About a month ago Harold adopted Sarai and Symone, Samantha and Sameen adopted Brendon, Maisie and Nola, and John adopted Buck, who changed his name to Beckett Jonathon Reese, and Mackenzie.
It's been about three months since Eileen, Marielle and Charlie were taken. There's been no trace of them other than Marielle's Minnie Mouse toy. No evidence as to where they had been taken.
The team was starting to lose hope about finding Eileen, Marielle and Charlie. Then Marielle and Charlie were found anonymously outside of a fire station. It appeared that the kidnapper or kidnappers were adhering to the safe haven laws.
The two youngsters were then taken to the police station. John squared things away with Lionel and social services, and then he took the two kids with him to the safe house where Coraline was with the other children.
John made sure the area was secure, giving Coraline the time to get reacquainted with the kids.
Once inside the warehouse, John squatted down across from Charlie. He was five and possibly the best bet they had about getting any kind of intel about the kidnapper or kidnappers, and the condition of Eileen. Marielle, who was being held by Coraline, was about four months shy of turning three. She wasn't talking too much.
"So Charlie." John started, "What can you tell me about the kidnapper or kidnappers and where they were holding you?"
The five year old just shrugged as he mumbled, "I don't know." He leaned closer to Coraline, almost going behind her.
"Okay. How was Eileen?"
"Good. I think. I didn't see her much. They would always take her."
John nodded, "What did she say or do when she was with you?"
"She slept a lot."
"Okay. What did the people who took you do with you or to you?"
Charlie shook his head, "Nothing. It was two guys. I only saw two guys."
"Thank you." John replied, "That was very helpful, Charlie?"
"Are you gonna find LeeLee now?"
John gave a nod, "I'm gonna try."
"Good. Cause she doesn't want to be a vessel."
John furrowed his eyebrows, "A vessel? A vessel for what?"
Charlie shrugged, "I don't know." He looked up at Coraline, "Can I go play now?"
"Yes. Go on, baby. Go play with the other children. They've missed you."
Charlie ran off, excitedly. He had missed his friends too.
Coraline placed Marielle down, and the little girl chased after Charlie as fast as she could run.
John stood up, turned towards Coraline, "Okay so...two guys and they want Eileen for a vessel. What does that even mean?"
"I can't even think." Coraline spoke, kind of thinking out loud, "All I can think about is maybe a vessel to run drugs."
"Well let's hope that's not the case." John replied, giving a sigh, "Take care of those kids and I'll be back to check on you tomorrow."
Coraline nodded, "Thanks John."
The two of them had grown quite close over the last few months. Not like that though. They're just friends.
Meanwhile at the bunker with Harold. He was alone with his kids today. Samantha and Sameen were both taking a personal day with their kids.
The whole team had been working round the clock on finding Eileen, Marielle and Charlie since the three of them disappeared. With the reappearance of Charlie and Marielle that morning, they were all feeling a little more hopeful.
On a happier note, Sarai was getting pretty good at chess through months of practice and playing with her dad.
"Checkmate." Harold called
"No. Not again." Sarai pouted, throwing her hands up in surrender, "Dad, why can't you just let me win?"
"Because, my dear, then you'll never learn how to win on your own. You'll never get any better." Harold explained as he limped over to where Symone was reading a book.
Symone had just turned five and he was already reading like a pro. He loved reading. He was a lot like Harold was as a kid. Since learning to read four months ago, Symone had easily read over two hundred books. He read at least four books a day.
The books were children's books, but still, it's impressive for such a little guy. Harold was incredible proud of his son.
"How's that book, Little Man?"
"I love it, daddy." Symone replied, pushing up his glasses. He was reading a magic treehouse book.
A few days ago, Symone had asked his dad to take him to the library to get some more challenging books. While they were at the library, Symone picked up one of the magic treehouse books on the advisement of his big sister. A few pages in and he was in love. They left the library that day with ten magic treehouse books.
"How many books have you ready today, MoMo?" Sarai shouted from across the room.
"I just finished one. This is my second." Symone called back, not even looking up from his book.
One thing was for sure, all that reading had done wonders for Symone's verbal skills and his vocabulary. He's speaking much better and more since he's learned to read.
Back with Eileen, she was in a room that looked very much like a hospital room. The walls were while and she was on a bed with rails like one of them hospital beds. Her eyes were red and puffy because she'd been crying.
One of the reasons why Eileen had been crying was because Charlie and Marielle had been taken from her.
But that wasn't the main reason.
The main reason why Eileen had been crying was because she's pregnant. Almost two months along. Eileen had cried so much that she couldn't cry anymore. She was sure that she had run out of tears.
The first few weeks after being taken, Eileen had cried about wanting to go home. She had given up on that though. She knew that wasn't going to happen. At least not anytime soon.
The only thing that Eileen wanted now was for her pregnancy to be over as soon as possible. She wanted the baby out of her because she hadn't wanted to be pregnant in the first place. She wasn't even fifteen yet. All she wanted was to be a kid. It seemed like she couldn't even do that.
Long time, no update.
Anyways I hope you enjoy. Comments are greatly appreciated.
What would you like to see happen next?
