Out in Sanctuary earlier that day Dohko was watching his ex-student and son-in-law who was sadly still in a coma. He sighed it was hard to see him like this he was always a strong boy and seeing him lying there helpless didn't seem right. He said, "Come on Shiryu, you got to wake up I have been able to keep your wife as peace, but your son needs your guidance."

Around nine at night he was about to go home and seeing Mushu and his friend since it was Christmas eve when he heard a moan. Dohko quickly looked up and saw Shiryu moving around on his bed and trying to open his eyes. Dohko went to Shiryu and told him that he was okay and that everyone was alright just wake up.

Shiryu didn't know what was going on for months know he was hearing voices. He knew who they were, but he couldn't wake up. Every time that he tried to fight the darkness the dragon cloth would roar in protest and force him to remain still telling him that he wasn't ready to wake yet. Finally, he was able to wake without the dragon telling him that he wasn't ready. He knew that the dragon was helping him, but he just wanted to be with his family and friends. When he was finally able to open his eyes, he smiled at his sensei. Putting his hand on Dohko's he said, "Dohko, thank you for looking over Shunrei and Mushu while I couldn't. How long do you think Athena is going to hold me captive here, I would love to be home for Christmas?"

Dohko laughed and said, "I think that she would allow you to see your family for Christmas as long as you don't exert yourself."

Shiryu nodded as Dohko went to call Athena and the doctor. Shiryu laid back down as he thought back to his son and wonder if he was okay at that school. He had been worried since he heard Aldebaran tell him that he doesn't believe that his son really like school but is too afraid to say anything. He also didn't care for the Potter's since Dohko told him of some of the things that Mushu had told him. The Potter's were crossing the line while they did train more than most people, they still let Mushu still have a childhood. It was just that Mushu lived in isolation and wasn't into pranks or even joking.

Shiryu was brought out of his thoughts when Athena and the doctor came in and the first thing, they noticed was that Shiryu was awake. The doctor did a quick evaluation and said, "I can't believe this, but Shiryu you're not blind anymore."

Shiryu was in shock but he was also somewhat pissed off He had lived most of his life since he was fourteen blind. He fought better without his eyesight. He sighed as he said, "It had to be the goblins. They give me something that I was fine without."

Dohko laughed and said, "Shiryu, at least now you can at last see your son for the first time along with help him with his cosmos and fighting abilities."

Shiryu smiled as he said, "Yea, I know, and I will just train blindfolded so I don't lose the abilities I have when I can't see it's a good ability to have."

Athena said, "Since the doctor says that you are fine then I can let you finish recuperating at home as long as you don't exert yourself Shiryu."

Shiryu replied, "It's late I will sleep here tonight and go over to the house tomorrow with my brothers. They can give me as a surprise for Mushu."

Dohko nodded as he went home not telling Shiryu about the girl that his son brought home with him.

The next day Seiya was talking to Shiryu with Hyoga about everything that he missed. Shiryu was surprise that in a few days Ikki would be joining Hyoga and himself as gold knights.

Shiryu said, "So, Seiya when are you going to jump into the band wagon and join the gold knights?"

Seiya replied, "Maybe sometime in the spring or summer I hate the winter and the only reason why Aioria postponed it was because both you and Mushu was in a coma. Otherwise, it would have been done at the end of August."

Shiryu nodded as they reached the gate and saw Ikki and Shun waiting for them. As they step out of the gate of Sanctuary, they teleported to Shiryu's house in China. Shiryu smiled as he heard his wife and son talking in the living room which meant breakfast was over. Shun smirked as he moved Shiryu forward and whispered to Shiryu to knock on the door. Shiryu didn't understand why he had to knock since he lived in the house and even his brothers had an open-door policy not that they ever used it.

Shunrei heard the knock along with the two children since Dohko was still asleep he had come home late last night. She sighed as it was probably just Shiryu's brothers who could just come in, but they always knock. She and Shiryu had told them until they were blue in the face and finally decided that it was best to stay silent about the debate. Looking at the children she said, "Mushu, why don't you go and get the door it's more likely your Uncles."

Mushu nodded as he walked to get the door. He opened it and blinked as he was surprised. He was hoping that his eyes weren't deceiving him as he saw his papa standing in front of the doorway with his Uncles.

Shiryu smiled as he said, "Merry Christmas son. Now let us in it freezing out here."

Mushu smiled as he laughed and let his papa and uncles in. Ikki shut the door as Mushu dragged his papa to the living room where his mom and friend were waiting. Right when Mushu was able to drag his Papa into the living room, the two were only able to see a blur of purple and black. Shiryu took a step back from Mushu and caught the blur which turned out to be his sobbing wife.

While Shiryu was calming down his wife Mushu walked toward his friend and said, "Hermione, these are my family the one holding my mom is my Papa Shiryu, and the rest are my uncles Seiya, Shun, Ikki, and Hyoga. I also have 5 other uncles and some honorary uncles, but I normally only see them when I go to Sanctuary."

Hermione nodded as she looked at the five men that were waiting for Shunrei to calm down. When Shunrei calmed finally Mushu looked at his family and said, "Everyone, I want you to meet my friend Hermione."

Seiya looked at the young girl and said, "Nice to meet you Hermione I heard Mushu introduce us, so I won't do it again."

Hermione nodded as she smiled at them. She was unsure how she was supposed to act around these people. Mushu had told her that all she had to do was be herself, but normally when she did, she was ridiculed. Shun notice the young girl looking nervous and went over to her and asked, "Hermione, what's wrong?"

Hermione replied, "I don't know how to act. I have never been good being around new people or people who understands me."

Shun replied, "I'll let you in on a secrete okay. Act like you normally would we won't judge you. Take Ikki for instance he acts like a lone wolf, but he loves all of us here especially Mushu. Seiya may be the youngest and the leader but he loves to put a smile on anyone's face. Hyoga enjoys a good debate just don't let him in a kitchen alone. I enjoy anything and am knowledgeable about Greek mythology. Then you have Shiryu, who is just knowledgeable about almost anything in history and loves to be in the wilderness. Shunrei knows all about magic and loves making potions. While Dohko is just a history magnet and loves being a teacher."

Hermione smiled as Shiryu and the others brought Hermione in their normal Christmas routine. For the first time in a long time Hermione was laughing and having fun. She realized that this was what a family should be like and wondered why her family wasn't like this. Her family was so different she was normally alone since both of her parents were dentists and it seems like the only time; they spent any time together was when they went on holiday. She could tell that everyone here had a close relationship.

Shiryu noticed how Hermione was acting and decided to see how smart his son's friend was after Shun told him what he had found out. Shiryu said, "Hermione, what do you think about the knights of Athena?"

Hermione replied, "I'm not sure since I can't find anything on them and Mushu is quiet about it he won't share much."

Shiryu replied, "Sorry about that, I told Mushu not to talk about it since I was weary of the headmaster. If you promise to not share, I'll tell you more about the society."

Hermione nodded as a smile appeared on her face and Shiryu started to tell her all about the saints. Mushu looked at his friend and had to laugh as he saw his papa taking his time to answer any question that Hermione was asking. He thought yep both were in their realm.

Dohko came down and smiled as he saw that everyone was happy and having a good time. He thought that this was the reason why Athena was so for these boys to have a normal life alongside their saint life. The other saints never got to see this side of life the one full of fun and laughter.

Dohko said, "Everyone I think Shiryu has something to tell you about?"

Shiryu sighed as he said, "Okay, I was told by Dohko that I wasn't allow to say anything until he was up. From what the doctors said was when the goblins were trying to take the blocks off my magic, they were also able to repair my eyesight."

Seeing everyone's blank stare he sighed and said, "I'm not blind anymore."

Shunrei smiled as she ran and hugged her husband while the brothers were debating on how long Shiryu would go before becoming blind again. Let's say that they all agreed it wasn't going to be long at all. Shiryu had heard them and flipped them off. Hermione was trying to figure it out while Mushu asked, "Papa, do I live up to your standards of what you thought of me when you couldn't see?"

Shiryu looked at his son and said, "Mushu, you will always live to my standards. With me being able to see I will be able to help you with your training and I can help you with the dragon cloth better as I can see, and we can get away from Dohko to actually train."

Mushu nodded as Hermione saw that Shiryu and Mushu had an unbreakable bond.

Dohko said, "Hermione, Shiryu was the one who found Mushu when he was young. If Shiryu never told him about the saints, then Mushu wouldn't be who he is today. Shiryu trained him with my help but Shunrei and Shiryu raised him. Mushu always looked up to Shiryu even when he was blind."

Hermione nodded as she watched the two.

Over the holiday Shiryu made sure that he included Hermione into their training sessions if she wanted to. The preteens amazed him as Mushu who normally hated to work on the beginning lessons would do it with Hermione and try to help her along the way. Shiryu was impressed as it taught Mushu that sometimes you must let go of personal wants.

Early January Mushu, Hermione, and Shiryu was getting ready to go and see if Ikki would be joining the gold knights. Shiryu was able to convince Athena to let Hermione watch this match as she was researching how the knights worked and how they acted. What better way for her to research this by going to were most would be gathered. The pope and Athena only agreed after Shiryu promised that she would keep it to herself and if it did get out then he would take all responsibility.

As they made it to Sanctuary Hermione was in shocked and Mushu replied, "That when people see it for the first time, they all have the same reaction of its beauty."

Shiryu really didn't see the beauty of this place but then again, he never got a good look as when he got his sight back, he was fighting for his life any other time he was blind. As he moved his group along, he told them that he had to check on the Libra temple first then they would go to where the fight was going to take place.

Mushu nodded as they did this every time plus he wanted to see how Hermione would do with all the steps. Mushu remembered how he hated the steps at first, but after a while he got use to running up them all. Especially as he would stop and talk to his honorary and adoptive Uncles. Mushu and Hermione were telling Shiryu what was happing at Hogwarts and that the teachers seem to not be doing anything about it and Mushu even told them that he hated the school and he wanted nothing to do with the Potters.

Shiryu nodded and told the children that if they feel like they had to figure it out then do it just be careful and use the cosmos only if there was no other choice. He also told Mushu that he would talk to Shunrei and Dohko about the Potter's and find out what could be done. He didn't see an issue since Mushu was adoptive by both magical and muggle by him and his wife plus being trained as a saint solidified the adoption.

As they got to the stairs Hermione said, "No wonder why Mushu has, so much stamina. I hope I can keep up with you Mushu since I do your running exercise and with the training Shiryu gave me."

Shiryu replied, "Just try your best Hermione my brothers and I couldn't even run all of them when we came here the first time at the age of fourteen."

Mushu and Hermione started to run while Shiryu quickly walked he was in no rush since they had left with plenty of time to do this. He really wanted Hermione to see how the saints truly act and what his job was. He hadn't seen someone this enthusiastic about learning about the saints since Mushu was small. As he made it to the temple of Aries he smirked as the two children were talking to Mu and Kiki. Kiki was close to also getting the gold cloth but wanted to wait until Shiryu's group got the cloth first. He had a great friendship with all of them, but he felt like he needed to wait. Mu understood that Kiki didn't want to make Seiya and Shun feel pressured about getting the gold cloth. Plus, Mu didn't mind being a gold knight, so he wasn't in any rush to pass the torch. Shiryu nodded as he heard Mu finished about telling the children about the seventh sense.

As they finally made it to the Libra temple Hermione felt drained since she was used to running but not uphill. Shiryu smirked as he watched the children catch their breath as he checked to make sure everything was going well. He didn't see anything wrong with the temple and he got the children's attention. He told them to follow him so that he could show them where they would be sitting and do his duty with security. He always watched the audience walk in and make sure no fights broke out while they waited to get in. The gold knights always choose Shiryu, Shura, and Aldebaran to paly guard since they all had a big reputation that no one ever wanted to mess with them.

As everyone sat and the three guards came to their seats. Hermione asked, "Has anyone ever been killed during these trails?"

Aiolos replied, "Sadly, we have had contenders die going for any cloth. We know that are lives are on the line. We can die at any given time even in training for a cloth. It's the way of life and we understand that we die if not strong enough. Thankfully, the saints that are training for the gold right now, know how far we can go as they all fought us at one time or another. The last two only fought until their teacher passed out. Well, Shiryu's fight was the most interesting and they literally blew everyone out of their seats. Hyoga's well let's just say that it was long and freezing. Knowing Ikki and Aioria this battle will be quick as they both hate the cold."

Hermione nodded as the battle was about to start. Everyone was watching the battle and the two children were watching with interest. Shura looked at Shiryu and said, "So, what's up with the girl?"

Shiryu replied, "Hermione, is Mushu's friend from school. I have a feeling that she wasn't wanted at home, but she loves learning and she is interested in the saints. I have been talking to her and apparently Mushu was her first true friend. Last year she had Neville and hung out with him, but it was just okay I'll hang out it wasn't a friendship. She is now friends with Mushu, Neville, and a girl named Luna."

Shura replied, "Keep an eye on her, I have a feeling that there is more going on than what she is telling you. It's strange that her parents didn't want her home for the holidays, and they were okay with her going to another country."

Shiryu nodded since he had the same idea as Shura. As he watched the two kids starting to cheer for Ikki to win as he was just wishing for them to finish up so he could get warmed up he was not a fan of the cold and he wanted to just sit next to a fire. He had hoped that Hyoga would have been the last cold fight for a while, but it was not the case.

As the battle ended with no real flare as Ikki kept it simple and wasn't worthwhile to even mention. Hermione had noticed that Ikki and Aioria were just trying to end it quickly because of how cold it was. She even had a heavy coat on trying to stay warm. The only two who looked comfortable was Hyoga and Camus. Everyone else was looking at their watch seeing how long it would be until they could warm up even Mushu had a look of hurry up I'm freezing.

As the battle finally finished with Ikki the victor Shiryu and Mushu didn't wait a minute to leave the stadium with Hermione. Hermione giggled as Shiryu mumbled about if anymore of his brothers wanted to go gold then they can do it in warmer weather. Hermione smiled as she noticed that everyone was meeting in the Libra temple. Mushu told Hermione that every time that one of them went to go for the gold cloth that they hold a party for that person. He also told her that they only did it twice one was for his papa and the second was done before the fight for Hyoga, since the battle was in the frozen category.

Ikki came down with Aioria as they entered the Libra temple Seiya turned on the music and started the party. Everyone rolled their eyes at their younger brother made a fool of himself. Ikki just sighed as Shiryu told him that if he and Hyoga had to deal with a party then he had to deal too. Aioria didn't mind as he started to dance with Hermione after she asked him for a dance. She wanted to see if saints could dance and by watching Seiya she didn't have high hopes. So, she was pleasantly surprised that Aioria was a spectacular dancer.

Aioria said, "Don't be surprise Hermione. Fighting is a form of dancing, so most saints can dance. Seiya is one of the few who have two left feet when it comes to dancing but can give a good fight."

Hermione nodded as she went to go and sit down for a bit. She smiled as she saw both Shiryu and Mushu talking to Shura about something and went to go and find out what. Shiryu saw Hermione come over and motioned her to sit down next to Mushu as they kept talking about why Mushu was having trouble with Excalibur.

As the party dwindled down Shiryu left with Hermione and Mushu as they had to leave the next day for school. Shiryu had told both children if they didn't want to return next year that they didn't have too. When Hermione looked at Shiryu he had told her that he was worried about her and would make sure that she was safe. She didn't understand but she had a funny feeling that Shiryu was going to investigate her family.
