Luna had had a rough couple of days with her morning sickness and could barely keep anything down, Gemma had become worried especially after her unborn grandson's diagnosis. Insisting on helping Gemma made Luna dinner with foods that should help to settle her sickness, even if Luna was sick every time she smelt food.
"you gotta eat something sweetheart...its not good for the baby if you don't..." gemma said browning some mince in a pan her heels clonking every time she moved around in the kitchen.
"I would if I could keep it down Gem..." She said softly sipping at her glass of water, almost spilling it when Jax burst through the front door with Opie and Juice in toe carrying boxes and bags.
".. all this stuff was really hard to find..whats it for..?" Juice asked setting the box and bags he was carrying down on the counter next to Gemma.
Gemma being Gemma looked at him as if he was a little slow on the uptake, which most of the time, yes he was. "Luna is pregnant...she feels sick and can hardly keep anything down...this is food that she should be able to keep down and will settle the sickness.."
Luna eased herself off the sofa when the smell of Gemma's cooking hit her, heading for the bathroom when Jax saw her, she sent him a faint smile as she closed the bathroom door behind her.
Juice was helping Gemma by putting the shopping away while she cooked, Jax, not wanting to crowd the kitchen too much wandered down the hall, hands in his pockets to the bathroom.
The knock at the door came just as her first bout out vomit, the door opened and a hand reached around her face to pull her hair back.
"I got you.." Jax said softly, making sure her hair was out of the blast zone. " it'll calm down...Ma's making something that should help.."
Another bout washed over her, pulling a piece of toilet tissue from the holder and wiping her face, the taste of vomit, making her want to vomit again. "I can't stand the smell Jax..." she flushed the toilet and closed the lid. "She won't leave me alone..keeps trying to make me food..." She felt awful, truly rotten, her bump was starting to make her clothes roll up and had resorted to wearing Jax's shirts just to be comfortable. she took a swig of water from the glass on the counter, swilling her mouth out and spitting it down the sink.
"That's gemma for you, try having the flu and be forced to eat soup that practically melted your face off...but it did cure the flu.," he said with a smile on his face, his hand finding her bump. "Babys getting big now.."
"baby is making mammy feel like crap. Baby isn't letting mammy eat.," she said, tucking her hair over her shoulder so it was out of the way, Luna was generally skinny, even with her quite obvious bump, her frame was still small.
"Come on Darlin'.. let's get you off this floor and somewhere more comfortable... Like bed or the sofa.." He said slowly standing. Heaving her up gently, his hand falling to her bump again. "You have no idea how happy you and this baby make me..."
"Jax.." her cheeks flushed even though she was ghostly pale, she wasn't used to the affection Jax had been showing her lately, besides their one-night stand they hadn't been intimate or anything close, he was caring towards her and her ever-expanding stomach, which she was happy about and grateful he wanted to be in his child's life.
"Don't say anything...please.." He didn't give her a chance to think before he kissed her gently, wrapping his arm around her waist.
Resisting for barely a second before melting into his embrace, her arms snaking around his neck. Her nausea seemed to ease, somehow Jax's wandering hands seemed to take her mind off of it. She wasn't about to deny that she wanted him at this point, but her baby had other ideas, like a nice sharp kick in the kidney for good measure. "God dammit.."
Have and behold the food Gemma had prepared for her stayed down and even settled her stomach to the point she went and had seconds, not even small portions either, Juice was almost horrified by the amount she had just eaten.
Jax helped Gemma with the dishes, bundling the leftovers into a container and storing them in the fridge for Luna to have later. Jax watched her as he dried and put the dishes away, watching as Luna made herself comfortable on the sofa, easing her swollen feet up onto the cushions.
"You look after her Jax...her and the baby.." gem said quietly, looking over her shoulder at her son. "The last thing the poor girl needs is to feel like she isn't wanted..." she said washing the last glass and setting it on the side to drain, drying her hands on the towel as she turned and leant against the counter.
"I know Ma, I'm trying to keep a cool head with the babies diagnosis, I knew it was a possibility..." he said rubbing his chest without realising. " I don't want to lose either of them..." he said absentmindedly putting dishes away.
" That baby is a Teller and will be fine...you and your brother were fine, the kiddo has a damn good chance.." she said trying to keep Jax's spirits up. "Don't let her see you like this, it would break her..."
Jax nodded and put his best smile on even with everything going on, for Luna he would try. By the time he got to sit down on the sofa with her, he finds her sound asleep and snoring lightly. shaking his head at the sight he brought the fluffy cover over her from the back of the couch. "Sleep tight Darlin'..."
