Padma sighed, looked at the clock again and shook her head. Luno was late. Luno was constantly late. Usually it didn't bother Padma, but today was different. Parvati had managed to disappear when Padma needed her most. Now, she was trying to run the booth at the Patil Farmer's Market alone. She'd already had a busy morning and now the almost noon crowd was surging leaving her frazzled and worried. She had no idea if Luno was just running late as usual or if something had happened to him. She hoped he was alright. He'd come so far in being himself.

"Padma! Sorry, I got distracted," Luno stated, walking up to the booth. He flashed Padma a smile and then looked around at the neat rows of vegetables lined up at the booth. He picked up a cucumber, looked at it and set it back down gently.

"You're late," Padma stated, doing her best to glare at Luno. He'd been her best friend since they'd both been placed in Flitwick's third grade class together. His name had been Luna then, but even as he'd fought to be called his true name, Padma had always called him 'Luno'. Parvati had been in a different class, leaving Padma to find her own friends. Luno had skipped ahead a year.

Their friendship had formed almost instantly when Padma had protected Luno from some bullies trying to tease him about his long blond hair, and the fact he was more interested in animals than people. She had always been glad they hadn't teased her friend about the fact he was a boy wearing pinks and purples.

That had changed soon enough. Eventually Luno had told the world his true self and everything changed. He was still the quirky boy she'd befriended, but now, everyone else saw him too. Padma had never seen the world the same way again after Luno started explaining things to her.

"I know, I know, I said I was sorry?" Luno offered, giving Padma a sheepish smile. Padma sighed. There was no way she could stay mad at Luno.

"You made it just in time for the afternoon crowd at least," she replied. "You're going to be other the other end of the booth. I don't know what Parvati thought she as doing, disappearing on me today," Padma muttered. Luno shrugged, taking his spot. He was watching Padma as she bagged a pound of tomatoes and handed them off to their current customer. He couldn't help but notice the new designs on Padma's hands.

"What do those mean?" he asked. "I thought I'd seen most of your designs already?"

"Oh, Lavender did these, believe it or not! She's getting better at the designs, this one means love and this one is supposed to symbolize a union, why she thought I needed that particular symbol is beyond me," Padma laughed, nodding to Luno that another customer was approaching the stall. Luno turned his attention to them as Padma started bagging more produce for someone else.

They were busy for about half an hour before they had another break to speak to each other.

"I'm going to the concession, can you handle things here for a minute?" Padma asked.

"Sure, I'll be fine," Luno promised, watching Padma walk away. He smiled finally glad he had the booth to himself for a moment. He had been afraid he'd missed his opportunity entirely by not being there on time this morning. He quickly set his plan in motion, hoping it would take Padma a few minutes at the concession.

"Hey, Luno, they didn't have the lamb gyro I know you like, so I got you veal. I hope that's already with you," Padma was saying as she approached the booth. She stopped suddenly looking at the produce. Luno had rearranged everything. She was about to yell at him when she realized it wasn't use random. Luno had done everything to make the produce spell words.

"Padma, will you marry me?" she read, her eyes widening as she realized what she'd just read. She looked to the back of the booth where Luno was standing holding a small box in his hand.

"Is this for real?" she asked, blinking rapidly. She couldn't believe it. She and Luno hadn't really been dating, or maybe they had been, now that she thought about it. They went to movies together, got meals together, if something went wrong the other was right there. The same as true when something went right. Padma racked her brain trying to remember if they'd ever even made dating official.

"Yes, it's for real, Padma. I know it's a bit sudden maybe, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life without you. I don't want to lose you to someone else because I didn't act. You've always been there for me, and I love you more than any person in the world. I can't imagine my life without you. I know it's not the traditional kind of love, where we kiss and all that, but I do love you, with all my heart," Luno stated. Padma slipped behind the booth.

"Luno, I never even thought about... marriage honestly. We've been friends for so long and you're right. You have always been there for me. You're the one person I can trust with my heart and soul, you're the one person that I think about constantly. You always make me smile, even when you're late."

"I love how you wait for me and know I'm trying, I just-"

"Get distracted, I know, Luno. This really does come as a shock, I mean, I didn't even realize we were dating. We never did put a name to what we were to each other, but yes, I would love to do that now. I want to be your wife, Luno, and you my husband. So, yes, Luno, I will marry you!" she exclaimed as she threw her arms around Luno, hugging him tightly. He returned the hug, slipped the ring on Padma's finger and held her hand the rest of the day while they quickly sold out of produce, wanting to spend the evening watching the sunset together.
