"For today's hero basic training," Aizawa paused, as he gave off a tired look. "It's turned into a class with three instructors, All Might and I, and one other teacher."
The class stood in silence, not expecting an announcement this early in the morning. Izuku sat at his desk, looking at his teacher with a confused expression. "Turned into? The documents only mentioned All Might and Aizawa."
Behind him, a large shout was heard. "Excuse me! What'll we be doing?" asked Sero as he raised his hand upwards.
"Rescue training," Aizawa said while turning on the projector screen behind him. "Disasters, shipwrecks, and everything in between. These kinds of situations may not occur often, but it's important you understand how to deal with them."
"The training will take place off-campus, so we're taking a bus. That is all, start getting ready."
Izuku glanced around the room, studying his classmates deeply. Wondering how oblivious they were, whether any of them had potential for his visions of the future. He started to get excited at the prospect of seeing fear spread among them, as his classmates helplessly watched in terror as they lost hope.
"Soon the nature of this world will be unravelled," Izuku thought.
Izuku was suddenly thrown aback by his seat being slammed against him.
"Ah, sorry Midoriya, didn't mean to do that," called out a voice behind him. "Sometimes I forget about the tail."
Izuku paid no attention, he sat quietly in his seat, observing the rest of Class 1-A cheerfully talking about the field trip Aizawa mentioned this morning. But before he could take in the landscape through the bus window, he was once again interrupted by a head popping out above him.
"The teacher mentioned search and rescue Deku," Uraraka said with a slight smile, her hair loped to one side. "This is kind of exciting isn't it? We've never been out of the school before too."
Izuku looked up at her, clasping his hands together and smiled back. "Yeah, it's really going to be fun. I'm excited to meet the pro hero Aizawa mentioned today."
"Oh yeah, do not know who it is but you're always excited about that," Uraraka responded.
"Excited, sure, but for all the wrong reasons," Izuku muttered underneath his breath, barely containing his depraved grin.
"Eh, sorry… what?" asked Uraraka with a perplexed look. "Didn't quite catch that."
Before Izuku could say another word, the bus speakers blared on with a deafening cry. "Students, we'll be arriving shortly to USJ," said the voice, coughing loudly afterwards. "Make sure not to forget anything. Your teacher will be waiting right outside the bus."
"Is everyone here?" Aizawa asked with a dreary voice. His body arched forward, showing signs of sleep deprivation. He scanned across the parking lot and then back at Class 1-A. "Well, even if there was someone missing... they would not live to tell the tale."
All of the students froze up, knowing not to speak up.
Aizawa frowned, not looking forward to teaching for the entire day. "Right, well let us get a move on. We do not have all day," he finished, turning to face the giant building behind him.
In front of Izuku stood a large dome spanned across a wide-open area. Surrounded by trees in every direction, in the distance he could see several mountains span across the horizon with the sun slowly peaking out.
"What a spectacle… it amazes me to what lengths this school goes to, to fund such lavish places. Is it for safety? Or is it giving all benefits to those who rise to the top, swimming in all of their spoils, only caring about themselves in the end." He paused his train of thought for a moment and raised his forehead with sudden realisation, "how kind of them to give me such a stage for my performance."
In his pocket, Izuku held onto a small transceiver with a single button.
As the Class-1A walked over to the entrance of the building, only to be greeted by a person wearing a wide astronaut suit. The visor masked their face, letting out only the occasional breath of air from the ventilator at the front.
"Everyone, I have been waiting for you," said the masked figure.
With sudden realization Izuku's eyes widened, recognizing the hero standing in front of him. "The Space Hero, Thirteen. Prioritises rescuing people from disasters." He tapped on the ground for a second before shrugging it off, "Not a problem."
Thirteen raised her arm, pointing towards the facilities in front of her. "Let us go inside without delay."
Inside everyone could see an array of different landscapes, each with different scenarios.
"A shipwreck, a landslide, a fire, a windstorm, et cetera. It is a training ground that I made with different types of accidents and disasters," Thirteen pointed out. "It's called the Unforeseen Simulation Joint, or USJ for short!"
The entire class seemed stunned except for Izuku.
"Thirteen, where's All Might?" Aizawa asked, walking towards the new teacher. "He's supposed to meet us here."
Thirteen looked worried. "About that… it looks like he did too much hero work on his way here and ran out of time." She raised her hands up showing no concern, "He's resting in the lounge room, so I think he'll be here soon."
Aizawa sighed, "That's a new height for being irrational." He gazed across to the side reassured. "Well, we took precautions just in case," he said to himself.
At the news of hearing All Might's condition, Izuku had to barely hold in his excitement. In his mind, Izuku could hear his uncontrolled laughter begin to fester, unable to understand the emotion. "It still lacks the final product," he reckoned. "Wait a little bit more you idiot. Control yourself!"
"Let's see," Thirteen pondered, still holding her arms out, extended to the sides. "Before we begin, let me say a few things."
Without a moment's hesitation, Izuku activated the transceiver before Thirteen could finish her explanation. Immediately a large electromagnetic wave spread across the entire facility, turning off all of the lights and electrical systems.
Izuku knew he had to drag in All Might. He wished it had been later rather than sooner. "So much for the appetizers," he put in. "Toga, you're up."
The class huddled together in shock, unaware of what was going on. Something felt different. There was a chill to this darkness that stood right before them. Several were ready to call it a prank until they heard several glass panes break across the entire dome.
Taking the opportunity, Izuku slipped past and appeared behind Thirteen. A giant humanoid creature jumped down to his side. Handing over Izuku a mask and hood.
"With this, they should not be able to figure out my identity," Izuku asserted himself. "Besides, I've got all the alibis I need!"
He quickly moved in on Thirteen, not letting her escape. Izuku pressed the button once more, releasing the electromagnetic field. All the students of Class 1-A immediately saw the hooded figure behind their teacher, with his finger carefully placed over Thirteen's mouth. A knife in the other, firmly held against her throat.
"Ah… ah… ah," Izuku said with graceful simplicity. "Not a single movement, or sound. Or she dies." He stared down at his classmates, grinning maniacally, before pondering and shifting his head to one side.
Izuku shrugged. "Oh, what the hell… not my responsibility."
Taking the blade firmly without any hesitation, Izuku slashed Thirteen's throat, causing her to gush out blood uncontrollably. At the horror of the UA students, the pro hero fell down trying to clasp onto her throat, gurgling indiscernible sounds.
"Be a hero, they said, protect humanity. Well where are you now?" Izuku questioned under the mask. He looked down at the corpse beneath him with disgust as the hood shadowed his mask, "You look like you belong there."
Several of the students fell down to their knees screaming, with Uraraka throwing up at the sight.
"Ahhhhhh," Izuku exclaimed with hysteria. "How long have I waited for this, I just… couldn't contain it any longer!"
The lights grew back stronger. The reek and stench of blood whisked through the air. Izuku was grateful for the release.
"Such juveniles! Can't even stand the sight of blood? How come you're all just standing there?" He asked with perplexity. "Come on, do something! Follow the training you so meticulously learned. The pro hero might still be alive."
He paused for a moment, staring off into the distance, reflecting caution. "Nomu," Izuku said dryly. "Take care of the other one."
Above at the ceiling, Aizawa lay perched waiting for his moment to strike before any of the students could get hurt. His eyes stayed fixated at the masked figure who had just attacked his colleague, glowing bright red.
To his dismay, the mask looked up straight at him, seemingly laughing. "Don't think I can't see!" The voice chimed impatiently, snapping its fingers. "Oh, and uhm, look behind you."
Aizawa's thoughts abandoned him as a large incoming punch landed straight into his face, causing him to fly towards the other side of the dome structure.
"Mr. Aizawa!" Yaoyorozu cried out, only to be stopped by one of her classmates.
"Shoto…" she whimpered. "What do we do?"
Shoto did not move. He looked up towards the thing that killed Thirteen. "Don't be deceived, the Space Hero is already dead. Aizawa can handle himself."
Several of the students' voices abandoned them. They groped for words that did not come out. It was not possible, their eyes swept back and forth over the bloodied blade, dripping down on the body.
Izuku was impressed, maybe there was some hope to his plan after all.
"Guys," Shoto whispered urgently, with sweat coming down his forehead. "Chances of us defeating him are low. Our best bet is to escape."
The others gave no answer apart from the nod of approval.
Izuku stood motionless, seemingly inviting them to try. "Well, go on then," he said amusingly. "You can try if you wish to, the chase always gets me excited."
"But you know, what really starts to irk me is that you would run away after witnessing me attack a human," Izuku said. "A human being!"
His mind deserted him. "You are just going to let me off! How shameless can you be?" Izuku continued to berate them. "I slit your teacher's throat, and I loved the way her blood painted my knife!"
Izuku began to smother his mask with the blood-stained knife, afterwards grabbing onto his chest. Starting to laugh maniacally, he stabbed his legs multiple times.
The students looked at the masked monstrosity, fear filled their guts like a meal they could not digest.
"Look," Izuku motioned with his arms, "It'll be easier for you to fight me now-"
"Unfortunately, this all ends for you," Aizawa interrupted him. "Don't think you can get away with harming anyone else." He held the beast's crow-like head, throwing it towards Izuku's feet.
Izuku laughed, grasping his mask. "I suppose that is debatable Eraser Head. Your appearance says otherwise."
Izuku could tell that Aizawa was on his last ounce of strength, but he still needed to wait for the main show to begin.
"I am personally amazed that you made it out alive," Izuku continued slowly. Glaring through the mask, he lifted two fingers, "But did you ever stop to consider, that there was more than one of them?"
In a flash, a second Nomu appeared, raising its fist to land a finishing blow at Aizawa. However, it halted. As the Nomu saw the eyes, blue, deeper, and bluer than any others.
Instantly a punch landed in its stomach, causing the creature to fly back several meters away from Aizawa.
"He finally emerged," Izuku muttered. "He's finally here…"
A/N: Can it be? Is there really a new chapter after over a year?! Yes :)
I apologise for the long wait. However I'll do my best to actually finish this story, I think you guys deserve it.
