Laina waited around pacing most of the next day, as she expected Ryo didn't show up. By nightfall she knew he was in trouble. Something had to have happened.
The next day she trained by herself with White Blaze by her side. She had to train to be strong for him. She had to be able to help Ryo.
Meanwhile…
"Touma, I don't like this, no one has heard from Ryo and we have no leads," Seiji said as they trained hard. Shin swung his bo, and Touma hopped over it, hitting Seiji's sword with his bow to protect himself from the attack.
"I know, but I don't know what to do," Touma replied, shooting an arrow at Shu, who flipped over it with ease and swung his bo at Shin.
"Has anyone talked to Laina?" Shin asked meeting Shu's bo with his own. A loud clack echoing through the forest. Seiji's sword swung at Shu who used the other end of his bo to block.
"No, but she would call if she heard from him," Touma replied, firing an arrow at Shin. Shin deflected it with his bo, when Ryo walked out of the forest. The four friends stopped training and turned toward him. His eyes were no longer blue but a blood red, and he smirked, a blonde male following behind him.
"Ryo!" Shu called running toward him.
"No!" Touma yelled grabbing his arm and stopping him. The blonde man let out a sinister laugh.
"Laina was right not to trust him," Touma said pulling on his sub armor. The others looked surprised but quickly followed.
"That's right! Meet Queen Mardina's newest recruit," the blonde man said, "And guess what? His sights back! Isn't that great?"
Ryo charged at them, his swords out and ready. Seiji called his armor and wallpaper flew out of no where. Sieji in his green armor met Ryo head on, their swords clashing. Touma took aim with his arrows, firing at Dracu, who deflected the arrows with his shamshir.
"No, why Ryo?" Shin asked as he joined in the fight. With four against two the odds were hardly fair, except that one of the two was their own team mate. Shin couldn't go full force on his dear friend. Dracu was tougher than he looked, he pulled different blades from thin air. The four Ronin were getting beat by the two. Seiji used his Thunder Bolt Cut, and Shin helped him with the Super Wave Smasher. Ryo and Dracu fled. Shin shook from the damage he sustained and looked at Touma.
"We're going to be in trouble this time," Shu stated and pulled the mystical armor off.
"What do you think happened? Is he possessed?" Seiji asked removing his armor and walking with the others back towards Mia's.
"It looked like it. Did you see his eyes?" Shin asked, "Any ideas, Touma?"
"I'll have to look into it. I didn't see a necklace like Kayura's," Touma said as he walked.
"Should we tell Laina?" Seiji asked.
Touma stopped and looked at them, "What do you guys think? She's on her own with White Blaze. She might be safer away from us. That way she doesn't try to stop him and end up like Luna."
"Ryo's been training her, so you're probably right. She might think she's strong enough to stop him and end up dead," Shu nodded in agreement.
"For now, we won't tell her. She doesn't need to worry," Shin agreed.
That night…
Laina sat in the living room, watching another cheesy movie. She was getting really bored, and lonely. White Blaze's head popped up. Laina looked at her and then looked at the door. White Blaze stood and let out a low growl. Laina turned off the TV and went to turn off the light like she normally would. Once it was dark, she looked outside. The moon was shining and the stars were out. She could see a figure move by the trees. It's eyes glowed red in the moonlight.
Reaching down, she felt White Blaze next her and she shivered. The figure came closer toward the cabin. Laina watched as it stepped into the open. Familiar wild black hair was tinted blue from the light, and glowing red eyes stared directly at her. She knew he could see her.
Laina felt torn, she wanted to run to him so badly. His eyes scared her, though. He promised he would never hurt her, but glowing red eyes made her think that this wasn't the same Ryo. He stood in the open, staring at her. She watched as his head tilted, wrapping her arms around herself to stop from running out there. She gasped as he turned and walked back to the forest. She wanted to run to him, feeling tears drip down her cheeks and onto her arms. The figure disappeared into the forest. Laina clung to White Blaze as she cried, desperately wanting him to come back, wanting her Ryo back.
The next few nights Laina would look out the window to the same red eyes. He would walk toward the cabin and stare at her. Laina wanted to go out there, but she was afraid. Ryo had talked to her about how dangerous these people were, and she knew something was off. Yet he kept returning and she wanted desperately to feel his arms around her again.
One night she waited but he didn't come. Looking at the clock and waiting for him to come until one in the morning. The next night he didn't come again. She wondered if she should call the guys. They had told her that they would take care of it, and not to worry. She hadn't told them of his visits, because she didn't want them to end. If they took her to Mia's, Ryo might not come. She knew it was selfish of her to want to see him. Now that he wasn't coming, she debated calling them. The next night he returned, looking like he had gotten into a fight. He walked with a limp, dried blood trailed down from his mouth. His red armor looked beat up as well.
She went to the door and opened it, closing it behind her so White Blaze wouldn't come out. Cautiously she walked towards him, his red eyes followed her and he stopped walking. She could feel her heart racing, her body shaking with nervousness. She was risking her life. Taking the porch steps slowly she made her way towards him, stopping twenty feet or so from him.
"Who are you? Why do I keep coming here?" he asked.
"I'm Laina," she answered, biting her bottom lip, "Your girlfriend, Ryo."
His red eyes stared at her and he stepped forward. Her heart felt like it was going to explode. What was he going to do? Was he going to kill her? She gasped as he was suddenly right in front of her. Red eyes staring at her so deeply as though he was trying devour her with his eyes. Ryo's gloved hand raised and Laina flinched, looking down. His finger went under her chin and he lifted her face. The armor he wore actually felt warm. She had thought the metal would be cold. Her green eyes looked up into his red eyes and he leaned down, his lips pressing against hers. It was gloriously familiar. His same gentle kisses that sparked passion in her.
He stopped, pulling back and she could swear the glow dimmed a little. Was her Ryo still in there? Would she get him back? She could feel a spark of hope as he walked back to the forest. She heard a growl and turned to see White Blaze standing at the window. Laina ran back to the cabin, feeling like she was floating.
