Dear Ma and Pa,
... ... ... I'm still here. I think? Don't ask! It's past lights out so I have to go now. I'll explain later!
With all my love,
Jay J. Walker
~January 9th, 2019~Evening/Almost Lights Out Time~
Jay sighed with relief as he finally finished his math homework. "Finally! I can write a letter home to my folks now!"
Kai glanced up from the novel he was reading for their literature class, one eyebrow raised. "You really like writing home... don't you?"
Jay just about bounced over to where he kept his letter writing supplies. "Yep!" Opening his drawer, he paused as he stared at its contents... or lack of contents. "Hey! Did one of you use up my writing supplies without telling me?"
"No." "Nope." "Negative."
Jay frowned, scratching the top of his head as he stared at the empty drawer. "Has Lloyd been in here recently?"
"Not that I know of." Zane sat his rather thick chemistry textbook down on his bed next to himself.
"Maybe we should track him down and see?" Cole suggested as he floated through his bedpost.
Jay shrugged, heading to the door. "We best hurry then. It's almost lights out."
...
"Come on! Where's my stuff!?" Jay was by now really freaking out. They only had minutes till lights out. And so far all they've been able to do was confirm that Lloyd's been sick all day and hasn't hidden his stuff. Nya and her friends have all been busy studying for the upcoming test in their history class.
Kai sprinted ahead of him, glancing down at his watch as he did so. "We have to hurry! Lights out is in two minutes!"
"What could possibly go wrong, we're just looking for some papers, envelopes and writing utensils along with a thing of postage stamps..." "Zane! Don't jinx us!"
Zane blinked in surprise as Cole's outburst, before hurrying after his friends that were leaving him in the dust... literally. Coughing slightly, he whipped around a corner to find that his friends were gone and Gunner and another ghost that was dressed like a punk biker, were there. Paling, he glanced around frantically to see if he couldn't find a way out of there before either one of them noticed him. He didn't need to be told that the ghost was Morro Windsä, an older student that has been held back so often that most his age was either done with university or finishing up this year.
"Hey! You! Nerd!" Morro snapped his head around to stare at Zane, much to his dismay.
Zane paled slightly, eyes darting everywhere in hopes in spotting another member of the chess club...or any of the clubs that he was into. None were in sight. Groaning, he turned to face Morro. "What do you want Morro?"
Morro floated over, a smirk on his face. "My homework still needs done. How about you do it for me."
"I don't do my friends homework for them when they ask me, and I most definitely won't do yours when you ask me." Zane took a small step back, carefully calculating how far and how long it would take him to get help from the girls.
"I wasn't asking." Morro made a fist, punching it into the palm of his hand.
Zane swallowed hard at that, sweat trickling down his forehead. "Leave him alone windbag."
"What!?" Morro gawked at his friend for this year, surprise flashing in his eyes as he stared.
Gunner curled his fingers into a fist, glaring at the older boy. "You heard me. Leave him alone windbag."
Morro spluttered at that, before crossing his arms across his chest. "What's gotten into you Gunner? I mean you don't even want to do a simple, harmless, prank anymore... and now you're standing up to a nerd?"
Gunner glanced sideways at Zane, before turning back to Morro. "Stealing the Walker kid's personal things for laughs isn't funny... or nice."
"Fine! Be boring!" Morro suddenly pulled out Jay's missing things, throwing them into the air before storming off.
Zane silently gathered the stuff up, confused on why Gunner would help him. "You best hurry. Your friends were talking about going back to your dorm to search there again." Gunner walked off as if he hadn't been Zane's personal torturer since kindergarten.
Zane shook his head, before rushing down the hall towards his dorm room.
...
"I can't believe it! Morro broke into our room?!" Jay clutched his belongings to his chest, his note-like letter to his folks already sealed as he stuffed everything back into his drawer.
Zane nodded numbly, even as he flopped backwards onto his pillow. "I know... though the fact that Gunner helped me and told Morro off. Those two have almost been inseparable all year."
"Key word there... almost. Obviously there's a wedge of some sort between them." Kai yawned as he stretched slightly, fangs flashing.
Cole groaned as he faceplanted himself into his own pillow. "Let's just get to bed already..."
"Lights out was three minutes ago!" Garmadon burst into the room, dark purple flames shooting into the air.
The four teens flinched, but didn't protest the accusation. "Sorry Sensei Garmadon..."
A/N: Done! Okay this chapter is on the short side but I can't think of anything else to add to it... Jay's letter is him worrying about Garmadon finding out that they were still awake.
Reviews:
Guest: Yes. It's coming up on my update list. Don't worry too much about it.
Guest: Maybe you should tell Crimson not to cheat... that will make it harder for her to win! Or is it a he..? You're right. It's the Cloud Kingdom archives, at least I presume they call it archives. I don't remember exactly what it is called but I would like to think that the Cloud Kingdom people use the term archives since that matches with what they store in my opinion. Okay... Glad to see that your excited...
Kifo Entiegon: That was the whole point of the story. The sleepover was a disaster. Yeah they most definitely won't be coming to anymore sleepovers. I know... I couldn't help it. They didn't even realize he was there until he spoke up...and then they noticed the portal behind him.
