[an] sorry for the delay with this chapter. For some reason it was a bit of a struggle even though I knew exactly what I wanted to write. Then I became busy with work and school . . .this chapter took me quite a while to write. I hope you all enjoy it. Sorry the chapter seems a little choppy. It takes place over multiple days.

Between the Raindrops
"Growing apart doesn't change the fact that for a long time we grew side by side; our roots will always be tangled. I'm glad for that."
— Ally Condie
"Are you guys sure you don't mind me tagging along." Amelia asked as she stuffed her wallet and phone into the pocket of her puffer vest.
"As long as you feel up to going we are more than happy to have you come along." Daniel said. He was sitting on the couch in the hotel room that Amelia and Dean were sharing.
"Yea, we don't mind at all." Tyson added.
"And if you don't feel like going, I can stay back and hang out with you." Dean offered.
"No. I think I'll be okay. I can get a few more pictures to show Maddie. She will love them."
"Maybe you can even find her a souvenir." Daniel shrugged.
"Possibly. Although I probably would have had better luck with that if I had gone with the girls. There is no way I would have been able to keep up with them though."
"That's okay - you'll have fun with us." Tyson got up from his spot beside Daniel. "Everybody ready?"
"I am," Daniel said.
"Me too." Amelia nodded.
"Then let's get out of here."

Amelia was grateful the guys had gone easy on her during their sight seeing tour. They had been patient with her slower pace, and one of them always stayed with her during their jaunt through the countryside.
She had been able to take a lot of pictures to share with Elliot and Maddie; and Daniel had been right, she was able to find souvenirs for them.
After several hours of sight-seeing the group had stopped for dinner before heading back to the hotel. Amelia followed Jon into their hotel room. Once she was inside he closed and bolted the door.
"That was a nice way to spend the day" She sat down on the couch near the fireplace.
"It was" He agreed.
"Sorry if I slowed you guys down any."
"No reason to be sorry. You didn't slow us down."
"Thanks. I can't believe we leave tomorrow. This trip really went by fast."
"Well, we were always pretty busy. It wasn't like an actual vacation where we got to relax."
"Good point." Amelia leaned forward to untie her boots and slid them off.
You should probably rest that ankle. Do you want me to get you some ice?"
"No, no I'm okay. I'll move to the bed and put it up." She got up and walked over to the bed. She sat down, leaning against the headboard.
He sat down beside her, kicking off his shoes, before sitting in the same position as her.
"I am going to give Maddie and Elliot a call - as long as I won't bother you."
"Go for it." He grabbed the remote. He turned on the TV but put it on mute. "I'll find us something to watch after your call."
"Thanks." She got her cellphone out of her pocket and dialed the number, while he scrolled through the channel guide looking for something to watch.

Amelia dragged her suitcase through the front door, holding it open for Dean as she followed her inside. "Home sweet home." She smiled as he walked through the door.
"Finally." He said.
"It sucks we have to wait until tomorrow night to get the dogs." Amelia closed and locked the door.
"I know but, with the signing tomorrow afternoon it makes it a lot easier."
Amelia yawned, "Ugh we just get back to the states and we have to do a signing and a live show tomorrow. I swear I don't know how you guys do this all the time." She made her way to the living room and flopped on the couch.
"You get used to a crazy schedule." He sat down beside her on the couch.
"I guess. Probably by the time I finally get used to it I won't be under contract anymore." Amelia laughed.
"Then you will be on to a new client and you will have to live with them." Dean frowned.
"When I take on another case - yes, I will have to stay with them." Amelia nodded.
"I hadn't really thought about that."
"Most people don't. We still have a long way to go before that happens anyway. When the time comes - usually there is a period of time to help the client get accustomed to the sober companion not being around - a phasing out period, I guess you could call it."
"How will that work?"
Amelia shrugged. "I guess our circumstances are a little bit different. We will cross that bridge when we come to it."
"I never really thought about you leaving."
"It's still quite a ways away. Don't think too much about it, okay?"
He nodded, "Okay."
"Why don't we order a pizza and watch something on Netflix?" Amelia suggested.
"Pizza sounds good."
"I'll go order it - you find something to watch." Amelia said as she got up. "Who knew vacations could be so tiring."
"It's not much of a vacation when you have a camera crew following you around."
Amelia smiled and laughed, "Good point."
-X-X-X-
Amelia was seated beside Dean at a long table. Dean had opted to wear a t-shrit and jeans to the signing. Amelia had also worn jeans, but had paired them with a blue and brown plaid baby-doll tank top with a sweetheart neckline and a brown cardigan. She wore several brown bangles and brown sandals to complete the outfit.
She sat quietly with Dean as he conversed with fans and signed autographs.
She had just completed a signature when a scream from the back of the line caught her attention.
She wasn't the only one, several people in line turned around.
"Someone call a doctor, please. My daughter is having a seizure." A woman yelled.
Amelia grabbed her phone out of her pocket as she got up from her spot. She tapped the timer on her phone and dashed to the back of the line. Several fans were standing in a circle around the girl, who looked to be about eight or nine years old.
"Everyone please move back." Amelia said as she knelt down beside the girl. She slipped off her sweater and folded it up. She carefully turned the girl on her side, tucking the sweater underneath her head. "Can someone please move the rails out of the way" She nodded toward the railings that were being used to direct the line.
Dean rushed over to help a young man move the railings out of the way.
"Has your daughter ever had a seizure before ma'am?"
The woman shook her head, looking terrified. Tears streaked her cheeks and her hands shook.
"I'll call 911" A young man in zip up hoodie said.
"It's okay, the paramedics will be here soon. We'll make sure she is safe." Amelia patted her hand gently. "What's her name?"
"Sarah."
"That's a beautiful name." Amelia said. The woman smiled slightly.
The man returned a moment later. "They're on their way."
When Sarah began to come around, Amelia moved closer and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. "Sarah, help is on the way, okay?" Amelia motioned for the girl's mother to move closer to her. The mother slid over beside her daughter. "Your mom is right here. I'm going to help you sit up okay?"
"Okay."
Amelia helped the girl sit up, providing her with some support until her mother moved closer to hold her.
"You're going to be just fine, Sarah, okay?" Amelia said reassuringly. Her mother stifled a sob as she held her daughter.
"Can you get someone to get these people out of the way so the paramedics will be able to get through." Amelia asked Dean.
He nodded and left to get a security guard. Amelia continued to comfort the girl. The sound of sirens approaching drew the attention of the bystanders, and they were compliant when security asked them to move back.
Amelia got up when the paramedics arrived. One paramedic talked to Sarah and her mother while the other got information from Amelia. They got Sarah onto the stretcher and into the back of the ambulance.
The security guards fixed the railings and kept the crowd in line as they returned to their seats at the table.
"You were amazing, Amelia. And to think you thought you didn't help anyone as a regular doctor. You did a lot of that little girl and her mom." Dean said quietly as they sat down.
Amelia didn't respond. She just gave him a grateful smile before picking up her pen as the next fan stepped forward.

Amelia didn't even wait for Dean to cut the engine before opening the passenger side door and unbuckling her seatbelt.
"Dammit Amelia, are you really going to jump out of a moving car."
"Don't be dramatic, you were already in the parking space." Amelia rolled her eyes and got out of the car.
"And if I needed to back up and park again?" Dean cut the engine, looking vexed.
"You didn't," Amelia countered.
"But what if I did?"
"I just want to see the fur-babies." Amelia complained.
"Well you can't see them if you get run over jumping out of a moving car." Dean said as he got out of the car.
"You would have been going like five miles and hour. I would have gotten a bruise, if anything." Amelia shook her head. She opened the tailgate to get her stuff.
They both grabbed their luggage and made their way toward the arena. They were half way there when Seth pulled into an empty space a little ways ahead of them.
"Don't chase down his car, okay?" Dean teased.
She shot him a dirty look causing him to chuckle.
Seth got out of the driver's side and waved. He opened the back seat and grabbed two leashes. He brought the dogs around the back of the car and Amelia dropped down into a squatting position to pet them both.
"They missed you guys but, they were complete gentlemen."
"We missed you both too. Yes, we did. We missed you so much." Amelia said as she pet both dogs.
Jon crouched down to pet the dogs too, smirking at the way Amelia was babying them. He picked up the puppy and stood up. Amelia picked up Lennox, placing a kiss on the top of his snout.
Seth grabbed his luggage out of the back as Dean and Amelia bonded with their furry friends.
"Thank you so much for watching them Seth." Amelia said, as the trio began walking toward the arena.
"No problem at all. How was the trip?" He inquired as the trio began to walk toward the arena. "What did you do to your wrist?"
"She fell down a hill, skiing." Jon said nonchalantly.
Amelia shot him an exasperated look, "It was pretty good. I did have a little accident skiing, but it's no big deal. Just a little fracture and a sprained ankle."
"Just?" Seth smiled at the description of her accident as he held the door open for them.
-X-X-X-
Roman had arrived early to the arena. He was sitting on one of the couches in the Shield's dressing room. The WWE champion was sitting on the coffee table in front of him. He had to take time off for an injury he sustained at a house show. The injury would require surgery, and he would be out for several months.
Amelia had stepped out to talk to some of the other superstars. Dean was sitting on the arm of the couch, waiting for their cue. Seth was sitting on the other couch, with his feet up.
"So how did you two enjoy the vacation?" Roman asked.
"I think I probably had a better time than Amelia."
"I noticed her cast. Seth said she fractured her wrist skiing."
"Yea, she let Paige talk her into going on a steeper slope. Then we rode a cable car. She didn't like that much either."
"Did you two get a chance to talk?"
Dean nodded, "Everything's good."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Seth asked.
"It means we talked and worked everything out. She said she was willing to give it a try."
"How romantic" Seth quipped, earning a glare from Dean.
"I'm happy for you man." Roman clapped him on the back. "You two are going to be good together."
"Yea, I hope so." Dean smiled.
The door to the locker-room opened and Amelia stepped inside, "They're ready for us."
-X-X-X-
Roman and Amelia stood outside the ring as Dean and Seth battled Drew and Dolph for the tag team titles. It had been a long, back and forth match. Amelia pounded on the mat as she yelled at Dean, who was crawling to the corner to make the tag. Dolph leapt across the ring and tried to grab him, but Dean was able to make the tag.
"Come one Seth!" Amelia cheered from outside the ring as Dean slid under the ropes to the outside. As Seth began to battle it out with Dolph, Amelia went over to check on Dean. After a few minutes, she helped him to his feet and he climbed back up on the apron.
Roman was leaning on the edge of the apron watching the match. He yelled at the referee when Drew interfered, hitting Seth with a cheap shot from the outside. Dolph waited for Seth to stagger to his feet and hit the zig-zag. He pinned Seth and got the three-count because Drew had yanked Dean off the apron.
The bell rang and Dolph grabbed both the titles and rolled out of the ring. Drew had already run up the ramp in order to escape retaliation from Reigns, who was now glaring up the ramp at him.
Dolph dodged and infuriated Ambrose and ran up the ramp. He smiled cockily back at the members of the Shield. He and Drew held up the tag titles before disappearing backstage.
Amelia tried to console Dean, but he shrugged her off. He slid into the ring. Roman had climbed into the ring to check on Seth who was leaning up against the bottom rope. Amelia walked over to check on him too.
"I'm fine," Seth rubbed the back of his neck.
Dean slid into the ring and was pacing back and forth, obviously frustrated over the loss. Roman stood up and held out his hand. He helped Seth to his feet. The fans cheered for the three fan favorites.
The cheers quickly turned to boos as Dean sprinted across the ring, hitting Roman with a devastating lariat. The Big Dog fell to the mat, dropping his WWE championship. Seth stared at Dean, shocked. Ambrose grabbed him and hit him with the dirty deeds.
"What the hell are you doing?" Amelia yelled. She climbed up on the ring apron and slid under the bottom rope.
Dean grabbed Roman and hit him with a dirty deeds as well. The fans booed as he slid out of the ring. Amelia crawled over to check on her clients.
Dean grabbed a steel chair out from under the ring. He tossed it behind him and continued to dig underneath the ring. He pulled out a kendo stick and another chair. He slid the items into the ring.
"Dean, I know you're upset, but don't do this. There your friends." Amelia knelt between Seth and Roman where she had been checking on Roman.
"Get out of the way!" He ordered, holding one of the steel chairs.
"Please." She begged.
"I said get out of the way Amelia."
She slowly backed away. Dean raised the chair, hitting Roman repeatedly with the chair as his body jerked in agony.
While Ambrose was attacking Roman, Seth had made it to his feet. He grabbed the Kendo stick and was going to hit Dean, but Amelia quickly grabbed it away from him.
Seth stared at her, mouth agape. Amelia looked equally surprised about her own actions. She dropped the kendo stick and scooted back.
Dean spun around and hit Seth in the stomach with the chair, causing him to double over. He then struck him across the back. Seth crumpled on the mat, groaning in the pain.
Dean tossed the chair aside and grabbed Roman's leg. He dragged him over to the ring post, wrapping his leg around it. He repeatedly slammed his leg into the ring post before wrapping it around the steel post.
Amelia had scurried over to the corner, begging Dean to stop. He ignored her and slammed Roman's leg into the pole one more time. Roman rolled on the mat, clutching his leg.
Dean got back in the ring. Seth had used the ropes to get to his feet, but Dean easily tossed him out of the ring and into the barricade.
Once Seth was out of the ring, Dean grabbed the second chair. He slid Roman's leg inside and repeatedly stomped on the end, crushing Roman's leg between the pieces of metal.
Security had finally poured out from the backstage area and worked to force Dean away from Roman. Dean walked backward up the ramp, surrounded by security guards, as Amelia looked up the ramp at him. She glanced between Dean and Seth, who was starting to stir outside the ring.
She slid out of the ring and walked over to Seth. She knelt down beside him to check on him as Dean was escorted to the back to end the show.
