Flames of Torment Part 2

As the attack came I looked to my opponent who seemed to be calm. He probably thought that it was over.

With no action cards in my hand I was almost doomed.

Well almost.

"I activate the effect of Mermail Abyssnerei in my hand. By discarding it I can target one water monster I control, I of course target my White aura dolphin. Then I destroy one water monster in my hand, I choose fishborg planter"

"Well that doesn't really help you much, my attack continues" Yogan said.

Laval Blaster incinerated White Aura Dolphin as it shattered.

"When White Aura Dolphin is destroyed I get to revive it" I said as I banished the Fishborg planter I sent to the grave.

"White Aura Dolphin comes back once more" I said as I banished my last water monster in the graveyard and revived White Aura Dolphin once more.

"So you managed to save that little fish of yours. Well let's see whether you can come back from this. I end my turn so all my monsters attack now return to their original values along with the added boosts from the laval phlogis"

I jumped on top of White Aura Dolphin as we floated past the flames and cinders that came near us. White Aura Dolphins aura shielded me as we went through a wall of fire and I picked up an action card.

"I activate the action spell:Mimic. Its effect allows me to use the effect of a non action-spell you used in your last turn. I choose Burial from a different dimension's effect" I said as I slapped the action spell as it morphed into burial from a different dimension.

"I return Fishborg archer, Fishborg planter and White Stingray to my graveyard. Then I activate White Aura Dolphin's Effect to halve Laval Salamander's attack"

"Battle Phase I attack your Laval Salamandra-"

"I activate a trap card: Explosive Wall. This card allows me to destroy one monster I control in exchange for letting me destroy one of my opponents monsters" Yogan says as a blast rips through Laval Blaster and White Aura Dolphin.

"You know that won't stop me," I said as I banished White Stingray and White Aura Dolphin reappeared.

"Continue the attack White Aura Dolphin-"

"Now don't be in such a hurry I activate explosive wall's effect from the graveyard. I can banish an opponent's monster that attacks mine at the cost of banishing all cards I control though it's a cost I'll accept."

Both our monsters warp out of existence.

"I end the battle phase.I now activate fishborg archer's effect. By discarding the Atlantean Dragoon from my hand. I can special summon it to the field"

"Then I activate Dragoon's effect when it's discarded I can add a Sea serpent to my hand I add Mermail Abyssteus to my hand"

"Things aren't going to be stopping here thoughI now activate Fishborg's planters effect and discard the card on top of my deck to the graveyard" I reveal Fishborg doctor who I discard to the graveyard.

"This allows me to special summon the Fishborg Planter."

"I will. Draw!" I say as I grab the card and take a look at it.

"I activate the Mermail Abyssteuss's effect from my hand. By discarding a water monster I can special summon it. I send Atlantean Heavy infantry to the graveyard. When Atlantean Heavy Infantry is sent to the graveyard to activate an effect I can destroy on face up monster my opponent controls-"

"Yeah too bad that won't work by banishing a laval monster in my graveyard. I can negate any effect targeting my Stennon and destroy the targeting card," Yogan said.

"Ugh..When Mermail Abyssteus is special summoned by it's effect I get to add a mermail monster to my hand. I add Mermail Abyssgunde"

'I guess this will work'

"I activate the effect of Mermail Abyssmegalo in my hand I discard two water monsters in my hand to special summon it" I said as I discarded the Mermail Abyssgunde I just added to my hand and Mermail Abysspike.

"I'm going to stop you right there. I play an action spell:Exhaustion. This card reduces the attack of the Highest attack monster you control to zero until the end of this equip spell won't be of much use now will it?" he said as he cracked his knuckles.

'Crap he saw through my strategy'

If I equipped the Abyss-scale of the mizuchi to Mermail Abyssmegalo and attacked the match would end in my favor. But now with it's attack at Zero I don't know what to do.

I looked to my monsters on the field as I tried to contemplate a strategy.

Time was running out. The people watching the match were also starting to get grumpy. I needed to figure something out soon.

Yogan on the other hand had a relaxed expression on his face.

'I need to win this turn'

As I thought that my eyes went to my extra deck.

I looked through it hoping that I had put that card in. Thankfully I did.

'Phew let's finish this'

With my strategy in mind I calmed down.

"You fought a good duel Raizen, it's fine if you want to forfeit. I can't say there are many people who can push me this far" He said.

"Thank you Yogan. But this duel is mine" I said

I sharpen my gaze as I raise my hand.

"Using the lvl 7 Mermail Abyssteus and Mermail Abyssmegalo I build the overlay unit"

The two monsters I named turned into rays of light and shot into the ground as energy spirals appeared.

"As the waves of fate come to crush me. The currents that drag me to the depths.I call for your power to end this conflict. XYZ Summon! Appear Rank 7:Mermail Abyssgaios"

The crowd began to stop their grumpiness as they looked towards my monster.

"Synchro and also Xyz?"

"He's used two summoning methods, who is this person?"

I should've known the people in arc V gave people who used multiple summoning methods too much credit.

"I equip the spell card Abyss-scale of the mizuchi to my Mermail Abyssgaios increasing it's attack by 800 points"

"Now to put an end to this battle Mermail Abyssgaios attack"

Mermail Absyssgaios struck at Laval Stennon with it's trident shattering it.

"And now Mermail Abysspike attack directly and turn his life points to a perfect zero"

Mermail Abysspike swam forward and struck Yogan.

I deactivated my duel disk as I took a deep breath calming myself.

At that moment the crowd immediately began to clap.

I turned around to see them.

"What Impressive moves"

"So this is what dueling is supposed to be like. I have been dueling wrong my whole life"

" teach us how to duel"

The crowd seemed to be filled with praise. I wanted to appreciate the praise but my hunger was also waning down on me so I settled for just waving at them as I walked away with Yogan.

"Aah I didn't except I'd be losing today"

"It was an intense duel down to the last card played and it could have gone either way"

"Well you're right. Though good job on the win I think the receptionist from earlier was calling you-"

At the mention of the receptionist I ran off leaving Yogan behind.

"Oh Raizen, good to see you everyone liked your duel. You should come around here from time to time, let's exchange duel id's"

"Yeah we can exchange id's and all later for now can you guide me to that VIP room you promised"

"Sure, why don't you follow me" A familiar voice said from beside me.

As I turned to the side I smiled.

"Michio Mokota a pleasure" I said.

"Now you don't need to be so formal we're fellow duelists after all. I was impressed with your grit and ability to come back therefore it would be an honour to cook for you" He said as he began walking.

This guy is going to cook my food.

"I can't wait for it," I said, following him.

I sat alone in the room while Michio brought the food plate by plate. From Continental to Chinese I got to taste various foods that I had missed out on.

"So how was the food?"

"It was great"

"Well I'm glad to hear that. Seeing you battle like that I want to ask..are you planning on entering the miami championship?"

"As a matter of fact I am"

"Oh that's interesting to hear" He said as he smiled.

"I'm guessing you will be competing in it as well"

"Your guess would be correct. In the off chance that the two of us have to duel show me the same determination you showed Yogan"

"Well you can count on that"

After finishing my lunch I walked out stealthily trying to avoid any of the patrons in the restaurant.

With the tournament not far off I decided it would be better to head back to train with Yuto and Ruri.

Though one that thing had been on my mind for a while. That is my goal.

I had begun to change key events in the story for the sole reason of avoiding the end of arc V that I know.I know things all ended up for the better there but to me it wasn't satisfying.

Though it seems I had already changed the future. Why was I in the Xyz dimension, more importantly why am I here?

I guess I should add gaining information about myself to my list of goals
