Tokoyami trained night and day to become stronger. He swung his bow staff until his hands began to blister. He didn't care how hard it would be, he would be a hero that saved those in need. And unless his shadow decided to return one day, all he really had to work with was his ability to see within the dark and his own skill.

They had entered their third year and he was saddened to know he was not even considered for their year's 'big three'. No one was surprised by Todoroki taking the lead alongside Yaoyorozu and Uraraka. Todoroki had raw power and unrivaled ranged attacks, Yaoyorozu was likely to become the most versatile hero in history, and Uraraka had a quirk that could end a fight with a single touch and had become a master of close combat.

What did he have that could compare to that?

He stared up at the night sky and wondered if power was important for a hero. He understood that a hero needed to be a role model and a guiding light, and that was more important than raw power. But what about underground heroics? The people of Japan would never hear of him, so, is it still as important for one to be good without the spotlight of the public shining upon him? Or must all heroes be good for the sake of being good? But is being good more important than being strong? Because what good is a kind hero who can't win the fight?

Aizawa's voice surprised him out of his inner monologue. "You know, if it was anyone else I'd probably be a lot more worried and have called this in already."

He looked at the man in confusion, "Why is that?"

"Because I just got an alarm telling me some student was sitting on the edge of the roof of our very tall dorms."

"Ah, well there is no reason to be concerned of me attempting to take my own life. I was simply contemplating the nature of justice and power and if one must require the other."

He heard his former teacher sigh deeply. "Yeah. I figured it was something like that. Did you come up with any breakthroughs while scaring the shit out of the teachers."

He hummed in thought and stared up at the sky. "I believe I am concerned that I cannot be an upholder of justice because I am weaker than my peers."

Aizawa sat down next to him on the edge of the roof and sighed. "You know, I felt the same way when I was a student. But here's the thing, 'power' is far more subjective than people like to pretend it is. Here's a question for you, who's more powerful, Ryukyu or Fourth Kind?"

Tokoyami tilted his head in confusion. "Ryukyu, the battle would be uncontested."

"Here's the thing though, I could defeat Ryukyu in a matter of seconds but I know for a fact that Fourth Kind and I are well matched in a fight, so wouldn't that mean he's more powerful than her?"

He paused as he thought through that logic, "...I see."

"No hero is objectively better than any other, just do your best to save as many people as you can and that's good enough. It has to be good enough, because that's all we can do." The hero shook his head, "but in the future can you contemplate at ground level instead?"

Things had grown quiet and no one really knew how to feel about that.

Sure, the League of Villains was a major problem, but it had started to become a subtle one. For the most part they had gone silent. There were no big moves or proclamations, no battling heroes in the streets. In fact, there was almost no one fighting heroes in the streets. As more and more villains fell under their control, there reached a point where villains came to realize that crime had enforced rules now.

Crime still happened, but it was quieter crime. Villains were afraid to take hostages or kill innocents without reason. Villainy had become organized and efficient, which meant it was safer for the populace, but terrifyingly difficult to dismantle.

Mina couldn't decide which was worse. The way things used to be, or this new way of villainy. This new way was kinder and less brutal, but it was far more horrifying for the populace. Knowing one man had so much power, that he controlled nearly all criminals in Japan meant that, if he wanted to, he could orchestrate the largest attacks ever seen whenever he wanted to. Not to mention the man himself could probably fight and defeat an alarming amount of heroes on his own without his army of villains.

She leaned back in thought when her phone rang.

The caller ID showed it was from Midoriya.

What the fuck? Maybe he just wanted to schedule another visit with Eri, but it was weird since he never called but would rather text her.

She picked it up rather than leave the super-villain waiting, and was immediately met with the sound of tears.

Specifically the sound of a little girl crying.

"Eri? Is everything ok?"

"No! Everything is bad and terrible!"

"What's wrong?"

"Kota said girls are gross and have cooties. Does that mean he thinks I'm gross?"

Mina wanted to laugh/cry in relief. With Eri growing up in the middle of a villainous empire, she really expected that to be a lot worse. Though from the perspective of a nine year old girl, it probably seemed just as, if not more, important than any villainous activity going on.

"Well, I don't think you're gross at all. Do you think he could have been joking?"

"But Kota hates jokes!"

"Hm, that's true, he is a bit grumpy. Did you talk to your dad about this at all, he knows Kota better than I do."

She went quiet for a little bit. "Dad's been kinda weird and super busy."

That didn't sound good at all. "How was he weird?"

"I heard him laughing in his room a lot, but like, weird laughing. And yesterday he spent, like, a while just staring out the window."

Oh fuck, the last thing the world needed was Izuku losing his marbles.

Eri seemed to remember something else and kept talking. "Oh! And I heard him talking about how it was time to go to war with heroes or something like that. Wait, you're a hero, does that mean you're going to fight daddy?"

"That's a hard question Eri, I don't want to fight him, but if I can stop him from hurting innocent people then I will."

Mina tried to keep her composure as Eri started to cry again, "But I don't want you to fight daddy. Why can't everyone get along and be nice?!"

"I don't know, I wish things were like that too."

"Even… even if you and daddy fight -sniffle- we're still friends, right?"

"Of course, Eri. You can't get rid of me that easy."

The two of them talked for a little longer before they hung up. Within moments she was running down the hall.

She ignored her concerned friends as she barreled across campus and nearly tore Aizawa's door down as she charged in.

"What have you problem children done now?"

She panted and looked at him with panic in her eyes "Eri just called me, Midoriya is getting ready to make his move on the heroes."

His entire demeanor shifted from annoyed to an intense focus. "She called to warn you?"

She shook her head, "Not exactly, she called because Kota said she had cooties and she was really upset about it. She just happened to mention the other stuff. Also, from what she said… I don't think he's exactly stable."

"Ashido, the man has killed more people than I would ever want to count. What makes you think he isn't stable now?"

"Ok, yes, he's always been unstable, you'd have to be in order to do the things he's done. But I mean like, she said he'll just start laughing in his room and shit- I mean stuff- like that."

"Hm, that is alarming. Thank you for informing me, I'll make sure the new commision hears about this."

Mina nodded and left. The new commission was primarily made up of veteran or retired heroes. It was a temporary solution while the government argued about how they should rebuild the commission. But recreating an entire government structure takes time, so it was easier to just throw a bunch of old heroes together until that happens.

Though it turned out that Eri's warning didn't change much, because the target hadn't been in Japan like they had assumed. She looked down at her phone's notification of breaking news to find a video of Izuku in Mexico with a hand against a politician's neck.

It was shaking, clearly taken on someone's phone as they watched the scene unfold. Both of them were speaking in spanish with subtitles explaining what they were saying.

"I thought I've made myself pretty clear in my intentions, so I don't know why you look so surprised. I don't give a shit about honest heroes or the innocent because neither has any real use to me, but every criminal out there can either fall in line or fall by my hand."

"B-but I'm not a criminal!"

The villain began to laugh, "What, you think just because you steal tax money instead of wallets you are any less of a thief? You think you are innocent just because you are rich? I have terrible news for you then, I don't care that you have power and wealth, I simply care that you think you can run a criminal organization without my approval."

With a sudden flash of green light, the man's head had been turned 180 degrees and dropped lifelessly to the ground.

The video panned as he left without a word. The room seemed to have been for a conference of sorts and was littered with the bodies of men in suits. Somehow, the most eerie thing about it was that there wasn't a single drop of blood.

Everyone who had been killed was from a swift snapping of the neck, showing that there had been no fighting involved. There had been no battle here, just sudden death without anyone able to contest his strength.

The video ended there, but it didn't take a genius to guess what would happen next. He would absorb everyone willing to join into his organization, which would probably be a lot of people given that display. Then he would repeat this in every country that he found corruption which wasn't his own.

This hadn't been an execution but a declaration against the world by showing he was willing to fight entire countries to get his way.

Gran Torino sat in what felt like the hundredth meeting of the day. He didn't love his new job, but someone had to do it. They needed people to coordinate the heroes until they had a commission again to run this shitshow, but they didn't want to drain the already weakened system of much needed heroes. So here he was, pulled out of retirement and telling these newbies how to get shit done.

There were a fair amount of old friends in the room with him, they couldn't fight the good fight anymore, but they could support the next generation. There were also a lot of youngins too, those that weren't ready to stop fighting but weren't given a choice.

Iida Tensei wheeled himself to the front of the room beside Torino and coughed loudly to get everyone's attention.

"Alright everyone, let's get this meeting started. As you all should have read in the briefing beforehand, it has been decided that by targeting governmental figures, the Analyst, also known as Izuku Midoriya, has broken the ceasefire that had been established to prevent civilian deaths and allow us time to rebuild."

And they most certainly had started to rebuild. Even though it wasn't fully ready to start functioning yet, they had built a new headquarters for the hero commission. They probably could have just bought an office or something for now, but he figured it was about symbolism or some nonsense like that. So they built the new main office to be a goddamn monolith, the thing was made to withstand anything from an earthquake to a nuke, hell, even another volcano from the sky wouldn't do it.

"So what we're here for today is to make a general strategy going forward and to start assigning possible heroes for each needed step."

Gran torino could tell people already had some opinions but he wouldn't let them talk until they got to say what needed to be said.

"Alright, here's what I'm suggesting. We don't go after the big guy yet, because that shit hasn't worked before and it won't work now. What we need to do is remove the people that make his League run, that way when we do fight him, he doesn't have a goddamn army behind him."

"That's all well and good, but how would we actually do that?" The speaker was in his forties, a retired hero called Crusher who had lost a hand a few years ago.

Tensei spoke up, which was good since the kid was better with people than he was. "The first step would be to focus on removing his S-class allies that have allowed him to evade defeat in the past."

A projector lit up the screen behind them, showing the villains they were referencing.

Twice, Kurogiri, The Queen of Queens, and Dabi.

He's really been hoping no one would point out the missing villain and almost thought they could avoid an uncomfortable conversation when some old bastard with scales raised his hand.

"Is there a reason that Eri isn't on that list?"

Fuck. That girl is a walking moral dilemma. Lucky for him Tensei took control of the conversation again before he kicked someone in the face.

"Yes. Eri Midoriya, also known as 'Unicorn Princess', is the youngest person to ever become an S class villain. However, this list is specifically for villains who we have approved lethal force against and are setting up strike teams for. Maybe putting a kill order against a nine year old would have been okay with the old commission, but I surely won't stand for it."

"So, we're just supposed to ignore a villain that can kill with a single touch and heal any wound we give her allies?"

"No, we're still ordering her capture. But since she is likely being kept in the most secure locations possible, I highly doubt that will be relevant. And even if you do see her, the goal will be to capture, not lethal force."

The man simply grunted in response, finally accepting that none of the other members would support him in the killing of a child.

"Let's continue then. Gran Torino?"

"Alright, the first guy we've got is Jin Bubaigawara, also known as Twice. The guy isn't too skilled in combat but his quirk is no joke, can make clones of himself and we're not sure what the limit is. The only real weaknesses we're aware of is that each generation of clones seems weaker than the one before it and the fact that he is mentally unstable. So for this one we're gonna need heroes that are based around large area attacks."

Tensei nodded, "He'll also be one of our first targets since we have a possible location on where his clones are being housed and if they know we are targeting him then they will likely scatter the clones, making it near impossible to destroy all of them."

A few other members agreed with this idea and started discussing possible members, Gran Torino didn't like how they were talking. They all seemed far too confident in this mission and not nearly concerned enough.

"Oi, we're not done talking, you can get distracted later. This isn't going to be some walk in the park. We have no idea who else is staying in the compound so we need to be prepared for anything as well as fighting a man who can turn himself into an army."

After that they spent the next few hours making a team that was small enough to get close without being noticed but strong and versatile enough to win.

"Now, I'm sure some of you morons noticed that one of the newer members is up there too and has only been seen a few times. From what we can tell, the Queen of Queens is a sentient ant colony that has a hive mind of sorts, or perhaps someone with an incredibly powerful insect manipulation quirk. Either way, the Analyst is using her to keep surveillance on the entirety of Japan. We've got a general idea of where she could be, but for now it will primarily be a recon focused mission until we find the creepy crawly bitch."

Tensei sighed at his language, but they both respected the other's ability to get shit done and that was good enough for them to get along and work together.

"We can start setting up teams and locations for that today. Due to how close Dabi and Kurogiri are with Midoriya, it will take more planning and a lot more work to stop them, but these two are a good start for crippling his criminal network."

Shoji was happy with his internship. He was working with Jiro under the hero True Sight. The hero specialized in reconnaissance and observation, which made sense since their quirk let them see the entire electromagnetic spectrum, including x-rays, instead of just colors. They stood at over six feet tall and had five eyes, so they could be a bit intimidating to most but were very kind.

That being said, this was the thirteenth 'suspicious' plot of farmland that he and Jiro had been sent to investigate. Apparently the buyer had spent far more than market value and there was no record of any farming related equipment being brought to the location. By this logic there was a chance it was being used as the base for a massive ant colony.

In his opinion it was probably something irrelevant like the past twelve places, but someone had to check.

Both him and Jiro were in their covert outfits, which didn't really change anything for Jiro's costume. But they didn't want to be immediately identified as heroes, so he just wore a tank top and jeans instead of his normal gear.

"Ugh, ten bucks says this is another pot farm."

He formed a mouth on one of his hands, "I think it will be another off the grid commune"

She laughed a little "Or maybe we'll get a random hermit again. He was friendly at least."

"Hmm, that's true."

"My favorite will always be the secret government lab that we walked in on because no one in the government knows how to talk to each other."

As they arrived at the farm they didn't see anything particularly odd.

There was a massive field of low cut and patchy grass surrounded by a fence, so probably a pasture or something like that.

Then they noticed it. The reason there were so many patches of dirt in the field. They were all ant hills. Thousands upon thousands of ant hills stretching out for miles.

Jiro looked up at him with panic. "Holy shit."

Then they heard loud footsteps approaching them and saw someone who looked more like a demon than a man. He stood at over seven feet tall, closer to eight with the horns, had deep red skin and massive bat wings.

What was most concerning was the shotgun in his hands.

"Well hey there. When I asked for some help out here a few days ago, I didn't think they'd send some newbies out so quickly. But who am I to complain? My name's Kubo, what about you two?"

Jiro hesitantly spoke up and made up some names on the spot, "I'm Suzuki and this is my friend Ando."

He noticed their looks of concern and paused, "Oh, is it the shotgun? That's just for dealing with birds. I'm guessing you weren't told a bunch about the job since I know I sure as hell wasn't, but here's the gist of it. All you really have to do here is keep the ants fed, watered, and shoot any scavengers that try to get the food first." He turned around and waved them on, "Follow me, I'll show you around."

Jiro looked up at him with panic in her eyes and he definitely felt the way she looked. They were at a League of Villains location without backup and the person there thought they were employees. Even though it was dangerous, they would learn so much more this way than if they pressed their panic buttons. So they did the reasonable thing and followed the very friendly villain.

"You two seem right out of recruitment so I'll explain it in case someone else didn't. This position is for people that society has decided are big scary villains, but you don't actually want that life. I personally wanted to be a vet, I just love animals and taking care of them. But I didn't exactly have the best luck getting into school because discrimination is bullshit."

He looked at Shoji, "So I can guess you're here for a similar reason. You're big, tall, scary, and I saw you talking out of your hands earlier, so we can add 'creepy' to that list too." Then he turned to Jiro, "But you I can't figure out. You're obviously not quirkless or from the slums, and you don't look scary. So, what's a socially acceptable girl like you doing in place like this?"

Jiro was in a panic. What was an explanation she could give that wouldn't paint her as someone who wanted to be a villain, but would ostracise her from society in a way that these people would find acceptable.

She felt gross about lying about this sort of thing, but it was the only thing she could think of on the spot that wouldn't have giant holes in the story.

"I really don't like violence or anything like that, but… I had made an exception once and got the man who assaulted me killed, and now I'm seen as the villain and he's the victim. So, I didn't really have a lot of other choices."

She wasn't completely sure that would work, but had hoped it would based on how Midoriya had treated Mina. She however wasn't expecting to be suddenly hugged by the very large man who had started to cry.

"You're right, you're not a villain, you're a survivor. We have a very enforced zero tolerance policy for that sort of thing, so I promise you'll be safe and respected here."

Her voice was quiet, but she managed to get out a strained 'thank you'.

He wiped his eyes and stood back up to his full height and chuckled a little, "That's enough of emotional conversations for now, I'll show you how to feed the ants and what you'll be doing around here."

He picked up his gun and a large sack and walked outside.

Shoji was still a little bit in shock from what had just happened. That was such a specific situation to think of, and how did she know that would work? He personally would have gone with drug usage or something more obvious like that. He also didn't know what to do about Kubo. He wasn't evil or villainous at all, but he'd be sent to jail all the same. Sure the guy knew he was working for villains, but what other options did someone like him have?

It was a moral question he didn't have the answer to, and one he wished he didn't have to answer.

They followed Kubo as he walked out on a raised path that cut through the field of ant hills. "Alright, so in the League one of the main things they focus on is efficiency. So, a lot of waste is brought here. Especially since it's hard to gain access to legitimate services it's best to be as self sufficient as possible." He held up the sack he had brought with them "Which is why we handle disposal of a lot of lab rats that come from the sciency dudes."

He had thick gloves on, but it was still gross when he started pulling mutated rats out of the bag.

"I'm pretty sure those nutcases have been trying to make artificial quirks, because these things just keep getting weirder and weirder looking."

He dropped a rat that had seven arms onto a steel plate that was quickly covered in ants that came to feed.

He looked at the man quizzically and spoke from his hand-mouth. "Artificial quirks? Is that even possible?"

After pulling out a rat that had iron spikes coming out of it. "Well, from how these things look, I'd say they aren't there yet but they sure as hell are trying." He shrugged "But what the hell do I know. I'm just one of the people who feeds ants, all that stuff is way above my pay grade."

Jiro nodded, "who else works with the ants?"

"Hmm, I'm not really sure. I know that there are more of these set up, but past that I don't really know. I'm the only one at this one though, so you'll be seeing a bunch of me." He gave a bright smile at that.

Jiro looked at him with pain in her eyes once Kubo's back was turned, she was clearly going through the same dilemma as he was.

They were back to the supply shed when he could have sworn he heard Jiro whisper the words 'fuck it'.

"Kubo, I think it would be a really good idea for you to leave this place."

Shoji looked at her in shock, sure he wanted to say the same thing, but wasn't it wrong to let this man go?

The large man turned and looked at her suspiciously, "What are you talking about?"

"I'm sorry. You're a very kind man, and that's why I'm giving you this warning. We're the hero-students Earphone Jack and Tentacole and we'll be calling a raid on this place any minute. So please just go before I regret this."

"..Was your story a lie?"

Fuck. Of course that's the sort of thing he would care about.

"No. But it wasn't my story, it was a friend of mine."

He gave her another hug. "Well, I appreciate the warning and I'm going to get the hell out of here. And you make sure to take care of that friend of yours and give her a hug for me."

He grabbed a few of his things from the cabin and unfurled his wings before taking off into the air as they reported their findings to True Sight, except they changed the story so that Kubo had been able to escape rather than be let go.

It didn't take long before a nearby hero came to confirm the location before the entire area was crop dusted with intense pesticides. Even if the Queen of Queens herself wasn't found, they at least now knew what to look for and how her armies were being fed and they got good intel on the League in general.

Afterwards he had turned to Jiro when they were alone, "The friend you mentioned-"

She spun on him and snapped in response, "Is none of your business. I shouldn't have mentioned her to start with, I just happened to panic when coming up with a convincing story, so I figured a true one would have the least flaws. Don't press the issue and don't try to figure out who it is."

He simply nodded, not expecting such an intense answer. "Of course."

Yaoyorozu was nervous about the upcoming mission. Looking around at the nine other people in the back of the truck, she wasn't sure if it was better or worse that she wasn't the only one nervous. She looked up at her mentor, Yoroi Musha, the equipped hero. He had chosen her as an intern because their quirks worked incredibly well together and she definitely had a lot she could learn from him. He had the ability to know how to use any tool or machine he held. So no matter what she gave him, he would be an expert with it.

Because of this, the two of them were essentially the backup for the upcoming raid on a League base. Since there were likely to be surprises, they brought in heroes that could respond to anything.

It was still nerve wracking though. They were going up against an S-class villain and an assortment of other villains of unknown rank.

She just had to believe in her own strength and the strength of the other heroes there. Because it was definitely too late to back out now, they'd be there any minute.

She only knew one of the heroes outside of her mentor. Her name was Nejire, who had been quickly rising in the hero rankings lately in her hero agency alongside her friends Tamaki and Mirio, though neither of them were here today since they were more based around melee combat.

As the highest ranked hero here Yoroi was in command of the operation. "It's time. We do this fast, don't give him the chance to multiply."

They all nodded as the truck they were hiding in slowed to a stop. It had been designed to look like a delivery truck so they could hopefully get close without alerting anyone.

The sound of their driver talking to someone drifted through the air as they quietly opened the back door and got ready to charge. "-yeah man, I think I totally got lost along the way, can you point me in the right direction?"

Before anyone got the chance to respond the entire scene turned into pure chaos.

The hero, Beam, shot lasers from his fingertips that started to cut into the building indiscriminately while at the same time Nejire was launching massive waves of energy, trying to bring it down in hopes that they would beat most of their opponents at once. Another hero, aptly called Shockwave, hit the nearby man who had been talking to the driver and launched him through the air.

The building began to collapse in on itself after taking far more damage that it was built to withstand and villains began to pour out the front.

She didn't recognize most of the villains, although there were a few that caught her attention as known threats. But that was quickly ignored when she realized something alarming, the villains weren't charging at them like expected, they were taking cover, but facing the wrong direction.

Then the flood came. Out from the collapsing building came hundreds of clones, and as soon as one formed the first thing they did was create two more.

She became acutely aware of how this man was considered an S class. He isn't the type of person that seems to radiate power like Midoriya or All for One, but looking at the endless wave of bodies, he seems just as unbeatable as them.

"Do not give in to fear. We fight so that others don't have to."

She looked up at her mentor and nodded. That's right, if they don't stop him here then just how much damage could someone like him do?

It was time to stop thinking and start acting, for now their allies were holding back the army of clones, but it was doubtful that they could do so for long.

She needed a weapon that would cause a large area of damage and designed for fighting off groups. Within seconds she was handing Yoroi a flamethrower that had a range in the hundreds of feet.

Shockwave and Beam had fallen, and the others were starting to run out of steam. Then she noticed something that just might turn the tide of the battle. Twice was definitely insane, but he wasn't an idiot. Every clone was a weaker form of that person and thus made weaker clones, so it made sense when she saw that there was a group of the oldest clones in the very back that just kept making more whenever the clones they made died instead of charging in themselves.

That's who she needed to kill. She didn't know the moral implication of killing a clone, but not dying was a far higher priority than that dilema.

She began to make what she needed, along with more than enough ammo.

Which led to where she was now, firing explosives at the back line with a grenade launcher while her mentor lit everything nearby on fire to keep them away from her.

After raining explosives down on the furthest group of clones, they had good news and bad news. The good news was it was clearly an effective strategy to weaken them as a whole. The bad news is now they are all focused on the two of them.

This was supposed to be a quick battle based around overwhelming force, but it had turned into one of endurance.

Then everything changed.

All of the clones seemed to stop and turn around in a panic as they yelled at each other in a chaotic relay of information. Nejire took this chance to release one final massive wave of energy that ripped through them, inadvertently relieving what they were looking at.

Right where her most recent grenade had ripped clones apart, one Twice was bleeding out.

And Clones didn't bleed.

they all suddenly seemed to have lost their minds at the information that they hadn't all been clones. They had been so sure that none of them were real, but there was undeniable proof that not only had this one been the original Jin, but that he was dead now. These issues carried a lot of complex emotions for the Twice clones, and Twice was never very good at those.

And with a mix of horror and relief, Momo watched as the clones began attacking everything around them indiscriminately, including each other.

Within minutes it was finally over.

Her mentor, herself, Nejire, and two others were the only ones left standing. She was exhausted, low on reserves, and filled with conflict over having just killed a man, but it was over.

Until it wasn't.

They had been so focused on Twice it had been able to forget about the other villains that had taken cover and hid for the duration of the battle. That is, until they heard the loud cry of "FLESH". Then they immediately remembered the others.

She wished she could say that it was a close fight, that they had nearly won. But they didn't stand a chance.

She laid on the ground with a massive tooth shard impaling her stomach, Nejire was still alive but had lost a leg at some point. She hadn't seen the others in a bit, but it probably wasn't good. Everything seemed to be getting darker and duller until she let her heavy eyelids close and drifted into the nothingness

When Momo woke up she was surprised. Primarily because she wasn't expecting to wake up. Being stabbed and surrounded by cannibals usually results in not waking up after you pass out. So why wasn't she dead/eaten?

She did her best to take in her surroundings, it seemed like a pretty standard hospital room, if a little cluttered. There were three other people in the room, none that she recognized.

Someone in a white lab coat walked over with a big smile, "Hello, Yaoyorozu, It's good to see you awake and lucid."

She tried to talk, but found that she was greatly restricted by a feeding tube.

"Ah, don't mind that too much, you've simply been in a coma for the past week and eating is still pretty important."

After the uncomfortable removal of the device she spoke with a raspy voice, "Where am I?"

"I'll tell you the truth, but you're not going to like it. Well, I can't tell you the full truth obviously, but you aren't with the heroes if that's what you're asking."

The words made her blood go cold, "Wait… you mean…"

"Yep, you weren't rescued, you were captured. It was a close call too, luckily we were able to fix you up before it was too late."

"Why?"

He just chuckled sadly, "I'm afraid my job is just to save lives, not to ask why they should be saved. But I have a feeling that you'll find out pretty soon."

And with that, he injected something into her IV and she fell back into darkness.

She woke up again, and this time, instead of being in a hospital like room, she was in a bedroom. Her body felt less weak that it did last time. She looked around to have any clues as to where she was or how to get out. She tried to draw on her quirk but found that it was suppressed by the handcuff on each wrist, though they weren't chained together.

There were no windows, the only exit was through a large blast door, and under the flowery wallpaper was cement (most likely reinforced). There were two wooden doors in the room, one was simply a bathroom, and a fairly nice one at that while the other was an expansive pantry and a small kitchen. She even had a television in her bedroom, so this was definitely a gilded cage of sorts.

Then the door suddenly began to slide open, she fell into a battle stance, ready to fight whoever came through the door.

"Jeez, calm down. You really plan on going into a fight the next day after waking up from a coma? I don't know if that's bravery or stupidity."

She unconsciously took a step back as the man walked into the room.

"Yes, yes, I'm the big scary Analyst, now stop freaking out. If I planned on hurting you I would have."

"What do you want from me?"

"Jumping right to business. Would you like some tea first?"

-Maybe I should say yes so I can throw it in his face-

"Wow, I'm going to take that as a no. I guess we'll get to it then. You're here because I want to make use of your quirk."

She used up the last of her courage laughing in his face, "Like I'd ever help you."

"Yeah, I sort of figured you'd say that. So, I'm going to give you two options. One which is more morally acceptable to you, or one that makes more money for me. First option, you make expensive life saving medicine that was previously far too pricey to make on a large scale. I sell it at a more reasonable price and make a lot of money while saving lives."

That didn't sound too evil, other than the fact that the money earned would be used for villainy. "...And option two?"

"Option two is if you decline to work with me at all, so I torture you until you are complient and have you make the purest cocaine to ever exist, letting me undercut all the drug cartels that have been apposing me. So, it's your choice, save lives by choice, or be tortured until you make the best drugs ever."

"This doesn't feel like I'm being given a real choice."

"Hey, I said you had options, not that you had good options."

"And I assume that I'll be here forever?"

"Hm, probably not. How about this, if I can start making this drug cheaper than using you as the producer, then I'll let you go. And before you even think it, there will be scientists still researching and bettering production. I wouldn't want to put all my eggs in one basket."

"You seem quite sure that no one will come to save me."

"Oh, that because no one is looking." The entire room began to shimmer and shift in form until it looked like she was back where she was attacked by Moonfish. Except this time it was in third person and she watched in horror as he and a man, with what seemed like a blackhole mouth, consumed her body, leaving nothing behind.

"You see, this is what everyone else saw. It's a little illusion quirk I picked up along the way. It's still a secret though, so don't tell anyone."

She ran to the bathroom and vomited after watching herself be eaten in such a realistic vision.

"That's my bad, sometimes I forget that other people aren't as desensitised to this sort of thing. Well, I have other things I need to get to. So I'll just leave a packet explaining the chemical formula, and someone should be by later to bring a vat for you to fill."

Once he left the room she curled up on the quality mattress and cried. She turned on the television and watched as they mourned her death. Apparently only one person had (actually) died, everyone else got out with varying levels of injury with Nejire's missing leg being the worst of it.

They played footage from her funeral, where all her family and friends were in attendance and a few of them spoke. She wished they could hear her begging and pleading for them to stop accepting that she was dead. There really was no one looking, they'd all accepted her death as a fact and she wouldn't be leaving this place unless she got out herself or they decided to let her go.

She cried herself to sleep that night as she feared for the future.

I hope you all enjoyed seeing some stories from the hero perspective, I was going to do a few others this chapter, but it got longer than I expected, so you'll get more students next chapter too. We've reached the point where I've needed to make OCs because I've killed or arrested too many characters to work the story without them, so if you have any you'd like to see in the story let me know (who knows, they might even survive).
