The night grew longer and the air grew colder as the Sirens carried on with their vocals. The red glow from their geodes shone brighter by the second as the everyone in the crowd was engaged with their voices in the performance. Vezon silently watched from the far left of the amphitheater on a hill. He had his arms crossed as he observed the situation, "And so, the battle shall begin."

At the top of the hill behind the crowd and the seats, the Sonic Underground and Rainbooms were in their music uniforms with their instruments. Twilight wore a sapphire collared sleeveless shirt with a yellow star on the chest, a magenta purple skirt with gold stars, sky-blue and gold yellow tight-fitting pants, and hot pink slippers with sky blue stars.
Fluttershy wore a magenta purple and chartreuse green dress with butterflies and green and black stripes on the skirt, violet purple and ballet slipper pink tight-fitting pants, and bright chartreuse green slippers with a butterfly on the feet.
Applejack wore a parakeet green and strawberry pink T-shirt with a canary yellow skirt that had strawberry pink apples on it and an Aegean blue outline, a strawberry pink cowboy hat, parakeet green and strawberry pink tight-fitting pants, and gold yellow cowgirl boots.
Pinkie wore a magenta pink sleeveless shirt with a blue heart on the chest, a sky blue skirt with balloons in the colours of pink, yellow and blue, magenta and violet purple tight-fitting pants, and cerulean blue slippers with pink hearts.
Rarity wore a magenta pink dress with a cerulean blue star on the front of the right shoulder and music notes on the skirt, cerulean blue and fuscia pink tight-fitting pants, and taffy pink slippers with small blue diamonds.
Rainbow wore a sleeveless cerulean blue dress with a yellow lightning bolt over her left shoulder and black skirt that had blue, green, yellow and pinkish red lightning details, gold yellow and bright emerald green tight-fitting pants, and cerulean blue shoes with yellow lightning bolts.
Sonic had a microphone piece on his right ear and a white headband with a picture of his classic emblem on it. He wore an Aegean blue short-sleeve hoodie with gold yellow highlights, a white T-shirt with an image of a gold ring on the chest, a pair black and gold yellow striped fingerless gloves with a strap of sports tape on his left hand, stone blue sweatpants with red highlights, and silver running shoes with sky blue stripes.
Manic had a pair of sunglasses in his air. He wore a sleeveless black leather jacket with spikes on the shoulders, a pistachio green T-shirt, cobalt blue jeans with rips at the knees, and black striped shoes. He still had the same black earrings and gloves with spiked bracelets.
Sonia had a sky blue hair band in her hair. She wore a short-sleeve rose red jacket with gold highlights over a magenta pink T-shirt, a lavender purple skirt with a gold yellow music logo on the side and hot pink skin tight pants underneath, taffy pink and bumblebee yellow fingerless gloves with bright red and purple bracelets on her left wrist, and rose red boots with hot pink music logos on the top of the feet.
The Sonic Underground and Rainbooms felt strong at first before their expression changed to worry as they realized that their location only seemed to put them at a disadvantage. Rainbow wondered, "How are we supposed to play over them from up here?"
Immediately after she asked, the sound of a car horn honking came out from behind. Vinyl drove up to the bands in a white car. She pulled out a remote pressing a button, and her car began to transform into a high-tech fully functioning portable dj station; the tires becoming some of the speakers, rainbow LED lights on the front and Vinyl herself having the control panel.
"Whoa!" the Sonic Underground and Rainbooms said in awe.
Sonic smiled with confidence, "That'll do the trick."
Manic turned over to the Sirens and gasped at what he saw before he pointed at them, "We better get ready, everyone! Look!"
The Sirens raised their hands as bright red energy waves were sent out across the area and into the crowd. As they continued singing, the energy waves brought everyone in the crowd into a hypnotic state, causing them to gaze upon the Sirens without being able to look away.
Dazzlings: Feel the wave of sound
As it crashes down
You can't turn away
We'll make you wanna stay
The Siren's geodes flashed brightly as they started to hover in the air. Using the magic that they absorbed from the Rainbooms, they had their human ears replaced with pony ears, grew long ponytails, and formed dragon-like wings on their backs.
Dazzlings: We will be adored
Tell us that you want us
We won't be ignored
It's time for our reward
Now you need us, come and heed us
Nothing can stop us NOW!
The Sirens were confident enough at those lyrics they just said, right before the sound of two drum sets started playing along with other instruments and familiar voices. They looked around surprised and confused before Aria saw where the sound was coming from and pointed to the hill behind the crowd. Adagio looked in the direction and was shocked to discover that the Sonic Underground and Rainbooms escaped and were playing together.
The music being played by the two bands caused the crowd to come back to their senses. They seemed to be intrigued with not only the way the music sounded, but how the two bands worked together.
Sonic Underground and Rainbooms: Oh-oh, oh-whoa-oh
I've got the music in me
Oh-oh, oh-whoa-oh
Twilight: Don't need to hear a crowd cheering out my name
Sonic: I didn't come here seeking infamy or fame

Merging the two bands into the Sonic Rainbooms and the crowd hearing their music, the magic inside the girls and Sonic all started to release as they began to pony up. Adding Sonia and Manic to group to carry the Magic of Friendship, their outfits all became sparkly as the girls earned their pony ears and ponytails, Sonic and his siblings got hedgehog ears with Sonic and Manic having slightly longer hair and Sonia having a ponytail similar to the girls, and the three Mobians along with Twilight, Rainbow and Fluttershy all formed wings on their backs. Additionally, their hair each had two different brightly coloured highlights to match their clothing.
Sonic Rainbooms: Gonna break out, OUT! Set myself free, yeah
Let it all go, GO! Just let it be, yeah
Find the music in your heart, let the music make you start
To set yourself APART!
Adagio smirked as she saw this as an acceptable challenge and spoke out, "Ah, so the Sonic Rainbooms wanna turn this into a real Battle of the Bands? Then let's battle."
Adagio: What we have in store (Aria and Sonata: Ah-ah)
All we want and more (Ah-ah)
We will break on through
Now it's time to finish you!
The Sirens regained full control of the crowd once more as they started to reach deep into their powers. Their eyes glowed bright red and their geodes released a wave of energy which formed their Equestrian forms of dragons with fish tails. In the cause of this, the sky was filled with dark red clouds which happened to light up the land in its colour. The Sonic Rainbooms were shocked to witness.
"Whoa!" Sonia exclaimed.
"Holy cow!" Manic yelled.
The Dragon Sirens flew towards the Sonic Rainbooms as the Dazzlings all smirked in full confidence and power. As their Dragon forms flew and circled the group, some of them were afraid, but they all gathered the courage they could to fight.
Twilight looked and saw the Dragon Sirens flying towards them all at once. Sonic pointed to Vinyl, and Vinyl nodded as she adjusted the volume and activated some controls. Sonic turned back to face the Sirens as he called out to the bands, "Let's do it to it!"
Pinkie and Manic banged away on their drums as the Sonic Rainbooms began putting their magic into Vinyl's DJ station. Rainbow sound blasts fired out of the speakers as the Rainbooms powered it with their instruments and magic while the Sonic Underground fired lasers from their instruments. The incoming blasts caused the Dragon Sirens to scatter from each other and attempt to attack one by one.
Rarity tapped on her keytar and fired magic diamonds combining with Sonia's lasers from her keyboard at Aria's Dragon counterpart, causing her to cover herself from the blasts. Fluttershy used her tambourine to summon energy butterflies and fired them at Sonata's Dragon. Manic banged on his hi-hats and cymbals to back up Fluttershy's attack. Sonata's Dragon growled in annoyance by Fluttershy's butterflies right before Manic's combined with it, causing her to fly backwards. Twilight used her vocals and Sonic backed her up with his guitar, creating purple magic stars with blue aura and firing them at Adagio's Dragon. This caused Adagio to snarl as she had finally had enough of this. She started using her voice to block Twilight and Sonic's attack and force it back as her voice was higher than Twilight's.
Twilight and Sonic's feet shifted in the ground as Adagio's voice pushed them. Sonic yelled at the Dragons, "Come on!"
The Dragons Sirens all grouped up and started using their voices at the same time. The Sonic Rainbooms tried their best to fight back, but the force caused by the voices was too strong. They were all blown onto the ground with Twilight's microphone flying out of her hand. It flew in the air until it landed on the ground and rolled into Sunset's foot. Sunset picked up the microphone, but she was too nervous to intervene. The Sirens smirked with confidence as they felt their victory close within their grasp.
Up on the hill to the far left of the crowd, Vezon stood and watched patiently. Dreadlord and Nuker stood right behind him. Nuker looked extremely eager to attack, "What are we standing around for? They're weak! Let's eliminate them now while they're on the ground!"
Vezon held his hand up as he calmly replied, "The Siren's downfall is required for what is to come."
Back to the Sonic Rainbooms, the band all held themselves as they were on their knees struggling to stand up. Sonic rubbed his shoulder before he noticed Sunset holding the microphone. Seeing this as their chance, he called to her while holding out his hand, "Sunset Shimmer, we need you!"
Sunset was surprised and worried for a moment, before she quickly gathered herself the courage she needed to join in. She walked in front of the Sonic Rainbooms and held the microphone as she took off her jacket and let it fly away in the blowing wind. Vinyl tapped a button on her control panel and spun a record, starting a new tempo. Sunset started to sing showing her bravery and courage against the Sirens with her words showing that she wasn't in it for the glory or fame, but for the help from her friends.
Sunset: You're never gonna bring me down
You never gonna break this part of me
My friends are here to bring me 'round
Not singing just for popularity
Sunset helped Twilight and Sonic stand up. This caused the Dazzlings to get angry to see that they wouldn't give up despite the odds. The two girls and Sonic began to sing together as the rest of the Sonic Rainbooms got on their feet and began playing their instruments with Vinyl's song. The Dragon Sirens started flying towards them, all snarling in anger.
Sonic, Twilight and Sunset: We're here to let you know, that we won't let it go
Our music is a bomb and it's about to blow
And you can try to fight, but we have got the light of Friendship on our side!
Sonic, Sunset and Twilight all raised their hands and energy built up in their palms preparing to throw out a shockwave. Swinging their arms back out, they released a loud and powerful rainbow wave of energy that pushed the Dragon Sirens away from the united bands and blew over the crowd before colliding with the Dazzlings themselves. The teamwork and effort of working together with the magical music from the energy wave was strong enough to release the crowd from their spell and the red glow in the Dazzlings eyes had vanished.

And together we will never be afraid of the dark
The Sonic Rainbooms began to share their magic with Sunset as she began to hover in the air with an aura of magic and sparkles. Her human ears morphed into pony ears and her hair grew a ponytail as her clothes became sparkly like the rest of her friends. Together, the united bands of the Sonic Underground and Rainbooms all glowed in their colours and hovered in the air.

As the music of our Friendship survives, survives
Everyone in the crowd began singing with the bands, strengthening their magic and pushing it even further. Their friendship and teamwork combined with the energy fired a beam up into the sky, summoning their own magical creature to counter the Sirens.

And together we will never be afraid of the dark

Survives!
The Sirens were furious at the sight of the tables turning against them at the last minute. They looked up to see something that made their pony ears fold down in fear; a giant winged unicorn with rainbow mane created from the Magic of Friendship. The unicorn raised its legs in the air before firing a massive rainbow beam at the Sirens. At that moment, the Siren Dragons were overwhelmed by the strength of the music magic and they turned into dust. With the Dazzlings themselves caught in the blast, their geodes were overpowered and started to crack quickly.

At the sudden moment of the Dazzlings' geodes breaking from being overpowered by the Magic of Friendship, Vezon snapped his fingers and Dreadlord raised his staff before slamming it onto the ground with a loud shout. From the bottom of the staff which made contact with the ground came a wave of dark energy bursting out in the form of a giant bubble growing and spreading fast. The Sonic Rainbooms, the audience and the rest of the Mobians and heroes who hid in the background all gasped as they saw the massive dark cloud approaching fast. Everything that was covered by the cloud seemed to have just vanished from sight. The audience covered themselves in fear as the cloud went over them with their voices going silent as soon as they were gone.
Sonic tried to call out quickly, "Everyone, brace for-!"
But Sonic and the bands were covered by the dark cloud as well. The darkness covered the entire area ranging from the amphitheater to the hills and streets that were outside of it within five miles in all directions with the cloud itself remaining as a large dome.
In Canterlot City, news of the sudden appearance of the dark dome quickly went viral across town. People saw this on their TVs, laptops and phones and were immediately intrigued. The news started spreading across the country and even beyond.
Not too far away from the dome, the stranger who had appeared from before, Tempest stood next to a tree up on the top of a hill. He saw what had just happened, and his fist gripped tightly with the fabric in his glove stretching, "I won't lose you again."
Tempest got onto the ground on his hands and feet. Sparks of blue and orange lightning sparked around his body and his eyes glowed white. Taking a deep breath, then he started sprinting forward as extreme speeds towards the dark dome. Once he got close, he jumped off the ground and flew inside.
Shortly after the dark dome had appeared and everyone in the area was caught inside, Sonic moaned as he rubbed his head and sat up. He opened his eyes to see what had just happened and what he saw made him gasp. The natural colours of the space had turned into a pale tone of their original. Bits of black mist hovered in the air and within the surroundings, and it looked like whatever was outside of the dome was blocked by an outer space looking wall.
The rest of the Mobians and Rainbooms got up and looked around confused, worried and frightened. "W-w-what j-j-just happened?" Fluttershy shuttered.
"Where are we?" Silver asked.
Up on the stage, the Sirens laid on the wood unconscious from the sudden burst of magic and the dark dome consuming them.
The audience looked around in awe as they couldn't figure out what happened to the place around them. Then the next sound that everyone could hear was the sound of clapping. All eyes turned towards Vezon who clapped his hands with a smirk, "I will admit, the Sirens' downfall was more guaranteed than most would have thought. But it was necessary for what is required at this moment."
At that second, the rest of the heroes all busted out from under the stage, smashing their way out of it. The rest of the Mobians and Rainbooms gathered around in a big group. Vezon didn't seem all that phased, "Oh, and the nerve has been struck."
Having had enough of hearing him, Strike rushed right at Vezon and threw a punch at him, only for Vezon to move his head and dodge it before he kicked Strike in the stomach causing him to cough. Shadow threw Chaos Spears at Vezon, only for the dark speedster to deflect them with his hand before throwing negative lightning back. Shadow grunted as he got electrocuted and collapsed to the ground.
Specter then warped right behind Vezon, "Mind if I take a turn?!"
Specter swung a dragon kick at Vezon's head, but Vezon just managed to grab the Void user's leg without even looking behind him. He then tossed the coated hero at the others and Specter was knocked right into Knuckles.
Vezon shook his head as he disapproved of his opponents' performance, "Is this truly all you have? I had expected more. But alas, you have grown… rusty."
Specter got up with a smirk, "What? Like the energy bomb I stuck on your back when I warped in?"
Specter pulled out a small remote control and hit the red button. Immediately after, a small explosion went off right on Vezon's back, causing him to grunt loudly. But it was quickly followed by a chuckle, "Impressive, but insufficient."
Specter got onto his feet and summoned his Void sword, "Well, it was one of my old leftovers, but I was hoping for a more significant amount of damage."
Specter was about to engage when Vezon suddenly held Strike by the throat and created his energy arm blade with the blade itself just an inch away from Strike's throat, "One step closer and he dies!"
Specter stopped himself from rushing in. Vezon then made his blade vanish and held his arm out behind him. Out of the darkness stepped the Zeti, Dreadlord, Nuker and following behind them was what made the Rainbooms and the crowd gasp in utter shock; Fluttershout.
Even Mint herself was surprised at the sight of the evil Fluttershy, "This is… beyond what ah've seen in mah time."
Fluttershout turned her attention towards her doppleganger who was the most surprised of all. She just chuckled, "What's wrong, sister? You weren't expecting a version of yourself from your friend's dimension turning out to be quite the opposite?"
Fluttershy shuttered, "It.. it can't be. You're… you're…"
Fluttershout smirked, "Oh, it's true, sis. I really am Fluttershy. Just like you. Only stronger and feared."
Fluttershy perked in disbelief at this, "Y-you're not my sister!"
Fluttershout held her hands out, "Do you know how I became like this? Didn't Strike or Specter tell you? Oh, wait, that's right. Neither of them even knew a thing. Their absence from home left many of us vulnerable. Unprotected! In fact, I'm not even a metahuman. This power that I have obtained is more… supernatural."
Strike choked from Vezon's grip on his neck, "S- Supernatural?"
Fluttershout turned her head to Strike, "That's right. There was a powerful spirit of a late warrior that had the power to use her voice as a weapon. Not long after you and Specter had disappeared from our Earth, many lived in fear without either of you, even after what you did that day. The spirit was somehow released from her grave and found me. It's power made me this way. And you know what?"
Fluttershout held her hands in front of her as her red energy flowed out of them before they gripped tightly into fists with an evil chuckle following, "I… like it! I have never felt more like myself than ever. Only difference is, I'm so much braver now!"
Strike groaned, "Fluttershy… I'm sorry.."
"I told you…" Fluttershout scolded, "That name means nothing to me anymore. Just like the rest of my 'friends'. Especially Sunset Shimmer."
The Rainbooms all gasped at what they heard Fluttershout say in shock with Sunset covering her mouth in horror. Tails gripped his fist tightly as he thought to himself, "That spirit must have corrupted her mind! She's turned into a weapon!"
Vezon turned his attention back to Specter, "I do believe you were expecting Dreadlord and any one of his allies to arrive, yes, Specter?"
Specter replied, "Would the hidden mines answer your question?"
"Hidden what?..." Dreadlord asked, right before...
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! Several explosions went off from underneath the villains' feet. But when the smoke cleared, most of the Zeti, Dreadlord and Nuker were knocked off their feet while Vezon, Zavok, Zik and Fluttershout remained standing. Fluttershout raised her hand and brushed some dust off her shoulder with an expression of disapproval.
Specter blinked twice while standing frozen before turning to the others, "Well… I'm out of ideas and weapon grade explosives. Anyone else want a shot?"
Vezon then noticed the crowd next by, who were watching in horror and worry. He then looked down at Strike for a moment before a smirk appeared onto his face as he thought of something. He grabbed Strike by the head and pulled him up with Strike groaning in pain from the pressure.
Vezon spoke out to the crowd, "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I am pleased to see that you have all chosen to stay for the event. The battle between the Sirens of Equestria and the Sonic Rainbooms were entertaining, but nothing compared to what you will soon see. But first… allow me to show you the truth."
Vezon suddenly grabbed Strike's mask, and then he RIPPED it right off his head, revealing his face to the crowd. Everyone was shocked to see who it really was behind the mask. Flash was beyond surprised, "Strike? It's… you?"
Vezon tossed Strike towards the heroes. Silver managed to catch him with his psychokinesis. Once Strike was on his feet, he groaned as he couldn't stand up straight and almost fell to the ground if Sonic, Rainbow and Sunset hadn't helped him. He turned his attention towards the crowd with tears falling from his eyes, "I'm sorry, everyone. I didn't want to put you in danger."
Vezon chuckled as he dropped Strike's mask on the ground before using his Negative Speed Force lightning to set it on fire, "Oh, you poor child. The reveal of who was behind this ridiculous disguise was inevitable. They would've found out, one way or another."
Vezon then held his arms as he made his voice loud for all in the place to hear, "And so, here we are at long last. Our recent events have been building up to this very moment. A standoff between powerful groups with extraordinary abilities. Now… how will this end?"
Specter called out, "With an epic battle likely involving "the Power of Friendship", rainbows and lots of explosions!"
Everyone just looked at Specter with a puzzled expression as Knuckles just said, "Shut up."
Specter looked around in response, "What? Did I say something wrong?"
