could say a word Jaune picked her up and placed her on his left shoulder. Kitty grumbled as she held on.

"Safer this way" said Jaune "I'll get you home kid. Don't you worry about that."

Kitty blushed as she nodded. She was tired of all this. But looking at the dead bodies felt…cathartic in a way. She felt sick looking at them and she…she honestly felt that this was really really wrong. But to see the people that kidnapped her long gone was a nice feeling.

She was a jumbled mess and she hated it.

"What are you doing?" asked Kitty.

"Well Katherine."

"Kitty" muttered the child.

"…Aren't you called Katherine."

"Kitty."

Jaune sighed.

"Alright. Kitty I'm going to see if we can't use this ship."

Jaune took one step and the ship started blaring.

"Unauthorized passenger detected. Please state authorization code."

Jaune stepped back and narrowed his eyes at the ship.

"What the actual? Who….but why?"

Jaune sighed as he rubbed his eyes. If he had to hazard a guess these mercenaries had stolen the ship and were paranoid about it being stolen in turn.

"Alright" muttered Jaune "the easy way is out. Don't want to attract Grim while we can avoid it. Up for a road trip kitty."

The poor girl nodded.

"At least you got spirit girl. Good. I know the way back home."

"You do?" muttered Kitty.

"I can smell Vale from here, or at least trances of a settlement near by. Smoke, dust discharge, and a few other things tell me when a city is nearby. Considering that Vale is the only settlement near here we should be close. If not we can cap wherever it is. Either way is a win. Ready to go?"

Kitty tried to get down but Jaune kept a grip on her.

"Oh no. If we go at your pace I'll die of old age before we get back."

Kitty glared at him and pouted.

Jaune decided it was time to run at full speed.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

Jaune chuckled at the girl's screaming turned cries of jubilation. It defeated the purpose of not attracting anything but considering that she had apparently watched her father die and just witnessed her saviour brutally murder another four.

She deserved a chance just to be a kid.

"Ozpin" thought Jaune "Ozpin?"

The man didn't answer but Jaune knew it wasn't because he killed. Something had happened.

"Just have to focus on this for now" thought Jaune "figure out the rest when I get back."

It was only later that Jaune would learn that this even is what sparked the following mess he would encounter. For you see, now all the players have hit the board and the F.O.H and White Fang had a lot to learn about what it meant to wield TRUE power.
