14.
"Levi! Levi get the fuck up, we're going to be late!" Levi heard Farlan yell before the blonde kicked his bed, the vibrations threatening to give him a headache. Levi lifted his head up and glared at the blonde who was already up and dressed.
"What the actual fuck are you talking about you fucking tall shit!" Levi hissed violently. He saw his friend flinch slightly at his tone before steeling himself and straighten up again.
"The library, remember? Me and Iz need help with a few things so you and Harlow promised to help us out." Farlan reminded, ripping the covers off of Levi and putting them in the corner like he had done to the blonde several times when he was reluctant to get up. Levi vaguely remember the conversation, but he certainly didn't remember agreeing to it.
"No what happened, you, imbecile, was you and Iz asked me and Harlow to help. She said yes and I chose not to even dignify such a question with a response." Levi snapped. Farlan rolled his eyes at his aggressive behaviour, walking over to Levi's wardrobe and pulling out a pair of black joggers and a dark grey hoodie before throwing it at the raven.
"Come on Levi. I need your help here. If you teach Izzy, then I can get some time alone with Harlow. I need you, man." Farlan pleaded, using his best puppy eyes. Levi glared it him but got up anyway. Levi tried his best but couldn't ignore the pain he felt at the prospect of helping Farlan get closer to the blue-haired brat. Still, he would bare the pain for his friend.
"Fucking piece of shit, get me up at this shitty hour to go sit in a shitty library on a fucking Saturday, the bastard." Levi mumbled to himself while getting changed but apparently Farlan heard as he laughed in response and replied with.
"Love you too, man."
Levi walked through the halls, next to Farlan on route to the library with his hood over his head. He was in a foul mood and he wasn't going to hide that fact. He was a terrible teacher, like, insanely bad. It was almost pathetic. He had no patience whatsoever. And he was supposed to teach Izzy, the dumbest shit alive. Maybe that title was slight unfair, she had intelligence but no common sense when it came to easy things like maths and English. Levi was certain he would have a migraine by the time this revision session was over. Plus, he had to watch Harlow and Farlan all cosy together, and he was not looking forward to that.
Levi and Farlan's phone buzzed at the same time and Levi groaned in response, not even needing to check it to know who it was from. Farlan laughed beside him, getting his phone out and opening the message.
"Woah! Fucking hell, that's good." Farlan said with a wide smile. Levi quirked a brow at his reaction, now curious enough to get his own phone out and look at the message. Ah, he should have known. It was Harlow's painting of him. The blonde was right, it was still really good, even after seeing it for the second time. Although his friends didn't know it was the second time and if he had his way they wouldn't know. "Levi, you seeing this?" Farlan asked, snapping Levi out of his daze.
"Yeah, the brats not bad." Levi replied in a monotoned voice. Farlan scoffed next to him before pushing the doors open to the musty old library and walking in.
"Not bad! It looks just like you!" Farlan exclaimed putting his phone next to Levi's face for a better comparison. Levi glared at him and slapped his hand away. Farlan yelped and drew his hand back, rubbing the already red patch of skin. Sometimes Levi underestimated his strength but this time he didn't care. The blonde deserved it. He had invaded his personal space.
"Levi! Farlan over here!" Izzy yelled from the other side of the library. She got a sharp glare from the librarian before said librarian lent on her elbow and fell back asleep. If that wasn't a clear sign it was too early to be here Levi didn't know what was. The pair moved toward the redhead. Levi looked next to her to find Harlow in a similar state to him in leggings and an oversized flannel shirt, leaning her head on the table. Levi assumed it was from lack of sleep like him. They sat down on the round table, Farlan eager to sit beside Harlow and Levi letting him.
"Hey, Harlow, are you okay?" Farlan asked, concerned, while Izzy got out her notebook and pencils. Farlan did the same while Levi and Harlow just sat there. They were smart enough to remember everything. They didn't need their notes, not that they made any anyway. In Hanji's class, Harlow normally doodled on her notebook while Levi stared out the window. Harlow moved her head, so it faced Farlan but was still on the table and frowned.
"Tired." Harlow grumbled before hiding her face again. Farlan laughed at her and patted her on the head. Levi ground his teeth to hide the jealousy he felt watching his friend touch her.
5 minutes later and Harlow was a lot more chipper. Almost too chipper. She kept looking to the clock and back again. Eventually she got up completely, not explaining where she was going before heading off to the computer room. No one else seemed to notice, too busy trying to figure out the problem Levi and Harlow had given them. Levi was bored so he got up and followed her. When he got into the computer room Harlow grabbed his wrist and pulled him to the side. Levi felt a fire lingering where she was touching him, replaced by ice when she let go, like always. Levi looked at her quizzically.
"What are you up to, brat?" Levi asked, his tone slightly irritated. Harlow grinned proudly.
"We are getting out of here. It is way too early to be doing this shit. There's a bus into town that leaves in 5 minutes. I heard about a tea store that imports their tea from London. I printed loads of worksheets to keep them going, before they realise we are gone. You in?" Harlow smirked. Levi couldn't help but smirk back. Her proposal sounded much better than sitting in a library for a few hours teaching a pointless subject to their idiot friends. Plus, he was too tired to think about the consequences right now.
"Alright, brat. How are we going to pull this off?" Levi replied. Harlow's smirk widened. She grabbed the stack of papers on the printer and started heading out of the room before turning back to look at Levi.
"Follow my lead." Harlow whispered, starting to walk back to their table. Levi followed, supressing his excitement at getting out of here and wearing his usual bored/irritated face. When they got back to the table Harlow dropped the stack of papers on the table before separating them into two piles. "This one's for English and this is for Maths." Harlow started pointing to each of the piles. "If you can get through this, you'll be masters." Harlow smiled. Farlan and Izzy scowled at the paper but nodded and thanked her anyway. Levi was still wondering how their friends were going to let them leave this place. "Me and Levi are going to go and get coffees for you guys to help you work. What'd you want?" Harlow asked.
"Harlow, you are a goddess!" Izzy stretched. Harlow smirked and gave a knowing glance to Levi.
"I know." Harlow replied. Levi was shocked. Was the blue-haired brat secretly evil? Was it weird that Levi was really liking this evil side of her? The two placed their orders with grateful smiles and Levi and Harlow made it to the exit. When they were out of the pairs eyeline Harlow grabbed Levi's wrist again and started pulling him along. "Run!" She whisper-yelled.
"Brat?!" Levi asked, dragging slightly behind on purpose so the brat could explain herself. Harlow laughed, continuing to pull a reluctant Levi through the halls and toward the front gates.
"Bus leaves in 2 minutes, move your ass!" Harlow explained. Levi smirked before ripping out of Harlow's grip and taking her wrist, starting to push himself and dragging Harlow along with him. Harlow's laughs echoed through the empty walls and Levi couldn't help but smile at the ridiculous situation. This would be an interesting day.
Somehow against all odds, they had made it onto the bus in time. They paid for their tickets and took a seat at the back, both panting heavily from the work out. Harlow laughed once she caught her breath back and Levi had to do everything in his power not to laugh with her, although he did allow a small smile on his face.
"We made it! Thank fuck, I was way too tired for that. Promise or no." Harlow chuckled as the bus started moving and the school disappeared behind them, their friends with it. Levi let out a puff of amusement.
"You promised? Rookie mistake, brat." Levi replied, leaning back on the leather seat, realising a large breath of satisfaction. Harlow glared at him playfully and nudged him in the ribs.
"Rock, paper, scissors, to who's going to tell them." Harlow suggests with a smirk. Levi rolled his eyes.
"What are we 5?"
"Got a better idea?" Harlow retorted. Levi tried to think but his tired brain wasn't letting him. Eventually he shrugged and held out his hand. Harlow smiled and followed suit. "Ready. 1, 2, 3, shoot." Harlow said. They both showed their hands and Levi smirked in victory.
"Rock beats scissors, brat." Harlow frowned.
"Best of three?" Harlow suggested with a cheeky grin. A simple glare from Levi gave her the answer to her question. "Fine." Harlow rolled her eyes and pulled out her phone. Once she was done, she read out the message. "'Hi guys, sorry for doing this but it was too fucking early, and we needed some real fucking tea. I wasn't lying about the worksheets, if you do them, you'll be fine. Help each other, we'll be back at some point. Maybe we'll even bring you back some tea if you're not too bitchy about this. Have fun, bye.' What do you think? Too truthful, or maybe not truthful enough." Harlow debated. Levi let out a small laugh, grabbing the phone and pressing send before handing it back to her. Harlow turned to him with wide eyes. "Levi! I was clearly joking, that was way too mean!" the girl scolded. Levi shrugged.
"It was to the point. I'm sure they'll appreciate it." Levi said simply. Harlow scoffed.
"Have you met those two before?" Harlow laughed. Levi smirked and shrugged again, looking out the window and watching the world go by. Yes, he was worried about his friends' reactions but for now he would just live in the moment. His moment, with the blue- haired brat.
