So you guys know, this chapter's gonna go far out there. Be prepared for one character being eaten and saved from their devourer and a bit of mostly accidental pervertism from Teal later on. Hope you guys won't be offended.

After leaving Lavender Town, Teal and Kayla set up their tent on the next route.

"I'm happy you won the battle with Blue, Teal, but you can't let it go to your head." Kayla advised. "After all, you still only have two badges. Blue's probably on his way to Celadon City. If he beats this Gym, he'll have four badges at least!"

"I'll catch up." Teal said, attaching the TM collar device to Nidoqueen's arm. "Don't worry about me. But before we get to Celadon, I wanna stop by Saffron. After all, before I moved to Pallet, I was living there."

"Fond memories?" Kayla asked, ignoring whatever he was doing.

Teal silently nodded. "Well...when my dad was still living with us."

"Is he-" She made a slashing gesture across her throat.

"Hmm? Oh. No. He just up and left us one day. Never gave a single excuse. And I don't want one either."

Teal's current party, Ivysaur, Beedrill, Nidoqueen, Pikachu, Raticate and Golbat looked up at him sadly.

"Hey. It's okay. My mom's doing just fine without him. Besides." He sat down and wrapped his arms around Ivysaur and Beedrill. "I've got all of you with me."

"(Aww!) Ivysaur droned, nuzzling his leg.

"(This would almost be touching, but Spear does not care for physical contact.)" Beedrill buzzed.

"(Lighten up, dear!)" Nidoqueen mused. "(After all, the trainer's just showing us some appreciation.)"

Beedrill leered quietly at her and shrugged.

Cappy was doing heroic poses by herself, until Raticate approached.

"(Hmm…)" The larger rodent hummed before mimicking her flamboyant moves. The Pikachu saw what he was doing and giggled.

"(That's a good start! But maybe you should come up with some poses of your own.)"

Raticate blushed and walked away, still facing her. Golbat stifled a snort.

"Hey! Are you the guy that beat Lt. Surge?" A voice called. The two kids turned to see your average Super Nerd class trainer approach.

"That'd be me, yeah?" Teal replied.

"I'm challenging trainers doing the Gym Challenge as an experiment. Why don't we have a battle?"

Teal put his bandana on. "Well, since you asked nicely."

"Thank you." The nerd replied, pulling a Poke Ball out of his shirt pocket. "Go, Grimer!"

In a flash of light, a slime-bodied purple creature appeared.

"Grrriiii!" The creature groaned, balling it's oozing fists.

"Nidoqueen, you're up, girl!"

"Queen!" Nidoqueen nodded and stomped out to face Grimer.

"Use Tackle attack!" Nidoqueen charged in and rammed into Grimer, knocking it back a bit.

"Grimer, use Pound!" Grimer slithered up and gave Nidoqueen a slap in the belly. The armored Pokémon merely rubbed her stomach and ignored the attack.

"Nidoqueen has naturally high physical defense." The opponent replied.

"Good job, Queenie!" Teal exclaimed. "Now use Water Gun!"

"Ni-doh!" She bellowed, spewing a stream of water from her mouth. Grimer was hit and dispersed, reforming uneasily.

"Gri... Gri…mer."

The Super Nerd bit his lip. "This is not my battle. Grimer, use Harden!"

The pollution Pokémon fully destabilized before crossing his arms and stiffening up to boost his defense.

"We'll show you just what that's good for!" Teal declared. "Nidoqueen, use Rock Slide!"

The Poison and Ground-Type gave a cry and a mighty stomp, kicking up stones. She whipped around, slapping them toward Grimer with her tail. The living sludge blob wailed as he was struck by the attack.

"Griiiiimmme…" It groaned as it lost consciousness.

"Grimer, return!" His trainer called, ball converting him into energy and drawing him inside. He pulled another and threw it. "Get 'em, Muk!"

The ball opened, revealing a massive living pile of purple slime, essentially a larger and more violent-looking Grimer.

"Muuuuuk!" The Poison-Type bellowed, before leering at Nidoqueen.

"(Teal, swap me out now, I don't like how this ones looking at me.)" Nidoqueen vocalized.

"You're still ready to go, Queenie?" Teal asked, not understanding her Pokespeak.

The hefty female turned back to her trainer with wide, pleading eyed as the animated sludge ooze approached.

"I think she wants you to call her back, Teal!" Kayla called.

"Are you sure, Kay? She didn't take much damage in the fight with Grimer."

Muk slithered up to Nidoqueen, making kissing motions with his large maw. The regal Pokémon grimaced before spewing Water Gun to shove him back. Muk didn't take too kindly to that, and rose up, giving her a Pound attack to the face.

"(Oh you pile of shit!)" Nidoqueen screeched, Tackling him in a rage.

"Muk, use Mega Punch!" The Super Nerd exclaimed.

"Mukmuk!" Muk roared, jabbing his fist into her round stomach and knocking the wind out of her. The Nidoqueen was slammed back almost into Teal. "(C'mon, Toots, is that all ya got?)"

Nidoqueen wiped her mouth. "(Don't call me Toots!)" She spewed a more forceful Water Gun, sliding him back.

"Hoo!" Teal smirked. "Good job, girl! That's bound do have done major damage!"

Nidoqueen smiled. She loved her trainer's praise. She was aiming to win this fight.

"Pound one more time!" Muk's trainer demanded.

"Dodge it!" Teal commanded. Nidoqueen jumped to the side, hoping to blindside him, but the pollution Pokémon made a dirty play and hit her on the bottom. The Poison Pin Pokemon scowled and kicked Muk away, before slamming her tail into the ground, sending a Rock Slide crashing into him.

Muk groaned loudly as he passed out. Nidoqueen huffed angrily as she stomped back over to Teal.

"Wow...uhh...good job."

"Muk is unable to battle! Nidoqueen is the winner."

The Super Nerd approached. "Well. Good fight, I guess." He handed Teal the prize money. "This just shows I need more type variation and experience."

"Don't be so hard on yourself. I've only been a trainer for like a week." Teal smiled and pocketed it. "Plus Nidoqueen here didn't even battle Lieutenant Surge."

"Really? You must be good. Until next time."

"See you later." Teal said as the teenager walked off. Nidoqueen huffed and sat back next to Ivysaur and Golbat.

"(Arrrre you okaaaay?)" Golbat asked.

"(Don't talk to me.)" Nidoqueen spat, still angry at Muk for slapping her ass.

Teal stretched a bit before returning to his sleeping bag. "Okay everybody. Bed time."

The boy recalled his entire roster of Pokémon. Kayla however opted to let Chansey and Meowth sleep at the far end of her tent.

Teal zipped his tent shut, not wanting cold air to get in.

0

In the dead of night, the cold blooded beast slithered through the tall grass of the route. His tremendous form glistening under the moonlight.

The serpent had only recently escaped his captors, but he was in need of sustenance, his stomach growling monstrously. He had been tracking a most peculiar scent for quite a while, and now he was homing in on the source.

He came to one mid-size canvas nest, reasoning that this must be his prey's dwelling. He coiled around it before sticking his gargantuan head into the entrance.

Unlike Chansey and Kayla who were snoozing away, Meowth was still fully awake, due to his nocturnal nature, lying with his feet curled up under his body.

He was minding his own business, thinking about going out on a hunt for something shiny when he heard a funny noise and rose up on all fours to turn around and look. Only to be met with the vision of an enormous Ekans of ungodly size.

"Meeeeowwwwthhh!" The Scratch Cat Pokémon screeched at the sight of the monster snake and ran out of the tent in terror.

The Ekans was unbothered by the small fry's escape, and preferred to the more sizeable prey inside the tent.

Meowth circled around Teal's tent, looking for an entry point. "(Screw this.)" He detracted his claws and slashed the tent wall apart. He reached Teal and immediately started scratching his leg.

"Mmm. Mmph! H-hey! What the-!?" The boy woke up to see the frenzied feline clinging onto him. "Meowth? What is it?"

"M-m-mme-meow'nyaar!" Meowth meowed frantically before belly flopping onto the floor and wriggling about, and making hissing noises and biting the air.

Teal raised an eyebrow before grabbing his Poke Ball belt and bag before going out to investigate.

"Holy-!" He gasped at the sight of the Ekans that was wriggling it's body part of the way inside Kayla's tent. "That things bigger than Blue's Gyarados!"

Ekans' tongue flicked eagerly in and out of his mouth as he sampled the air. Chansey were like big balls of energy. And though he'd yet to savor the taste of humans, he wasn't shying away from the opportunity.

First, he'd start with the Chansey, unhinging his jaw so his mouth could stretch wide enough to swallow her up like an egg. And within mere moments, he did, her semi malleable form sliding down his throat with ease.

Now it was time for the human. He rehinged as jaw, as she wasn't too wide for his throat. Kayla stirred, the commotion waking her up.

"Hmm...Chansey? Meowth?" She groggily looked around, until she saw the maw of the giant Ekans. "Whaaaa-!?" She screamed before he grabbed her head in his mouth and quite literally sucked her out of her sleeping bag, swallowing her almost instantly.

Before he could vacate the tent however, the Ekans heard a cry of some kind, and cringed as a current of electricity coarsed through his body.

The Ekans, undetered slithered out of the tent to meet the assailant, glaring at the human boy, the Pikachu, and the Meowth.

"Ekaaaaaanss!" It hissed, but it's deepness and volume moreover sounded like a roar.

"It didn't do much…" Teal grimaced, examining the oversized snake, coming to the two lumps in it's stomach. His mouth gaped. "Y...you ATE KAYLA AND CHANSEY!?"

The Poison-Type hissed again, coiling up slightly. Teal could see it's belly shrink and expand a bit, presumably already hard at work on them.

He scowled. "Pikachu! One more time, Thunder Shock!"

"Piiiikachuu!" The rodent squealed, letting out another electric jolt. Ekans made a strange noise of displeasure, but was simply annoyed instead of hurt. His tail rattle turned into a stinger as he swiped it at them.

Teal and Pikachu ducked out of the way, completely aghast at the beast's power, as the tail sting cut right through a nearby berry tree.

"Okay. New plan!" Teal grabbed Cappy and jumped into the tall grass. Ekans slithered around it, waiting for them to come out. Teal pulled a TM disk from his bag, the very one he'd gotten from Lt. Surge. "I didn't wanna do this, but we've got no choice."

The Pikachu nodded as he put the collar around her throat.

Ekans awaited eagerly for his adversaries to emerge, as he was anxious to return to a proper hiding space to properly digest his meal. Unfortunately such would not come to pass.

"Cappy, use Thunderbolt!" Teal's voice rang out.

"Piiiikaaaachuuuuuuu-!" The Mouse Pokémon leapt out of the grass and pummeled the collosal Ekans with a sizeable bolt of lightning from her cheeks. Ekans recoiled, and hissed in pain, paralyzed by the attack.

Teal grabbed a Poké Ball and enlarged it, throwing it at Ekans. "Oh wait-!" He spat, forgetting the situation. The sphere hit the humungous snake, and opened as the boy winced, pouring over what might happen to Chansey and Kayla. Thankfully, he could see their silhouettes emerging as Ekans was turned into light around them.

Kayla groaned as her body hit the ground, and Teal skidded down next to her to wrap his arms around her, ignoring the fact she was still lightly covered in digestive fluid.

"W-what t-t-t-the hell was that thing!?" Kayla panted in sheer terror as the Poké Ball clicked.

"Nothing to worry about now...I think I should have Bill buzz that thing over to Professor Oak's place." Teal said. Not even bothering to see the Pokedex entry. "Let's go back to Lavender Town and get you and Chansey fixed up."

"Yeah...before another freak of nature shows up." Kayla added, trying her best to wipe the gunk off her pajamas to no avail.

Chansey ate one of her infertile eggs, shaking with the trauma as Meowth wretched.

0

Teal sat waiting as Chansey was treated for any injuries, and Kayla cleaned up in the shower, her clothes sent to the complimentary laundry at the Pokémon Center. He sighed, a little remorseful that he didn't ask her to sleep in his tent, but that would be wierd. They were still preteens after all.

He sipped water from a bottle as he booted up the PC, and Bill's face lit up on the screen. His hair was disheveled, and he looked as though he was in the middle of his seventh cup of espresso.

"Teal, do you know what you just sent me?" The Poké Maniac asked, holding up the Poké Ball in question.

"Yeah. The stupid thing ATE my friend. Good thing the Poké Ball absorbed it around them, so they weren't digested."

"I get Pokémon is short for Pocket Monster, but this Ekans here is a genuine Snakezilla! Where'd you get this thing!?"

"East of Lavender Town. How does a Pokémon get so big? And where does it get a taste for people?"

"Those are the real questions…" Bill pondered, staring into the distance.

"Can you send it to the Professor over in Pallet Town? Maybe he can figure out what's up with it."

"Y-yeah...I'm curious. Matter-o-fact, I'll fly over there on my Pidgeot in the morning. I wanna help him figure that out too."

"Thanks, Bill."

"Anytime partner." The screen went blank as he logged off. He stood up to throw his bottle away, when he caught a passerby leaning on the counter. On the edge was a strange blue-topped Poké Ball, with red, rectangular nubs on either side of the very top.

"Hey...could I ask what kinda Ball this is?" He inquired, walking up and gesturing to it. The Trainer picked it up.

"This? It's a Great Ball. It's a slightly powered up Poké Ball. They're three times as high for one tho."

"Really?" He glanced at the clock, and figured he had enough time to run to the Mart. "Thanks for letting me know."

0

After spending the night at the Lavender Town Pokemon Center, the twosome headed inside the route connector, and they were met with another roadblock.

"Sorry, kids. The road's still closed." The officer said.

"Oh what the hell!?" Teal cursed, clutching at the air. "Its been closed for like five days!"

"Sorry. You can bypass and take Celadon City's Gym Challenge if you want by taking the secondary Underground Passage outside."

"Sure, why not. Let's go, Kayla."

As soon as they left the building, a single cute lass stood in their way, holding up a Poke Ball.

Teal sighed. "I'll give you 1600 Pokeyen if you let us go."

"No way! You know how this goes! It's time to battle!" She threw her Ball and a female Nidoran appeared.

"Hmph. Good times." Teal pulled Beedrill's Ball out. "Go, Beedrill!"

The ball burst open and the oversized insect manifested. "(You think you're venomous? Toxin itself is my servant!)" Beedrill said, making a few jabs at the air.

"(Whatever, dude! Let's get this over with!)" The future Nidoqueen barked in a ready position.

"Nidoran, use Scratch!"

"Nido!" Nidoran lunged, scratching the Drill Pokemon. He was mildly unimpressed though.

"Counter it with Fury Attack!"

"(A scratch is but a scratch and nothing more!)" Beedrill taunted. "(Muda muda muda muda!)" He buzzed, jabbing Nidoran four times. She winced with each blow.

"Nidoran, don't let it get you down!" The lass exclaimed. "Use Tackle!"

The small blue Pokémon rammed into her opponent, pushing him back. Beedrill made an approximation of a short.

"(I scoff at your feeble attacks.)"

"Beedrill, take it down with Cut!" Teal called.

"(Wryyyy!)" Beedrill screeched, slashing Nidoran with his forearm like stingers.

"(Oww!)" Nidoran cried as she was knocked back on her side.

"Nidoran! Come back!" The Lass shouted, drawing her back into her Poke Ball, and throwing another. "Go, Nidorina!"

The Nidorina appeared, glancing at Teal and Beedrill. He called the bee to his Ball, before tossing another out. "Go, Cappy!"

The Pikachu emerged in a flash, ready to rumble with her opponent. "Pikapika!"

"Nidorina, use Tail Whip!" The Lass commanded.

"Nido-nido!" The Poison-Type cried, slapping Cappy with her tail to lower her defenses.

"We ain't taking that lying down! Pikachu, use Thunder Wave!"

"Chuuu!" Cappy cried, letting out a sparkling wave of light. Unfortunately Nidorina dodged and landed a Scratch to her cheek.

"Try a Mega Punch!" Teal exclaimed.

"PiiKA!" Cappy screamed, her paw balled into a fist, aiming to slug Nidorina. She dodged this one as well, to the Mouse Pokemon's chagrin.

"Scratch, once more!"

"Rina!" Nidorina grunted, lashing Cappy again. The Pikachu wiped her cheek, before letting out sparks. She was done.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"

"Piiikaaa-chuuuuu!" Cappy wailed, clutching her paws and letting out the attack. This one took more out of her than Thundershock, but seeing as it was more than twice as powerful, it was well worth it.

Nidorina was zapped by intense lightning Cappy emitted from her entire body, as her Hp hit zero on Teal's Pokedex.

"Nidorina, come back!" The Lass said, recalling her. She walked up to Teal and handed him half her funds. "Better luck next time." She said to Nidorina's Poke Ball as she left.

Teal knelt down and scratched the Pikachu's head. "Good goin, Cap!"

"Pii-ka-pi-chu!(Out, thanks a bunch!)" She looked to the side to see Chansey offer her an egg.

"(Cheers to the victor!)" The tubby Normal-Type smiled.

"(Oh-wow. Thanks!)" Cappy said, accepting the healing egg and eating it. Her scratch wounds vanished.

"Say, there ain't a tiny Chansey in those eggs, are there?" Teal asked Kayla with concern.

"No, Chansey autonomously make unfertilized eggs. Kinda like a chicken. It's a move called Softboiled."

"Oh, okay." After rubbing Pikachu's rubbery cheeks, he returned her to her Ball. "Well, if that's all the interruptions for now, let's see whats in store at Celadon. My mom used to take me to the Department Store there all the time when we lived in Saffron."

"I want to see the Gym myself." Kayla suggested.

"Why's that? You're not big on battles."

"I'm not, but Erika also teaches flower arrangement. I hear it's the most beautiful Gym in Kanto."

"Okay then. I'll head to the department store while you're doing that. You want anything?"

Kayla dug into her skirt pocket and handed him a few Pokeyen bills. "A lemonade, please."

"You got it."

The two entered the underground entrance, and Teal went down first. Kayla paused at the top of the stairs, frozen in fright.

"Kay?" He looked back up at her, and saw her shaking.

The mouth of the stairwell looked just like the gaping maw of the Ekans.

Teal frowned and hung his head before raising it again with a smile as he extended his hand. "Don't worry, Kay. I'm here."

She looked into his emerald eyes and took a step down. The young nurse trainee took a DEEP breath as she descended the stairwell to take his hand.

0

After passing through the Underground Passage, Teal and Kayla made their way onto Route 7, Kayla was in the lead, wanting to get out of that abyss as quickly as possible, but Teal grabbed her hand and stopped her.

"What is-" She began, but he shushed her, motioning for her to get down. Chansey and Meowth mimmicked their stance as Teal crawled and led her near the tall grass.

There was a small, red, vulpine Pokémon, with six short, bushy tails.

Teal captured the image with his Dex. "Vulpix…" One thing that stood out about this Vulpix was that its hair seemed almost like a mohawk.

"It's beautiful…" Kayla mused.

"And it's Fire-Type...I need one of those!" He whispered before fiddling with his bag and pulling out one of the blue and white Great Balls he had bought in Lavender.

"You're just gonna try and catch it without a fight?"

"Hey, these ARE better than regulars." Teal said, pressing the button in the center of the Ball and making it enlarge, red nubs becoming fully pronounced. With one swift swing of his arm, he threw a curveball.

Vulpix heard it whirring through the air, but made no effort to move as it landed on her noggin and hissed open, drawing her inside in a rush of blue light.

The ball clacked against the ground, shaking slowly. Teal rose up with intent, as he watched it, squinting at the metal sphere.

Ding, went the capture tone as three stars popped out of the top. Teal smirked and ran to watch the Ball vanish, transferring into Bill's PC. "Freaking sweet!"

He whipped his Pokedex back out, which displayed detailed information, as well as the insight that Vulpix was female, as well as her moves.

"Huh...sure catching a lot of female Pokémon. But whatever."

"Good job! Let's go meet our new friend!" Kayla suggested.

"You bet!"

The two went into Celadon, passing by strangers, including a Team Rocket Grunt that was ducking in cover.

Inside the Pokemon Center, Teal swapped Nidoqueen back out to receive Vulpix. As soon as the Great Ball manifested, he accepted it and let it loose on the Center floor.

The fox opened her dark brown eyes, looking around before lying them on her new trainer.

Vulpix eyeballed him before approximating a small smile, as if understanding that this human was her new partner. She held one of her little paws up. "Vul!"

"Aww, that's so cute!" Teal sniffled before tapping his hand against her paw. "Hiya, Vulpy, I'm Teal! I hope we can be good friends!"

"Pix!" The fox yipped happily as she started frolicking and playfighting with the air.

"I'd say you got yourself a fine little Pokémon, sonny." An old lady called from the side. "Just hold off on evolvin' 'er into Ninetales."

"Why's that?" Teal asked.

"Because after evolvin', Ninetales won't learn any moves on it's own." The lady said as she departed, cup in her hand. "You children be good now."

"Well. Now I know that much." Teal said. "'Kay, Kayla, I'm heading for the department store. I'll probably be in the Game Corner when you get done."

"Okay. I'll see you there." She giggled as she left out the door. He followed suit, but going in a different direction, allowing Vulpix to follow out of a Ball.

Soon after heading out of the Pokemon Center, he and his little Fire-Type were met with an older, heavy set man with a Pokémon at his side-a Poliwrath.

"Woah...sick Pokémon, dude!" Teal noted.

"Vul-vul!" Vulpix barked in agreement.

"Thanks, kid. Me and my Poliwrath are partners that stick together no matter what!" The other trainer replied. "He used to be a Poliwhirl, but he got hella stronger after I gave him a Water Stone."

"Neat!" Teal said.

"Say, if you want, the store is having a special on Evolution Stones! Maybe pick a Fire Stone up for that Vulpix!"

The other guy left toward a restaurant as Teal looked down to his mohawked Vulpix. "Hmm...well. Maybe we can get one for when you're ready."

"Pixpix!" Vulpix wagged her multiple tails and followed him toward the Pokemon friendly Department Store.

After getting some directions, he found the area labeled "Wiseman's gifts," and looked at the various elemental stones they had on display, an orange one that seemed to blaze with the light of flame itself, a cool, Indigo blue one that seemed to have blue bubbles inside, a green one that seemed to carry the pulse of a lightning bolt, and an earthy stone that had a leaf-carving in it.

"Something catch your eye?" The clerk asked. "Here's a chart to see which stone evolves which Pokémon."

He held up a sign displaying a picture chart, corelating stones to Pokemon. It showed that the Fire Stone evolved Growlithe, Vulpix, and a small brown one he didn't recognize.

The Water Stone evolved the same strange Pokemon, as well as Shellder, Poliwhirl and Staryu.

The Leaf Stone evolved Weepinbell and Gloom.

Then he looked to see the Thunder Stone only evolved two-the small brown mammal, and Pikachu.

He thought back to his battle with Lt. Surge. Then he thought of how Cappy might like it.

He pulled her Ball out.

When the Pikachu manifested, her first thoughts were her unusual closed-in surroundings. Then the unfamiliar Vulpix, who grinned at her.

Teal picked her up and showed her the evolution chart. "Cappy. Do you wanna get stronger and become a Raichu?"

Pikachu looked at the image of Raichu with intent. While sure, she saw nothing with staying the way she was, it made her think about how strong she might get. Then she recalled her dream.

The same dream she discussed with that other boy's Pikachu in Mt. Moon(Red's.)

To be a hero.

"Pika!" She said, hopping down to the floor and mock Mega-Punching at the air.

"Sounds like I have an answer." Teal said, handing the clerk the necessary cash and he returned by handing him a Thunder Stone. Teal made note that it did seem to carry a force inside, not unlike the Moon Stone.

"Here ya go!" He dropped it down to Cappy and she grabbed the electrified rock. Her body immediately took on a white glow. Teal shook his fists in excitement as the change took place.

Her ears curled slightly, as she almost tripled in height, and gained a bit of girth. Her tail lengthened, resembling a wire with a lightning bolt shaped tip. Her red cheek pouches became yellow.

When all was said and done, she looked much like Surge's Raichu, except her lightning bolt tail-tip was cut off on the very end.

"Rai? Rai!" She exclaimed in glee as she looked down at her paws before hugging Teal's leg. He scratched her head in response.

"You look awesome, Cappy. Like a hero that's powered up to their final form!"

"Rail" She chirped.

"(I hope I look at least half as cool when I can turn into Ninetales!)" Vulpix mused.

"(Don't worry! I'm sure you'll make a great one!" Raichu responded. Vulpix wagged her tails and barked happily at her statement.

The three of them went to the top floor for a break, with Teal buying himself a Soda Pop, Raichu and Kayla a Lemonade, and Vulpix a Fresh Water.

As they sat, a little girl with a red hair bow and wearing a yellow dress approached.

"Mister? I'm thirsty, and don't have any money. Can you buy me a water?"

"Umm...sure." He gave her the money, and she accepted, handing him a TM disk.

"You can have this because I'm not a trainer! Thank you!"

"Huh…" Teal mused as she walked off to the drink machine. "Nice girl." He looked over the disk case. "Ice Beam...sounds badass!"

0

After relaxing a bit, Teal headed into the Game Corner. Instead of a coin case, he used a medium sized cloth bag in his backpack to carry his game coins.

He played for what felt like hours, ammassing a huge pile of the gold-colored tokens. Curiously, about halfway through he heard what might have been a big skirmish(Red walking through to deal with Team Rocket), but he was too absorbed to pay any heed.

He felt a hand on his shoulder, and turned to see Kayla.

"Having fun there?" She giggled.

"I was just about to go and cash in for a prize." He said, getting up and hefting his bag to his shoulders. After digging in it for her lemonade of course.

"Let's head to the prize desk then." The pinkette nurse in training said, leading him to the building next door.

Teal and Kayla both looked over the prizes available-several Pokémon, but none that sparked his immediate interest. Instead, he turned to the TM prizes.

"Dragon Rage and Hyper Beam, please."

"Coming right up!" The sunglasses wearing ginger-haired worker replied. She reached under the display and handing him the disk cases as he laid the coins on the table.

Kayla peered in to the Poke Ball case. "Scyther and Pinsir?" She asked. "Aren't those from the Safari Zone?"

"Yeah? What's your point?" The girl asked in a bit of a snobby tone.

"It's illegal to market Pokémon from the Safari Zone! Too many endangered ones!"

Teal's eyes widened, as the woman's eyes narrowed venomously. The blond boy tightened his bandana before throwing a Poke Ball to the ground.

Raichu manifested in light and smoke, looking around curiously. "Raii? Rai? Chu?" Kayla doubled back.

"Cappy evolved!?"

Teal got up on the prize desk and jabbed a finger at the clerk's chest. "All right, what kinda game corner are you running here that trafficks illegal Pokémon!? Answer up!"

Raichu sparked her cheeks, understanding the situation. She struck a heroic pose with her ragged cloth cape fluttering. "Rai!"

The woman grimaced. "Fine. Jigs up." She ripped through her disguise, revealing her snow white Team Rocket uniform, consisting of a sleeveless top, elbow length gloves, a miniskirt and boots. "You just had to know shit! Go, Koffing!"

She threw a Poke Ball and smoke filled the area, blinding the lot of them. As the Rocket Grunt made her exit, Raichu was the only one able to give chase.

"Pesky rat!" She cursed under her breath. "Koffing, use Tackle!"

"Koh-ffing!" Koffing bellowed, flying through the air and slamming into her. Cappy was only slightly shoved back, but landed a furious Mega Punch, sending Koffing flying almost to the treeline bordering the city. He slowly hovered back, almost exhausted from weathering the one blow.

"Koffing!" The grunt gasped before biting her lip before waving her arm. "Use Smog again!"

"Koff!" Koffing spewed noxious gas, but Raichu zipped out of the way, and sparked her cheeks!

"Raaaaiii!" Raichu exclaimed, sending a full ten-thousand volts flying at them.

"Gaaaaaahhh!" The Rocket Grunt and Koffing both fell out as they were shocked. When it was over they both lie on the ground twitching.

Raichu fluttered her cape again. "Chu!"

A passing officer came onto the scene, calling paramedics, just as Teal and Kayla joined Raichu.

"Good job, Cappy!" Teal praised her.

The cop approached. "Are you the owner of this Raichu?"

"Yes sir!" The youth exclaimed happily.

The officer put a hand on his shoulder. "You've got a good Pokémon with ya, kid. We've been suspicious of that game corner for weeks now. With that shut down, thanks to you and that kid with the Charmeleon, Celadon City will have a much better image."

"Red?" Teal mouthed aloud.

"I believe that's what his name was." He replied. "We'll just take this Grunt into custody. Stay outta trouble."

The two children watched as the Rocket Grunt was loaded into the ambulance, Teal turned to Kayla. "I didn't think Red was gonna challenge Team Rocket. He seemed like Professor Oak's Pokedex was his main goal."

"Maybe Red is a bit more noble than you thought." Kayla suggested before seeing a small ground approach. A congregation of Lasses, female Jr. Trainer's(Picknickers), and Beauties, centered around a young woman wearing a flowing, elegant kimono. "Oh? It's Erika!"

"The Gym Leader?" Teal asked, remembering the name from her mom's magazines.

The group of girls made room for their teacher and Gym Leader to meet him. She was a sleepy looking girl with short, raven hair and a headband.

"Thank you for your help in driving these mafia men out of Celadon City." She said, bowing her head. "I and the people of our fair city owe you a great debt."

"Oh, there's no problem. They would have gotten whats coming to them any-" His entire body went rigid as he blushed and looked away.

He could see a good deal of her cleavage in that pose.

'Good God. The rumors are true! She's HUGE!' He fought it, but he couldn't help but steal another glance. 'Th-they're even bigger than Kayla's!'

He shook his head. 'What am I doing! This is a Gym Leader I'm oggling! A person that's meant to be respected!' Thankfully Erika and Kayla didn't see him look.

Erika's Gym Trainers on the other hand did. And they weren't happy, folding their arms and placing hands on their hips.

"Is there anything that I can do for you-" Erika asked as she rose up, only to be met with a Poké Ball suspended in front of her face.

"Please, if you're not busy, would you have an exhibition battle with me?"

"An exhibition?" The normally quiet girl asked before smiling. "Sure."

"Great! Thank you, ma'am." He bowed, turned around and walked some space away. "Go, Ivysaur!"

In a flash, his partner Pokémon appeared. "Saur!" He bellowed, taking in the sights of the city.

Before Erika could throw her own Ball, her Gym Trainers went over and knelt around Ivysaur.

"A bit light, but not underweight."

"Leaves are the right length and width."

"Skin seems a tad bit dull. Requires more sunlight exposure to nourish."

One girl stuck an extractor into Ivysaur's flower bulb, taking out a sticky orange substance. "Nectar has a strong color." She proceeded to drink it out of the extractor. "And distinctively sweeter than average."

Teal was stammering to himself in utter bewilderment at whatever they were doing. Erika smiled silently to herself.

"Given your Ivysaur's physical condition and attributes-" A Lass began, before being joined by another. "Your score is B minus!" They chimed in unison and pointing at him judgementally.

"What does that mean?" Teal asked.

"Oh, you can ignore that. My pupils think it's their right to judge a Pokémon based on its qualities." Erika said. "Like a flower judging. And speaking of flowers- Go, Vileplume!"

She gave her Great Ball a light underhand toss, and it popped open, releasing white light that coalesced into the form of a Pokémon with a dark blue body, digitless arms and feet, and a huge red and white flower atop its head.

"Vile!" It vocalized confidently, standing before Teal and Ivysaur.

"So it's Grass versus Grass…" Teal said, getting the image for his Dex.

"You may have the first move!" Erika declared.

"Thank you. Ivysaur, use Leech Seed!"

"Iiiivysaur!" Ivysaur called, shooting a seed pod from its back at Vileplume, but the capsule merely bounced off Vileplume's flower without doing anything.

"Huh!?" Teal gasped.

"You should know. Leech Seed is completely ineffective against Grass-Type Pokémon.

"Now you tell me."

"Vileplume, use Swords Dance!"

"Viiiiiii-plume!" Vileplume exclaimed, performing a small dance as an aura of clashing blades appeared around him for a brief moment.

"Teal! That move increases Physical Attack power!" Kayla noted. "She's going for something big!"

"Then we just have to knock him out before he can!" Teal called. "Ivysaur, use Tackle!"

"Ivy!" The quadruped grunted after ramming into Vileplume. Vileplume shrugged it off without a second thought as he continued to dance.

"No good...Try Vine Whip!"

Ivysaur launched his whips to attack, but Vileplume was completely unphased.

"Vile!" It said as it stopped dancing.

"Cut." Erika said confidently. As if one blow would be enough.

And it almost was. Vileplume leapt forward with his headflower sharpening as he charged. He lashed Ivysaur, who yelped as he was flipped over by the blow.

The Seed Pokémon shook himself off, but that one strike dealt so much damage. He staggered, and fell to the ground, struggling to stand back up. Teal grimaced. He knew he couldn't win against such an opponent. Erika had strength, AND wit.

Not to mention anyone else would have three badges by now and he only had two.

"Come back, Ivysaur!" Teal said, holding his Poke Ball up.

"Saur?" The weakened Grass-Type began, turning back to him. After a moment, he nodded and was drawn back into the ball as energy.

Erika yawned, albeit not to be disrespectful. She was genuinely sleepy. "And that is how the leaf falls. Better luck next time." She bowed, and Teal looked away, so as not to rudely gaze at her bosom again. "Might I ask your name?"

"It's Teal."

She rose up. "Teal. Thank you again for your help in driving Team Rocket out of our fair city. I humbly await your challenge in the Celadon City Pokémon Gym, should you so choose."

She turned around. "If you will excuse me, I'm overdue for my nap." She yawned as her group turned to escort her back to the Gym, with a few of them turning back to scowl at Teal.

"That attack looked rough, Teal!" Kayla said as she walked beside him as he turned to head to the Pokémon Center. "You should've picked Vulpix!"

"As she is, Vulpix isn't strong enough." Teal disagreed. "None of my Pokémon are. If I'm going to beat Blue in a match that matters, I need to keep leveling my Pokémon up. After I get them healed, I'm going to train on the next Route."

Kayla considered what he said, before smiling and taking hold of his hand. "And I'll be there with you."

Teal blushed madly as he entered the red roofed building with her.

"Thanks, Kayla."

And that's all for this chapter. And I'm sorry if the Ekans scene is going a little too far for you guys. I promise that's gonna be the only scene like that for the rest of the fic aside from any flashback or hallucination. Teal will not be using it as one of his actual Pokémon.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
