Overlord. A shadow lord appears

This is an overlord/ Nier crossover though minor in this case mostly being a mix of Automata and Replicant (Brother Nier instead of Daddy Nier)

James Harrison 15 years old was a relatively well-off individual being the Heir of one of the major mega corporations and living in one of the Arcologies. He would never need to work a day in his life. Of course, everything wasn't perfect his parents where dead and he and his little sister Artemis 10 years old are the only members left of their family after a car crash killed their parents years ago.

Being part of the elite didn't make it very easy to make friends with most of the upper class looking to stab each other in the back and the lower classes being worked almost to death. There was little point in leave the large building they live in never mind the domed Archology.

They didn't really work both being too young to take up their place in their company that was being managed via an AI anyway.

Thankfully they found Yggdrasil five years into what would turn out to be a 12-year life spans. Before that they had just wondered from hobby to hobby. Before then the games that he loved the most was the old classics of Nier and Nier Automata remastered on to the ancient PS7 he had picked up.

So, when setting up the guild me made with his sister and some people he found in game (who later left the game and guild 3 years before the end) he set about making it as like the shadow lords' caste as possible. The only race that he needed to have added where Gestalt aka Shades. Homunculus fill the role of Replicants, Automatons filled the part of Androids and Golems where able to fill the role of Pods and Grimoire.

Automatons where already a sub class of Golems anyway. So, skills in making golems counted to help make Automatons and with access to basically an endless amount of money he was able to get a lot of things for this both via the cash store which added permanent upgrades to both the guild like the separated dimension trick that was one of the main defences of the guild and his and his sister's characters and info on any items or resources he could even just buy any item needed (which lead to them having 32 shooting stars) which led to the item he needs to get the race he wanted added to the game.

Ouroboros which he would later find again and stored it in the guild vault after using it to have Shades added as a race. Shades where weak to holy magic and got a debuff from being in the sun (there was way's around this). But they were so powerful besides that starting with a decent resistance to all but holy magic and an immunity to both poison and none enchanted weapons on top of that both shadow, blood and all other magic that can be classed as dark got a buff.

Not even to meant the possession ability it was similar to a doppelganger but more situation and powerful as unlike the doppelganger they are 100% as powerful as the creature they take the appeal of and when the vessel is killed the Shades is not damaged at all. Of course, it needed to be used on another creature either willing or not (NPC's you own count as willing as well as a Player can accept the possession, thou in that case either player can be in control giving access to both mp bars to the controlling player) of course unwilling take damage as the possession is going on. And the ability had a cool down of 1 hour between a possession ending and being able to use it again.

The guild base they had built was massive and had a lot added to it for effect underground mines that could be used to get any material up to Adamantite with flavour text that magic causes it to regrow and below and show farms to make food and other items useful for potions, scrolls or blacksmithing. Workshops top make Golems and Automatons alongside Homunculus that look like the items that in Nier was used to do so and other things that were used to lower the Maintenace costs of the guild to zero.

The guild had 11 world items once of which could count as a member of the 20 if it was known about as it offers to the guild it was connected with free resurrection of both NPC's and Players in terms of gold and exp. It only issue was that it took 48 hours to resurrect an NPC or player and that either was only resurrect with half health and mana full thou this was fine in some ways as it takes more than that to get back the level's lost unless true resurrection was used.

The guild NPC's were based on the Nier characters the major Shades and Replications for the original Nier alongside Devola and Popola and Yorha characters like A2, 2B, 4S, 9S, 6O, 21O, Commander White and so on besides characters from both games filling the caste and covering any kind of role that be needed to be like 2B and 9S being floor Guardians.

It also had true dragons as NPC's that in their lore were made by cloning them for the remaining samples of the dragon left after its corpse was stolen.

And that they alongside Yorha being knocked back in time with the knowledge of magic they had from the future and White's knowledge of what really happened to mankind they were able to fix the issues with Project Gestalt though not in the way it was hoped using the dragons to stabilise the Gestalts and changes to link the Replicants to their Gestalt to link them closer together though the fusing that was hoped for didn't happen.

But when Gestalt possession their Replicant both could reproduce thou once the offspring born, they separate into a Gestalt and link to the replicant system to create a new Replicant when the replicant they are born within died. When the Replicant is carrying a child, the Gestalt can't leave the Replicant. At least that the lore that he had written.

And the reasons that the base was linked to Yggdrasil in the first places was accidently being cut off from their original world after a ritual that spread the update to the Gestalt though out the whole world taking 21 of the 100 cloned dragons with them the 21 dragons that came with them being name for Drakengard dragons like Mikhail, Angelus and Gabriella as well as other mythological dragons. Thou these where the only things he really took from the linked games.

Though there was not a Shadowlord or Yonah as he had taken the role of Shadowlord for himself and his sister had taken the role of Yonah. And they were for the last time log into to Yggdrasil while he had a new server set up to hold the base and everything in it including their characters it was the last time, they would be in the real game. And currently they were both in the throne room with 5 mins left.

Well that everything for now on this as I'm not going to continue this story I'm leaving it here so anyone that pick it up can take it anywhere they want though I suggest maybe having the entrance link to either the Baharuth Empire or Roble Holy Kingdom and have an early look at Neia Baraja or Arche Eeb Rile Furt and how having them meet James aka Nier before Ainz
