A/N: It's shitty and super short, but I actually found chapter 14 while looking for something else. I have no idea how to make it better and can't even really try, but maybe you guys might enjoy it since it's finally an update?
Chapter 14
Bella was clearly pissed at Colin and Brady, and made it clear for the next several days. She also made it clear that they had better not say a word about Rosalie to anyone, although the pack was clearly exempt from this. Of course, this left the pack pretty split on how to handle the situation. They all wanted to rejoice over the knowledge that Bella had gotten at least some reprieve from the imprint insanity, however most of them still didn't like Bella's imprint. Not even because she was a vampire; they just hated her hurting Bella. It didn't matter that both of them fought, that both of them were the reason for their suffering. Rosalie had hurt Bella, tortured her, since the moment they had met, and it didn't sit well with any of the wolves. Unless Rosalie was about to have a serious attitude change, they just couldn't accept Rosalie into the fold with open arms.
Of course Bella knew this from hearing their thoughts, and of course that caused a mix of emotions to rise in Bella...which only made her moodier. Angrier. More desperate. More conflicted. Everyone outside of the pack noticed; especially the Elders. They noticed from the very first day, the morning after Bella had spent time with Rosalie. In fact, they noticed from the moment Bella appeared grumpier than usual, and what did they do?
They put Bella on a fucking leash.
Not a real one, obviously. Just some goddamn orders. They had said they were "concerned" with how moody Bella had become. That being Alpha might be "getting to be too much" for Bella. So they decided Bella had to stay on the reservation, where an Elder can keep an eye on her at all times, until further notice. To top it off, Bella now had a curfew. They announced this right in front of the entire pack, without even consulting Bella first
Bella admittedly didn't make things better for herself when she chucked a cheeseburger at Quil Sr's head, but damn did it feel good.
"How are you doing, Bella?" Jared asked as he jogged over in nothing but shorts, making sure to keep his voice low. He was well aware that one of the elders was watching just a short way away.
"What do you think?" Bella snapped, but immediately forced herself to calm. "Sorry, Jared. I just…"
"Yeah, I know." Jared sat down next to Bella on the ground, staring out into the forest; a forest that Bella currently wasn't allowed to run in. "I'm sorry this is happening to you. The Elders have gone too far trying to control you."
Bella snarled; an angry, frustrated sound. She agreed completely. "I don't know how to get out of this. The Elders won't let me go back to normal duty unless I can stop acting so volatile, but I can't calm down being kept from my…" realizing what she had been about to say, a cold terror gripped her heart, panic even her wolf couldn't fight away. No no no, she hadn't been about to call Rosalie her girl. Being nice to each other for a few minutes, soothing each other, was because they didn't have any other choice. Everything she had felt that day was because of the imprint, Bella had to remember that. "I can't calm down while being kept from the blonde bitch."
"Right." Jared didn't mention Bella's momentary panic, and the alpha couldn't be more thankful for that. That kind of weakness just wasn't something she could talk about, especially not right now. "Still can't get away at night?"
"Nope." Charlie has argued with the other elders for Bella, but he eventually lost, and the elders had built in alarms on the windows and doors of Charlie and Bella's house. "Just in case" Bella lost control, wrenched open the windows, and tried to sneak out, the Elders would know. It looked like Quil Sr was really pushing the "potentially dangerous alpha bitch" hard, and it was working enough to worry a majority of the Elders enough for them to go along with the crazy. They even took Bella's phone in fear that she would just call up the Cullens and antagonize them for no reason.
They really had covered all of their bases with crazy, and Bella couldn't figure out a way to sneak out and somehow find Rosalie without being caught, and without crossing the border and breaking the treaty.
With how she and her wolf were being driven insane, it was getting harder and harder to think at all.
