-Chapter 14-

"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." – Leo Buscaglia

If pure unbridled rage had a hue, would it be purple? Purple for the blazingly uncontrolled use of cloud flames? Would it be red fading into blue of Iemitus' face as he struggled to breathe past the gushing water escaping through his mouth and nose as cloud flames propagated the moister within the blonde's lungs?

"Kyo-kun!"

Tsuna's voice was lost to the roaring in the Skylark's ears, his grip on Iemitsu's shirt collar being the only thing holding the now unconscious male up. Water continued to pour from the man's parted lips.

"BAHAHA! Lambo-san wins!" Lambo shouted with glee from his spot at the center of the small red ornamental bridge.

"No, Lambo-kun, you cheated," I-Pin called out right before bumping into the cow-print onesie wearing five year old.

Both children went rolling down the bridge, only stopping when they landed on grass. Fuuta was there to help them up, a yellow Hibird resting on top of silky light brunette locks.

"You really don't mind everyone being here?" Tsuna asked from where he sat beside me on the patio.

To be honest, having three children running around the backyard was not such a big deal. All of them reminded me of small animals and they were all cute in their own way. Even with how loud Lambo could get, the baby cow just had a lot of energy that needed to be properly disbursed.

'Maybe I can teach the small cow some kata in order for him to channel that energy?' I wondered to myself, before answering Tsuna.

"I wouldn't have allowed them over if I was against it, Tsunayoshi. With what Reborn said about those rings, it is best for the children to be here and not over at your place," I told him, my steel orbs never leaving the playing children in case they got too close to the koi pond.

A warm weight settled against my right side and soft mousy brunette locks tickled my neck. Slender hands gripped my right hand and squeezed.

"Reborn convinced Bianchi to bring Lambo-kun's and I-Pin-chan's things over later," Tsuna voiced with a sign and snuggling closer.

"Ah, there you are, Tuna-fishy! I was looking for you!"

A chill ran down Tsuna's spine and I felt my eye twitch at the man's annoying voice. Iemitsu had walked around the side of the house after letting himself in through the locked front gate.

"Fuuta-kun, take I-Pin-chan and Lambo-kun inside please," Tsuna told the nine year old. "What are you doing here?"

The question was aimed at the grinning blonde who was glancing around the backyard. I did not miss the shrewd glint in Iemitsu's eyes as they locked on Lambo's retreating figure.

"I don't believe I extended an invitation," I stated as I stood up and took the three steps there were to move off of the patio.

Iemitsu waved my words off with an amused chuckle.

"Are you Tuna-fishy's friend? Hey, Tuna-fishy, Nana-chan said that you were spending the weekend with a friend, but I have plans for us," Iemitsu voiced with a fake whine to his tone.

"Sorry, but I already have plans made that don't involve you," Tsuna said through gritted teeth and I noticed the brunette had followed me down the patio steps.

"You're trespassing, amoeba," I hissed, feeling Tsuna's angry aura merging with mine.

Iemitsu's smile drooped and his eyes narrowed.

"That's no way to talk to your father, Sawada Tsunayoshi. Now come back home with me and bring that one with the cow print with you," Iemitsu ordered, his playful tone gone. "It seems Reborn has yet to teach you your place, so it looks like I'll have to do it myself."

Purple filled my vision.

"Ushishishi, he almost killed the blonde peasant," Belphegor laughed quietly from his spot in a nearby tree.

Mammon shifted from their position on the Varia Prince's shoulder, a smirk tilting their lips upwards. The Varia's mist guarding rubbed their hands together, just thinking about the money they were going to make with the new information they were currently collecting.

"He would have if his Sky did not intervene," Mammon stated, humor easily detected in their high pitched voice.

"Let's go tell the boss," Belphegor said, hopping down from the tree limb they used to observe their competition.

"For a price," Mammon answered.

"Ushishishi."

"Is he going to be okay?" Tsuna asked as Shamal stepped out of Nana's bedroom.

The doctor raised a brow and the corner of his mouth quirked upwards.

"Oh? Yes, he will be fine," Shamal stated, tucking his hands into his pants pockets. "I thought you despised your father."

"That doesn't mean I want Kyo-kun to kill him," Tsuna answered, turning on his heel and walking downstairs to the front door.

"With the way Reborn spoke about your relationship with the man, I would think you would be glad for the man's passing," Shamal voiced, following the brunette outside as Nana moved around the kitchen preparing dinner.

Tsuna shot the doctor a look over his shoulder.

"Kyo-kun doesn't need that on his conscience."

"Oh, I doubt he would mind," Shamal stated nonchalantly, beginning to whistle an off tune as they walked towards the Skylark's house.

Wack!

Thunk!

Wack!

Thunk!

BAM! – Crack.

I threw down the broken pieces of the bo staff I had been using in place of my usual tonfa, the weapon having cracked from the force of my hits against a steel beam inside the Hibari dojo. Anger still rushed through my veins and I have no doubt that if Tsuna had not stopped my cloud flames with his own sky flames, that I would have made that no-good, useless waste of human flesh—. Arms wrapped around my waist from behind and Tsuna rested his head against the center of my shoulder blades, his arrival breaking off the downward spiral my thoughts were going.

"We should talk about what happened," Tsuna whispered, his arms tightening around my waist and his fingers clenching the front of my shirt.

"Why did you stop me?" I asked, my tone flat as I stood unmoving.

I continued to glare at the steel beam, picturing that man's face.

"I was being selfish," Tsuna admitted quietly and I tensed as anger began to resurface.

"Because he's your father," I bit out and Tsuna immediately shook his head, his face still buried against my back.

"No, because I don't want you taken from me," Tsuna whispered and just that fast my anger dissipated.

'Of course…the Vindice,' I thought in understanding, finally cupping Tsuna's wrists and removing the brunette's grip in order to turn around.

Amber orbs peered up at me through thick lashes, Tsuna's arms going back around my waist. Leaning down, I slanted my mouth over his as my fingers tangled in mousy brunette locks.

A soft moan escaped Tsuna as Kyoya deepened their kiss. Tsuna's fingers tightened in the fabric of Kyoya's shirt as the skylark mapped out the inside of the brunette's mouth. All of the anger the skylark previously experienced seemed to unintentionally seep into the kiss. Kyoya nipped the tip of Tsuna's tongue and the brunette gasped, pulling back in surprise. Realizing what he did, Kyoya went to apologize and found his arms full of the brunette and his soul being sucked out of his body as Tsuna kissed the life from him.

Kyoya's back hit the steel beam he had been attacking earlier and he slid down until he was comfortably settled on the dojo floor with Tsuna straddling his lap. Their movements were almost frantic, their breaths meshing together as one. Trailing his hands down, Kyoya dipped then underneath Tsuna's shirt until he was creasing bare skin. Tsuna exhaled a shuddering breath as Kyoya's fingers danced across the brunette's spine. Mirroring Kyoya's earlier actions, Tsuna tangled his fingers in the skylark's hair. Tsuna gave the raven locks a tug that had Kyoya's head tilting back and Tsuna broke the kiss to smile shyly, his cheeks flushed.

"When I become Vongola Decimo, I will deal with my father then," Tsuna voiced in a whisper, brushing his lips over Kyoya's.

"Wao," Kyoya breathed just as quietly, before leaning up to capture Tsuna's lips with his once more.

"This scene would be so much better if one was female, but I guess Tsuna from behind isn't too much of a difference," Shamal's voice sounded from the dojo entrance, his tone almost a defeated whine.

Steel orbs glinted in the light and one of the broken pieces of the bo staff Kyoya had been using earlier made contact with the perverted doctor's face. Blood spurted from Shamal's nose even as the man flipped backwards with swirls in his eyes.

"Fucking herbivore," Kyoya practically sneered and Tsuna actually laughed, burying his face against his skylark's neck.

"What did you just say, Trash?" Xanxus, Varia's leader and user of wrath flames, growled at the two standing before him.

Belphegor smirked, having dodged his boss' empty liquor bottle while Mammon counted out a stack of money.

"Ushishi, the candidate for Vongola Decimo has a powerful cloud by his side. A wrathful cloud, it seems. The blonde CEDEF peasant was almost killed by the cloud if not for Sawada Tsunayoshi's sky flames blanketing them," Belphegor repeated his earlier report.

Xanxus' red orbs glared, but the prince could see the way his boss was thinking over everything that was told to him. Their own cloud position within Varia was empty and to find a cloud powerful enough, talented enough, to fill that open position was difficult.

"Have they harmonized?" Xanxus grunted, leaning back in his chair while opening another bottle of top shelf liquor.

"That information will cost you another 10,000," Mammon stated, grinning slyly at the red glare sent their way.

Belphegor chuckled.

"They've more than harmonized, Boss," Belphegor voiced, his grin wide enough to split his princely face. "They are lovers."

Xanxus' hand faltered right before the lip of the liquor bottle could touch his lips, his red gaze widened just slightly enough not to be noticed by those not looking for a reaction.

'The trash has more in common than I originally thought,' Xanxus contemplated silently, the corner of his lips curving at the thought of his silver haired swordsman.

Although Xanxus was no longer seeking the position of Vongola Decimo, he was not planning on making it easy for just anyone. Sawada Tsunayoshi will be tested by him if the brunette has even an inkling of wanting the title.

"Tsuna, we have to talk about the rings," Reborn addressed his student inside Kyoya's living room.

The area was large enough for all of Tsuna's chosen guardians, Reborn, Shamal, Bianchi, and the children without the feeling of being overcrowded. Kyoya stood by the room entrance, choosing to not look within the room so as not to give into the urge of biting everyone to death.

"Fuuta," Kyoya called out to the nine year old, continuing only once the child looked over at him. "Take Lambo and I-Pin into the dining room please. There are snacks into there for you three."

No one said a word about how nice the skylark was being. They all knew that part of Kyoya was reserved only for small animals and children. The only other person that would even be treated similar was Tsuna. As if feeling the amused and smug glances, steel orbs flashed in annoyance aim entirely at Gokudera, Yamamoto, and Sasagawa daring either of them to say something. Only once the three children left the room did the discussions begin.

"The lightning flame ring will default to the Varia," Tsuna automatically voiced, his tone holding no room for argument.

No one disagreed, understanding exactly why Tsuna stated as much. Lambo was five years old and the only one close enough to be considered Tsuna's lightning guardian. Tsuna would only entertain the idea of Lambo being a guardian once the baby cow grew into his teens.

"I'll gladly participate, Sawada!" Sasagawa voiced loudly, throwing a couple of phantom punches that almost hit Gokudera.

"Watch it, Turf-Top!" Gokudera shouted, whacking the boxer in the head with a magazine on traditional kotos Kyoya's mother read when home.

"You break something, herbivore, and I'll break something," Kyoya threatened calmly, his fingers twitching for his tonfa.

At the skylark's menacing undertone, Gokudera paled. Quickly replacing the magazine, the bomber rubbed at the creases before ducking behind a laughing Yamamoto.

"It seems like it'll be fun, so count me in, Tsuna," Yamamoto stated, a large grin on his face.

"Of course I'm in, Juudaime!" Gokudera called out, not risking Kyoya's ire and staying behind his human shield.

Tsuna sighed, but a smile tugged at his lips.

"And you, Reborn, what will you be doing?" Tsuna asked and earned a smirk from the Arcobaleno.

"Training you," Reborn answered, gripping Leon who suddenly morphed into a pistol. "Which starts today."

Tsuna sweat dropped, a shiver of fear suddenly going up his spine. He suddenly regrets asking the baby hitman.
