Quinn ran as fast as she could, controlling her breaths with each step as she rushed to Mckinely. It was already well past 11 pm, finally she reached the school building.

Shelby skidded the car to a halt and stepped out as soon as she parked it to follow Quinn. She had to admit even if it was just to herself, Quinn had impressed her once again.

That had to be at least five to seven miles from their starting point from where she jumped out the car to run.

Quinn hadn't faltered. She kept running as if she hadn't exerted herself at all and she was still running with Shelby now running after her as Quinn ran to the back of the school up to the edge of a hill. Quinn stopped and stared down her eyes searching.

"Not that I don't enjoy a good run but why the hell are we here?" Shelby asked breathing deeply.

Shelby wasn't out of shape by any means but even she isn't sure she could have ran those five to seven miles than run up a hill behind a school.

"My brother. My brother is somewhere down there." Quinn said with worry.

Shelby was confused as fuck. "Why would he be down there?"

"Because I was suppose to take my punishment after school by the jocks but Hester tricked me then kidnapped me. So that automatically means my brother takes my place."

Shelby's eyes widened. "What was your punishment?"

"The porter potty roll. The entirety of the football team uses the bathroom in the porter potty than locks you in, than rolls you down the hill."

Shelby's jaw dropped and her face scrunched in disgust. "What?!"

"There!" Quinn said as she spotted the boxed bathroom on it's side at the bottom of the steep hill. Quinn ran as fast as she could without falling down the decline.

Shelby followed as they got closer Quinn began calling his name.

"Sam! Sam, I'm here!"

"Quinn?! Quinn is that you!" Sam yelled as he banged his fists against the door.

Quinn staggered to a stop and wrestled with the outer lock that one of the jocks had put in so whoever was inside couldn't get out.

As soon as she got it open Sam pushed the door open choking on air as he hung over the side of the potty trying to control his gagging.

Quinn and Shelby stepped back as the smell of urine and poop permeated the air. Shelby covered her mouth and nose.

"Oh that's just disgusting."

"Tell me what Hester has gathered about Lucy." Mama Fina said to David.

"She's apparently the former head cheerleader at Mckinely. She's the lead for valedictorian. She use to date the quarterback until she got pregnant last year by someone. Her father is a gambler but I heard that from Tana. She basically became the school pariah. The last Rachel told Tana was that they locked her in a chained dumbster all day and she was covered in slushie."

"Slushie? What is a slushie?"

"You know the big gulps that Spencer's always drinking."

"Oh my.. That's awful."

"Yeah, other than that I don't know any thing else."

"Alright. I won't hold you accountable for your sister's actions but next time you come to me, understood?"

"Yes mama Fina, I swear this won't happen again."

"It better not."

Shelby was texting on her phone as Quinn paced back and forth in worry.

"Mom, please pick up!" Quinn whispered to herself her eyes glistening with tears.

Sam was currently in the shower of Mckinely thanks to Shelby who somehow broke into the school, citing that they may be Baby's friends but there was no way that boy was getting in to her lambo covered in shit.

Now Quinn was using their shared phone to get in contact with her mother because her siblings and daughter were god knows where.

Most likely social services had to be called because no one had been there to pick them up since Quinn had been kidnapped, Sam had been trapped in a porter potty and their mother was currently stripping for he who shall never be named.

Just as Quinn hung up her phone it rang. She answered eagerly. "Hello?!"

"Quinn, it's me Carmela."

"Carmela, I'm sorry but I can't talk right now. I have t-"

"Don't worry this won't take long. Rachel wanted me to call you and let you know that when Hester kidnapped you yesterday and she found out she called me and had me collect the children. They're safe with me."

"Oh my gosh, are you serious?!" Quinn said in desperate disbelief.

"Yes, they're all fine."

Quinn swallowed thickly as she felt her emotions run wild with relief, anger/hatred at Hester, pissed at another situation that could have ended her life. It just wasn't fair, they could never just have a regular normal day.

"Th-Thank you, Carmela. I really appreciate it."

"Your welcome. Talk to you later."

"Bye."

Quinn hung up the phone and rushed to the door to the locker room straight to a showering Sam but being sure to keep her distance to give him privacy behind the short wall of the shower.

Sam looked up. "I swear I'm almost done!"

"Sam the kids are safe. Rachel had called Carmela to pick them up." Sam's eyes welled as he took a deep breath.

Silence engulf the two for a minute before Sam spoke what they were both thinking. "...Why does it feel like Rachel's always saving us?"

"Because she is.."

"I don't get why though."

"Me either but maybe we should be grateful that she's even here to help us."

Sam nodded.

"Take your time and get all that out. I can still smell it so don't worry about rushing. I'll try and find you something to wear in the lost and found."

"Thanks."

Quinn nodded and headed for the door. She walked out to see Shelby talking on the phone.

"Excuse me, Shelby?"

"Hold on, Mick. Yes?"

"I'm going to check the lost and found now for some clothes for Sam."

"Okay and don't be long. Mama Fina said to go straight to the house instead of your hotel."

"Why?"

"I don't know and I'm not asking."

"Okay.." Quinn sighed as she walked away.

Mama Fina stared down Hester with fury in her eyes. Hester was biting her lip nervously.

"So Hester would you like to explain to me why you thought it was imperative for you to come to Lima, Ohio to kidnap a girl you don't know and almost put your sister in danger by calling her during an infiltration?"

"I.."

"I advise you to choose your words wisely."

Hester sighed sadly. She knew every one thought she was crazy but she truly believed she was doing the right thing. She was worried for her sisters safety.

"I didn't want this to be like last time." Hester spoke sadly.

"Last time?" Mama Fina asked with a raised brow.

"You know, last time. Like with Contessa."

Mama Fina's features didn't change. "Explain."

"I know no one will believe me but I really did this to help baby. The more she talked about that Barbie Bit-"

Hester cut herself off when mama Fina narrowed her eyes at the name calling.

"When she talked about Quinn. She sounded like she's growing feelings for her and that's exactly what happened with Contessa. Contessa just came out of no where and wanted to be Rachel's friend even though I told baby she rubbed me the wrong way. I warned her everytime I felt like something was wrong and than Contessa told her she had feelings for her and baby fell for it and liked her back and we didn't find out who Contessa really was until it was too late and I don't want that to happen because that is the only time in my life when I really felt fear. No one was there for that but me and I was the one who had to stop it not any of you!"

Hester had started out calmly but eventually her voice began to shake and her eyes filled with tears and Mama Fina knew.

She always knew when her grandchildren were lying especially Hester.

She had to learn the signs Hester gave because she was an amazing actress but Mama Fina could see it clear as day. Hester was being honest. The fear was in her eyes.

The past was haunting her in ways none of them would understand because it's true none of them were there that day.

"I didn't mean to become hateful when I was fighting with Rachel but you should have heard what she said about Barbra and that hurt my feelings! So I wanted to hurt her back and said that we couldn't have normal lives. I honestly didn't mean it Mama Fina but you know how sensitive I am about Barbra and when she threw Jesse into the conversation well.. I just had to hurt her feeling somehow! She could have also broke my nose and I was just so mad at her!" Hester huffed like the spoiled child she is.

Mama Fina watched her with unreadable eyes but inside she was laughing.

Hester and Rachel were always so dramatic and when they fought it was to the death, only if it came to it which it obviously didn't.

She knew they would apologize to each other but she didn't want Hester to believe her actions were okay because they weren't. Hester didn't know Lucy and to kidnap the girl than force her to watch them fight was not okay.

"Be that as it may, child you were wrong. I'm sending you to Marcus tonight. Your flight leaves within the hour."

Hesters eyes bulged and she leaned forward desperately.

"No! Please Mama Fina, I swear I'll be good!"

"I don't want to hear it. You did the crime, you pay the time. Now you will not only apologize to David and your sister but you must also apologize to Lucy."

Hester began to cry and Mama Fina shook her head.

Hester was tough and to see her cry because of her punishment well.. It made her look like a five year old that was just put on time out.

Sam, Shelby and Quinn left the school and walked to the car, they would be heading to what Sam and Quinn believed was only Rachel's house.

"So uh.. I'm Sam." Sam said introducing himself officially as he held out his hand.

Shelby looked at it but kept walking. "Shelby."

"Are you Rachel's aunt? You guys look a lot a like."

"No, I'm her older sister."

Quinn and Sam's eyes widened.

"How old are you?" Quinn asked.

"Don't you know it's rude to ask a women's age." Shelby scoffed out.

"Yes but I'm a woman so it doesn't count."

Shelby chuckled and shook her head. "I'm thirty seven."

"Oh, your a year older than our mom." Sam supplied.

"But you don't look it. I thought you were like twenty eight or something." Quinn followed.

Shelby chuckled once more as they got in the car. "I can see why baby likes you two. You're very flattering."

With that Shelby pulled off.

"Is she a threat?" Mama Fina asked with a raised brow.

"From what I've gathered, no, she isn't." Carmela replied honestly.

"What do you think of her?"

"I honestly think she's god for baby."

"Why?"

"You know how baby has been since the Contessa incident."

"Yes."

"Quinn brings out this.. Happiness."

"Happiness?"

"Yes, she lights up when she around her. Not like with Contessa. Baby was so secretive, moody and always had a bad attitude."

"That's true."

"She seems to have more humility and is more like herself."

"So, you think Lucy should be a more permanent fixture?"

"Yes ma'am, I think that would be best."

"Tell me, what have you uncovered about the Fabray family personally?"

"Watch your hands, Tana." Rachel hissed.

"Watch your mouth, Berry."

"You know, you'd think for a future doctor you'd be more gentle with your patient."

"Keyword future doctor. I'm still in high school and you should be lucky I've been practicing medical training earlier. Otherwise you'd have to go to the hospital and make up a lame ass story as to how your stitiches hadn't only tore but you've now got the mother of all bruises to show for it. This shit doesn't even look like an accident."

Rachel chuckled. "I know and I love you for it."

"So, what exactly happened? One minute I was in my room studying than the next Shelby tells me to pack."

"Well, I don't honestly know. I was in the middle of infiltration when Hester calls to tell me she kidnapped Quinn."

"That bitch is crazy." Santana scoffed out a chuckle.

"Obviously she can be but.. I think there's more to it."

"Other than her need to pull a trigger or embed a knife through skin?"

"I'm serious, Tana."

"I am too. I mean, don't get me wrong. I love our sister but like I said that bitch is crazy. Do I need to remind you about the time she had a full conversation with the guy she already killed. Giving him a serious lecture about getting blood on her favorite owl sweater?"

"I know and I also know she didn't flip until after she realized the blood stains. She was upset and she already killed him. I think she just needed to vent."

"Still crazy."

"Your one to talk, need I remind you about Amsterdam?"

"Hey, he shouldn't have stolen from me. I needed that vacation bad and dick head thought it was okay to still my diamond encrusted bowl after I let him have a pull of my weed. It wasn't just low budget weed either. I had top grade shit, so no it isn't the same."

"Whatever you need to tell yourself."

The two chuckled about it before Rachel sobered. "Do you think.. Never mind."

"What?"

"No, never mind. It's nothing."

"No, tell me what you were going to say."

"I just.. Hester said something to me that got me thinking."

"What is it?"

"She said, Rachel when will you get it through your head. We can't have normal lives. I was just wondering if you feel the same way?"

Santana's face saddened. "I honestly don't know. I've never been in love and the only relationships I've ever had were physical. Hester may be crazy but that's something I hate to say I've always believed too. That's why I don't have relationships. It'd be too hard for me to deal with. I mean, how are you suppose to explain our lifestyle to someone who may love you? They'd probably run for the hills."

"I guess she's right.."

"I guess, I mean look what happened with Shelby's ex. Now that shit was just sad."

"Yeah.." Rachel replied sadly.

The two stopped talking caught in their own thoughts of never having their own family one day. Their own happiness. Were they always going to live their lives one day at a time?

Shelby pulled up to the house and cut the engine.

"Let's go."

Shelby stepped out of the car without waiting for a reply. Sam and Quinn followed suit.

Sam's eyes widened at the beautiful large house, never having been there before. He was still confused at to what was going on. Quinn said she'd explain everything later.

Quinn already having been to that particular house with Rachel, walked up to it with familiarity.

She rushed in after Shelby and as soon as she entered her siblings squealed in happiness to see her and soon followed by Sam.

Quinn hugged her siblings tightly her eyes pricking with tears as she checked them for any harm.

They were all okay and just when she's going to ask for her daughter, Carmela already had her ready.

"Here you go, she's been waiting for you. I've already fed and changed her."

"Thank you so much, Carmela." Quinn said softly as she gave the woman a hug the best she could with her daughter in her arm.

Sam hugged his siblings one by one. Just then a door across the room from them opened and out walked Hester being escorted by a tall Asian kid. He looked around their age.

"Don't stare or you'll have more problems on your hands." Carmela said to the two. Sam being confused by why Rachel had a problem with them looking at her. "Besides, I think it's time we get these kids to bed, don't you?"

"Uh, actually I just wanted to speak to Rachel really quick than head home. My moms suppose to be able to come home toni-"

"I understand that but unfortunately that's not going to happen." Carmela replied.

"Excuse me?" Quinn asked as she bristled.

"Calm down, it's not a bad thing."

"How is it not a bad thing? You're basically telling us we're not allowed to go home."

"Yes, with good reason. It's seems Hester has been doing a bit of research on you Quinn and what mama Fina now knows she has some questions for you."

"I don't have to answer anyones questions. We are leavin-" Quinn began but was cut off by another voice entering the conversation.

"I understand you completely but all I'm asking for is a few minutes of your time and when I'm done speaking with you maybe then you'll understand why I'm asking for you to stay." Mama Fina said calmly standing tall with her cane.

Quinn swallowed than looked at Sam who was confused by the woman because he wasn't privy to what she was and so she sighed and handed her daughter to him, than ushered her siblings back to the couch and warning them to behave.

The blonde walked toward mama Fina who began leading her to the door where Hester had walked out of.

"There you go, all done." Santana said as she removed her latex gloves.

"Thanks, Tana."

"Seriously, don't mention, like, ever."

Rachel scoffed. "Right and I won't hear about it later when you complain about the things you do for me."

"S'true. So, now that the cats out of the bag so to speak. What are you going to do about blondie and her family?"

Rachel sighed tiredly. "I'm not sure. She doesn't really know much of anything and I want to keep it that way. It'd keep them safe. I mean, as safe as can be considering what her father has done and the position he put their family in."

"Yeah, guy sounds like a real tool but you know that I know you want to protect them more than them not just knowing anything."

"Tana come on-"

"Come on, what? It's true. I was there and though Hester's a psycho, it's true. That girl and her family are now your weakness. So, if they mean that much to you than they mean that much to me." Rachel shot her a look of surprise.

She had thought Santana was going to tell her she needs to leave the Fabrays alone because they can't be helped.

"Listen, I know under normal circumstances I'd tell you to back off but the fact that knowing Hester had her and you not only aborted your mission but was ready to blow Hesters stomach out tells me she's more than a friend... Tell me I'm wrong."

Rachel diverted her eyes not liking how vulnerable she felt in the moment.

She honestly doesn't know what it is about Quinn or the crazy feelings she's dealing with because she's never had them before really for anyone.

It wasn't like it was with her ex she wasn't desperate for some attention and blinded by it.

No she felt affection, real-honest to god-affection and constantly felt this overwhelming urge to hold, console, and protect the blonde with every fiber of her being.

"Hey.." Santana said softly with a hand to the smaller brunette's shoulder.

"It's okay to have feelings and it's okay to want a normal life with normal friends and normal relationships."

Rachel's eyes watered but her tears didn't fall she nodded jerkily. Santana knew that was her cue to leave the brunette alone knowing Rachel didn't like getting sentimental.

"Thanks, Tana."

"Always mija."

"So, you wante-"

"Tell me, Lucy. Why do you continue to have a friendship with Rachel when you already know she isn't a normal acquaintance to have?"

Quinn was thrown by the question. She was so shocked by it, all her thoughts ceased. Why did she still want to be friends with Rachel?

Mama Fina watched the blonde's expression. She was hoping the young teen would say what she hoped to hear. Hoped that baby wasn't making acqaintances with people who didn't care about her. That could hurt her.

"Why wouldn't I be?" Quinn asked rhetorically, realizing that it didn't matter what life Rachel led. The brunette is the kindest, most sincere person she's ever met in her entire life.

"It doesn't matter what life Rachel lives or what supposed danger she could accidently put me in. I may be only sixteen but I've lived enough to know when someone is genuine and compassionate and is worth whatever risk people may find difficult to deal with. I've never met anyone like Rachel and I don't think I care to know anyone else because that's how amazing she is and I may not know everything about her life or her past but I know her as she is now and I care about that person.. So-if her sister or you or anyone is going to try and get me to stay away from her then you need to let that wishful thinking go because nothing and know one will ever stop me from being Rachel's friend!"

Mama Fina stared at the blonde who was now breathing a little deeply and slightly flushed from her tangent.

To say she was impressed would be putting it lightly.

The passion and fire in the blonde's eyes told her the girl before her was a gem. A rare one and needed to be handled with care.

She's ecstatic to know that the feelings weren't one sided. She could see it in the blonde's eyes how much she cared for baby. It warmed her heart to finally see someone genuinely care for her granddaughter.

"Please, Lucy you misunderstand me. I did not mean for what I said to be taken in that context. I meant how are you feeling? Are you worried or fearful of what could happen when associated with this family? I know you don't know much but I can tell your a smart young lady and you are aware that Rachel's presence in Lima goes deeper than what you or anyone else may believe."

Quinn nodded. "I don't really focus on that because I already live in fear everyday. I don't know if Rachel has told you anything about my family but she did tell me that we have a common enemy, once. So really it's no different then if she weren't here. My family still has to live everyday like it could be our last. We don't have the option of safety." Quinn answered truthfully. She felt completely comfortable with this woman and couldn't explain why.

"I see, I will not press you for answers. If you would like to share your families truths with me than I will listen. If not, I understand. All I ask of you is to keep our families presence a secret. You have no idea the danger you could put yourself and your family in by associating with us. You also could put this family in jeopardy. What I am saying is, I'm giving you my trust Lucy. As is the rest of this family. There is a reason only Rachel had been sent here. I hope that you will protect this family by keeping things on the hush."

"Yes ma'am."

"Thank you. Now that, that is out of the way. I offered you and your siblings a place for the night to keep you safe. I am aware of your fathers debt that Rachel helped you with. I know you don't know us very well but I would like to get to know you better. I would like you to have a restful night and we can have a better introduction in the morning. You could meet the rest of Rachel's and have a better understanding of what's going on before you head back home. How does that sound?"

"Okay."
