Situation: Sarah, Kyle, and John meet Teenage Derek for the first time

A teenage Derek (stepping out of the time aging machine): I am a teenager again

Kyle (touching Derek's cheek): You are the cutest thing ever

Derek (resisting Kyle): Please don't touch me

Kyle (laughing): Ok

Sarah: Derek, you are old enough to be my son

Derek: You are not my mom. You will never take her place.

Sarah: I never said I would take her place

Derek (to John): Are you ready for our mission?

John: What mission?

Derek: We are going to save Savannah's parents. They are on Skynet's target list.

John: I don't understand the connection between your teenage self and Savannah's parents

Derek: Savannah's parents were my friends in high school. They will recognize me in my teenage form.

John: I understand

(John and Derek bid Kyle and Sarah goodbye then the time machine transports them to 1994.)

Time Period: A Flashback

Year: 1994

Scene: Jordan's red car

Action: David (aka Derek), Jordan (Jared), and Angela (Claire) are passing time away in Jordan's car. Various rock songs such as Nirvana play on the radio. They are waiting for the school bell to ring for their first class.

Jordan (kissing Angela): I love you

Angela: I love you too

David (amused): I predict you two will get married someday

Jordan (observing David who is in the backseat): What are you doing there in the back seat?

David (texting John): I am texting my nephew

Angela: You are way too young to have a nephew

David: It is complicated

Jordan: I have a cousin that is actually my neice

Angela and David: OH My GOD

(Suddenly the bell rings and the three teenagers rush off to their first class. John lingers on in the shadows.)

Time Period: The Present Reality

Place: A Park

Situation: Post the aborted mission-A Reunion between Derek and Jordan (both adult men and high school graduates)

Jordan: You have a black eye. What happened to your eye?

Derek: My brother's son did this to me

Jordan: Do you mean your nephew John?

Derek: So you remember him

Jordan: Its been 26 years but I still have a good memory

Derek: I am sorry for lying to you and Angela

Jordan: I forgive you. Savannah is fine. Angela has cancer. Life is just too short for us to hold grudges.
