Blood pressure, good. Temperature, mildly high. Oxygen level, fair, surprisingly. Pulse rate, mildly high. Injuries sustained, minimal. These sort of results a person would normally be allowed to leave, but not for a small child. They where detained longer for closer observation, should anything occur and was the hardest thing any parent's heart could handle.
Sitting by her daughter's side as she slept in her hospital bed, Megumi watched her daughter's small chest rising and falling slowly, there was no distress upon her little face that could seen; which was a good sign for most. But that didn't mean any mental scars weren't there. Doctors and nurses thoroughly checked her for any injuries when she arrived but they found barely any. Only a few scratches and the scent of rose was discovered. Megumi was grateful wholeheartedly Maki was saved but that didn't stop her bleeding heart of worry. Her little girl...she was nearly...Yamato and Takeru and the others apologized profusely. The heart drowned in it, she'd be lying if her heart was burning with anger and the words that formed she wanted to use, simmered from the tinge of relief she was glad they were alright.
All except one, you.
Informed by the others of your presence it filled her with sadden joy of knowing, it crippled her heart further now thinking of it. Tears rose once again for the tenth time, for you this time. Lost and confused, she had one daughter here, but not the other one. There was no doubt in her heart she knew you felt responsible for this, just as you did with Jimmy...and she was to blame for burdening you with such an infliction. The flat hard look that briefly crossed her face struck you so hard, it just...broke you. Your eyes lost its innocence and your core hardened with sunken guilt that transformed into your conscience; guiding to a darkness she herself brought up you. It ate you slowly and almost swallowed you if not for the others.
Now, she knew that's what it was. It was back, stronger than ever and you knew it too, and as she wept holding Maki's hand...reflecting on the recent information she stubbornly rejected about you given by Daigo conflictingly.
It wasn't true, she wouldn't believe it...no matter...you were good, you were a good girl. That part of you was...it was gone...it couldn't hurt you anymore. It was wiped away. Tears fall, hot tears soak the bedding blanket...Maki... her thoughts cry. A tinge of anger flared inside, almost the same as with Jimmy, quickly washed away by Maki unconsciously squeezing her hand.
Surprised, Megumi blinked a few times drying up the falling tears, faithfully smile tenderly at her daughter. Knowing she was right.
You knew it was right too, what you solidified on doing...even if...Wizardmon's presence insisted otherwise. His eyes...those green eyes...every time you slipped into solace, pleaded adamantly to reconsider...you did at first...but that voice...that silky voice..it...it insisted with great certainty, guiding that it was right..riping at that part of you, festering inside for years. That directed you with all your actions and now consumed if not controlled your thoughts. Memories...the memories...those dreams...the result...everything. Echoes of past words haunting you, physically appearing on you, staring back every time you glanced at your reflection. It was bound to happen, it was what you are...everything that's been happening...it made sense...Maiki she was right...you had a way to make it all better...but it was at a cost.
A cost that was fitting really...the voice told you...yet you said you would never do that...knowing where you descend to..the others...they'd truly be disgusted...they've always been...no one lifted a finger to your call(but they would)...you knew why Wizardmon appeared...to prevent you from...crossing that line, he warned you...he made you promise...shame already burrowed in your heart choosing this...but you had too...after all Maki now in the hospital, Maiki informed you. Why didn't you know she was there...why did she... did she follow you...why did...your chest tighten and heart crushed and throat tightened with tears that you manage to barely suppress. Buckle from the weight of it and drop hard to your knees, ignoring the sharp pain from the impact on the concrete, bury your face into your hands. Again, cast yourself into darkness...this time though...there was no Jimmy or Emeraldmon it was just...you...alone. Not a single presence around you from miles away...just you.
This was how it was to be...your thoughts speak...unaware of the dark figure that appeared behind you with a twisted pleased smile increasing from each of your thoughts encouraging them. This had to be it, your thoughts continued, you've been a bad girl...after all. It seems only fitting...yes, it was fitting. Since day one...the moment you were born nothing but a plague...you made your mother lose someone precious...someone she loved. You were the fault of Gatomon's misery...Hikari's too. Everyone's...just everyone's...their concerns were nothing but falsity...Emeraldmon...how could he even...and because of you he was...you ruined your mother's life...and now...now...you ruined things between you and Tai...you ruined everything...everything! Stole Jimmy's digidestine spot, it was supposed to him...not you.
Why...your thoughts cried aloud, why hadn't anyone...you went to Joe...he didn't do anything. You left something Yamato and he didn't do anything...you ruined his life too. Being his sister. Being Takeru's sister. You ruined it, you just knew it. They were siblings you were just...just put there. Their smiles. Their laughter, it was a ruse. None of it was real. Holidays. Outings...all of it was wrong. Why was it all wrong? Didn't anyone hear your cries...they had to matter somehow. They just had too! They had too!
Sora!
"Amane-chan!" Sora sprung from her spot on her bedroom floor, startling Biyomon, panicked and confused a shiver ran through her. Did she just...hear...by the way her hands tingled knowingly, there was no doubt. She heard you or more of an echo of your searing cry. How it reached her, she wasn't sure, all she knew she as her heart paused in shock, you were in anguish. Something was wrong.
Despite what she told others, she now felt it. Just as much as she knew it, after seeing what she saw at the festival with you, your behavior...appearance. Including Meiko's report about you visiting with what Daigo told them. Finding out from Takeru you stopped picking up Maki. Non-returned calls, just everything. Something was fearfully wrong, she wished to know. But, she couldn't...you never really told her much. Unless you blew out every emotion that poured heavily, she'd eventually figure it out and see through it...just as she did years ago and calmly helped you through them. Encouraging you to talk with her if you needed too. Though you rarely did it, when you did she understood.
walking over to her window, Biyomon worriedly looked on calling to her, Sora didn't stop. Fixated on this new rising feeling pulling upon her heart, lightly touched window blocked out everything and cleared her mind for a moment...to hear closely for another call. Nothing came. Opening her eyes now filled with grievance, Biyomon wasted no time and hurried over to her human to give comfort.
Sora took it.
You took it too, your fate...what you intended to do. Regardless...of it all. Switching from the previous mindset...shuffle through your thoughts...momentarily. Your body unnerved while your heart eerily calm, and mind now clearing. It was for the best, now walking the streets phasing by others, invisible. So they didn't care...that was alright. Reaching the area you wanted to go to, stop for a moment, and stand before it. Thinking how it wouldn't be as bad...you'd get something out of this...a little. Reaching a sleeve covered hand out rest it on the cement long rectangle stone with a simple name etched in. One you couldn't protect nor save, it still stung...Maiki she was, then again at least with the others, you'd be able to do that and everything would be fine.
Hearing a rustling in the bushes behind you, a small hooded cloak figure pops out, its yellow-golden eyes glance around...find no one. You were gone.
