If only
"Let me get this straight. You erased young Midoriya's memories because you hate your siblings because of…reasons. So, you were afraid of the boy meeting them and even remembering them."
"If you want a more simplicity answer. Yes. That's about right."
It was a bright sunny day so to avoid sunlight, Kurama and Toshinori saw shelter in the shade of a café canopy. The two of them decided to meet each other this morning for the conversion Kurama promised to the other. It was slight delayed due to the Todoroki dinner invitation. That was an interesting story to tell the other. They then found a nice coffee shop in a well shaded area. It was small and out of sight perfect for the Servamp. So, they ordered a couple of drinks and proceeded with their talk. It involved a long explanation on Subclasses which poor Toshinori still didn't have a complete grasp on. Giving blood to a dying human. Becoming immortal after. All for the price of being loyal to him. Although the Servamp let them all go years ago. He wasn't entirely sure what they were doing but he was confident they were well enough to survive. Then there was the sadden realisation of the late Hisashi Midoriya. Toshinori had to keep a mental note to avoid triggering an episode for the boy. Then of course there was the other Servamps. Kurama made it very clear that he hated all of them and wanted nothing to do with them. Even more so he wanted them nowhere near his Eve. If they do. They will suffer his wrath. For good reasons. Kurama's hatred ran deep for the horrid fact that they killed their own father. Toshinori knew the pain well.
Toshinori took a long sip of his tea. The cup looked so small in his massive bony hands. He just needed a couple of seconds to process it all. It was quiet an information dump for him to think through. "I see. I understand where all your protectiveness comes form. But I find it a little hard to believe all your siblings wanted that. Forgive me if I sound a little insensitive. They can't be all bad."
The Servamp let out a sad chuckled while stirring his tea with a spoon. "Funny. My Eve said something similar as well." The first to come to mind was his older brother greed. Out of all his siblings he was the one most admitted reaching him for god knows why. Still he couldn't deny he was helpful that one time. When he lost himself for a second, he couldn't remember what he did. Just that he got…destructive. "I don't know. I want to avoid them if I can help it. For my own sanity at least." Then he eyed the man before him. His red as glued to the other face. Toshinori could feel the gaze and tried to hide himself in his cup. Didn't work out too well. Even in his normal from everything looked small compared to him. "What about you?"
"What about what?"
"You know the feeling of lost as well. I can sense it. Kind of my thing as the Servamp of melancholy. as well as the hatred that comes with it. They were taken away too soon as well I would guess."
Gulping down the rest of his dink, Toshinori nodded. Kurama already knew the story. How his master was brutally murdered but the hands of the Villain All for One. What he doesn't know was how much that woman meant to him. Nana Shimura. She gave him a chance of a lifetime. To become the hero, he always wanted to be. Before then they were master and student. His childhood wasn't the greatest. Being one of the few quirkless kids in the area he was often picked on by one of the other stronger kids. Life was even harder after he become a runaway. His real parents were toxic, and he couldn't handle it. Nana was a saviour to him. She helped him get into U.A. Help pay rent for this reasonably priced and quality place that didn't have a hole the roof. She helped put him on his current path of life. For her to be taken away so easily. Right in front of him. It was too much. So, he understood the Servamp's caution and hatred. He hated All for One more than anything. He only hated himself more for not being strong enough to save her and failing to avenge her. After all that madman was still out there.
Sadly, the Servamp smiled. "My how unheroic. Even the Symbol of peace is no sanit." Then he carefully clapped a hand over the hero's. It was trembling just a little bit. That was until it was secured in place by the Servamp's smaller hand. "You and I have more in common than I thought."
Toshinori, sadly smiled with him. "I suppose we do." He soon shook off the sad smile and looked up at the happy sky above them. It was a beautiful day. He saw no reason to waste it. "How about we go get some ice cream to cheer yourself up. A nice cold treat is perfect for today."
Kurama growled at the sun. "I prefer rain. At least then I won't need to reform my blades into a parasol to walk around. It's draining to do that for long periods of time,"
"You can just stay in your fox from. I'll carry you."
"You are skin and bone. It is very conformable for me to constantly feel your bones. And your hair feels like prickly hay. Unlike my Eve's. Soft like a cloud."
"My hair isn't that bad…is it." Then then proceeded to pat out and feel out his hair to see if it was that bad. It didn't seem that bad. It felt perfectly fine to him. Or was it. His ends do feel a bit rough. Does he need new conditioner? Should he ask young Midoriya.
Kurama watched on amused. Honestly, messing with the hero has become one of his favourite pass times. It's just too easy and funny to look at. Watching his lanky arms and hands roughing up his own hair like there was something in it. He was making his hair look worse than usual. With his straights going every which way. Yup. One of the best regular sources of entertainment. While happily sipping his tea, a familiar sensation shot up his spine. His head shot up and glanced around. He could feel it. It was close. Incredible strong. It was something he could not ignore.
Toshinori was still messing with his hair until the Servamp hopped up from his seat. He was staring off at the distance with a determinate look. "Something wrong?" Either ignoring the hero did not notice him the Servamp dash off into the crowd. "Wait! Hold on! Tsubaki!"
The chase was on. Toshinori did his best to follow the Servamp but since he was in his fox form it wasn't that easy. He constantly had to apologising for bumping into people. Got a lot of odd looks too. Not that was strange in his current from. Still be managed to stay on sight of the black blur. Suddenly, there was a stop. He saw the fox dart into an ally before transforming back to human. Toshinori grip the walls for support. He panted barely able to ask what was that all about. Then he heard something in the ally.
"Don't come apart. Don't come apart." Whispered a desperate voice. At little ways into the ally was a man huddled in a foetal position. His arms where wrapped over and around his head. Hands clawed into his sleeves as if trying to hold them in place. He did everything he could not to come apart.
Toshinori was at a lost. Every part of him was screaming. Help him. The problem was he wasn't sure how. There was no villain to fight this time. Only a man in terrible distress. It was then Kurama acted. He calmly walked towards the man until he was directly in front of him. It seemed like the man noticed him since his panicked eyes wondered upwards. The Servamp then smiled politely while holding out his hand. "What's the matter young one?" he asked in the kindness tone Toshinori ever heard him speak. It was gentle and inventing. Almost parental.
"I just…I don't want to…I'm scared."
"Now, now. Steady your breathing." The Servamp then plotted himself next to the man. He ensured there was some distance between him. He didn't want to get too close too fast and make the stress man uncomfortable. "You look like you have an interesting story to tell. Will you tell it to me?"
The man clearly had his guard up. He inched himself further from the Servamp. Even hesitated from speaking. "I…It's really nothing." He looked like he wanted to run once the opportunity strikes.
Then Toshinori acted. He followed the Servamp's actions and plotted himself at the other side of the man. Like the Servamp he kept a little distance. "I'm sure both of us will be willing to hear it anyway. What's your name if you don't mind me asking?"
Curiously, the man let down his arms. He revealed a very tired face. Forehead full of stress lines and something else. There was a striking scar running down it. His hair was a mess of short dirty blonde locks and his dark eyes were heavy with bags. His head dropped a bit as his arms wrapped over his legs. "My name is Jin Bubaigawara."
"Awe darn. Lost again," Uraraka groaned as she tugged at her hair strands that framed her face.
"You're really good at this Midoriya." Iida complimented while leaning between his two smaller friends.
Laughing nervously, Izuku spouted a quick thanks before averting his eyes away from them. It's not that he was really good. It's just that both his friends were really bad in comparison. Not that he had the heart to tell them that. He looked up at the screen. The words victory flashing in front of him. A hollow victory considering his opponents.
After he mess that was the Todoroki dinner and with Tomura nowhere to be seen; he was feeling more than a little down. Being the good friends that they were both Uraraka and Iida took it upon themselves to cheer him up. The two of them dragged their sad friend out on a trip. They did some window shopping before they ended up at the local arcade. He was eyeing at the outside entrance wondering about Tomura. His two-friend seemed to notice and dragged him in. They played some games and Izuku was quick to notice both were terrible. Iida has never set foot into an arcade in his life. Said they were too much of a distraction. As for Uraraka. She found they eat too much money for her liking. He couldn't blame either of them, but it was getting kind of dull beating them again and again.
I know they're trying to help but this is getting ridiculous. "You guys really you don't have to play with me. We can find another game. One with teams."
"But this is the 5th game you beat us on. We can't stop until we beat you at something!" Uraraka declared with her face puffed out in fruition. You wouldn't think she was the sore loser type with how cheery and bubbly she usually was. But boy did she gave Izuku the evil eye with his consecutive win streak. At this point she just want him to lose. It didn't matter to who or in what game. She would even accept a victory in rock paper scissors.
"Tsk, you should surrender. You're obviously a noob. No way you can beat a guy with experience." Said a new voice. The three turned around and spotted an older teen not to fair away from the. He was leaning against a pillar with smug grin. They couldn't make out all of his face since it was mostly hidden in the shadows of his crummy hoodie.
Uraraka cheeks puffed out more as she placed her hands on her hips. "I'd like to see you do better."
Surprisingly or not so, the older teen accepted. He carelessly bashed between the two and rushed straight to Izuku's side. The shorter boy eyed him up wondering what his deal was. Although the more he looked at him the more he looked familiar. Especially his pasty skin. It looked kind of dry too. The older teen was quick to slot in a coin challenging the other to a fight. Since they've gotten this far Izuku had no right to refuse. So, he inserted a coin himself and readied his hands on the buttons. It was a simple Vs fighter game. Not much to it besides well-timed button mashing. The two of them picked their characters and began the first match.
Safe to say the older teen was clearly no noob. With how fast his hands were moving this was not his first time. Not only was he fast he was precise. He countered all his attacks like pro. Izuku's two friends watched behind them as the older teen beat their unbeatable friend soundly. With a smug smile he glanced over at his opponent. Izuku mouth was hanging along with his friends. More so in awe than in shock of his defeat. "Looks like you're a noob too."
Snapping out of his adoring trace, Izuku shot a look at his opponent. "It's only the first round. I'll beat you next round." True to his word Izuku snatched a victory. Took more effort than he was willing to admit but he did it.
"Don't get cocky yet. There's still one more round." The final round. Both hunched down with their game faces on. Hands ready on the joystick and buttons. The timer dramatically flashing before their eyes.
3…2…1…Fight!
In blinding speeds, the two of them mashed buttons and joisted their sticks like there was no tomorrow. It looked random to an outsider but these two knew what they were doing. They knew the combos. The counters. Little things that only someone who spends way too much time in an arcade would know. There was only a slight difference in skill. Still he was enough to clench the victory for one of them. Holding his arms high, the older teen punched his fist up in victory.
The other two watching behind them clapping in awe at the victory. As for Izuku he could not stop smiling. It has been awhile since he found playing against someone difficult. Or anyone at all. He didn't really had friends till now. So usually that someone was a computer, and they aren't that hard to beat with practice. "Good game," the younger teen cheered while expanding a hand. The older teen physically froze. It baffled Izuku. "What's the matter?"
"I…hum…"
Izuku lean in curiously. The more he did the more the older teen looked familiar. Then he stopped when he met the other's eyes. They were a bright shade of red. His body frozen for a moment as he gulped down his fear. That's when he noticed the curst around them. His whole face was crusty like… "T…" his world stuttered for a moment for a split second. They world went slow as he had a pasting glanced to his very confused friends. His eyes so returned to the other teen looking panic. He said the next word that came to mind. "enko…"
"…" The was an awkward pause but at least he saved It.
"Tenko! You're ok!" the boy the jumped at the taller teen a whispered in his ear. "What are you doing here."
"Is it a crime to be bored and wanting to kill time in an arcade now," Shigaraki hissed back at the young hero hanging from his neck. "Also, you're kill my neck. Let go of me already."
Izuku quickly let go and apologised. His friends rounded up behind him and greeted the villain. Although, they have yet to figure that out. Izuku was quick to make up a story. Luckily, it was a story they heard before. "So, you're the friend that disappeared without a word. That was rude of you. you could have at least said goodbye. Deku was really worried," Uraraka mildly scolded with Iida backing her up with stern nods.
"In my defence I didn't have much of a choice." Yeah, he was suddenly broken out of jail. There were no times for goodbyes. Not like they should know they yet or ever.
Suddenly, a pair of arms wrapped themselves around Izuku. The boy panicked unsure of what to make of them. Then a head plot onto his shoulder. Some strands of blonde hair poked at his eye. "What's going on here?" Behind Izuku was a wildly grinning schoolgirl with pointy fangs. Her blonde hair tied up in a pair of messy buns. "Who's this cutie?" she asked while rubbing her cheeks on a very red and uncomfortable Izuku. In a split second she slipped away and followed herself warping her arms around the other two young heroes. "And these cuties."
Personal space being invade aside they all had to ask who she was. She happily gave the answer even though Shigaraki wanted nothing more than for her to shut the hell up.
"I'm Himiko Toga. Nice to meet you all." Her eyes darted around the trio with wild curiosity. Most of the time her eyes landed on Izuku. He doesn't know why but something about her eyes seemed… psychotic. They soon gleamed with even more wild excitement than before. "I think I get it now." She hopped out form the gap between Iida and Uraraka and skipped over to Izuku. Then she grabbed his hands, much to his discomfort, and leaned so close into his face their noses could touch. "You're the boyfriend!"
"…I'm sorry what?"
"HUHHHHHH!" Izuku pair for friends screamed from behind.
It was then Shigaraki jumped into action. He hooked an arm at the girl's neck locking her into a head lock. She did seem to mind though. Only laughing in pure amusement while her arms tried to force the grip lose. Just enough for her to breath. "I can't believe you just said that!" He screamed in her ears only receive happy laughter in response. "For the last time he is not my boyfriend!"
Izuku thought for a couple of seconds while his friend still had gaping mouths behind him. "Well you are a boy and I want to be your friend. So, I guess it's not too off the mark if you mean it like that." his friends mouths dropped even more. He can't really be this dense right?
Even Shigaraki couldn't believe. He didn't think the kid would be this stupid. With a flushed face he yelled: "Don't encourage her! You know what she meant, and you know we are not like that!"
"Awe! So cute" she sang while swing her suspended legs. "If not boyfriend crush then!"
Tightening his hold more, Shigaraki hoped to silence her. Or even better knock her out so she wouldn't bother him any further. "I don't have a crash. Shut the fuck up." If they could see under his hoodie. They would see his face lit up as red as his eyes.
It was then two other teens walked into their vicinity. One was a Lizard mutation boy and the other was hidden in a hoodie and a scarf over his face. They both wondered what was going on which Toga was more than happily to explain. "I found him! Shi…"
"Shimura!" Izuku was quick to interrupt. All eyes on him now he had to think fast. Hopefully, the girl could play along with him. "Are you all Tenko Shimura's friends? He never really talks about those things much."
Luckily, Toga got the hint and nodded. "Yeah. We're his friends." The other two introduced themselves as Dabi and Spinner. Both far more warry of the younger heroes than their bubbly and touchy female companion. Uraraka and Iida still where in the dark of what was really going on. It was never racking on Izuku part. He guessed that these guys were villains but what bothered him the most was how young they looked. They didn't look villains. Then again that girl radiant an uncomfortable aura. Still there was a silent agreement that if they didn't say anything about it either should he. Izuku was oddly willing to accept this temporary unspoken truce. Only if that meant he could speak to Shigaraki. Privately preferably.
Then as if fate wanted to mess with him at this moment, more people the boy knew suddenly showed up. "Oh hi. You are out and about too?" Greeting the ever-growing group were 3 other U.A students. Tsuyu, Tokoyami and Shoji. The three of them bumped into each other earlier and decided to stick together. They saw Izuku's green hair at the distance and decided to come up and say hi. Much to Izuku's misery. However, he might be able to use this to his advantage.
"Hi guys. What a coincident bumping into you here. I'd like to stay and chat with all of you, but I just reunited with a friend I thought I lost. So, he and I need to have a long talk. You lot can hang out in the meantime. Got to go. Talk to you all later!" he hastily said before griping Shigaraki by the arm and dragging him fair beyond their sights.
Alone with each other the newly from group of teens glanced at each other questionable. Both sides waited for the other to make some sort of move. Couse the situation was made more awkward to the few that new the full picture. Villain kids and hero kids together. The hero kids maybe still in the dark on that but that didn't make it less awkward. Most of them questioned what was up with their green friend. He seemed oddly tense.
Finally, one of them broke the ice. "I guess we don't have a choice. Since we're all here let's have some fun!" Toga cheer while skipping in place. Her eyes targeted both a very confused Iida and Uraraka. She happily grabbed both their hands and asked if they liked to dance. They both gave her a questioning yes which was good enough for her. Without a seconded to spare the three of them disappeared.
The remaining teens again looked at each other. Not sure what to do next. "Hi," Tsuyu greeted the Lizard teen next to her. Might as well get some form of plenaries out the way. The other two followed her lead and greeted the remaining duo more formal than the average teen.
Dabi the more chill in the situation gave a half-hearted two finger salute in greeting. He didn't want to mingle with these younger hero teens. He was just here to kill time. Spinner on the other hand. Well he went black for a second or two. The moment the frog girl said hi he entered at trance. His mouth hanging out ever so slightly. It took a while of the others to notice. They even poked at him to see if he was still in there. No response.
Worried, Tsuyu called out to him. "Are you ok?"
At her words and closeness, he snapped out of his trance. "P-p-pretty girl!" he squeaked much to his instant regret soon to come. There was a brief pause of proceeding before he realised what he just said. His green scales flushed red. Don't ask why that was possible it just was. "Did I say that out loud!"
The other teens chuckled. It seemed to have been the perfect ice breaker for them. "You sure did kid. You sure did," Dabi chuckled while patting his shoulder.
Tokoyami had a girl on his beak as he turned his much larger companion. "It seems like this one had been entranced by our frog maiden's beauty."
Shoji nodded along. "It would seem so."
All the while Spinner smacked his hands round his eyes wishing he could disappear. That was until said pretty girl lean up to him smiling. "Thanks. You're not so bad looking yourself."
Spinner was at a complete lost for words at the compliment. How was he supposed to respond to that? He couldn't. This was a first for him. A girl. A very pretty one at that. Complimenting on his lizard looks. It was mind blowing to him. Then he felt a couple of hands at his back. He looked up to see a grinning scar face Dabi. He was pushing him closer to the reaming U.A trio. Why he would soon fine out. "I knew if I followed you guys it would end up being entertaining. Now I have a couple of hours to kill before I have to go. So, entertain me." With one good shove the lizard boy found himself in the very hefty arms of Shoji with Tokoyami and Tsuyu at either side of him.
"Dabi, you asshole!" he screamed. Dabi paid him no mind. He simple waved lazily as the U.A trio dragged the lizard boy away. They converse with themselves. Asking each other what they should do first. They tried to ask Spinner too, but he was too busying glaring at his companion for his betrayal.
The oddly made groups had some fun of their own. Toga, Uraraka and Iida ended up playing dance revolution with each other. Toga was killing it will some crazy moves of her own. She jumped and flayed her arms in time with the beat like a pro. Then there was Uraraka next to her. She was keeping up just as well. A few miss steps but she was confident she would catch up. Really, she just wanted to win something today. Iida wasn't so good. Honestly, he looked like a robot with two left feet. His arms robotically moved, and his legs crisscrossed together. Almost tangling themselves to try and keep it. There were more than a couple of times the girl stopped what they were doing in fear the boy would trip off stage.
As for Spinner and the other three U.A students they ended up playing a bunch of random games with the goal of rack up some points. It all started why Spinner saw something in the prize counter he wanted. A massive sword replica of a game he was a fan of. Problem was it caused a hell of a lot of points. Luckily for him the other three were more than willing to help. It was funny the way Spinner eyes lit up the more points they racked up together. Seeing him happy made the other three happy. Also made them that more decimated to win the prise for him while having fun.
As for Shigaraki and Izuku they ended up talking about this and that while playing this and that. It didn't really matter what. They just wanted some time together. It was a mutual feeling. One they were both more than willing to fill. "You are doing alright? Eating well. Not getting into too much trouble."
"For the last time I'm fine. Don't worry yourself."
"I will worry myself."
"Humph. So annoying."
The two of them bantered while playing a racing game. It was a calm enough game for them to have a causal conversation. Sitting down while turning a wheel. That was until one of them was nearing the finish line. Then it was no hold bars. Both entered the zone used a couple of cheap tricks to get the upper hand. Those cheap ticks prove themselves handy as Izuku claimed the victory. He cheekily grinned at the other boy who humped out a pouty 'hacks'. Which Izuku wittily replied. "Hacks that are a part of the game."
"I still say you're a cheater."
"Hey this is pay back for the glitch combo you pulled on me in that last game."
"It was a part of the game. So, it's completely legal."
"How is that any different form me!"
The two of them soon laughed at how ridiculous they sounded. They then turned around to see how their companions were doing. They were all scattered about the place laughing their heads off in delight. You couldn't even guess that they were heroes and villains respectively. Right now, they just looked like your every day average teens. Just having fun. Toga, Uraraka and Iida seemed to have gotten tired form dancing. It was more so Iida. Poor boy looked like he was about to collapse if it wasn't for Uraraka holding him up. Toga was surprisingly nice enough to get the three of them drinks. So normal. Spinner, Asui, Tokoyami and Shoji counted to rack up points. Each of them was at their own games looking to maximised point production. The lizard boy literally screamed when one of them hit the jackpot. He jumped at the with the biggest hug he could give them. They were more than happy to replicate. So normal. Lastly, there was Dabi hanging around the back. Their eyes meet for a bit then wonder off. What was going on in his mind? He looked happy with a slight smirk on his face. That was until he glanced at his watch. No sooner than he did he left the area without a word.
"I wonder where he's going?" Izuku questioned aloud.
Shigaraki didn't care to know. He never really trusted that one, but he did have him an idea. Without thinking much of it he carefully wrapped the smaller teen's hand. He was extra careful to have his pink finger lifted. Last thing he wanted was to hurt the boy. "Let's get out of here. It's too loud. Especially with those guys." His eyes shifted down to the other boy. Izuku looked back at him stunned. Slight doubt settled in while the grip on his hand laxed. The young villain stared at their linked hands. "Is this ok?"
Smiling his dumb smile, Izuku griped their hands tighter together. "This is more than ok." With that said the two of them quickly left the others behind. Not that they noticed. They were having too much fun themselves.
Back with All Might and Kurama well they just finished with their own little adventure. It involved a chase for cat through garbage bins. Running after a garbage truck and accidentally running into an ice cream stand. At least they got their ice creams and the item they were chasing after. A black and white elastic mask that could over a head of a person. Jin was thrilled. It was a hassle to get back after his wrestling match with said cat. He would have won. If the little menace didn't reject his humble offering of food. He was trying to be nice. But now he has his mask back and ice cream.
Toshinori and Kurama were nearby with their own flavour of choices. They only suffered minor injuries in the event. Mainly from the cat. It was very angry cat with very sharp claws. Kurama was kind enough to patch up the scratches they all obtained. Toshinori said that he was fine but the Servamp was not taking no for an answer. He already patched Jin. As himself he was a Servamp. Small scratches like that are nothing to them. They would disappear in no time. Toshinori was not a Servamp and as the real Servamp kept remaining him he is human. He will be treated like one. Weather the old hero likes it or not. "Hold still fool."
Trying to push him back while protecting his ice cream with one hand, the hero groaned, "I told you I'm fine. It's only some minor scratches."
"And I'm telling you you're a fool." He hissed back while plastering a band aid on the hero's cheek.
Jin, stared at the two of them while licking his Ice cream. They were an odd pair he concluded. He liked them he also concluded. He already told his life story to them. He doesn't even know if he's real after that incident with his quirk. Having to kill his other selves. Went a little…a lot crazy. Since then he was always afraid of showing his face. In case he had to fight himself again or realise he was a fake after all. They kind about it too. They did not judge. Even help him find the cat that stole his mask. Sure, they had to run halfway around town, but he got it. He stared at the mask in his hand. "Thank you. Both of you. It means a lot to me."
As Kurama pinned the other down to put another band aid on their cheek, he turned over his shoulder and said it was no trouble. Even Toshinori gave him a thumbs up. Both were more than willing to help. After forcefully, patching the skeleton man up they join Jin properly seated on the bunch in the shade. Kurama took a licked his chosen treat. Sea salt ice cream. An unusual flavour. Just the way he liked it. His eyes every once and awhile wondered back to this man they found. He understood why he was attracted to him. The scent of melancholy was all over him and his story. An interesting one that sounded like he came out of a horror book. Watching yourself getting killed by yourself. Although he had one question: "Is there a way to different yourself with your clones."
"Tsubaki," Toshinori hissed under his breath. The last thing he wanted was to make the clearly fragile man answer any uncomfortable questions.
Jin was surprisingly cooperative. He liked the two of them enough to tell them. Not like It will hurt him in the future. The difference was simple. That clone will melt when enough damage is done to it. Simple.
An interesting piece of information. One Kurama believed would be very useful. He pointed up at the scar on his forehead and asked if that was always there. The answer was no. It was given to him by himself as confusing as that may sound. The Servamp grinned wildly with a devilish idea. How very interesting. He causally stepped up for face Jin still seated down with an ice cream cone in hand. He looked up at the Servamp questionably.
Slap!
Then he was sent flying with a slap half a meter away from them. In the poor ice cream scoop was sent flying. It did not survive. Toshinori screamed and rushed over to help Jin. His cheek was heavily swollen but overall, he was ok. Could use an ice pack or two though. He shot a glare at the smiling Servamp behind him. "Why?"
Kurama just laughed and shrugged his shoulders innocently while taking another lick of his ice cream. "Just checking. If he was a clone he would be melting now right?" He had a point. Jin wasn't dying so he was real. He was real all along. Kurama giggled at the wide eye realisation in the man's eyes as well as his growing smile. "Such a foolish human. You should have known you were real. That scar on forehead is the biggest indication. You were hurt by your clones but did not disappear because you were the real deal. How stupid of you to not figure that out till now."
Tears fell down the side of Jin cheeks. His lips curled more and more. for the first time in a long time. he knew he was real. "Awshhse." He then lunched himself at the Servamp rubbing his snot nose and tear eyes in his chest. "Thank you!" The weight of the man suddenly launched at him cause the Servamp to stumble off balance. The Servamp soon transformed back into his fox from being crushed under the weight of the man on top of him. Jin quickly noticed the change the more he hugged the…man? What was this fox doing in his place? He stared at the fox curiously, "where did you come from little guy?" Then his crazier side yelled out a horrible theory. "Did you eat my new friend! Bad fox! Spit him out!" He demanded while truing the fox upside down and shaking him to save his new friend.
Toshinori had to come to the rescue and take the fox out of his hands. The little fox looked like he was about to puke on his suit. Which he hoped he didn't. He quite like this suit. "Are you ok?"
"Eeehhhh…" the foxed wheezed out trying to get air back in his system. "This is the last time I help a strange human that is not on their death bed."
Recognizing the voice, Jin leaned closer to the fox. He inspected the little guy closely and poked at his nose. "Friend?"
"I have a name," He remained him.
"You're a talking fox?"
"Such an uninteresting question. Why is that the one thing you humans seem so interested in. An animal that can talk is not that novel." His eyes rolled round until they locked onto Toshinori watch. His eyes panicked at the time. "It's already so late. I must return to my Eve." There was no other warning than that form the fox. He jumped out of Toshinori arms and rushed out. Despite the two he was will yelling at him at the distance. Wondering why the hurry. He didn't stop and turn around. He was on a strict time limit.
Izuku and Shigaraki found themselves in a quite area not too far away. No one around but a couple of birds. Shame really it was a beautiful place. Hidden behind trees and bushes. So lush and green. Wildflowers sprouted in patches. Surreal. That's the word. It was even more perfect with the sun shining down producing a blanket of cool shade. The two boys sat side by side beneath the shade. They stared up at the pasting clouds. Pointing at the funning shaped ones. One looked like a fox which Shigaraki dubbed 'furball'. One looked like a hand which Izuku dubbed one 'look it's you'. The other teen poke at him for that comment. Still they laughed. "this was really fun."
"Yeah so much better than jail. Thank you for putting me in there by the way," Shigaraki hissed with obviously sarcasm.
Izuku shirked into his body. "You remember?" Yes, Shigaraki did remember. What he couldn't figure out was why he was made to forget in the first place. The answer was simple and one that he should have expected. "Kurama was worried I would get too much unwanted attention if they knew it was me. To protect me he made everyone forget. Not just you." His eyes slidover to the other. "Are you mad at me."
Thinking about, Shigaraki wanted to say yes. He really wanted to say yes. But the more he thought about it the more he couldn't even imagine regretting any of it. All those times they met in that small room. Nothing separating them but a sheet of glass. Those stupid even random conversations. The hero's smile and laughter. "No…I guess. I met you so it wasn't a complete waste of time. You're like a mystery/ unexpected attainable character that first-time players never dream of ever being able to get. A rare item. I guess the RNG was really in my favour. Lucky me."
The young hero couldn't help but laugh out loud. "Me? A rare item? Now I know you're exaggerating."
"Nah you're definitely a rare item. Or a rare event I was somehow able to trigger. You are definitely no common NPC. You look like one though."
Izuku snorted at that comment. "Gezz thanks. Although I'll give you probs for clever wording. Never heard been called plain like that before."
"You're welcome," the young villain lazily said while mockery bowing at the hero. Then he couldn't keep his eyes off of the boy. That burning desire he had was overflowing again. It was even stronger now that he was here. Right next to him. The young hero noticed the other's heated gaze and asked what was wrong. Without a second to think he burned out his desires. "Can I hug you?" it sounded so stupid out loud. Just a major instant regret moment that turned out great.
The small boy was more than happy to fulfil that desire. He jumped on the top the villain and wrap his arms tightly around the villain's torse. "Silly. You didn't need to ask."
His curls rubbed themselves at his musky hoodie. God, he hoped it didn't smell that bad. Even if it did Izuku didn't seem to mind. Carefully, Shigaraki hugged back. With each pasting moment he become more confident. His hold on the smaller boy became tighter yet more relax. As expected, he was so warm. Soft too. A smile formed over the villain's cracked lips. Just a little longer. Let him hold him a little longer. Let this last…forever. It was selfish but who cares. He wanted this. "Izuku?"
Curiously, the boy looked up to the other. "What is it?"
"Join me."
Back in the arcade, Toga, Uraraka and a very tired close to a malfunction Iida were just about done with their dance battle wars. Iida being the very clear loser and Uraraka being the overall winner with Toga only a one match win behind. Overall, it was a good day. Besides Iida nearly puking this one point. "Take it easy, Iida. We're not going to go again."
"Thank…gaps…good…gaps…ness," Iida wheezed out while hold on to his rose cheek friend for the how ever many times it's been. "It has become very clear to me I am not one for dance revolution. No pro level or otherwise. Really, he should have quit while he was ahead. He had a decent score on some of the easer levels they played. Only got worse when they up the difficulty. No one could say he didn't try. He really did try. A bit too hard. Then it felt a stinging sensation on his hand. Across his palm was a fresh cut. Where he got it from, he wasn't too sure. He didn't even notice it until now.
Someone else did though. Their eyes homed in on the cut. The blood oozing to the surface of the body's skin. Their mouth salivated at the thought. Those of taste buds tinging with glee. It was only further enhanced when they knew who they boy was. They didn't pick these two off the fly. They wanted Uraraka because she was cute. Even cuter during her nearly bloody match with that explosion kid. They wanted Iida because he got closer to him. Her dear Stainy. Her inner instincts took over. In a blink of an eye she was already at the boy's hand and licked the exposed blood. So, so good.
"Are you ok?"
Her senses soon returned as she remembered what she did. Her excitement settled into fear. It has been a long time since she felt this. Back before she chose to free herself. Back when she had to act like everyone else. Hide her instincts. She thought he rid of that side of her long ago, but it looks like a sliver of her remain. "I'm sorry," she said tearfully. "I don't know what came over me. I…"
"Whoa clam down for a second."
This was new. Back then they all turned away disgusted by her peculiar actions. Every single time. Yet these two. They're staying. Why are they staying? "My quirk. It needs blood to active so…" It was like a rehearsed line for a performance. One she needed to commit to memory. She hasn't needed to say it in so long. Yet she still remembered.
"Ah, so it's a quirk thing. No problem. A little warning would be appreciated next time."
No problem? And next time? There was never a next time before. Where's the ridicule? The screams of terror. Or at least degusted groans. There was none of that.
"Midoriya has… well it's not his quirk but it's something similar-ish. It involves the consumption of blood. I suppose there is all types of quirks out there. What does it do if you don't mind me asking?"
Instead of saying it she should them. Her body melted along with her clothes until she looked like an exact replica of Iida. The other two were in utter awe. It was all so new to her. She didn't hate it. Quite the opposite. She stared talking saying some odd things the real Iida didn't approve of. Like how he couldn't dance to save his life and would probably step on his partner's feet. He should really invest in dancing lessons to avoid that. Uraraka was having a ball. Asking her to say other stuff in Iida's voice and body. Real Iida was blushing but couldn't help but giggle a bit seeing himself say such random stuff. The good boy in him was hoping no one would notice the usage of quirks.
Seeing the two, U.A students laughing instead of screaming. It made her think. This is nice. She liked this.
If only.
Meanwhile while at the prize counter. Spinner held his prize up in victory. A sword almost his side and twice as wide. He couldn't be happier. "WHOO! We actually did it!"
"And it surprisingly didn't cost that much." Shoji commented while poking an eye tentacle into his wallet.
Tsuyu nodded along while holding 3 large silver coins in her hands, "Yeah we still got some tokens felt to spare, ribbit."
Proudly, Tokoyami smirked at their accomplishment, "looks like lady luck as smiled upon us this day. we should be grateful."
"You're telling me." Spinner couldn't stop grinning while he hugged the fake blade that barely fit his arms. They were lucky. Each of them had around 20 tokens and using only those they managed to get the exact number of points needed. He did feel a little bad. They all worked hard to them and he had nothing to give back. that was when in the corner of his eyes he saw a claw machine. It was filled with cute plushies. All he needs is a token. Or this case the three they had left. He asked for the remaining tokens and dashed right over. The others followed him curiously. They watched him hurried slotted the tokens in. 3 chances. That's all he needed. With a quick push of the buttons he claimed 3 prizes. One of each of them. An odd talent of his but one that he was happy to have. He gave the prizes to the other three hoping it would be enough for thanks.
Tokoyami received a crow. It's stitched eyes were dark and brooding. A curled feather on it head and a tiny purple cape over it shoulders. He raised it up high as if it was the prophecy child. "This stuff animal. It speaks to. I shall treasure it always."
Shoji had a little blue octopus. One of his sleepy eyes had a monocle attached to him and on top of his bold head was a cocked top hat. He poked at the little top hat. His eyes smiled. "It's cute. I like him."
Lastly, Tsuyu. She had a frog. A little tiara attached to its head and a frilled pink tutu. Its eyes were big and round. Matched well this it's overly big, stitched smile. She hugged the plushie affectionately. "I love it."
Blushing, Spinner rubbed the back of his head. "Glad you all like them. It's the least I could do. For helping me get the sword and all." It really wasn't that much trouble. They all hand fun. Together. There really wasn't a together for him before. Back where he was from there wasn't any mutation quirks other than him and his family. They were quickly outed but the community. He ended up alone as he grew older. A neet trapped in his own room. "I really had a lot of fun."
"We did too, ribbit."
"Perhaps we should do this again on another date." Tokoyami suggested.
Spinner's eyes lit up at the thought. "You really think so. You don't mind am I lizard."
The three of them looked at him as if the lizard boy had a twin head. Then they glanced at each other. "Look at us. A crow, a frog and whatever you want to call me. I think a lizard would fit in with us just fine," Shoji replied with smiling eyes.
"A cute lizard, ribbit." Tsuyu teased while hiding half her face under her new plushie.
The other two laughed while Spinner turned red. It was nice being out like this with kids his age. That and they will not be pointing and laughing at him. Or throwing rocks. He felt normal.
If only.
Far beyond any of them. In completely different area. Music played through the halls. Peached high on the perfect vantage point was Dabi. His eyes were honed on one thing. The angelic pianist on stage. His fingers gleefully danced on the ivory the keys. The melodies he created were amazing. Just like he remembered. The villain's lips curled at the corners. "You still got it, Licht." The song ended. The crowd cheered, and he clapped along with them. In his hands was a singe flower. An amaryllis. Perfect for an angel. It almost looked like a star explosion with how vibrant its red rims painted the ends of its pointed petals. "For the angel of music." The he tossed the flower on the stage.
Licht was quick to notice it. Before he took his final bow, he plucked the flower beneath his feet. There was a note attached to it. 'good show' was scrolled on it with the initials T. One name came to mind. He shot his head up to the booths. It was empty. He gripped the flower tightly. "Coward."
Dabi walked away from the stage and further into the shadows. The angel light was too much for him. Just like always. He hated it yet admired it all the same.
If only.
"Join me, Izuku Midoriya. Together we can destroy this rotten system. You and me." Shigaraki asked again while holding out his hand. The boy pushed him away the first time he asked but that's fine. He wasn't going to give up on the idea. They have already bonded enough. "Izuku, please. I don't want to fight you. So just join me."
Izuku stared at the villain's extended hand then glace back at the villain's eyes. They weren't stern nor cold. Just begging. A simple pure plea. He knew what the older teen wanted but at the same time he knew what he wanted. "I don't want to fight you either."
Shigaraki cracked lips formed an enthusiastic grin. It wasn't meant to last.
"But I won't join you." Izuku stated firmly. His resolve was firm. Never moving. "I will become a hero. No matter what."
If only things were different.
And that's all for now. This ended up being a lot sadder that I originally intended. Oh well.
Also have some semi bad news. I'm thinking of putting this series on a break. Kind of have too for all my work. Not that I don't love this, or any harm has come to me. Besides is here school and the stress is piling. I will put a stop for everything. It's just that one of my other projects that I've been doing a long side this is fairly close to finishing. If I do finish it, I could work on this one a little more frequently for a while. Then I can prepare to return to properly my most popular fic that I have…put on hold so to speak. I fell in love in MHA ok. A certain someone for those who know of my other work has come back to the dead to get me back to it.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Ren:…if I don't return to that fic. I will have a knife on my neck.
?: OH Ren~ How's it coming along?
Ren: It will be ready when it's ready! I told you I'll return to it somewhere next year.
?: But Ren it's been so long already.
Ren: I know. I'm terrible. Also, either lazy or Busy. More so busy now. Then again you are somewhat to blame. I just lost track when I went on my own journey with my current projects. Beside didn't you say you wanted to check it again for mistakes?
?: …you win this round Renny, but I still have a knife with your name on it.
Ren: sigh…well. I live to see another day. let's return to the reviews.
zero fullbuster - excuse me for a second. What did I say last time…ah… Well. here it is. Next one might come at some point.
.396 – Well here is some Shigaraki x Izuku moments in this one. Glad you're enjoying this so far.
Well time to disappear. Farewell.
