'Thinking'

Kakarot had been flying for quite some time before he finally reached the locale in which the radar claimed a Dragon Ball was. It was a small, ruddy antique shop surrounded by tall plateaus and endless sand. Kakarot moved to walk inside the shop when he heard a voice call, "Hey, runt! I don't let children in here, scram!" The young boy glanced over and saw a chubby, balding man waving a stick at him. 'What an odd man,' Kakarot thought as he raised his hands in a show of goodwill and backed up. Rather than leaving, however, Kakarot hopped onto the roof of a building across the street and watched the shop.

"Wow, what luck! We'll have the other six in no time at this rate!" A familiar voice shouted. Kakarot watched as a small blue man and a tall black-haired woman left the shop. "Pilaf," Kakarot hissed softly, watching as he turned and began running off. Kakarot pulled out the Dragon Radar and looked at it, but the ball wasn't moving. 'Haha, those nerds got duped!' He thought as he watched a large amount of men pull up in tanks and cars. Suddenly, gunshots sounded from inside.

Kakarot stood up as fast as he could, but something caught his eye. A bird was flying away with something shiny and orange in its talons. Kakarot looked back down at the radar, only to find that the ball was moving with the bird. "Fuck!" He hissed, lunging off the roof and flying after the bird.

After hours of trying to catch the bird, Kakarot was starting to tire. 'How far can a bird fly!? This is ridiculous!' He thought as he steadily lost speed. Suddenly, the young Saiyan caught sight of something above him. A large bird swooped down, swallowing the bird he was chasing whole. "AHH NO!" Kakarot shouted, falling out of the air as he lost his concentration. He righted himself quickly and continued after the new bird. 'I'll carve you open to the point in which your insides become your outsides,' He growled mentally.

Then another shock came. A large boulder sailed through the air and struck the large bird, knocking it unconscious. Kakarot panicked as he moved to follow the feathered creature through the air, losing sight of where he should've hit the ground. "Ah ha! This will make for a perfect lunch!" Kakarot heard a deep voice ahead. Quickly, he landed and ran to the voice, finding the Ox King standing there holding the large bird. "Ah, Kakarot! I was not expecting to see you!" The Ox King greeted in a friendly manner. Kakarot blinked. "Oh, hello! Um, if you don't mind, could I come with you while you cook that bird? It swallowed a Dragon Ball..." He laughed embarrassed.

"Of course I don't mind! You're my daughter's fiancé after all!" The giant chortled. Kakarot tilted his head but nodded regardless. As they made their way to the rebuilt Ox Kingdom, Kakarot noted all kinds of new, happy faces about. 'I guess this guy really wasn't kidding when he told Master Roshi that he'd change his ways,' Kakarot thought absently. As they climbed the stairs to the castle, the Ox King turned to the young Saiyan. "Chichi is out by the lake if you'd like to spend some time with her while this is cooking," He offered kindly. Kakarot frowned before nodding. "Okay… is the lake out back or…?" Kakarot questioned slowly. The gentle giant nodded and replied, "Yup! It's a little ways off so you'll have nothing but the sounds of nature."

Kakarot gave a quick thanks and took off to this lake. 'There's no use in sitting inside and anxiously twiddling my thumbs while I wait. Talking with Chichi may help distract me,' He reasoned as he jogged. In no time at all, he came up on a humongous lake surrounded by endless fields of flowers and fruit trees. "Woah," He mumbled, slowing down and spinning to look at everything. "Kakarot, is that you?" He heard a soft voice call. Kakarot spun to look back at the lake and right by the water's edge sat Chichi Ox. "Uh, yup! It's me," Kakarot greeted cheerfully as he moved to take a seat near her. She smiled brightly. "I knew you'd come back to visit, what've you been up to?!" She prompted.

"Oh, you know," He chuckled nervously, "Training, eating, traveling. The usual..." The young girl clapped her hands together. "That sounds fun! I've been doing a little training myself," She informed. Kakarot blinked in surprise. "Really? That's cool!" He exclaimed. She grinned back at him. "Yeah, I figured I should try to learn some things my husband enjoys to do, you know?" She explained. Kakarot laughed nervously and rubbed the back of his neck.

"Uh yeah. Listen, I'm being completely real with you when I don't know what any of that means... " He revealed. The smile fell from her face. "You don't?" She asked sadly. "Uh nope," Kakarot answered, shaking his head, "I have no idea what marriage is, what a husband or a wife is, or really any of it… Perhaps I know what it means, but I was just brought up using different terms so, um, maybe just explain what they mean or do or something, yeah?" Chichi's eyes watered, but she rubbed the tears away and set her face like stone.

"Um… well before marriage is dating and engagement… um dating is where you get to know the person and you try to figure out if you are compatible with them. Engagement is basically where you decide that you and the other person will be good life partners and really help and care for each other through everything. Marriage is when you're legally bound to each other as life partners, and, uh, married people can have families and own things together and things like that. Finally, a husband is a boy who is married and a bride or a wife is a girl who is married." She explained slowly.

Kakarot furrowed his eyebrows as he processed the information. "Okay, so… dating is courting, engagement is something I've never heard of, and marriage is just… having a mate?" He responded slowly, glancing at the girl across from him. She shrugged harshly and Kakarot bit his lip. "So you're asking me to… become your mate when you say husband?" He clarified. "I think so?" She replied uncertainly

"Oh boy… well you see um, there's a lot of complications and things that may play into that…" He told her with a wince. "What sorts of complications?" She demanded. "Oh well you know… there's the biggest one that I'm a Saiyan, not a human..." He trailed off picking at his fingers. "Okay and?" She responded, placing her hands on her hips, "Tell me all these possible 'issues' that could come from that and then we can decide what's best. You aren't deciding anything without my input though."

"Okay… well if we were to mate, you'd always be mine. We don't mess around, we don't separate, none of that. Honestly, the fact that anyone would consider that is disgusting, but that's besides the point. You've got to be fully committed. Next up, you'd become half Saiyan, which I believe is very painful soooo…... Uh, anyways, as an apex predator species that was built to fight, our numbers naturally aren't great. Then we have those that take it too far and end up getting themselves killed. We lose people a lot, as I'm sure you could've guessed, so our genes are very coded to somewhat take over foreign bodies in order to ensure our survival. You'll gain better strength, vision, smell, instincts, etc.

Then, um… the first time we mate we'll leave marks on each other's necks to solidify the bond, and you'll undoubtedly fall pregnant. Saiyan pregnancies only go for about six months, so be wary of that. Um Saiyan babies are normally very very violent, so they absolutely must not be allowed near full humans until they've learned to control their blood lust. You'll be fine because of maternal instincts though, so don't worry about that part…

Uh, all that and I'd have to teach you about our culture more and I don't really hit that kind of puberty until I'm 18. However, we will have to "wed" fast because hormones are a vile thing and they'll make me a little dumby who's willing to accept almost anyone, so you really have to decide sooner rather than later..." Kakarot rushed. Chichi blinked slowly, absorbing all the information.

'There's no way anyone would want that… It'd be like giving up your entire identity. I can't just ask someone to do that, it'd be like-' "Okay, I'll still do it," Chichi's agreement interrupted Kakarot's train of thought. "Wait, seriously?" Kakarot asked doubtfully. "Uh huh! It doesn't seem that bad… If anything it seems better than regular romance, so yeah. I'm in." She affirmed. Kakarot gaped at her incredulously.

A loud crash intervened in the moment between the two. The two teens launched to their feet. "That sounded like it came from my home!" Chichi gasped in fear. Kakarot turned and stepped in front of here. "Chichi, go make sure everyone is alright, I'll figure out what made the sound!" He ordered. She nodded firmly and the two took off running towards the center of the Ox Kingdom. As they approached, Kakarot found many tanks rushing in as they had at the antique shop earlier, as well as the Ox King out fighting them off.

The young boy sped up, leaving his "fiancée" behind as he ran to meet this military. Right before he reached them, they threw a net, catching the Ox King and pinning him to the ground. Kakarot slid to a stop and rushed to help the giant. As he burned the ropes binding the Ox King down, the mysterious army hopped out of their line of tanks, shrinking them into their capsule forms. As one reached down to grab his capsule, an axe blade impaled the ground right where his hand was. He shrieked and moved back, but Chichi cut him off. "Who do you think you are?! Coming into my home and destroying my things!?" She roared as Kakarot finally freed her father.

Several others rushed to the man's side with guns pointed towards the young girl. "You little snot!" The initial man retorted, "How dare you threaten us! We're the Red Ribbon Army, and you can't touch us!" With that, he loaded his gun and moved to fire, but Kakarot was too quick. He kicked the gun out of the man's hand and stood in front of the so-called army, ready to take them down. "Don't get involved, now hurry!" A new voice shouted from behind the men as he threw a capsule that turned into a jet.

Kakarot watched as they left, but did not move from his guarding position. "Urg," the Ox King groaned, "That didn't feel great… I'm so sorry you two, they ruined lunch." Chichi shook her head rapidly. "Don't worry about that Papa! I'm just glad you're okay!" She insisted, grasping his hand. Kakarot slowly turned to face them as he tore his eyes off the jets' path of travel.

"As am I," He began, "But I should probably follow them. Other people those guys encounter may not have people such as yourself Ox King, so people could easily wind up hurt." Chichi and her father frowned. "You're already leaving?" Chichi pouted. Kakarot gave a solid nod. "Aye, I must. I promise I'll be back though!" He assured with a soft smile.

Ox King nodded slowly and placed a hand on Kakarot's shoulder. "Do as you must, but stay safe. Other people's lives are not worth giving up your own," The giant instructed. Kakarot nodded and turned, running off with a shout of farewell. He flew off into the sky, pulling out the dragon radar. 'I knew it! Those fucks were there for the ball! Too bad they've gotten themselves a tracking device because of it.' Kakarot thought with a smirk. With that, he shot through the atmosphere.
