This next three chapters is basically a three part series. This is part one of "The Darhkest Downfall"

Smokey Mountains

January 5, 15:00 EST

It's a new year and a new chapter for Damien Darhk who is in his private quarters. Five days ago, Alexander Luthor and his crew had rescued Jinx who was held captive by H.I.V.E. soldiers. Unfortunately the mission was not a success. Damien Darhk had a backup plan as he had attack helicopters in wait for Alexander and his crew who were in a modified Hummer. Their vehicle was destroyed after two missile attacks.

The police arrived at the scene but it was too late. It was destroyed to the extent that they couldn't determine who was in the Hummer. A day after the incident, Damien informs Dreadbolt about the situation of the demise of Alexander Luthor along with his team. At first the leader of Enforcers was upset but Damien allow him to take credit and to inform the Light of the tragic news. But as for Dreadbolt, he hasn't really told the Light of that news. Suddenly, Damien hears the sounds of an alarm.

Dr. Adam rushes into Damien's private quarters saying "Damien Darhk."

"Why is the alarm on" Damien asks.

"We're under attack" Dr. Adams tells him.

Damien uses the holographic computer to see the surveillance footage to his shock on what he sees. He sees members of Alexander's crew have infiltrated the H.I.V.E base. And his soldiers are being taken down one by one.

"No…impossible" Damien says still in shock.

Three armed soldiers shoot at Alexander but his force field protects himself against the bullets. He then hits each of them with a laser blast. "Ragdoll; are you near Damien's office" Alexander asks into the earpiece.

"Just about, if I get pass Damien's lapdogs."

Pied Piper eventually joins Alexander who assists him taking down more H.I.V.E. soldiers.

Five Days Ago…

Denver

December 31, 21:18 MDT

Alexander drives into the Eisenhower Tunnel which causes the two helicopters to stop their pursuit. The team seems to be in a sign of relief but then Alexander slams on the brakes.

"Why did you stop" Jinx asks.

"Even if we exit out the tunnel, they'll be waiting for us" Alexander responds.

"So, what now" Ravager asks.

Another assault chopper is near the exit of the tunnel while other two are at the opposite side. Suddenly, the Hummer drives out the passageway at full speed and the chopper chases after them. The pilot of the chopper uses the control to get a lock on target.

"I got lock on them" said the pilot.

"Then do it!"

The chopper fires two missiles at the Hummer hitting the back as well as the front. It almost hits a tow truck being driven by a middle age man who manage avoid the destruction. The destroyed car is now upside down engulfed in flames.

"The target has been destroyed" the pilot says.

"Excellent. Head back to base."

The three helicopters fly way from the scene as the tow truck driver exits the vehicle. He takes out his mobile phone calling the police. Once the choppers are gone; Alexander and his crew along with Jinx comes out of tunnel.

"Aw man I really like that ride" said Ragdoll with a sad look on his face.

"It was either that or us" Ravager tells him.

"So much for the Enforcers trying to kill us" said Tigress.

"Damien thinks we're dead. We'll let him relax" Alexander says looking at the helicopters flying away.

"Good, let's get home. We only got about I don't not much time" Ragdoll says looking at his watch. The others shake their heads while Alexander uses his power suit to signal for the Sky Dragon Wing.

Four Days Later

Brooklyn

January 4, 15:00 EDT

Alexander and company are in the Mission room where they discussing the plan of attack on Damien's base. A map of the Smokey Mountains is shown on the holographic computer.

"It's kind of amazing that the H.I.V.E. have a base inside a mountain" said Peter.

"Yeah, and it's weird that we been there" Rose says.

"How long ago was it" Cameron asks.

"Probably like seven years ago" Rebecca answers.

"Jinx; how many secret H.I.V.E. bases are there" Hartley asks.

"Not sure. I only have been to three of them" she tells him. She continues "the academy, the underwater base, and the one in the mountains."

"The academy was in California and the other was in the Pacific Ocean" said Artemis.

"I wish I could know more but…" Jinx says.

"We'll find out more once we head to Damien's secret base" Alexander tells his crew.

"So what's the plan" Scandal asks.

"One group gets their attention while the other group heads inside the base" Alexander responds.

"All nine of us, no problem" said Peter.

"You forgot one" Rebecca says.

The women in the Mission room look at Rebecca in shock. "You're coming along? No bloody way" said a surprised Angela.

"Does that mean Hazard is coming back" Rose asks.

"Not exactly" Rebecca tells her as she looks back at a shadowed objected on the table. "But I am coming along" she says.

Present…

Damien sees Alexander's crew attacking the H.I.V.E. soldiers from the surveillance videos of the computer. Grant rushes inside the room wearing his uniform with mask in hand.

"What do we do" Dr. Adams.

Grant puts on his mask about to leave to deal with Alexander's crew, but Damien stops him.

"Time to go" he tells Grant.

Damien presses a button on the planet Earth paperweight automatically opens a walk-in closet revealing a lift. Damien heads to the emergency exit with Jackal in tow. Dr. Adams is about to follow but the leader of the H.I.V.E. stops him.

"Not you. I need you to sweep the hard drives" Damien tells Dr. Adams.

"But, how did I get out if you and Grant are taking the emergency exit" Dr. Adams asks.

Damien looks reluctant when he gives Dr. Adams a set of keys. "Not one scratch" he tells him.

Damien and Jackal head to the emergency exit that takes them up to the outside. Dr. Adams opens the top desk drawer revealing a switch. He presses the button opening a very large picture frame showing a passageway. Dr. Adams heads to the open picture frame that closes automatically the minute he goes inside. Ragdoll would eventually enter inside Damien's office along with Tigress and Icicle only to find no one is here.

"He's not here" a puzzled Ragdoll asks.

Tigress uses her mask to scan the room. She spots three sets of footprints as well as fingerprints on a paperweight and by the drawer. Tigress examines the object on the table then she pushes on top part of the model planet Earth. The walk-in closet opens revealing an elevator.

"If I had to guess, Darhk and the wannabe Deathstroke use this exit" said icicle.

"Doesn't explain the footprints leading the picture frame" Ragdoll says.

Tigress checks the prints by the drawer opening showing a switch. She presses it which opens the giant size picture frame.

"Wonder where this leads" said Ragdoll.

Dr. Adam is inside the data room by a giant size computer deleting every file in the hard drive. He is doing this so Alexander Luthor won't find out any information on the H.I.V.E. organization. As Dr. Adams is almost deleting all the files, Ragdoll, Tigress, and Icicle make their way out the passageway.

"What the hell is this room" Ragdoll asks.

"Looks like one of the room where they store data…" Tigress responds. She then sees Dr. Adams by the computer shouting "hey!"

Dr. Adams gets spook looks back to see them. He quickly heads to a nearby door going inside. They go after him but the door is locked.

"Son a bitch" said Ragdoll.

"Who was that guy" Icicle asks.

"Whoever that was" Tigress responds checking the computer to see it there's nothing. "He just cleaned out the hard drive. It's completely empty."

Dr. Adam is in the garage where a silver Jaguar C-X75 is parked. He gets inside the concept car frantically putting the keys in the ignition. The twin sliding doors open and Dr. Adams drives off out the base to the open road. Dr. Adams continues to drive until he is far away from the base. He stops the car with a deep sigh he looks back.

As Dr. Adam is about to the start the car, a drone suddenly appears. The unmanned miniature aircraft slowly hovers near the automobile. Adams looks confused of the drone staring at him noticing the lens. He realizes that it's nothing more than a video drone. Adams goes for the glove compartment reaching for the pistol that in there.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you" said a female voice.

The drone takes out a mini gun turret with a scope aiming a red laser at Dr. Adams. He stares at the lens wondering who is controlling the drone. But when he heard the voice he realizes who it is.

"Well, well if it isn't Rebecca Sharpe" said Adams. Then calmly adds "or should I say…Hazard."

"How did you know that" she asks.

"I was originally an associate of Brother Blood. I've been observing you and the Enforcers for years" he tells Rebecca.

"If that's true, how come I never seen you" she asks.

"Brother Blood had his reasons" Adams responds.

"Care to explain them" she asks.

Adams laughs pulling out the pistol aiming at the drone. "It's pointless shooting at it" she tells Adams.

"You things have changed over the years. One of them is the H.I.V.E" said Dr. Adams. He then puts the gun on the right side of his head.

With his fingers on the trigger, he tells Rebecca "You will never stop the H.I.V.E."

"Sorry but you can't commit suicide yet" she tells Adams.

"And why would you say that" Adam asks.

She doesn't respond which puzzles the H.I.V.E. member. He slowly moves the gun away from his head suddenly a shadow figure approaches him. Adams sees the figure turns his head for a second only to get punch in the face by Alexander knocking him out.

Easter Island

January 5, 21:40 PDT

Dreadbolt is pacing back and forth in the center chamber of HQ. Tommy shows up wearing his Dark Archer uniform to see the leader of the Enforcers staring at the computer.

"It works better when you turn it on" Tommy tells Dreadbolt.

He stops to see Tommy responds "sorry, I've been trying to call Darhk for the past two hours."

"You think something happened" Tommy asks.

Just as Dreadbolt was about responds notices the holographic computer informs him of an incoming video message. However it doesn't show the person's name.

"Weird, the computer would show who is calling" said Dreadbolt.

Dreadbolt is reluctant whether to answer the call or just ignore it. He takes the risk to accept the video message. It opens and it's Damien Darhk sitting by a desk with an angry look on his face.

"Damien; what happened" Dreadbolt asks. "I've been trying to contact you for two hours" he continues.

"Alexander Luthor and his damn team found my base."

"I'm not surprise" Dreadbolt says.

"You knew this would happen."

"Look who you're dealing with" Dreadbolt reminds Damien. He sees Damien with both hands on his head.

"Well now I need your help dealing with Alexander Luthor and his team."

"Yeah, well I have my own problems" Dreadbolt tells Damien.

"How bad is it?"

"Some of the Enforcers are now incarcerated "Tommy answers.

"Following a failed attempt to abduct the meta-humans at a youth center" Dreadbolt adds.

"Wow, a year as Enforcer leader and your team is dwindling."

Dreadbolt didn't like the response Damien said. And the fact Damien had a grin of on face too. He becomes angry glaring at the computer responds "I wipe that smile off your face if I were you."

"Especially since you lost your mountain base" said Tommy.

"So what, that wasn't the only base I have."

"You have other bases" Dreadbolt asks. Damien responds nodding his head.

"And I'm finding out now" he responds in anger.

"Look I don't have time to discuss this. I need your help."

Damien puts hands up "fine I'll lend three of my Enforcers. Take it or leave it."

"It will have to do. I'll send them the coordinates." And with that the video ends.

Dreadbolt crosses his arm over his chest giving a glare to the computer. Tommy, not wanting to talk to him decides to leave the room so he can give Deadbolt some space.

An unconscious Adams is sitting behind a teacher's desk with his head down. As the sunlight hits his face, he slowly begins to wake up.

"About time you wake up."

Adams looks forward by the doorway sees Alexander leaning against it. He looks the room which looks like something of a principal's office Alex closes the door then pulls up a chair sitting in front of him.

"Am I inside of a school" Adams asks.

Alexander ignores him using his arm computer scrolling down showing a copy of an identification card. It shows the name Ernesto Adams. He then finds additional information about Adams.

"It says here you have a master's degree in Bioengineering" said Alexander. "Pretty impressive" he adds.

Perplexed by what Alexander found out about him responds "how did you-"

"I scanned your fingerprints. It's amazing what I can find out you" Alex interrupts.

"What do you want" Ernesto asks.

"I just want one thing…Damien Darhk" Alex tells him.

Ernesto giggles at the one thing Alexander wants. "You know I won't tell you. And you can't keep me here" he tells Alex.

"You know what" Alex says as he taps the desk. "You're right. I can't keep you here" he continues.

Alex gets up off the chair going to the closed door. He shakes his head opening it where someone is standing there.

"I can't talk to him, but maybe you can" Alex says to the person at the door.

The person who Alex was talking to was none other than Phobia wearing a pair of hexagonal sunglasses. Alex leaves and Phobia closes the door. She approaches the blinds then uses the wand to rotate the curtains to darken the room. Adam's arrogant attitude toward Alexander suddenly changes to concern the minute Phobia enters the room.

She takes off her sunglasses putting them over her head. "There now we can talk" Phobia says as her eyes turn blue. Outside of the principal's office, Alex is leaning against the wall when Rebecca shows up.

"Did he say anything" she asks.

Alex responds pointing at the closed door. Suddenly they hear Ernesto screaming in fear.

"No, no, no…..NO, make it stop. Please no more."

The screaming stops. Both Alex and Rebecca hear Ernesto breathing in and out. Phobia would eventually come out of the room pinching her nose.

"Bloody hell" she says in a nasal voice.

Rebecca waves off the smell ask "what was he afraid of?"

"It's best that none of us should ever know" Alex answers closing the door. He clears his throat asking Phobia "did you find anything?"

"Unfortunately he doesn't know whereabouts of Damien Darhk" Phobia answers.

In anger Rebecca kicks the wall. "Looks like we're back to square one" she says.

"Not quite" said Phobia. "He was supposed to go to a mill yard in Northern California" she continues.

"He was going to Eureka" Alex says.

"Wow, how you figure that" a surprised Phobia asks.

"It's the only city I can think of. Especially it's one of the cities known for their lumber industry" Alex answers.

"But why was he going there" Rebecca asks.

"He kept on saying hard drive repeatedly" Phobia tells her.

"Then that means…"said Rebecca about finish her thought.

"We have a chance" is the only thing Alex says.

Berlin

January 6, 12:00 UTC+1

Damien is in a private bar by countertop table drinking a shot of whiskey. He looks at himself in the mirror giving off a glare. His hears the sound of his phone ringing as it vibrates on the table.

"Please tell me you got in touch with Adams" Damien says on the phone.

"I'm afraid not" a female responds on the other end of the phone.

"Call me as soon as you get a hold of him" Damien tells her hanging up the phone.

Then Grant in his civvies enters the bar sees Damien drinking. "You wanted to see me" he asks.

Damien uses his phone to forward something to Grant's phone. He takes out the phone looking at was sent to him.

"Take care of my little problem. Then hurry right back" Damien tells Grant

Eureka

January 6, 17:59 PDT

Alexander Luthor and his crew arrived at the mill yard that is five miles near the Pacific Ocean. Tigress uses a pair of binoculars getting closer look at the warehouse.

"There's no one here" she says.

"This is the place right" Ragdoll asks.

"It was what I saw in Ernesto's mind" Phobia answers.

"Jinx, Pied Piper, and Ragdoll; you're with me" Alexander tells the three. "The rest of you; watch our backs" he continues.

The four head to the warehouse while the others remain behind. They approach to the small building and like Tigress said there's no one here. They head to the side of the warehouse to see a black rectangle object with wires going inside as well as an antenna on the roof.

"What is that" Jinx asks.

"A built-in router" Alexander answers.

"They're use for giving a strong network signal" Piper adds.

"How does one person get those" Ragdoll asks.

"You don't" Alexander responds.

"You can actually hire someone to build a router" Piper says.

"It's obvious that the H.I.V.E. made one" said Jinx.

"Come on let's go inside" Alexander tells the three as they head to the front door.

Ragdoll heads to the front door trying to opening it but its look. He looks around the warehouse to find to find an air vent but is unable to find one.

"Well that's just great" said an upset Ragdoll.

Alexander clears his throat tapping the contortionist on the shoulder. He turns noticing the crew leader pointing to the door which has a digital keypad panel. Alex uses his arm computer to scan for the combination from the fingerprints. It reveals the numbers 3,2,5,6 and 6 which Alex presses unlocking the door.

They head inside the warehouse to see the lights are off. Alex finds a switch by the door turning on the light revealing a workshop. Jinx looks at the tool on the table and on the shelves.

"Well that explains the fake windows" said Piper.

Alexander explores the secret workshop sees shredded metal pieces and some left over wires. "They working on something" he says.

"But what were they working on" Piper asks.

"We could check the desktop computer" Ragdoll suggests.

They notice an office that has a computer inside but it is off.

Damien is about to leave the private bar when his phone rings. He takes it out of the pocket answering it. "Well" he says.

"Mr. Darhk; someone is using the computer. The location is in Eureka, California."

Damien's eyes show an expression of concern. He hasn't heard word from Adams since yesterday. And that he had his secretary trying to call him. "Have got a hold of him" he asks.

"He hasn't called."

This concerns Damien even more as he heads to a liquor display cabinet. He takes out a bottle of vodka revealing a retinal scan. After scanning his eye, middle part of the bar table slides open revealing a digital touch screen computer. He uses it to finding out who is using the computer in the secret warehouse.

After successfully logging in, Alexander checks the computer on what's stored in here. He takes out a wire that is connected to his arm computer from his power suit and beings to transfer any important files. He gets info of another H.I.V.E. base and the location. Alex continues to search the hard drive he when stumbles upon a zipped folder.

"Mir-ak-ur-u" as Ragdoll tries to pronounce the world.

"It's pronounced Mirakuru" Alexander corrects him.

"What is that" Jinx asks.

"It's a super-soldier serum created by Japanese during World War II" Alex responds as copies the formula into the flash drive.

"I thought that was myth" said Piper.

"It's no myth" Alex tells Piper continues to search through the files. He notices an open folder in the computer that reads "Deities".

"Deities" is what Jinx said.

"Another word for gods" Alexander says.

The minutes he opens the folder, the four become shock on what they see. It shows four large "X" shape objects with a person strapped to each one. It also shows a platform with a design of a Sun and someone standing on top of the surface.

"Jesus Christ, what is that" Piper asks.

"I don't like what I'm seeing" said Ragdoll.

"Well me neither" Alexander say as begins to copy the files.

He notices numbers with a slash in between them. And another set of numbers with a colon between them as well as a location.

"Is that a date and time" Jinx asks.

"Rome, Italy" Piper says.

The download process suddenly stops at ninety seven percent. The wire is then automatically release from the computer retracts back into the power suit.

"Indigo, what happened" Alexander asks his arm computer.

"I'm sorry Alexander Luthor, but someone hacked the computer."

Then the files in the hard driving are being deleted. Alexander tries to find who is doing but unable to find out. The last piece of data is gone. Suddenly Damien Darhk's face appears on screen.

"You have been a thorn on my side for the last time."

"It looks I like a struck a nerve" said seemingly calm Alexander.

"The only thing you have done is piss me off."

"If you thought that was bad, wait until we visit you" Alexander says with a smirk.

"Neither you or your team is doing nothing but die."

And with that the screen shuts off. Suddenly a timer appears on screen showing twenty seconds and counting. Outside, Tigress sees Alexander, Jinx, Ragdoll, and Pied Piper running out the warehouse through her binoculars. The four manage to regroup with the others as they catch their breath.

Looking confused Icicle asks "why were runnin-"

The warehouse explodes destroying the small building completely.

"You had to ask" said Ravager.

"That's the second time Damien tried to kill you" Tigress says.

"So, what now" Scandal asks.

Alexander looks back at the destroyed warehouse as the fire surrounds the debris. With a serious look on his face, he responds "we're going to Berlin."
