Matthew 9: 1-8
Welcome brothers and sisters to another Bible Teachings, continuing once more through Matthew as we work towards Mark. After that some of you will notice the similarities towards each book in the bible. I know that every now and then that sometimes the chapters aren't following Matthew, but with the way this world is and how everything has come into place, we cannot ignore the world and act like there will be a tomorrow. That's why we all must be willing to take watch and see what events will happen and how Revelation will be fulfill, and if some of you are new believers or want to know Jesus, now is the time and now to give your worship to Jesus matter much for him and for yourself.
Healing of the Paralyzed man
In Matthew chapter 9 verse 1-3 speaks of Jesus going over to another town(Capernaum), At some point some people brought a man who is paralyzed from top to bottom. When they brought him to Jesus, he saw his faith in him and said to him, "Take heart, son; your sins have been forgiven." Yet when this happen some teachers of the law said what Jesus done is Blaspheming. Now to take a moment we need to look at this for a moment about what happen. First is when Jesus ministry towards all people around different places and people, he not only teach what is truth and righteous by God's standards and he is the Son of God. Christ Jesus also came forgiving their sins and healed many people of their illness, plagues and many great wonders that no one can do. What we should consider is how it happens.
For the Paralyzed man some of you know someone that is living this way or has been born like this, certain illness, body conditions or disabilities as many doctors, professors have discovered over the years. You have to imagine what his life is like to never move, to never walk, run, grab hold, hug or anything. This was a time that while some of our medicines can heal or solve thanks to God's gift for those becoming doctors and more. Yet we still have some problems that aren't easily solved, one of them being cancer, for many reasons we have more then one version of cancers, and with this going on these days we are living, many are rightfully afraid, yet those who trust in God shall not fear what is done to our bodies.
When they brought him to Jesus, you have to wonder how much he was willing to believe in Jesus and wants him to help. This takes greater faith then anyone would tell you, to place in something you have no understanding or what ideas how it will work out, that takes faith outside our control. Yet this he is willing and believed in Jesus, and knowing who is, Jesus said he forgave him and his faith is reward. This here shows when we place our faith in Jesus, many great things happen as we continue to have faith and be faithful in Christ Jesus. Many things are change in our life, painful but great changes that shows our willingness towards him and how we are truly change thanks to our faith. What Jesus did back then has brought many great and wonderous things that couldn't be describe or explain. Yet the very teachers of the law, given to them for years upon years in Israel had no belief or faith in Jesus, instead thinks he has done wrong because of traditions being broken. Now I cannot tell you all the laws back then, but the main point is when we place our traditions and laws over people, that when our heavenly father and Christ Jesus see as a problem. While there are some laws and traditions that are helpful, and benefit us on the long run. The main point that will be brought in next verses shows what Jesus is thinking of their accusations.
Matthew Chapter 9 verses 4-8, As Jesus knew their thoughts(and heart) he said to them, "Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts? Which is easier to say, "your sins are forgiven or get up and walk? But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on Earth to forgive sins." Then he said to the Paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home." When this happen the paralyzed man stood and walk home, this made many awe at Jesus praising God for what has happen. Now take note that this is from New Internationally version and some of the bible say different depending on the version. But the main point, here we see how Jesus handle the situation with those of unbelief and show them how the paralyzed man's faith is reward. For sometime people will always try to down play God and what he does for people, yet here this man went to Jesus, is forgiven of his sins, healed from his state and walk home with praise to God and his faith towards Jesus as Son of God. There is so much in the Bible we can say is more lessons about how we should live and sometimes are reminders why we seek God. Here we have Jesus showing himself in ways we would never do or expect and demonstrate how we need to live. We can't be Jesus so no ideas of that from anyone reading this, that is false teachings. But the point is we need to keep seeking our Lord Jesus everyday and every moment of our lives and lived the way God intended for us. While we won't get promises on this life, we will in our heavenly places, yet the choice to follow has to come from us willingly. For God can do much in us, yet we must to our own part as well.
